I have been looking at this too and I don’t think you can just add the extra buttons. If you look on the back of the buttons you will see 10 pins (two rows of 5). On my car (a mk 3 scout) it looked like the wires on the car side are not there. Not sure where the other side of the wires would end up the ECU maybe, maybe wiring diagram would help.

Some progress made. I thought while I wait for the new module come I would do some fault finding on the sensors. Luckily I started fault finding at the plug end. Starting by checking pinout. It would seem my eyes are not very good at distinguishing between 10 and 18 and I’d managed to pin one side of the plug backwards. Repinned it and now just the dataset faults remain. Hopefully the swapping if module corrects this.

The Skoda response really is just bull**** - it's clearly a corrosion issue and has absolutely nothing to do with whether mechanical parts were serviced or not... We've had Skoda's for 25 years now and I don't recall them EVER doing a bodywork inspection as part of servicing.

Is your 2025 Octavia is a facelift model? I’d assume so, else it’d be one of the last of the pre-fl models. What is your query about traffic and road closures? Mine has done that from day 1; really quite helpful. Maybe a function of your user permissions - something to do with location 🤷‍♂️ On my pre-fl car there is a setting to save the PIN in the infotainment system; yes, reduces security a bit but massively reduces the faff! I leave my climate control on Auto, with temps set at 21C +/-1; the car retains that setting. IIRC, that syncs to the Škoda servers ‘cos on the rare occasion my wife drives it as her user and sets different temperatures it sets back to my preference when my user is selected.

Skoda , Seat and VW UK and Germany, Spain and Czechia know a fundamental design and manufacturing fault and the corrosion comes from behind the metal and owner sees and behind the paint. So the have had 17 years to be sure Dealership employees check while doing body inspections. Issue a TPI /TSB. What ever some desk jockey says about not being corrosion is just the usual P!$$ take from their Customer Services / Warranty contractors.

Blimey that Alpine is ugly! Too much 'addenda' at the front and the wheels are awful! All in my opinion of course...

Our Kamiq was a bit late for its second service as the dealers leadtime was bonkers. Dealer assured us it'd be fine (famous last words). However if the car was on longlife servicing then it could go 2yrs between services (18500 miles) so I don't see why it should be problem. I suppose, as the first service is basically just an oil change and the second is a more extended inspection, then they might say the inspection is overdue.

There is three trips. Since refuel. Since start (which seems more like a "today" trip and then long term. The long term can be reset by the driver. I wondered the same thing myself when I set off for holiday a couple of weeks ago.

Are you ordering in the UK? The configurator you showed is German - as another poster said, I don't think elec seats are available in UK and they're not showing in the UK configurator.

Caffyns were actually very helpful and investigated and submitted a warranty claim. Skoda's reply was "it's not corrosion" so claim dismissed! Baffling. What is rust if it is not corrosion? I have now had to contact Skoda direct. Aaaargh!

Does the 2026 L&K superb have a trip odometer? I mean, a mileage counter that you can zero say at the start of a holiday and then read off the total distance travelled 2 weeks later? Looked in the digital and hard copy manual and found nothing. My 2017 model had a physical button you could press that did this, but the new car ...

Not found if the Alpine 290 is getting the same upgrades the R5 in the aero and battery department but it should see a few more miles range. I would be keen to try both the upgrade R5s and the upgrade Scenics, would avoid even more of the public charges. I also finally got Skoda to put on a genuine towbar for me. After unrelated customer service issues I got the retractable towbar for £1,500 rather than the original £2,000 quote! Not great as like everyone else I already had paid for a third party towbar. I can also confirm the car now tows great, no issues with the cars stupid safety features and can reverse without it having a hissy fit. And as mentioned the button release is convenient. I do wonder how long the dropping mechanism of the towbar will last before it starts to corrode and get stuck. Thinking about looking to make a plastic cover to fill in the gap in the under tray to at least stop most of the crud and salt getting to it.

No unfortunately not. Is it a new dataset required? There is a guy with odis at a local garage that I can go to if needed. Perhaps you could connect through him or provide dataset for him to load. I will try the other module I have ordered from eBay and if not will have to look at getting it trying the above!

Before Skoda UK would Authorise the repair to our vehicle under the 12 year anti-corrosion warranty they ensured that we had full service history including having had all the extended scope inspections carried out

I am pleased to say this matter has now been resolved for me. It appears there are now TWO genuine Skoda towbars available: a manually REMOVABLE towbar and an electric FOLDABLE towbar. Following my formal complaint, I was quoted £470 and £800 respectively for these two options, including installation and VAT. I realise these were very reasonable prices considering the other posts here. I was initially considering the cheaper DETACHABLE towbar and looked in detail at the installation guide. This Skoda towbar appeared almost identical to the Westfalia detachable towbar I had fitted already. It seemed rediculous to replace one towbar with another which was exactly the same and pay £470 for the privilege! However I recognised that the Skoda electrics may be different and in fact be the only ones the car would recognise. I queried this and asked if the Skoda electrics could be fitted to my existing Westfalia towbar? I was given a price of £259 for fitting the Skoda electrics only, with the proviso that the outcome could not be guaranteed, as it comprised a combination of genuine Skoda and third party products. In the end I opted for the more expensive FOLDABLE Skoda towbar, as at least I would be getting more functionality for my money. This was fitted in a day by my local Skoda dealer and is indeed a very good product, as described scotjimland1. I have towed for over 100 miles and the Proactive Occupant Protection System hasn't fired once. The car's software clearly recognises a trailer is attached and adjusts the car's safety systems accordingly. I can reverse without the rear parking sensors or rear automatic emergency braking activating. The maximum allowed road speed shows both the maximum for the road and the reduced limit for vehicles with trailers (e.g. 70 mph and 60 mph with a trailer icon). I expect these software changes work the same way with the DETACHABLE Skoda towbar. The FOLDABLE towbar is released with a very neat switch in the boot which matches other switches on the vehicle. Although this solution has cost me money to resolve what is really Skoda's problem, I concluded it was the best option in the circumstances to allow me to get on and enjoy caravanning again.
