  2. Has anyone found a way to mask the millions of tiny craters in the outer glass of the front windscreen in high mileage cars? They cause a multitude of reflections in bright sunlight to the extent that I've had to almost stop once or twice recently when I couldn't see the road. I have had three Octavias since 2002 and all of them have suffered with this problem, the only way I have found is to replace the screen somehow but with all the electronical gubbins linked to the vRS screen, my insurance company won't guarantee that a replacement will have the same connectivity. i have the same problem with my 2000 BMW 740 which still has the original glass in it.....
  3. SwallownAmazon started following WINDSCREEN
  4. Won’t be chasing mega power Stage 1 map be enough
  5. As above, the MQ250 gearbox is absolutely fine - I’ve seen 500nm plus put through it. The only limiting factor is the clutch, which is already happy at 250nm.
  6. Today
  7. You can buy magsafe cases or adhesive magnetic rings. Have a look on Amazon for your phone model.
  8. Ah yes.....good point....it's a Manuelle
  9. I have seen it in my OBDEleven tool. Thanks. AG Falco
  10. This is a Manual according to first post. Would that still be a DQ250?
  11. Doesn’t bother me about the boys getting it dirty. We do a lot of shows so it’s never clean all the time But the dog smell and hair is what I hate
  12. Greetings all, hello Alasdair1 I'm glad you've managed to pass those hurdles, the 1.2's never came to Barbados, only the 1.4's in 3 variants, estate, hatch and sedan Anyhow good news all around
  13. JackTurner changed their profile photo
  14. Always good to have a fresh interior. It’s nice to have the car looking shiny outside but with kids, it’s such a nice place to sit when pristine.
  15. Off for an interior detail Friday Get rid of the dog hair and smell! And a few other bits I wasn’t happy with on handover Long list of parts I want Probably get front windows tinted and a tinted sunstrip first 🤭
  16. Shameless tarting up of the engine bay…although not as far as cleaning yet.
  17. Hi, just joined to find out some more information about towbars for my Octavia VRS which was built in January 2024. I'm trying to get one installed so I can put a bike rack on the car. The local dealer has quoted £2,300 for am electric retractable one but I don't need something that fancy. Is it possible to install a detachable third party one now? I'm based near Gatwick if that helps with any local recommendations. Thanks for your help

  20. Replied with part numbers etc. It is the later type, where driver's and passenger side can operate relatively independently compared with the earlier versions where driver's side failure generally caused both sides to not work. There's a tab at the top of the door bellows, on the bit nearest to the A-pillar. To release the bellows from the A-pillar you push downwards fairly firmly on that tab then pull the top outward. If it's never been opened before these can be stubborn, try not to force it, they can break. There's then an orange rotating locking clip that needs to rotate further than you first think to release the (28 way) door loom connector from its mating half on the pillar. (Especially important to make sure it's fully open when refitting connector). Does the switchpack light up when vehicle lights are turned on? The backlighting relies on the same earth as the switch functions do.
  21. Hello. Firstly sorry if this is in the wrong section. Either way I own a late model 25 plate Karoq sport. Full spec up . I've just got back from Canada and on my first night of drive hit the side of a field while heading home. Stupid i know, but it's not being repaired by Skoda they have given me a brand new 2026 plate. And funnily enough they fixed the wireless charger but add mag lock. My 2025 will slip of and stop changing. . Any body know where to buy these (see picture). Skoda has already told me they can't get it at the minute. You will see in the images mag lock is new there. And it keep the phone in place.
  22. Mines randomly leaking from the second radiator, doesn’t do it all the time but keeping an eye on it The way I traced it was literally jacking it up and removing the under tray and look around with a decent torch. I believe if the water pump is suspected it’s probably best to remove the wheel arch liner and you’ll see if it’s leaking
  23. If you intend to maintain the vehicles electronic service history, make sure any independent garage you use has the necessary equipment to do so - not all do.
  24. Thanks for the help. I've sent Pete the VIN Number and see what comes back. I'll follow the recommendations and start with the Door Connections. Thanks Again, I think I'll be using this forum quite a lot............
  25. Yes. Good look around for damp or signs of coolant should give away the general location and point towards a failure area. Speculating only puts the price up in your head before the faults even found.
  26. I had the same thing yesterday, decided to try the auto function and then couldn't remember how to turn it off. As others have mentioned I needed to wait until it auto-activated, and then pull on the stalk - that turns it off. Otherwise you're just toggling between manual high-beam and auto "matrix mode"
  27. This has been floating around for a little while, We had a 2007 Polo which was recalled in August/September and had a replacement airbag
  28. There were 3 quite different types of motor module fitted to mk2 Fabia during its production run, I think yours will be the last version but can check with VIN. I seem to remember there's at least two incompatible versions of the switchpack also. I'll message you to request the VIN and then I can look up for you. Still reckon a 5 minute look at the wiring in the bellows is the very first, and likely the only thing you'll need to do.
