  2. I wish sone one had told me when I was young "If it aint broke don't fix it" The blunders I made. In later life someone also told me the thing you worry about rarely happens ,but the real problems are the ones that come unexpectedly out of the blue.
  3. Just checked and my currently intalled software version is 2768
  4. Thanks. If it's the pump, would coolant still leak when the car is not being driven.
  5. Most obvious is to check for signs of coolant on the block or general area below the vehicle when parked. Most likely failure is unfortunately the water pump already mentioned. Expansion caps have been known to fail and leak as well.
  6. As for Insurance I know what you mean. We used Marmalade insurance for my son while he learned to drive. Bought a 1.2htp mk1 for him to learn as all our other cars were 1.9tdi or larger. I put the car on my policy and marmalade covered my son while he learnt. My NCD was protected and was cheapest way we could find. Immediately he passed his test he wasnt covered as its for learners only. Think they do a Blackbox scheme if he has the car in his name. Alasdair
  7. Yes, but it's a situation that has been designed in, whether intentionally or as a flaw that didn't need to be there and you shouldn't have to make adjustment to pull away smoothly. Making an adjustment is fine if you have time to do it and not under pressure. You shouldn't need anti-stall anyway. I've driven countless cars over the years and can count the number of times I've stalled on one hand and that was usually due to having a manual choke! And I've rarely been with other drivers who have stalled either. Sounds like another of those solutions where none was needed and is more hindrance than help.
  8. Today
  9. Coolant level has been falling since the summer. It seems to be mainly happening after drives, although it did also drop a little when it wasn't driven for five weeks. Ive been topping up with G13 coolant as needed, but it's just putting off the inevitable imvestigation. No obvious leaks in the hoses. Really hoping it's not the water pump. Before i take it to the garage, what could i check myself? TIA
  10. Thank you everyone. It appears that it was fitted with the same wiper arm that was used on the 2015 S2 estate cars
  11. 2025 Fabia SE Edition, intermittent loud creaking from passenger side. Comes and goes sounds like a crisp packet being scrunched.

  13. Not sure on yours but on the MK1 the drivers side controller/motor also controls passenger side. My sons was the same and Breezy Pete on here repaired it for me. Get in touch with him if he hasnt already seen post. Excellent service. From memory there a couple of components that fail and stop it working. Check fuses etc first and also wiring at drivers door pillar/rubber gaitor in case theres broken wiring which is fairly common. Alasdair
  14. I just ordered a used MIB2 from 2015 Fabia to my 2014 superb. I've read this whole thread, but I'm still wondering how can I bypass component protection and what exactly i have to do with wires? Are they plug and play with old RNS315? Car does not have reverse camera.
  15. Whats your cars mileage? Sounds like clutch is starting to slip. You have 6 speed dsg? 🤔

  19. That's interesting, thanks. Apparently the early version of the MK4 Superb manual mentioned scheduling, and the 'Immediate charging to 80%' button only makes sense if scheduling was available.
  20. Hi there. This has just happened to me this morning but people at my work say that there isn't a heating element in the lumbar support but when looking online for parts it shows the heating element covers the lumbar supports. Do you have any photos ot it. Ill show you what I found this morning.
  21. My Daughters boyfriend has recently bought a Skoda Fabia 1.2TSI Monte Carlo (61 Plate 09/2011) for his first Car. The car is really clean, drives well and has a full service history. On getting the car home we've noticed both the Driver and Passenger Electric Windows are not functioning. I've read quite a few really good Threads in this forum that may help me find the fault, however I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for getting hold of a wiring diagram for the Window Controls and maybe help with Part Numbers for Door Controls and Window Controller Module. The car is not on the road yet, due to the Insurance being really expensive if the cover started immediately. (Saved £800 if cover started in 3 weeks) As I was with him when he bought the car, I feel a little responsible and was hoping to help him resolve the issue, even if it costs me. He's only just past his test a few weeks ago and was really disappointed when he found the fault with the windows...........
  22. Hi everyone, Is there a way to see which version of the software is currently installed on the car and which is the latest update available at the time? I have taken the car (Octavia vRS Combi 2025) in today for its first service and I told them that the infotainment screen had given me a glitch 3-4 maybe 5 times since last October that I purchased the car. They called back now saying that there is an update and the car will need to stay in overnight - maybe even 2 days - since the update is large and needs time to install. I will book an appointment to take it in next month as I need the car now. I've read that some updates give more issues on the 4.5 (if I remember correct) hence why I'm asking what the latest update is and how to see whats currently installed? Is the update something that's recomended to do or should I leave it for a later date? When I dropped the car off this morning they said it had no campaigns or updates and now I'm told there's an update(?) Thanks everyone WhatsApp Video 2026-11-04 at 14.18.11.mp4

  24. I have just stumbled across a report about TAKATA Airbags which have been fitted to many Skodas. When the airbag is triggered they become lethal bombs. Takata does not exist any more but they have developed a cheaper airbag in 2004 and it has been fitted by many manufacturers until 2018. They have used Ammoniumnitrate tablets as the driver for the airbag when it deploys. Ammoniumnitrate will degrade over time and the tablet will become a dusty substance and this will not produce gas in a controlled fashion but explode ripping everything around it apart and shoot metal shrapnel towards the driver and passenger and killing them. Recalls have happened but many manufacturers have dragged their feet - VAG being among them. I have just checked my old car - an SII L&K - which I sold a couple of years ago and this DOES have a Takata airbag and it has NOT been recalled. I am not sure if I put this thread into the appropriate section. Maybe moderators can swap it.
  25. Thank you for this. Also, note taken on the images :) I shall look into those suggestions. I think the code usually appears after a longer drive or heavier acceleration (after meaning it’ll pop up after this once it’s been at idle or on 30 roads for a few mins). But I would still say a bit sporadic
  26. I loved my fabia, especially when I put it on Porsche wheels! But kept the wheels and moved onto a much better car. Was sad for a bit but new car is so much nicer 👌
  27. Thanks for your response. I can’t do anything myself. I could tart up the black wheels but not the supercharger ! It’s done 150k miles so won’t get much I’m sure but it would be a wonderful first car.
  28. Hi, welcome. This is the Mk3 forum, you may get more help in the mk2 forum. @Lee01 can you move the post?
  29. The Vredesteins have been very good so far compared with the Cross Climates. Good in the wet, quiet and noticeably better rolling resistance if you go off now much further it stays in a coast if you have that function enabled on the DSG box. Maybe slightly firmer ride, but very marginal. If we get and ice and snow this winter, will report if I got stuck or not !
