Its a 3xxx/4xxx fix so yes. Given what you say about the age of the unit, in this case I am not convinced it will work but it will do no harm as it just swaps some files around to their correct locations. Admittedly they may already be in the right place, but with all the installs that have occurred in this case it is probably worth a go.

Adam, I downloaded this fix and although I got the swl success screen, as you suspected, it did not work.

Not sure what to do now, I have 3814 software and v9 maps, everything seems to run how it should with exception of the volume scroll on the mfsw. Although I really like things to work as they should, this maybe one step to far?

I presume it is an OEM wheel? If so you should be able to get this to work. Does the scroll wheel do anything else and if so does that work? It night be worth checking the steering module coding.

Yes its a factory fitted facelift OEM wheel and worked fine with the bolero. If you press the scroll wheel it activates the voice commands for the phone which work fine!

I am fairly sure there is a thread on here where someone had the same problem upgrading from a Bolero to a Columbus. Does it still work if you pop the Bolero back in?

Found it:

The fix was an upgrade to firmware sadly... However, I found a couple of references to this wheel not working on the Columbus. I wonder if it is just a reset that's needed - either the three buttons on the unit (setup-mic-eject) together or a 30 sec battery disconnect. Its probably a mismatch in the canbus network somewhere.

Adam

Ok thanks Adam, I'm reluctant to update firmware but may have one more go in order to get the mfsw scroll working if absolutely necessary. Today I will try reset with the three buttons and if that doesn't work, the 30s battery disconnect.

Generally any updates to the Columbus usually require a reboot to apply them.

Tried the reboot Adam, Karl with no luck. Just considering the pro's and con's of trying to upload 4020 again to try and fix the volume scroll!

I'm not sure it will fix it.

I'd leave it 'as is' or consider contacting HazyDayz to ask them for help.

Damn. I'm sorry but I'm clean out of ideas on this one...

Gents, I have decided to leave this as is. As everything else works, I think I can live without the volume scroll on the mfsw.

My 2009 FL Octavia Has 3T0 035 680, HW: H11, SW: 1164. Does Anyone Know Which Software I Can Download Onto This Unit?

Many Thanks,

Rik

Modified 3810a would work. Although I think there is a newer 4xxx version for older units available.

PM adamal and ask him.

Correct there is a 4020 option too. PM replied to.

Thanks Adam.

Is that linked to from the Australian website?

Great thread - just what I've been looking for having just aquired my 2008 second generation Skoda Superb Elegance (a great update from my previous Fabia).

Unfortunately, I'm rather stuck on step one - determining what current vesion of Columbus and firmware I have. I'm presuming I have the original version given that when holding the "Setup" button the only options i get are FM, AM and DAB. The question is how do i best confirm this to then allow me to choose which firmware version is best suited?

On the back of the original Radio Navigation System Columbus manual that came with the car it has 3T0 012 151 F (is this any help?) whilst I also have an offical Navigation DVD for Europe West V3 (presumably rather an old version?).

Any help appreciated :)

That's just the manual part number I believe.

In your case, either screw out the unit and check out the sticker and report the details back, or use VCDS to install the secret menu.

Adam

I think I'll go with this option as it seems the easiest ;)

Yes very straightforward to do. For reference vcds its diagnostic software that a number of members have and can use to enable the menu. There is a map of members with it in the VCDS area of the forum.

Ok, lots of different numbers but I think the one I need is as follows:

3T0 035 680

Is that the number needed or the one starting SKZ...

That's the part number with no suffix.

You'll need a firmware for 'older units'.

Adam will provide links very soon I expect. Or you can search this forum for 3810a.

I have a feeling i might need to go back for a second look as some other threads mention a character following the "3T0 035 680" part number e.g. A, B, C, D revisions...

I'll await Adam's input - just want to be triple sure before doing anything lol

The first units didn't have a suffix letter so yours looks to be an original unit which the age of your car does seem to confirm.
