  2. I also see it makes sense, however it still came as a complete surprise. Bit like when I had a BMW 5 series and tried to reverse into a part of our drive, opened the door to lean out and look back and it slammed the brakes on. I’d been doing that trick for decades when it was needed, but not in the beemer! Will try that in Skippy when I get back from Morocco. 👍
  3. I also upgraded from a Fabia although I that was a downgrade from a previous superb. Eibach pro kit is the go to for lowering. Have a search on this forum and there’s a table to choose the correct kit. Not done it to mine yet but it’s on the cards potentially. Lots of things you can do on a relatively small budget. Mostly mine has been fixing up issues plus some styling mods including all LED bulbs. Made my SE L into a sportline lookalike.

  6. @pab567 It looks like you’re the guy to help with possible CarPlay upgrades. here are photos of my hardware, software, and firmware packages. Is there an upgrade path for my 2016 Octavia Mk3? VIN <Removed>

  9. So I’m trading in my 2014 MK2 Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSi For a 2018 MK3 Superb Estate Sportline 1.5TSi 150 Fancied a bigger car from the fabia, didn’t want Octavia’s like most upgrade to, and always fancied an estate! I absolutely love the interior on it (unsure if my buckets are heated) And there’s about 5000 toys I’m going to need to get used to! Do plan some mods Aftermarket wheels Remap And workout best way to lower it. Honestly I can’t wait now Show me your estates 👌

  11. Hello all. Have taken advantage of my employers salary sacrifice scheme via Octopus to order a new Skoda Epiq on a 3-year lease. It's a 55 Edition, in Black (only colour available unfortunately), due sometime in December. Currently have a 14 plate Mazda 6 estate which I really like, but Mrs X_CAB has never got on with. We don't need the volume anymore, but still need a reasonable boot space for allotment tip runs. Also, we are restricted on driveway space, so balancing length, and more importantly, width, against load space. Looking forward to learning about this new hitec vehicle. I hear it has built in DAB 😄

  13. Thank you definitely would appreciate all you learned doing this and thanks for the link I will take a look.

Ditto - but you ordered a few weeks before me. What colour did you order? I think there is going to be at least a few weeks delay though due to supply issues. Not bothered though as hopefully by then the softwares experienced by many recent MY27 owners may have been resolved?
  15. Happy to share knowledge and lessons learned. It’s amazing when you do two sides how slow and cumbersome the first side and how you do the second side so quickly and easily. BTW just saw these on a Facebook MQB Classified post: Whiteline front droplinks for sale
  16. Why do you bother with the physical key? The Skoda app has remote locking / unlocking function.
  17. Ianhar started following DSG issues ?
  18. On 18000 miles ish now and maybe a gearbox issue, had a few times when it seems to be unsure of what gear to be in, and on one occasion pulling out pf a junction, no drive at all, engine revs rise but no forward motion, then it started to pull away. Anyone else had issues ? Car will be in for a service soon and will mention it then, but without them experiencing it i doubt they will investigate anything.
  19. Thank you everybody, sorted now.
  20. 2011 Red Monte Carlo 1.6 cr tdi (105) Reg 23rd November 2011 New to me 3rd June 2026 Standard just now with options of Full Size Spare Wheel and Cruise Control Planned Team Heko Wind Deflectors, New badges, Amundsen, Lowering Springs, Rear Anti Roll Bar, Wheel Refurb and new Rubber. Only done 61k with full Skoda Service History. Few wee bits of paint to sort out but pretty clean and goes quite well.
  21. Ah that makes sense. Had it in my head it was a safety thing. Alasdair
  22. I did it on my 2025 Monte Carlo Edition with OBDELEVEN. It's one of the pre coded options in the app and you can select either start off or on or alternatively you can set it to remember the last setting, which is the one I chose. I then turned it off from the steering wheel and it remains off until I choose to change it.

Also queued up for an 85 Sportline, from Marriott Ipswich. Ordered 7 August, build started week 40, but no news yet. Was originally quoted end November, so in line with your dates. Added a Maxx pack, Winter pack and Towbar.

  27. I believe the feature is to prevent the wipers catching on the hood lip when it's open.

  29. I see, thank you for the help in any case!
  30. It's not possible to do it on the pre facelift cluster by just enabling an option like you can on the facelift cars. You'll need something such as this to do it. https://fis-control.de/index_en.html
  31. Wipers caught me out as well. Had been servicing car and started it to get car upto temp to check oil level. Had changed wipers and went to check they were aligned ok and nothing. Moment of panic as well. Seems an odd safety feature?? Alasdair

  33. Hi @christy_berserk. For me it happens straight away as soon as i start the car at home or anywhere i am parked at work or shops and it's always been normal at these locations don't know if anything has changed at these locations and it's never happened as I'm driving. Maybe it has something to do with power transformers I'll have to look into it. Fortunately I've managed to get get it to work properly again and it hasn't for now at least had any issues been ok for 2 days now. I'll see tomorrow if it has problems connecting. I'm hoping it won't happen again. Thanks again for your suggestion.

  35. Hi everyone! Last month, I bought a used Nov 2023 Superb L&K 2L TSI - loving it so far! My previous cars were a 2014 Fiesta ST, then a 2021 A-Class, so this is a very different car, and very welcomed! I'm excited to learn more about my car, and potentially do some subtle tweaks/upgrades. I'm now all about comfort and style - I think I found the right car!

  38. Go for it mate, was very straight forward. I actually need to do mine again as I broke a vane using a cheap phone holder.
  39. No hadn’t considered that as a solution. Is that why the alarm hies off - because the keys are inside?
