I saw multiple lanes on my display while driving up the A1 earlier this week, the first time since I got the car 18mths ago. It was a two lane road, I was in the inside lane using ACC set at 70mph. Multiple cars passed me in the outside lane, no indication of multiple lanes or cars in the display when they passed. When I approached a car doing about 60mph in the outside lane much to my surprise a second lane showed up in the display with a car icon in it. My car automatically slowed to match the speed of the car in the outside lane obviously complying with the no undertaking rule. The second lane indicator went away when the car pulled into the inside lane and it didn’t come back when I then changed lanes and passed the car…

I had a similar thing happened to me I was suffering in the car looking at a faulty speaker in the center console with the ignition on driver's door wide open no seat belt on and being told I must have knocked it into drive and off when the vehicle I mean discussions with Skoda UK as this is a safety concern if the door is already open handbrake does not stay engaged if the door is shut and you open the door it engages the handbrake I am waiting on to see what Skoda UK have to say about this problem being told by the dealer but the vehicle will move off if the door is open

Well, a nice dry trip both ways. Sadly no change on my screen still only showed One lane on both the m4 and M5 outbound. The return journey was via the A40 and M4 both only showed One lane. My Superb is a June 2025 build and on the older hardware/software. This must be the issue 🤷‍♂️

Don't you have to tell the car that they've been replaced? Also you need to know what you're doing for a start. I wouldn't have a clue what to do, so leave things alone! If you aren't trained to do it or know what you're doing leave it alone, otherwise you could either kill yourself or someone else as it's brakes or give yourself a bigger bill.

Allegedly there are only 2 brands authorised by VW group for newer vehicles. There are VCDS OBD11 3 As it’s only their new devices that can change more than the basic settings on cars 2 years old and newer (generalisation here of course ) If your car is new is with the latest software version, you’ll need to cough up the bucks. I’ have been looking at these off and on for 19 months (before I bought the Superb). Still haven’t made the decision (I’m not likely to be fit enough to do stuff myself for a few months yet tbo)

Can anyone explain this entry in the workshop manual? Am I safe to say the torque setting for the spark plugs is 28Nm? I don't know what the rest of the text is referring to. It doesn't appear anywhere else in the manual.

So Skoda Connect has always been a bit flaky for me, sometimes connecting and sometimes staying 'stuck' (offline with the red globe). When it's not connecting, it requires a system restart or unplugging and replugging the Skoda CarStick (it has an O2 SIM inside). I renewed my Skoda Connect subscription in August 2026 and since then it now seems a LOT worse. It's not connecting most of the time, and system restarts or unplugging and replugging the CarStick have no effect. I can tether to my mobile phone (Vodafone) instead of using the CarStick, but even this seems to drop connection randomly and I lose all of the live traffic flow data. I've tried different SIM cards to no avail. So I'm at a bit of a loss as to what is at fault here, but the common denominator seems to be the car itself. AI suggested it may be to do with the CarStick being a Huawei device that doesn't handle IPv6 properly, but I'm skeptical given that I get similar issues via mobile tethering. I contacted Skoda Connect who have advised me to book the car into the workshop. Wondering if I'm just throwing good money after bad at this point. I can use Android Auto, which I don't really like but better than having no live traffic data. If I hadn't just paid for another year old Skoda Connect I wouldn't mind so much... Anyone else had similar issues or any idea what could be done to resolve this?

Al I can add is that when ordering several new cabin trim parts for my 2016 mk3 vRS, I had to go to my local Seat dealer because Skoda's ETKA showed these parts as no replacement, while Seat had them freely in stock. Perhaps for the Scout you may find correct parts with correct colour there, but no guarantees. HTH.

