if you order a facelift now, you think u ll ever receive it ? i mean before the end of petrole engine in 2035 ?
  2. Some lovely vehicles out today
  3. A few from Coningsby earlier today
  4. I am not seeing anything really that is not a bucket of crap. Lots of cars reserved and garages / used car sales locally at a bit more money. A £2,500 'asking price' 2009 car not far away at a Garage (trader) that is has a good reputation is less of a gamble / lottery. Peugeot 207 1.4 Verve 3d 74 BHP. 74,240 miles. I will just link the garage as i phoned someone i know that was looking for a car but they do not want a 3 door. This is a clean car i would have no worries about any of my family driving. http://towercarsabernethy.co.uk/used-peugeot-207-abernethy-perthshire-4411257 EDIT / PS The Front Subframe Corrosion is something needing looked at and obviously the seller is a MOT Station. But then any car from Scotland or elsewhere at this money needs close inspection and bought with a NEW FULL MOT.
  5. Every TSI benefits from getting Spirited driving occasionally. Actually a roasting. Engine oil up to temp to be sure condensation is getting a clear out, all well and then the oil hot the spark plugs get a nice clean and are hot before cooling down. Soot / Carbon burned off spark plugs that might be that way from short trips. If checking spark plugs take a car as long as no mis-fires or poor running and thrash it, (do not check out a cars mis-fires by risking giving an italian tune up without taking the plugs out first..) So get the plugs hot with some spirited driving, then stop and let them cool and remove. See if all is good with all 4. Not too rich, not too lean. If any sooting or oiled up, & still showing you know with what cylinder / cylinders. Check the Gap as well as inspect. Since they are out there might as well be new ones put in unless they were replaced or checked pre REmap.

    I'm You're afraid that you're becoming delusional.
  7. I was working in Germany again last week and finished the job on Thursday evening , which gave me some time before heading back to Frankfurt airport. on Friday. The weather wasn't good so I found that in Neckarsulm there is the Deutsches Zweirad-und NSU-Museum.. Spent a couple of hours at the museum, which has a large selection of motorcycles and a few cars before heading to Hockenheim. In the collection I found this 1903 Laurin & Klement motorcycle. Good Museum with friendly staff and they were amused when I told them my first motorised transport when I was 16 was an NSU quickly
  8. Avoid these like the plague IMO/IME. Horrid little cars, at least from a reliability point of view. That's purely anecdotal evidence, mind you, but I've known a few folk who've had issues with those.
  9. The engine runs fine and is quiter once upto temp. No strange behaviour or higher oil temps etc. I will put 5w 30 back in at some point purely because I prefer to have the correct grade in. I just havent gottent around to it yet with work and getting ready for our 2nd child who should be born in about 4 weeks or so.
  10. Stealth indicators. Not to be seen by the naked eye.
  11. @EnterName Best you study a bit more or just read the Owners Manual on GPF's because they are not the same as a DPF.
  12. Passing atlas a400
  13. Easy to remove switch panel... no need to remove gearshift panel ... the bit shown in green in your picture. Checkout.... https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/479239-remove-shiny-plastic-trim-surrounding-gear-shifter/ hope this helps Edit... Think I removed Gearshift panel too... I was fitting extra switches to the switch panel
  14. Wow, it's serious downgrade then, because that function was present in MK1 and MK2. Does it at least have one-touch rollup/rolldown? Yes, Felicia's Windows do require some extra wiring, but for example mirror switch can use the same power input as windows. And windows are at least smart enough to have one touch rolling and do work for some time after ignition is switched off.
  15. I didn't do a damn thing (other than vacuum the seats occasionally) in 3.5 years of ownership... and there was nothing wrong with them by the end. If anything, they were better than new because they'd softened up a bit.
  16. the car is 6 years old, done 51,000 miles. Is meant to be on fixed servicing at least that is what the dealer told me, although it was on variable when I bought it. dealer service for first 4 years, last year had belts and water pump changed. The Service Plan is whatever Skoda was flogging a few months ago. A few years ago I saw the bespoke plan advertised, which was all in everything included, but none of the dealers near here knew anything about it and I rang Skoda and they quoted me a monthly amount that would have bought a new car. In effect I dont think anyone knew what ot was, and someone eventually admitted to knowing about it but said it was only for new cars, which seemed silly as the plan could have included tyres, but did seem to include all the stuff that wears out in year 5 and 6 From your graphic, I am tempted just to have an oil change, oil and pollen filter change and find an independent to recharge the AC
  17. Well, after the “technical centre” told them to do something, the dealer thought they’d fixed it but wanted to keep it for the weekend to be sure. Today they said it hadn’t worked. So, I said I wanted a new vehicle. Turns out they are looking into changing it over like for like (colour might be different) at no extra cost to me. I’ll let you know if they pull it off or not. I suspect not.
  18. Internal corrosion. Full synthetic has / had a lot of sulphur. They said it was only in the high humidity countries, said not an issue in Europe, but then Europe can have the same weather as New Zealand. http://australiancar.reviews/reviews.php#!content=recalls&make=Skoda&model=Octavia&gen=824 It meant there was a World Wide Recall of over 5 million vehicles with DQ200's from 2009-2012 and they had the factory Synthetic OIl changed for mineral oil & a software update. **In New Zealand a new MCU was fitted.** Then 2 years later a Service Campaign in Europe changing the Synthetic oil for mineral and a software update. http://autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/vw-uk-why-we-dont-need-dsg-recall 7 months later VW Group do a voluntary Recall Action because they told VOSA who became the DVSA that no Recall was required. Then cars from 2012 had issues and the DQ200 DSG had heat and pressure issues and again a Software Update. Many other parts issues since the original 2012 Global Recall.

