I cannot think of anyway we can get cheap oil again unless the Middle East Gulf full open until then the UK may have to pay a £1 a litre abd then choose what taxes to levy. The Excise Duty of 52.95 p per litre and VAT at 20% Ad Valorem will be under review. With UK debt approaching £3T the UK had difficult choices. Lots of us who decided to abandon use of hydrocarbons years ago would not want to see precious government money allocated to tax relief on what we see as polluting fuel and the government will be aware actions could tip bielection voting which coukd lead to the loss of the ex PMs constituency to the Greens. I di reckon we will see Excise duty cut for a period of months, maybe 5,8 or 10p a litre but we have to watch thatvtge oil companies don't taje the milk again abd trouser the Excise cut. Hopefully we can get more electric vehicles into all areas. Recipts from fuel already down by about a fifth in the past few years and it will fall away to relatively little in the next decade. We may need to consider rationing of diesel to keep back supply fir farmers, fire engines etc I reckon. Some countries limiting purchases to 20 litres a visit. Maybe we will see speed limits cut to 55 mph as in the oil crisis of '73 ?

Yes brick like but only aimed at city travel really, standard battery is 15 kwh i gather, bigger battery option a massive 20 KWh. Should be good round town. 15 KW motor so top speed only 90 kph, not allowed on motorways, classed as quadricycle. Expected to be £10k or less.

Hello, I would like to ask for your help. I have two different engine. DFGA and CXXB. 2.0 liter with adblue and 1.6 liter without adblue. The oil ash mass quantity is: DFGA - 60g CXXB - 11g The ash mass limit is 80g. Both cars have the same mileage and are used in the same way. Why is there such a big difference between the two numbers? Is 60g a lot? How effective is DPF cleaning? I'm not talking about regeneration. Thank you!

I'd think that the only way to get anything from VW Group at some time in the future, will be to report this failure via the DVSA website - doing that might, just might, eventually get UK Gov to point a gun at VW Group over this issue!

Your automotive controller is no longer synchronizing with the graphics controller, which indicates a timeout issue. Updating or reflashing the same firmware might help. Otherwise, buy a used unit and find someone who can perform a full backup of the automotive controller, transfer the data to the replacement unit, and adjust the mileage.

You might want to tell which infotainment system is installed in your car. Perhaps you could also say which model year your Fabia is from?

Thanks for listening, My octavia 2025 g-tec is not facelift version due to the headlights (I think facelift has SFD2) and I would like my digital cockpit to show the gas range. I tried change skins with vcds 25.3.1 but I couldn't find the vRS skin, I think i need unlock SFD due to VCDID code, see image attached. When going to 17 Instruments > Adaptation and typing "view" into the filter, I activated several views -such as 4, 7, 8, and 9- but I was only able to see a new skin by activating "view 8." I tried typing "Display depiction" into the filter, but whenever I attempt to activate any variant (Variant 1, Variant 2, etc.), it asks for a security code. Do you think this security code implies that I need to purchase an SFD token or is possible unlock security code writing a code in 17 Instruments > 16 Security Access ? Do you know how can I get the vRS skin in my CNG 2024 Octavia?

Hi all, Just wondering what the cambelt interval on a 1.6 Greenline III is. I’m seeing conflicting information online. I’ve just bought my old Octavia back and the belt was done before I originally bought it in 2020 at 90,000ish miles. The car has now done 140,000 miles so I’m guessing it’s overdue? It’s been owned by a family member so I know the car hasn’t had the belt done during their ownership. Looking to get it booked in if it is actually due, but just wanted to make sure it definitely is before I shell out. Also what’s the going rate for a cambelt & water pump change at an indie currently?

Filtering search by VIN gives same part number for cover as I suggested so if that looks unlike what you remember I think that leaves two possibilities: An earlier cover type had been fitted by someone in the past, or Maybe that's not the car's original engine.

Is this just the anti-stall software not allowing you to trickle along at (too low) revs? What revs is it doing at 38mph in 5th?

Maybe it had something non-original on it before, if that doesn't look like what you expect. I will message you to ask for VIN. Dirt on the outside of the engine doesn't matter, clean oil inside is much more important

Yes, I know it's dirty as hell 😂 I have tried several places, plus shops, but we are struggling to find the right fit. None of the covers I have found has the oil cap where mine is placed. Ps: its scheduled for a proper clean once the parts are in place

Thanks Dave, that's what I was afraid might be the answer. The problem I have is that my new DELL laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD player built in so unless I can find an inexpensive CD player to plug in, I am stuck with what I have.

Looks like an engine cover's the least of your worries I assume you've tried eBay, Amazon and Skoda?

A couple of years back i had my car in the shop, and upon the return my engine cover was gone. I am struggling to find a replacement, and was hoping some here could help me. It's a Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo, 1.2htp. I'll attach a photo. Hopefully someone here can help me get what I need.
