  1. Finished the suspension off, gave her a quick blast around block and alls well, still seems a nice ride I’ll get some more miles in her this week and report back, nice subtle drop
  2. This specific forum will disappear in a few days. clubs will become a top level menu item next to forums. the content will appear in the activity/unread just as it does now, so if anything that’s a higher billing. there are a lot of forums. The most common bit of feedback I get is…. It’s too confusing where stuff is. Most of this is related to the model forums. But the additional forums on many levels just distracts and takes up space. Clubs in a way give it a whole clean layer to exist within. Most folk won’t join the forum to post about a run. Once you’ve been around a bit, the community/ancillary side takes on more importance. hth.
  3. I had this issue on mine and I resolved it by changing the fluid and bleeding the clutch its a quick easy job so might be worth a shot.
  4. Many, many times - seems my PC 'auto-corrected' can to cannot as I intended to type this
  5. Hi all, I've been kicking this around for a while, forgot to update you. 🤔. TL;DR; I'm aiming to offset our communities impact on the planet at https://ecologi.com/briskoda To that end, I personally do stuff, but I'm looking at the community, our impact, principally in delivering the community to you. I invite you to read on for yourself too. I had a few options, like a co2 neutral data center etc... That maywell happen when I can find one I think is a good match. In the short term though, I'm planting trees and buying co2 offset on behalf the forum. Which is essentially guesstimating how many tonnes of CO2 we burn for the servers/laptops to provide the forum. I've hooked up with Ecologi , if you signup to offset your personal CO2/trees, the planet gets bonus trees. CO2 The co2 is fairly easy, I'm covering it in excess this year. I'm also lumping in any miles I do for briskoda, which is nada so far this year. The assumption for our servers/network is roughly 430kWh per month in electricity. There is more in the whole chain, but it's almost impossible to calculate. This is about 754 miles driving for an average family car, or 300 ish kgs of CO2. I can only offset in tonnes, and the minimum is two tonnes. So this is easy, we're offsetting 2 tonnes per month. This I believe covers the pico/milliseconds of energy use over the millions of devices brisky data passes over to reach your eyes. Trees Trees, quite a few need to be planted for all the paper we've all used over the years. So inline with the overall goal of 1%, this roughly equates to 100 trees on top of the CO2 offset per month. Your own tree Each month from April 2021 we'll 'gift' a tree to a member. These are trees in the uk, with a what three word reference. You can save that and watch it grow from space I guess... in theory you can even go and give it a hug. Each month from the contributors to this topic/purchasers of tree clumps via our shop, all become eligible for each month. So buy once, your in the pot till I get bored, or the whole planet is a forest, in which case I'll be long gone, and so will you, mother nature 1, human 0. Month Winner April 2021 TBD The Future? There are some personal goals, I have quite a polluting hobby, driving lots of miles to climb a bit of rock. I'll be covering those of personally. Looking forwards for the community, there is much I think I can and we can do. I'm going to sit down one day and try to figure out the total since 2002... bit of fag packet maths required and it will have to be an overestimation too, especially for the miles driven for briskoda fun and business. So here's where your input comes in , thanks for reading this far too. Before I go much further, any other suggestions or schemes, maybe closer to home? I did email a few uk projects but no response, or not deep enough pockets, which brought my sad face on. If you want to add a tree or too, you can. Either under your own account, or add to the briskoda plantation/co2. : https://ecologi.com/briskoda and finally, they do have a uk tree planting scheme... which is what I was waiting for, although a tree is a tree. Thoughts? Each month I' also purchasing a UK tree planting slot. These are given initially to tree planters and other special awards. When exhausted or a spare slot, they will be awarded to a random member of freedom each month. 6. Made some RallyFlapz to fit with the Rieger skirts... and fitted some Briskoda decals.
  7. Reading through the What3Words allocations, I seem to have the most bad ass spot in the forest lol
  8. There might be *IF* there is and that's a vanishingly small if... It will be closed and content will only appear to those members. There will also be a set of very tight rules to agree to on joining said club. So not like any club of the eton mess.
  9. Oooo this sounds interesting. Will there be a politics club
  10. fitted a maxton front splitter and waxed the car for the first time in a year!!
  11. The insurance company have been somewhat 'difficult' to deal with regarding the valuation. First of all they wanted the list of options, then they wanted the prices, then the list of options had to come from a Skoda dealer. They also wanted me to provide examples of used vehicles that were the same mileage and spec as my car. Given the current used car market, that equivalent car doesn't exist. What I could prove was for what they were offering I could only buy a basic spec vRS with much higher mileage. Anything with a spec approaching mine had far less mileage. It has taken a lot of calls and finally a conversation with the assessor to actually agree some common sense. They have now, finally, offered a settlement value which is fair, and that's all I wanted, but it took a long time to get there.
  12. well, i did some googling last night and found a guy selling a peruzzo 3 bike new cruiser for 20quid about a mile from my front door. itll do the job for now, given the price of the Thule ones and the farthest ill carrying the bike for the next while will be 10miles. so unless its wrecked it shoukd be fine. hes only selling as someone got him a roof mounted rack as a present. hed also cut the price from 30 to 20 only 2 days ago
  13. Managed to change the ballast from the wheel arch! 'Blind', and hardly room far any tools, just the bit and tiny pliers. Turned out to be unbrako/hexagon screws (two, not three), not torx. Visible moisture short ciruit oxidation/damage inside the ballast connection. Installed used/refurbished ballast workes fine! PHEW - happy camper!
  14. According to the BBC Radio 4 today the first self driving (driverless) cars are being trialled from today in Milton Keynes. Must be the first trialled in 2022. (is this without 'remote drivers' being involved?,) Must be the first moving footballers from their stadium to the training ground and with a controller being in charge of the car remotely. Surely not the first selfdriving or is that driverless cars on UK roads as the BBC news readers are saying. https://fleetnews.co.uk/news/latest-fleet-news/connected-fleet/2021/12/02/fetch-driverless-car-hailing-trial-starts-in-milton-keynes This article is from over a month ago. 'There is a remote driver'. ie a driver not in the car or is that a person that can take over control remotely if required? Tested among the public in MK in 2016. So not the Queens Highway but a place open to the public. Pavements around the train station. http://bbc.co.uk/news/technology-37618574 2013 http://bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25230483 The UK is always a world leader. It leads from behind and takes a long time thinking about things while paying various people millions to hurry up and get no place fast. 2021.
  15. With VCDS if you go into controller 17 (Instruments) and the measuring blocks it will give you the resistance value and if you hover your mouse pointer over that block it will give an upper & lower resistance value

