  • I had so many spontaneous reboots this week with even 4 occurring on the same day that the infotainment system was practically unusable. That’s why I decided to go ahead and install 1941 yesterday.

send request to @Rainesh

Might be a presumption on my part but is version 1985 only relevant for the facelift Octavia’s?

No, my Skoda is 2022. 👍

What you’re showing here are Android Auto specific features. This has nothing to do with your infotainment’s software version.

Yes, I know, it's an AA option. But before installing this version it didn't work for me. Only when AA was added to the home screen as a widget, but then the screen was reduced.

Skoda octavia IV first edition 2020 2.0 tdi dsg

screen resets, traffic sign recognition error reporting, parking function not available, braking in maneuver not available while driving

2 times updated software (current 1941)

Replaced the control unit

The same errors still occur

The next recommendation is to replace the complete control unit electronices - a repair of €5,000

Has anyone had a similar problem and managed to solve it?

You're asking in the wrong place, this thread is for Octavia Mk4 owners.

Hi,

The new firmware version 1985 has started to be distributed via OTA (Czech Republic).

My current version is 1941, but last evening I received a notification to update to version 9850L.

Of course, I accepted it, but nothing happened. Today, the System Update check shows that the download is still in progress.

Please see the attached photos from last night and this morning.

Yep, that's what I got earlier albeit the English version of it, so I don't know whether it'll continue to download it overnight or not. The mobile signal where I am isn't great, so it may take quite a few days to achieve a full download.

The download only happens while the car is running. So if you do short trips, it may take a while to download it.

Hi, thank you for your quick reply.

During the drive the download progress was displayed on the screen. Surprisingly, the download started and finished while driving. However, to complete the update, the car needed to be parked with the engine turned off. After about 20 minutes, the update was successfully installed.

One immediately noticeable change is that the application windows can no longer be easily swapped. The navigation is now fixed on the driver's side, and its position cannot be changed by simply clicking on the second window.

Do you have a list of changes included in this 19850 version of the firmware?

Thank you in advance!

Has anyone got the latest update in Ireland or the UK yet?

UK here.

I've had both 1969 OTA back in December (not sure why as I was already on 1969 that I upgraded myself. Must of been a module that was lower version than OTA)

And had 1985 just after the new year

Is there anything that I need to have switched on in the infotainment system to enable updates? Currently on 1941 and no updates appearing.

Only thing I can find

To successfully receive an Over-the-Air (OTA) update for a Škoda vehicle, the following requirements must be met:
  • Online vehicle: The SOS module light in the overhead console must be green, indicating that the vehicle is online and can communicate with Škoda servers

  • Active primary user: A primary user must be assigned to the vehicle

  • Cellular network coverage: The vehicle must have cellular network coverage

  • Battery charged: The battery must be charged to at least 50%

  • Online Mode enabled: Online Mode must be enabled in the privacy settings

When an OTA update is available, the vehicle's infotainment screen will notify the user. The installation can be started from the goodbye screen after turning off the vehicle.

As far as I can tell I have all that enabled yet my 2022 1.4 iV in the UK is still on 1889. I’m reluctant to manually update so was hoping for a way to force an OTA update.

Possible that it won't auto update from versions that old. Maybe OTAs only work from 1906?

You might need to do manually. Think others have gone to 1941 from 1800 fw versions without issue
