Autodoc have many different businesses online (looking like UK based firms) but the same problems can arise. Look carefully at the delivery times and ask Ai where the business is based if in doubt. I always find out the correct VW or Skoda part number and make sure I know exactly what the part looks like. This often rules out mistakes which sellers make on their listings.

If you put a fuse in the wrong place there should be an empty socket with two terminals/contacts inside the socket for the fuse to connect to. Blank/unused fuse spaces tend to only have one or none at all. I had a look at the picture close up and cant see any with double contacts empty so maybe a fuse is in the right place and has blown. Did you pull fuses with battery connected as it can cause certain ones to blow. Also check the fuses in engine compartment near battery. Alasdair

When roadworks have closed a road Google Maps has always shown an alternative route. Google maps is constantly updated as apposed to built-in sat-nav having periodic updates.

While I am no fan of Autodoc, if you know exactly what you want (as opposed to asking Autodoc staff), parts are cheap and of good quality and I have used them several times in the past. The trouble being that "knowing exactly what you want" means down to an exact original manufacturer's part number, not just a Skoda part number. It costs quite a bit more research on internet. Autodoc do have an add on where you pay a bit more and can return unused parts within 6 months with them paying the return shipping, so if you have doubts best to use this service. For Skoda parts when I want to get exactly what is needed, I have been using a Czech shop skoda-parts.com for many years now. Consistently very good service and parts advice providing both original Skoda parts and good quality alternatives, and when they mess up even a tiny bit, they ship replacements without fuss. I steer clear of most UK parts shops nowadays, as sadly, the prices seem to be marked up 50%+. For example, a few months ago I have actually bought 2 Lesjofors suspension springs with delivery to the UK at skoda-parts.com for the price of an identical single Lesjofors spring at e.g. GSF and Eurocarparts. Also anyone got a VIN for the higher power engine ? As the after market radiators from the likes of GSF don't show a core sizing any different between the 150 and 190 models. So want to check on ETKA

Does lights left on audible warning work if you go to exit vehicle having left lights on? I'm thinking that maybe the car isn't aware of door opening; most likely because of a broken wire in door bellows.

Update : Breezy_Pete you could be onto something regarding the driver's door. This morning I got daughter to start car after pausing with only the ignition on for 10 to 15 seconds before turning the key to start. It started perfectly normally. Where can I see a circuit diagram for my 2011 Mk2 Fab, so I can check out the door lock and priming functions circuit and wiring?

@Maureenb This forum us very well supported, also compared to Facebook groups it’s much easier to search for information and knowledge.

Obviously it means that a brake pad (or two) has worn down somewhat. But which pads ? Front or Rear ? By how much ? (How much pad is left ?) Unfortunately, removing wheels to view pads is not currently an option. (The previous owner allowed a lazy tyre fitter to over-tighten several wheel nuts !) Thanks Octavia Estate vRS 2018

I saw you have also looked on the Facebook Karoq Group - where I also post - you have liked my reply. The 2.0 TDI Karoq is a good tow car. On the 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TSI (which I have) Towbar prep is just the wiring that runs from the front to the rear of the car. On the smaller engined Karoqs it can include additional cooling modifications which the larger Karoqs are built with in the factory. My Karoq did not have a towbar fitted when I bought it. I had the Skoda Factory fit towbar fitted by RichterSport in Bletchley (Milton Keynes) and they did an excellent job. The Skoda Factory fit towbar swivels down from under the bumper by pressing a switch in the boot, so dead easy to deploy and put away when not in use. The electrics all work perfectly -because it was coded using the correct Towing module. Connecting the trailer/caravan 7 or 13 pin plug into the towbar socket informs the Karoq's electrical systems so that the revised coding is used. This means Parking Sensors are disabled, Reversing camera alters its view to show the towball, Emergency braking at the rear is disabled when reversing, ABS and other system also adapted to the addition weight when towing. Avoid any installer who tells you a Bypass relay will be fine -it won't be. The old school wiring method of splicing into the cars lighting cables is potentially very risky - there was an example of this about 10 years ago on the VW Touran Forum, caused around £1500 of damage to various electrical modules. A 2024 Karoq can be correctly coded - you may have to search for a dealer who is able to do it, fortunately you don't have a 2025 or 2026 Karoq, because although they can still be coded its much harder finding a dealer who is willing to do it. I read the manual 30 months ago, to find out how enter post codes, when I didn't find it mentioned I (wrongly) assumed it wasn't possible. I had always used Post Codes on my standalone Garmin devices, and I recently learnt Skoda's Sat Nav uses Garmin technology. I use the built in Sat Nav all the time. @Sanqhar yes rural postcodes can cover a wide area. The post code I was using yesterday was actually on a road that was closed due to roadworks, my usual route was along the part that was physically impassable. The sat nav knew the road was closed, but was trying to route me to the start of the closed section and couldn't provide a distance or arrival time. Luckily I knew how get to a point where I could approach from the opposite direction but not how to navigate the country lanes at that point, fortunately the Sat Nav then took over and routed by directly to the destination.

One option might be to try the seats in other Karoqs - for example the electric seats or Sportline seats may provide a lower seating position. I'm 6' 4" tall and and due to a neck injury 20 years ago have to sit quite upright, backrest not reclined much. The drivers seat is lowered but not to its lowest setting and I have plenty of head room. Its the first car I have owned in the last 30 years where the sun visor is actually needed. I have a Sportline which has the Sports seats and a Pan roof so maybe that helps'

Just heavy rain like stotting on the roof. As Forestv Gump must surely have known. Hopefully someone can help with this Rather Important Issue. All my vehicles get Wind Deflectors fitted as i have dogs in the car. Some have been EV,s so regularly sat in while charging and windows open.

Probably too late but the water pump isn't a bad job if you are a competent diy'er. Being at the 'wrong' end of the engine there is no need to touch the cam belt. I have just done this job on my daughter's car which had a very small coolant leak. The pump is driven by its own tiny little toothed belt via a pulley on the gearbox end of the cam. You can buy just the pump but it's much easier to buy the pump complete with its plastic housing which apparently are prone to cracking anyway. The housing/pump comes with a new thermostat inside as well so you are killing 3 birds with one stone! I used an aftermarket Febi pump. You can replace the belt at the same time but it was out of stock and anyway I found it to be in perfect condition at 45,000 miles so I reused it. There is little driving strain on it unlike a cam belt.

To quote Forrest Gump, it would have to be sideways rain to get into the car under the titled sunroof. There is a drip edge and drainage tubes than can handle most light rain without getting the car wet inside. Also it would only be a worst case scenario; if I knew there was rain on the way I wouldn't leave anything open. And it feels more secure having just the sunroof open rather than windows down if I was leaving the car parked on a street somewhere. Also wind deflectors on the windows aren't really an option in my opinion. They're very noisy and more hassle than they're worth i think.

I doubt you can change the rails or seat frame. Best see an car interior trimmer to reform your seat.

Over the past few years on various Skoda's and other cars I've used Vredestein SporTrac, Falken Azenis FK520, Falken Zeix ZE310 Ecorun, MIchelin Cross Climate, and Goodyear Vector4 Seasons. I've also got some old Goodyear Hydragrip and Goodyear EagleVentura and have also used Vredestein HiTrac and my daughter's Citigo has Falken Sincera SN110 and iLink L-Grip 55 (the latter not fitted by me) which are all decent. Choices I would NOT use are Goodyear NCT and Goodyear Eagle F1 and Dunlop SP01 Sport as I've had them and they were poor.