Bought a superb elegance 4x4 lastweek and had no bend lighting appear with the orange bulb light. Changed the front level sensor on the suspension arm and fault is away. Just incase anyone else has this fault. Cheers
  17. Why don't you get the tyres fixed so they stay properly inflated for a start.
  18. So new year and I could not resist a bit of tinkering... and that is my cover story for having not gotten around to this sooner... (like last year). There is a feature of the software that we've largely ignored. Trying to find a good use for it. Well, after a bit of thought and looking... We may have one and the health hub is the first one to go Introducing... The Health Club. Yep, I used all my creative nouse for 2022 on this one. This is a link to it: In essence it's a section of the forum that behaves like a club. I.e. you join it, you post topics. But it's a club if that makes sense. ie others with this subset of interests. One of the biggest challenges in any forum is making it easier to find stuff, be that content or people of a like mind. so we join a club, the local running club if that's your torture. Other clubs to follow will make more sense ie you have to join to see the posts, or reply to them. Health Club is open, so anyone can still contribute while we get them off the ground. You'll see a new navigation entry; Clubs, I know awesome creativity here. This will take you to the clubs, others to follow as hinted at... eg regional meets & events, EV talk and so on
  19. Ok thanks for that Diesel Monte . UrbanPanzar I'm new to this site & don't know how it really works yet . I hate computers & all this technical stuff .

The waterpump is a very common issue, Skoda UK are well aware of it. Most 2.0 TDI engines are affected. Your Kodiaq is under warranty and presumably now at your local Skoda franchised main dealer. They'll likley replace the waterpump and all will be well. You should however consider paying a little extra and have them renew the cambelt at the same time. It needs removing to access the waterpump, and personally I don't agree with Skoda's policy of refitting a tensioned belt. The recommended cambelt interval is 5 years so you only have a year before it's due. You might want to consider asking them to quote for a new cambelt and tensioners.
  24. Spot on fellas I'll have a look this weekend. It's like anything once you've done it once it's easy. I've already ordered a new lock/module for £20 with 5yr warranty so not bad.
  25. Just watch the installation video linked in the thread a few times. If you think you can handle that, that's about all there is too it. The rest is just us playing about beyond the standard plug n play setup.

