Quick update to anyone that's put there order in and is waiting for there 0806 dash cam which includes myself

Just emailed carcamera shop they are hoping to get delivery of some more of these around the end of March,so for now we will have to wait.

So too the ones that have recieved there's please keep us all updated as to how your getting on

with yours pros and cons,what's the best settings to have it on etc etc

Just got the full kit, (not yet fitted) Camera version FW 20150128 V1.0.

Read I have to go onto www.mini0806.com site for an upgrade..

Tried to follow info (below) soon got me lost ?? especially the bit before sticking micro SD back into camera..

 

Please download the latest firmware from:

www.mini0806.com to upgrade the camera for improved stability and extra functions.

 

Extract the FIRMWARE.BIN file to the root folder of your microSD card; insert

the card into your mini0806 camera and power on.

 

The camera will auto examine the FIRMWARE.BIN file and popup a confirmation dialogue, press the

UP or DOWN button to choose YES and press OK to upgrade.

The camera will shut down automatically after upgrading is completed.

Enjoy.

So far as the microSD card goes, it says to format to FAT32 before use, if over 32Gb, do it in a pc. I'm using 2 x 64Gb cards, one of which I formatted, the other I decided to put in without formatting, & both have been OK.

 

Anyway, best advice I can give is "to suck it & see", the goose ain't cooked yet, so install everything into the car & go give it a try.

I popped one 32GB micro SD in without formatting and seems to immediately started to record.

 

I have one SanDisk 128GB microSD card but await the second from Singapore seller, to fully load camera.

As said got the kit, and not a blinking clue what to do with it..LOL

 

There is a section where camera menu asks if formatting required, but I didn't use it..

If it's a Singapore eBay seller, use the sd card checker to ensure its not a fake card.

That is the latest firmware, and it supports exFAT file system on 64 and 128gig cards.

Checked out first card works perfectly, not bad for £19.90 + £2.99 postage, got second one on order as said.

Expected to get burnt, but hey-oh, card works fine.

 

Did as you suggested card states full 128GB, so got myself a bargain eh?

 

Camera recording display states 22 hours 44 minutes 43 seconds, for just the one card in position B.

Started to record right away so no formatting needed/required.

 

Manual states cards more than 32GB require formatting to FAT32, my lad tells that contrary to the fact FAT32 only will work up to 32GB..

Can't argue with him he has all sorts of degrees and Honorary qualifications in computer languages, so accept what he tells me..LOL

Seeing you missed the boat, could I suggest an alternative?

Plenty for sale on Flea-bay, works out cheaper for the same thing although a gamble it doesn't go wrong in the first twelve months.

About £85.55 for camera, GPS, CPL, in-car charger and hardwire.

See my last entry for SanDisk 128GB micro SD card Class10 , although camera will work on lower capacity cards..

Thanks for that I have ordered the memory cards as they seem excellent value. I have a camera on back order with Car Camera Shop as I would rather have the back up in case of failure (plus my credit card)!!!

Couple of questions about installation, where do you install the Haribos that came with the dash cam  :p  and what tool did you use to push the cable behind the trim?

The Haribos are fuel for the installation operative, & I used the Mark 1 integrated finger attachments on the palm :-))

Mine is all installed now I have messed with the settings. A few days testing, but think I will be moving the mounting location. My vehicle has all the auto sensors in the top centre of the screen and this takes on almost half of the viewing vision :(

Don't think my hardware kit is working? Wired into wiper fuse turn ignition on and no life. I tried red to earth and black to fuse box using a fuse tap presuming bottom point is feed.

Yes had red wire behind one of the dash bolts and fuse tap in. Tried cutting fuse tap off and rapping black cable around fuse with red trapped behind fixing bolt and no light.
