Correct. Firmware and Software security policies prevent you taking retrograde steps.

You either move forward or stick where you are with your current Firmware/Softwares.

It's a bit like most smartphones you get software & security updates each month and that's it.

This is kinda true, but you can still downgrade any iOS device as long as Apple’s still signing the older iOS version.

  • Personally, not really in the spirit of the forum to be selling the update file.  Also, with no documentation, or indeed any reference to this update on the web, I would not install it at this point.

  • Just for clarification, in the past I supplied a lot of files for free. The costs that I made then we're not high and I could cover it with other works   However since last year the costs fo

  • I have now sourced the 1985 update package and installed successfully.  Everything seems fine but got a long journey tomorrow which will confirm its stability.  I’ll happily share it FOC over the week

But why would you want to when a Firm/Software update provides you with improved features & security.

New buggs, less stable version, malfunctioning or nonfunction apps, battery drain, increased loading times … There are lots of reasons. New version isn’t always a better one. Anyways, I still agree 1985 is the best version my Octavia ever had.

As a point of reference, I have just done a 300 mile round trip and version 1985 was solid and stable on my Octavia.  Obviously that doesn’t necessarily translate to another vehicle as other factors at play such as individual module firmware versions etc.

Version 1985 Update files available to download with installation guide available here:

Hello. Can someone please put a list of languages supported by the new program? And for which regions it is intended. Thank you.

I'd expext all languages you'll find in previous releases wich has been installed by many users from many countries, probably the entire market region Skoda is selling Cars (Western and Eastern Europe).

Sveiki.

Es ceru, ka visas valodas, kuras jūs atradīsiet iepriekšējos laidienos, kurus ir instalējuši daudzi lietotāji no daudzām valstīm, iespējams, visā tirgus reģionā Skoda pārdod automašīnas (Rietumeiropā un Austrumeiropā).

Hello.  I think someone could post pictures of the language settings here.  Because when I disassembled the update, I did not see all the languages.  Specifically interested in the Latvian language.  Thank you.

Is there anyone who know about with new SW installing the extra settings via OBD11 (e.g.: scandinavian DRL, extra ambient colors, oil-dsg temperature, lane assist memory ..etc.) will they stay or disappear? So I have to do again the coding after new sw installation?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for uploading the 1985 upgrade files.
I updated infotainment successfully from 1969 to 1985 version.
Everything went smoothly and so far it works very well.
I noticed one thing. After a successful update, I received ota update. Since it finished, I'm not able to connect to obdeleven next gen anymore. Is it possible that the issue is connected to an update? Has anyone experienced a similar problem after the update?

With Obdeleven gen1 all fine

I tried again but this time I reset the infotainment before I tried to connect. Everything went ok.
The bottom line, I should reset the infotainment after app updates were applied.

There’s more for sure. 😊

Anyone had issues with upgrading themselves? I'm hearing alot of success stories in here which is good but i'm on 1941 and it works great so I want to be fully confident before attempting this myself 😂

Is there any improvement in the voice assistant?

No problem updating, for me the third time. When you use an Android than you see changes for Android Auto. Upgraded from 1806 to 1941 to 1969 and now 1985 and with every update the Infotainment gets better, my opinion.

What improvement? Laura is working well here with German language.

Anyone who has PHEV and upgraded?

Saw people talking about e-manager disappearing with this update.

In English. I'm not native speaker, but I still consider my accent to be good. However, sometimes controlling the AC through Laura seems slow and the assistant sets the wrong settings.