Just landed, a quick hello 👋 catch you in the various forum topics. 05/2017 Octavia SE Technology DSG
  27. At 50mm lift I'd be looking at changing the car if it's a regular requirement. You will massively compromise the normal handling to the point of making it unsafe. The scout ground clearance is a combination of higher suspension and tyres. To get the same from a stock height car you would also be looking at insurance notification. Again you have to think whether it's worth the work for the small occasional (?) benefits.
  28. Scout will get you circa 15mm higher than normal... Even the Forge lift kit for MQB won't get you that height gain as only 36mm. 29. @AnnoyingPentium have updated the tree list. You will see there is another one between... the reason will become obvious shortly...:
  30. One could say that's a "simply clever" idea, Colin.
  31. My faith in you is restored😁
  32. The photo was very indistinct and difficult for me to see if it was from under the brake pedal or under the master cylinder, the subsequent talk about the hall sensor makes me believe it was indeed the master cylinder from the engine side, could you please confirm. Forget that, after reading the previous posts and looking again at the photo it is now clear to me!
  33. A 16 x6” steel wheel fitted with a 195x60 x16 tyre is the Skoda approved size supplied with the spare wheel option. As mentioned above this wheel tyre combo have almost the same circumference as the standard fit 17” wheels. A skinny space saver spare wheel as such, has never been supplied nor recommended for fitting to a yeti no matter what some unscrupulous eBay sellers tell you, only the size mentioned above is the correct fitment.
  34. The rim size is small but the tyre circumference is correct. But it will be an emergency use spare which means limiting your speed. There is a thread from last week on a full size spare and how the floor will be lifted with the wider rim / tyre if you carry one. It will be down the page or on the page before.
  35. Yes wrong valve gap and spark plug issues will effect the running, throw in ECU chip and lots of potential for lower performance and if the coolant was that thick perhaps that might make a bit of difference to the cold starting. IIRC you have had the chip program replaced, hopefully the correct spark plugs and correct gap for them and valves based on the ECU tuning so you should be good to see what difference the coolant makes, good luck.
  36. At a guess, it'll start 3T2 for the RHD version Not sure where will be best to buy them though I'm afraid. Maybe a breaker on eBay selling a similar car?
  37. those first two part numbers relate to the LHD version, the part number you need will be on the reverse of the trim if you can get it off? If not I expect someone will post it soon enough, I dont recal the system to convert part numbers from lhd to rhd right now.
  38. I just removed my RNS510 Columbus to replace it with an Xtrons 10" Android head unit. You can get them a lot cheaper than replacement RNS510s. Might be something to consider? I love my new head unit.
  39. Maybe this is one of those situations.where it's best to say no more comments from anyone and hope that we can do it via the codeing. If we can't, then hopefully we can go old school and buy the rear light from the other market and figure it out! Nothing is impossible! Ever.......The end.....😁 Thanks everyone for your opinions etc. Love to all, peace and harmony! Moderator. Please delete anything that isn't some form of update or helpful suggestion from here in. Many thanks 😁👍
  40. Tell that to my 52 plate (Sept 2002 to Mar'03) car's 2 factory fitted reversing lights.
  41. This would suggest that the steering is generally stiff with the slight tyre pressure loss compounding the issue, as putting air in the tyres cannot change steering assistance. The assistance level can be changed through VCDS, but I am wondering if you have no assistance due to component failure as even without PAS steering "weight" changes when the car is rolling. Also, rear tyre pressure has no effect on steering assistance - how much pressure are you loosing, over what period, and which tyres. Have you checked the PAS fluid reservoir level - this is located under the battery resulting in not many people checking. Please clarify the exact issue.

Problem found, nice easy fix; Brucie bonus - new pads were £9.99, but Sally had a £10 Halfords voucher from one of my Christmas pressie purchases (wash mitt and microfibre towels), so cost me n'owt. Gaz

Hi Dman, 30Dec2021 These mudflaps are easy to fit, 5mins each corner, no need to remove the wheel. 1 x Torx 25 bit , (and i THINK it's a .. ) 1x 5mm drill bit. The instructions, metal clips, screws + Plastic clips come with the kit. Basically remove screws fit mud flap refit screws The front does require 1 hole ( each side ) drilled in the plastic inner wheel sleeve, just turn the steering wheel to make room for drill. At the Front, there is also underside CLIP to be fitted, remove screw ( BLUE ARROW ) pull the plastic to one side, slide in clip & screw in ( RED ARROW ) and , refit original screw ( BLUE ARROW ) . See photo DON'T tighten any screw until you have positioned the mudflap hard against the car, then tighten. [ Sorry to duplicate this post, as I CANNOT find how to delete/amend ) ] [ and amended photos to JPEG ] rgds D
  45. I'm not near my computer to look for good photos/videos just now, but search for "vw connector removal" on YouTube and you should find a few useful results. In words; push the connector body firmly onto the thing its plugged into while lifting the latch up a short distance in the opposite direction until you hear a click. Then pull connector away Find an easily accessible one to practise with. If you don't do that initial pushing, friction on the latch parts may cause breakage.
  46. It's not actually that one, I can't afford all the extra carbon fibre bits, but it is the same colour, I've gone for the poverty spec end of M3 motoring (still not a cheap PCP monthly even with the equity in my old M4 😞 ), although it does have an extra pair of driven wheels if required
  47. Same question as always... Can I legally get in the back of the car drunk as a skunk and have it drive me home? If not, it's not a self driving car IMHO.
  48. Just found this thread and did this for my superb (2.5 years old) after watching the video.. took 30 secs.. I don't want to think what shape it would of ended up in without the video. Cheers