HI Welcome to forum, nice car with nice combination of engine and gearbox! You are a lucky one - had 2 welcome replies from members, I had none, not the most friendliest of forums (may be my something in my name ) so far, but I love it for the amount of information I absorb from it just now.
  20. Yes, Kodiaq is far too big, despite passenger seat apparently being quite comfortable. The Ateca doesn't seem to be available in the box/engine we want, and lacks the removable rear seats of the Koraq. Would trust Nissan, Kia, and Peugeot autos even less than the VAG offerings. Lots of decent used cars around but it gets more changing when looking for automatics.
  21. I've had my Octavia VRS Estate IV less than 2 weeks. Built Dec 2021, showroom managers vehicle for 8,000 miles of it's life before I purchased. Was the only one I could find with the options I wanted, avoiding the long wait of a factory order. I have already experienced the SOS popping noise and failure notification on my first outing. Dealer didn't do the software update, although apparently never experienced this issue before (**cough**, **cough**). Got it booked in with my local dealer instead for the end of the month who helped change the privacy in the entertainment system to reduce the notification, which has worked. Car also missing the umbrella which the dealer I purchased from is supposed to be sending me. Also experienced starting the car but the entertainment system completely blank screen apart from the climate control buttons appearing at the bottom. Turned off the car and the entertainment system came on. It was like it never registered the first push of the start button. Notifications of 'Exit warning system and rear traffic alerts currently unavailable' and a 'park distance control' error. Both cleared when next started the vehicle. I'll be asking the dealer to check them over also. Electric only for the local school runs. Lasts me 3 days before battery is flat and having to charge. Found the motor isn't very strong compared to the wife's e-golf. I appreciate it is a heavy car with an engine, fuel, batteries, etc... which I'm sure is a contribution. Around town, it's not been a problem. Took it on a 220 mile round trip at the weekend. Started with a full battery, 130 miles of petrol on the GOM, air con on in normal hybrid mode. 98 miles was on the motorway. Arrived at our destination (110 miles) with 1 mile of electricity and 90 miles of petrol remaining. Charged using a 3 pin plug from solar panels was easy. Around 6 hours I think it took. On the return, I topped up with fuel partially filling the tank. Readout was 290 miles of petrol, 37 miles of electricity. Return route was 60 miles motorway, 30 miles dual carriageways and the rest A roads (110 total). Again normal hybrid mode, air con was off this time round instead going with an open sunroof. Returned with 9 miles of electricity remaining and 230 miles of petrol. Sat nav used on both routes. Overall (early days), it's fairly comfy. Had 2 Karoq's before so I am familiar with the seating. Glitchy entertainment system is frustrating and having the home button on the passengers side is just daft. Braking is sometimes guess work. Regenerative works around town but not well on motorways. When you actually need the brakes, they grab sharply I have found. I love the looks of the VRS estate (in Black), ride was smooth, cruised perfectly on the motorway, economical and spacious for a family of 4 and a dog. Boot although smaller than ICE versions, easily takes our 3 large suitcases (two side-by-side and one on top) with room for many more bags and kids stuff. This is early days but I'm pretty happy so far.

