Scala Monte Carlo Edition Options?
I've already posted this on the 'About To Buy a Skoda?' section, but thought I would ask on the 'Scala' forum. I'm thinking of buying a new Scala Monte Carlo and have been looking at the list of options, I would appreciate members views on what are deemed 'Essential' options and what are not worth having. These are the options I'm considering; Skoda Sound System which comes with space saver spare wheel. Headlamp Washers. Variable Boot Floor. Assisted Drive package, The package integrates driver-assistance systems to enhance driving comfort. Predictive adaptive cruise control and adaptive lane assist keep the vehicle in lane and maintains speed and distance from the vehicle ahead. Convenience plus package with park assist, This pack adds park assist to the convenience plus package. Park assist is an automated system for pulling into and out of parking space - the system detects a suitable space for both parrallel and bay parking and assists with the manoeuvre, the Plus package also brings electrically operated boot with a virtual pedal to allow you to open and close the boot lid with ease. I would also like Underseat Storage Bins but cannot find them mentioned on Skoda site, but I'm sure I've seen them mentioned somewhere? Please comment with your thoughts on the above options and any others you may deem worthy of having. Thanks. Regards Walone.

1.5tsi put put sound on tickover diagnosis
To give credit, this is the original instagram post that drew me to it. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DfFyywNtp4m/?cplk=MWwxMWh1cWJsNGxydw== When looking at it it’s the hard plastic joiners that have cracked rather than the rubber pipe. All three had gone and almost right through. So ran the self amalgamating tape right along the section. The clips don’t quite do up but I don’t want to force them as I’ll probably replace the pipe at some point in the future. For now, the noise has gone and it seems to be sealed. Thanks @imart143 for the tips.

Reversing light
Thank you for the comprehensive suggestions. I already have PIR lights over the drive but they trigger much too late to do any good. I've coated the glass on her car with Rain X, although I've never seen much improvement with it before. I'll consider the LED bulbs. I noticed earlier there are two reversing lights, I'll check later to see if they both work

Can anyone help identify these hoses/parts
Some arrived from Amazon this morning and the job this afternoon is to fit it! Thanks for the tips.

Can anyone help identify these hoses/parts
I use self vulcanisated tape to fix it. Better than new. https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/adhesives-sealants-tapes/tapes/self-amalgamating-tapes/

Has anyone else found the new Driver Monitoring System on the Mk4 Superb to be overly sensitive?
I wonder if fitting a steering wheel cover would help make it less sensitive.

All In - anyone cancelled shortly after having a service, did you have to pay extra?
All In been available to buy on daughter's Kamiq since I first looked a good couple of weeks ago - car turns 3 on 3rd Nov. Apparently it should show up 30 days before. Bought it today, and everything in the plan, including the service element, is dated from 3rd Nov. Agree it's daft - surely many owners will get the MOT and 3rd service done elsewhere and then be lost to the franchise network for ever? That said, if nearly two months lead-time for servicing, as it is at our dealer, is common, then I don't suppose the dealers are bothered. As best I can gather from the Tiguan forum, some posters talk about getting the 3rd service done on All In, but one of them definitely had it done a week late, which obviously would work but I wouldn't want to risk any VW Group brand getting iffy about warranty. And you'd have to sort the MOT out separately - or just not use the car for a few days. Another Tiguan forum poster says that his service and MOT was done on time under All In, but it was back when there had to be an inspection - and that's exactly what happened when we had our Tiguan, just before it turned 6. I couldn't take the plan as the car was covered by extended warranty. Dealer serviced it 31st Aug, the plan started 1st Sep. Car was 6 on 2nd Sept. Yet they managed to charge the the service and MOT to All In. Our Skoda dealer insisted this was impossible, and also that All In could never be used on day it was taken out under any circumstances - they said it has to be 48hrs prior.

Merc E-Class E450D, just sayin'...
I live in Somerset, but come from Fife, and can vouch for the ease of travelling up there in my 2018 Superb SE Executive. I had it for 4 1/2 years and it never let me down. We parted company last month and so last weekend I rented a car from Enterprise for a trip to Stirling in Scotland. I had a Mercedes GLC which although nice wasn't a patch on my Superb. Getting a new Superb diesel next month, and can't wait. (But I'll have to)

OBD Eleven Mode Changes
2019 Octavia vRS Petrol Car starts in Normal mode. Press the vRS button to change the "mode" and you cycle through Sport, Custom, Eco and back to Normal. Press vRS button and it opens the mode menu. So if I want to move to Sport mode, I have to press vRS twice. Can I use OBDeleven to set it so I press vRS button once and it goes in to Sport Mode and THEN subsequent presses scroll through the options?

barn find felicia pickup.
Tried to get shocks from dingboro with no joy so ended up ordering some kyb bouncy guys, febi wheel bearings, and what MIGHT be the right rubbers for the strut top, we’ll see. I’ve also got a spot welder in the mail to make getting the bottom of the sill on more easily, I’ll just sell that on when I’m done. Tomorrow I plan to get the no jack warning painted on the axle, the hammer it’s has had plenty of time to settle.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Cheers Will - although have found that while the parking sensors work, the virtual pedal isn’t responding. I wonder if it’s quite sensitive to positioning and the diffuser has it sitting at a slightly different angle etc

Dongle for code reading & coding
On my old fabia I used to have an ultra gauge plugged in Which allowed me to read some data and any engine lights and clear them I used carista to code stuff like alarm beep, lane flash, MPH etc Now with the superb I would love to code a few things Maybe headlight DRL stripes, maybe rear DRL on And alarm beep to name a few But I really want to be able to read any codes that come up, need a half decent code reader To be able to read any future issues Any advice please

2022 1.0ltr Engine issue
SIL has a 22 plate Fabia with the 1.0 engine. Today she reports it felt like it lacked power after a cold start and a short drive. She turned it off and then it refused to start after extended cranking. I went about an hour later and it started up after a second or two cranking. At idle the car has a distinct chug noise that sounds a bit like a bit tractorish / vac leak and seems to be coming from the free end (belt side) of the engine. The odd thing is that it periodically stops as if a sensor or something is turning it off before it starts again. Ive never driven a 3 pot car (I have always had diesels) and know they have certain rhythm but I query if this one is missfiring. At a stand and in neutral it will only rev to just under 3k, is this a normal limited standing unloaded normal max? There is only an airbag light on (she reports this has been on a while) I only have a basic blue tooth OBD reader and torque app (my better reader is elsewhere) but it shows no faults. YT short of the noise Any ideas what is doing on?

Kodiaq steering wheel vibration
Herę You arę. Wrap the fabric wiring-harness tape around once, as shown in the photo, without any overlap. Once compressed, the tape is approximately 0.11 mm thick, resulting in a clearance of over 0.22 mm—I’m not sure if that’s considered significant or not, but it does affect how the wheel centers itself during installation. Also, I would suggest tightening the wheel bolts while the wheel is unloaded; lower the vehicle only enough to keep the wheel from spinning while you tighten them. Let me know if this helps in your case. I’d also appreciate hearing from others
