Thanks for checking - it SHOULD be obvious whether or not a Fabia Mk4 has the cooling-shutter unit. Interesting that your 2026 Monte Carlo has the shutter-unit, but @Alvin600 's car evidently does not. I believe your car and @Alvin600's have the same 1.5litre engine and DSG transmission, so one might (perhaps!) expect them both to have a shutter-unit, or neither to have a shutter-unit.

Interested to know more. My mk2 octavia has already sill damage from previous owner/garage lifting it probably slightly wrong place. I too am not happy lifting on pinch welds either. Older cars I have had had a definite block in chassis that you put jack under. Lifting car with sill may be fine for changing a wheel but not if working on it. I generally try at front to get under console or at rear under control arm where it meets chassis. Then as a safety point put axle stand under pinch weld. Alasdair

retro fitting oil level sensor in the samp?
Hi everyone. My fabia mk2 1.6L 77kw 105Hp engine sump/oil pan got a crack in it because I overtightened it (stupid i know). I have bought the correct oil sump but when it arrived i noticed it has an oil level sensor precut in it. After a further look i noticed that My one has the precut plated shut. I thought that if i already got a new one I might as well retro fit the sensor if its not too hard of a job. Does anyone has/had any experience with retro fitting oil sensor of fabia mk 16L 16v? Uploaded photos of my old oil pan. Also here is the part seriel number number 02C 103 603 S Thanks for the help

These Powerflex ones look like a good idea, I am never that comfortable using the pinch welds. Are these a fit a forget solution and where exactly do they fit?

1.5 TSi - engine mods - intake / exhaust etc
I believe @tombee fitted and RPM res delete to his 220 and the local powerflow branch did the fitting.

Brakes sticking on
Time to find a new garage I think 🤔 He was able to reproduce the problem which I guess is the only bit of good news. His view is that for some reason the master cylinder is not releasing pressure when the pedal is released. Yep, don't need to be a genius to work that out. When he changed the master cylinder he wasn't able to source an original so used a pattern part. He said previously he's only ever used original parts when changing master cylinders. His thought is that the new master cylinder is slightly out of tolerance and is not releasing pressure. His advice is that I should try to source a second hand original part and he will fit it. Don't want to do this as the second hand part could quite easily be no better than the original one that was on the car. Quite disappointed with his attitude as have used his garage for a number of years. Anyway, have got the car back home and booked into a local Skoda specialist. I explained what had happened and they were quite happy to have a look. Perhaps they'll have a new customer in the future.

Superb Mk2 2008 Keyfob Part Number
Much appreciate your help with this, Pete 🙂 I've looked for the Skoda Part number on Aliexpress but no luck. Looks like there's no cheapo solution to the keyfob problem. Thanks for the info anyway.

Found chart from the workshop manual that shows difference in CR and camshaft timing between different engines. Though it may be useful.

Scala Monte Carlo Edition Options?
Hello, this is my first post here. I'm thinking of buying a new Scala Monte Carlo and have been looking at the list of options, I would appreciate members views on what are deemed 'Essential' options and what are not worth having. These are the options I'm considering; Skoda Sound System which comes with space saver spare wheel. Headlamp Washers. Variable Boot Floor. Assisted Drive package, The package integrates driver-assistance systems to enhance driving comfort. Predictive adaptive cruise control and adaptive lane assist keep the vehicle in lane and maintains speed and distance from the vehicle ahead. Convenience plus package with park assist, This pack adds park assist to the convenience plus package. Park assist is an automated system for pulling into and out of parking space - the system detects a suitable space for both parrallel and bay parking and assists with the manoeuvre, the Plus package also brings electrically operated boot with a virtual pedal to allow you to open and close the boot lid with ease. I would also like Underseat Storage Bins but cannot find them mentioned on Skoda site, but I'm sure I've seen them mentioned somewhere? Please comment with your thoughts on the above options and any others you may deem worthy of having. Thanks. Regards Walone.

My 2026 version does appear to have the cooling shutters & on first service around March 2027 will get the dealer to confirm this , no issues up to now !🫠

Timing stuck at 38
Not familiar with that engine. All mine were 1.9bxe but had a quick look online and if the G81 sensor fails or the needle lift sensor (yours reads within limits) the car reverts to default 38. If its not the G81 then may be wiring damage somewhere to either. Dont really trust AI but it came up with this to check G81 1. Check Group 007 in VCDS (The Live Data Test) Before buying parts, let VCDS tell you exactly what the G81 is seeing. Connect VCDS, turn the ignition on (engine off or idling). Go to Engine (01) -> Measuring Blocks (08) -> Group 007. Look at the field labeled Fuel Temp. The Verdict: If it reads an impossible number like -40.0°C or 130°C+, or if it doesn't closely match the ambient temperature of a cold engine, the sensor or its wiring is dead. The ECU is using a hardcoded fallback value, which locks your timing calculations. At this point its getting above my comfort zone. Alasdair

Thanks, yes, apologies, I only added that last pic as reference to the subfolders which I assume are all needed as well as the map regions data files. After deleting the items on the original SD card. I copy & pasted over the two unzipped portal update items that look identical to the ones that were on the original SD Card (see pic). Is that how/what you mean? Not sure why it's not reading the card as it's the same two items as they were, albeit the new update file and folder items. I'm kinda stuck here, and currently without any Nav at all, as I haven't tried copying back the original 2 items since sorting the disk space issue, prior to which, it wouldn't perform the task. Your help is most appreciated as I'm not the most tech savvy.- Jack Point
A little late to this, however I have just purchased my 2016 VRS Estate. Are these four lift points approved by Skoda as there is no mention of them in the Owners Manual and I don't yet have a workshop manual to check for any references in that. I did spot these at Powerflex that appear to fit in the four locations discussed but are different to the Audi / ECS one referred to earlier. Has anyone tried these? https://www.powerflex.co.uk/product-details/Jacking+Point+Insert+/13883.htmlLegend88 started following Jack Point- Skoda enyaq 2022 full electric won’t start after crash
@Jay787763 Has your issue been solved yet?- Kodiaq steering wheel vibration
Ive found on some polish forum that its possible that those OEM silentbock are to "soft". Some users replacw them Audi S3 silent block,- All In - anyone cancelled shortly after having a service, did you have to pay extra?
Found a post on one of the Tiguan forums where a poster was doing a lot of miles and needed two services per year. He bought All In at £29/mth during a discount period, had two services, then cancelled it after a year - had to pay a £39.32 settlement fee. So he got a minor and major service and MOT for just under £400 - way cheaper than it would have been paying normal dealer retail prices. I'm pretty miffed with our dealer - they were absolutely adamant that All In couldn't be taken out and used to pay for the service and MOT just before the car turns 3, yet Tiguan owners are reported their dealers could do it by setting up All In on the day the car was serviced.- Kodiaq steering wheel vibration
Dont think that Its halfshaft, i didnt have vibrations after some changes, but now i got some small, halfshaft will vibrate on acceleration. Steering rack has some difficulties and I hear some strange noises even when both shock absorbers are charged - No GPS Reception
