  2. Your figures are right. One thing to watch when you redo them, as the smooth bolt has a set order and it's easy to get the 200 Nm stage wrong: 1. With the car on its wheels, crack the old bolt but don't undo it more than about 90°. 2. Jack it up so the wheel is off the ground, have someone hold the brake pedal, and take the bolt out. 3. Fit the new bolt and do the 200 Nm with the wheel still off the ground and the brake held. 4. Lower it onto its wheels, then do the final 180°. Don't move the car between taking the old bolt out and the final angle, because the bearing doesn't like carrying weight with the bolt loose. The smooth one is a stretch bolt, so use a new one each time rather than putting the 70 + 90 one back in. For the 180°, a long bar and an angle gauge makes it a lot easier, or mark the socket and the hub with paint and go half a turn.
  3. This does not work on all cars. Open the car with the key remote. Physically open the boot, but have the rest of the doors closed. Lock the car using the key remote. Put the key in a faraday bag. Place the key/bag in the boot. Close the boot. Thanks. AG Falco

  5. Hi, I have a Skoda Octavia estate '20 plate. In the centre console we have a 12v power socket. This used to be held in place by a small piece of black plastic/black glue(?) that used to go between the console itself and the metal of the socket. It was visible from the car, i.e. not underneath/inside the console itself. Over time this black surround/glue perished and cracked to the point where it has now come off completely and there is nothing holding the power socket in place. It just sits in a hole but is completely loose. Had anyone else experienced this? And/or does anyone know how to fix this? Suggestions online seem to talk about there being some sort of screw on ring on the back (inside the console) but I'm pretty sure ours doesn't have that and was just held in place by this shiny black surround. I'm also going that's the case as otherwise it'll mean removing the centre console which seems like a way bigger job. Any help, advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Ash

  12. Dau has wiped the passenger side of my 2017 1.6tdi estate down another vehicle on the M1 (all safe thank god). I'm thinking just replacing the doors might be cheaper than getting them mended & there seems to be plenty on eBay. Clearly, the rear door is specific to the estate but what about the front? Are the saloon & estate the same? I can swap all the internals inc wing mirror so I'm assuming trim won't matter, just the race blue paint code. Simon

  16. ah, seems these HEROs have the vague guide I need! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRWqAoYIfCI
  17. The springs lowered the car 20 mm. The rims r Rotiform LAS-R 19x8.5" ET35. Tyres r 245/40R19.
  18. First check that the microswitch in the door is giving a signal to the system by checking that the door open icon is showing on the display when you open the door. Is the passenger door and rear doors the same?
  19. App doesn't offer this functionality on older mk 4's, mine from 2020/21 isn't supported
  20. Hello everyone. My question is: the interior lights don't come on when I open the doors. What should I check, and how? Could it be that the panel in the overhead trim needs replacing? Thanks to everyone for the help. @Isu1977 Kérjük, vedd figyelembe, hogy a Briskodán az angol az alapértelmezett nyelv. Hozzászólás írásakor kérjük, használj fordítóeszközt.

Went for Graphite Grey metallic. Staying low key, although was tempted by the velvet red!
  22. Here is my UK 2026 2.0d 150 SE L. Love it so far. A few frustrations with some of the tech, but thats the nanny world we live in now I guess.
  23. Hi there, thank you for accepting me. Its great to find an old school forum for the skoda. Just bought a mk2 Kodiaq Sel 2.0d 150 back in September so its a 2026. Loving it! Sold my 2014 mk7 golf in 2021, went to a focus estate, biggest mistake of my life! Glad im back in the VAG family. Looking forward to getting to know the community. Catch you soon.
  24. Appreciate that! Always handy to know someone with tools like that

  26. Typically you don’t bring 6 year old threads back…. That said are you doing long or town journeys? If short journeys then the first few miles when cold use much more fuel. Otherwise check tyre pressures and try replacing the fuel filter and air filter. The number of diesel’s see thumping out plumes of smoke, because the filters clearly haven’t been maintained. One other thing to check would be that the oil/filter have been changed and you’re not driving around with treacle in the engine.
  27. Skoda dealer will definitely be able to print you off the build sheet from Erwin. I used to have access but my account got revoked as they don’t allow private people access anymore. I did manage to download all the workshop manuals for superb if you need any. Won’t have your engine and gearbox but all the rest will be relevant.
  28. That’s mad. I was speaking to Skoda HQ today. Trying to find out all the build specs for it. Not sure if the buckets are heated. Collect weds morning and can’t wait!
  29. If the situation requires you not to take your electronic key, why would you take a tablet or smart phone with you?
  30. Also. Fun fact. Your reg starting with K makes it likely it was a car of VAG management as it’s first owner.
  31. How low are the springs? What’s your wheel specs for aftermarket. Looks what I’m after!
  32. Hi I have the same problem here 40 mpg I’m expecting 60 mpg at least
  33. I also see it makes sense, however it still came as a complete surprise. Bit like when I had a BMW 5 series and tried to reverse into a part of our drive, opened the door to lean out and look back and it slammed the brakes on. I’d been doing that trick for decades when it was needed, but not in the beemer! Will try that in Skippy when I get back from Morocco. 👍