For maximum positive improvement in comfort at minimum complication, you could go down to 6J to 7J wide x 16in wheels and use 205/60/R16 profile tyres (Octavia Scout wheel/tyre size), they will fit without suspension changes and provide big improvement in comfort, speedo will be exact. Note you need narrower and smaller diameter rims as well as narrower tyres. If you want to do more changes, as an example below is a setup for a 2016 Mk3 vRS that I own: It rides on narrow 6J x 17" black "Crystal" winter alloys (that are actually approved even for 340mm petrol vRS brakes) with 205/55/R17 all weather tyres (Michelin CrossClimate 2). Rear springs have been uprated by 2 groups to 5Q0511115AF (currently Lesjofors 4285741), and the rear shocks to Bilstein Sport B6 B6 24-229890. Note by far the easiest way to install new springs and shocks on multilink is to take out (and replace) 3 outer bottom arm bolts each side rather than mess with spring compressors. Also note front assist radar needed to be adjusted upwards by 1/2 turn. The 205/55/R17 tyre size is a Mk3 Scout tyre size. The higher springs together with slightly higher profile tyres make for about 1in higher ride height at front, and about 2in higher ride height at rear compared to stock vRS, I guess it'd be 1/2in over stock front and 1in higher back at rear when compared to Elegance. After 70k+ miles, the setup offers comfort, durability and robustness, even on very poor quality roads, it also offers somewhat increased ground clearance. Behaviour on motorway is actually better than stock, both for stability and comfort. Cornering is still good, unless you want track driving . Additional bonus is that when the car is full of luggage, it still has a good stance on autobahn which helps with air drag and fuel consumption, as well as stability at 120mph+ speeds (autobahn). This is not the first time I made similar changes, on my previous Mk1 Superb TDI V6 I had B6s all round, sport front springs, and HD rear springs and the effect was similar, drove over 200k miles in that one, significant part of it on shockingly poor roads. HTH

Getting this repeatedly in my Karoq. Typically use CarStick but even using mobile tethering it's still either not connecting or regularly dropping. Have contacted Skoda Connect who want me to book into a dealer. .

Did our first long(ish) run in the beast last week. Heater blower runs fine for half an hour then goes off. Stop for a coffee etc, start up and it comes back on for a while. Confused.com

Morning. By chance I stumbled across someone who had a pair of OEM new old stock that I nabbed (waiting for them to arrive). I saw a lot of Chinese non OEM ones about that had good reviews and was going to grab a set of those and saw these. I’ll let you know if no good! Just need another couple of years out of The superb - hoping to get it past 300k miles

It will depend if you go original skoda parts or aftermarket. Did my mk2 octavia for around £70 in parts using apec discs and pads. Its not a VRS so factor a bit more for larger discs. You could put your reg in https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/ and see what price decent disks and pads are. Cant see it taking more than an hour or two labour to change them. Alasdair

Hello, I'm looking for the same thing, when I bought the car the old owner replaced the electric telescopes with classic ones and now I'm looking to replace them with electric ones like the factory car was. I noticed that the OEM ones are very expensive. Maybe we can find some AFM at a reasonable price. Maybe we can get an answer from someone who has already replaced them.

Hi JR RS, could you please give more details about this? Is the wiring/pin order in the wiring harness different for B headlights than the A ones? Or are they 100% plug n play?

Yup. Used vw Audi workshop for servicing work for a couple of years and been very happy. And James’s place is a spin off from it so should be as good. No idea on panel work but as it’s a bolt on bolt off job there’s no reason they shouldn’t be good for it.

150 bhp with a remap maybe. Talk to the tuner / remapper you plan on using. Plenty threads and posts that might help in the Fabia Mk3 section on tuned / remapped 1.2 TSI,s or in the Fabia Project section. Even in the Rapid section.

@MCollings selecting a place is always best down to recommendation from personal experience. If Binx is happy with it and he’s been there, that’s what you’re looking for 👍🏼

I meant to say I run 94v on mine as I used to take a fair load as its an estate. Its not much of an increase (about 50kg per tyre but it helped when car was fully loaded especially at rear. The GT radials are I think classed as comfort tyres and I found them better on rough roads etc. Handling is still pretty good but I wouldn't fit them to a VRS. Alasdair