Well, as far as i know there are no official information about facelift, so in my opinion all information regarding the facelift date are speculations. It would be funny, thought if they release facelift in 2023, honestly, i can't imagine how can they manage production of new parts, without even bigger delays. As situation is, in my opinion it would be clever to produce cars without facelift, but it is Skoda, so who knows.
  23. You know you've just reminded me about this, @roottoot. Thanks! 👍 Frankly, this is perfect for me, as I do generally potter about, but Tom clearly said that GPFs benefited from hard acceleration now and then. I suppose that's his opinion based on his experience, but I can't argue with the manual and a slap to the back of the head for me for forgetting it.
  24. If the car runs fine, the dpf is not clogging then the 5w 40 FS to VW502 00 is perfectly fine. VW Group went to 5w30 FS III much the same as now for WLTP / RDE they went 0w 20 FS IV. Get the emissions / economy. But then Euro 5 TDI's they cheated anyway. Then there was the other cheat that is supposedly a Internet Myth about the old tests. They sometimes put diesel in the engine oil of the cars that had covered 3,000 km before they were on the Rolling Road getting tested.
  25. Have you got the latest version of Android Auto? First item in 'recent fixed problems' below sounds like your issue... With a mix and match of phones, cars, and third-party stereos, it’s difficult to pinpoint what is causing Android Auto problems and offer solutions beyond general troubleshooting. Google continuously updates Android Auto and fixes issues as they come up. You should also report any issues you face to let Google know. Recent fixed problems (May 2022) Calls made through Google Assistant were automatically defaulting to the phone speaker instead of the car speaker. “Something went wrong” error when using Google Assistant to navigate or reply to messages. Music stutters when using Android Auto Wireless. This was a problem specific to Samsung phones that Samsung has fixed. Voice commands don’t work with Spotify. Android Auto freezes when the phone locks. This was a common issue with Oppo phones. Xiaomi phones lag after disconnecting from Android Auto. Android Auto shows home weather information instead of the current location.
  26. I've never had a problem asking for a test drive. It of course makes sense to do it at their quiet times if you can. The offer of a drink/best friend/let's go inside and crunch some numbers is usually my cue to leave unless I'm seriously interested, and even then if the numbers don't suit, that's me gone. No need to faff around. Gaz
  27. I had the same issues as them, its not a calibration issue. The dash shows the cars on the road in the correct place so the radar knows exactly where they are and they are correctly displayed on the dash in their lanes. The issue is that the car knows it is coming up to a car in the left lane (displayed to the left on the dash) and yet it still applies the brake as it thinks you are undertaking it. It keeps thinking the car is being driven in Europe and thus applies the brake. It will quite happily let you undertake knowing the car is in the outside lane.... I had to video it many times to show the garage the issue, nothing to do with calibration, more to do with the software thinking it was in Europe and we were driving on the other side of the road. Although the new software has 90% fixed mine I still get the odd time when it applies the brake when overtaking (and the car shows the other vehicle on he inside lane).
  28. It isnt VW longlife but is BMW longlife and is what is usually put in the PD engines. But it does make me think that the 30 weight oil is too thin for the engine. Since putting in the 40 weight it has hardly used any oil at all compared to when the 30 weight was in.
  29. Here you go, few pictures included. Bear with me as the resolutions are wacky, the max upload size is killing it. Current status of the car: Remus exhaust fitted - huuuuge improvement of sound from stock Lowered it a bit more then firstly Got OZ ultraleggeras 20 inch wheels Installed centerlock kit cover on the Oz ultraleggeras Tinted the windows Everything is atested besides the exhaust - Croatians controls got really strict in the last few years and its much better to just make the car legal then avoid police. Next week: Installing a big brake kit going to 390mm. Atesting the exhaust.
  30. Go to dealers , traders, car supermarkets at a quiet time and tell the sales people you would like to look at cars for sale and maybe have a test drive. If they start the offers of a drink, where are you going on holiday and come over as your best friend then make your excuses and leave. If there is a car you like and they need to keep asking the manager to give you a big bargain because you are lovely tell them to get on their bike.

  32. At odds with @roottoot, I feel that as it is on the front of the car it would certainly fail an MOT. If not that, then I'd probably class it as the same as Bull Bars - dangerous.

What he said; whatever they got the best price for 10_000 of the last time they were buying $size.

What they got deliveries of at the time and were mounted on the wheels. So that was maybe months ago or last year for some cars getting delivered this year. It could be anything on your car and you will only know what when it arrives.
  35. That sounds like a Captain Mainwaring quote " I was wondering when someone would notice that " The reason I never suggested it is you can get away with covers on cloth seats but you have to be ultra, ultra careful with leather, especially if the car isn't yours. Knew someone with an Evoque who'd just used those plastic protectors which he never took off. Then when he went to sell the car, well... it looked like his leather had skin cancer. Beyond repair, only had two options - have the seat recovered or replace the seat. Cheaperst option was from breakers yard - still cost a small fortune tho. Leather needs to breath, it needs to be kept supple.
  36. They are running on Long Life oil for variable or fixed servicing which is really what Fleets want. The 5w 40 full synthetic oil you have in is not long life is it. VW 502 00 rather than the VW 504 00 / 507 00 they have recommended / specced.
  37. @vRS 170TDi Cork Nice red bike and car !
  38. Guess this will be my last Kodiaq then. Only reason I bought 2 of them is because it's a mobile fridge 😃. Seriously though - all the 'simply clever' stuff is slowly but surely disappearing, and the price differential is closing to VW as well. So what's the point of Skoda as a marque now? Where's the USP?
  39. It's here guys. Exactly 1 year from order to delivery
  40. You might find that your car or house insurance covers you for lost keys.
  41. First things first, good clean inside and out. Came up well but still needs a good clay bar and polish. Next up was the Pikey airbox mod and blanking plate, helps with airflow and a little with sound. I also put in LED bulbs in the interior and sidelights, need to code out the error light on the dash. I changed the coolant reservoir after the horror stories of the silicone bag splitting, easy job to change and had some coolant left over from the Golf so topped it up.
  42. think the biggest change is actually supplying the cars!
  43. Just in case I haven't got enough pictures of my Sportline iV - I took some more today after fitting the summer Supernova wheels.
  44. For parts and part numbers, whilst not ideal, this might give you some initial help: https://ifinterface.com/ Press: Welcome Press top right tab: Free Services Press: CarProg2 Select: Language if other then English Change VW dropdown & Select: Skoda Select: Scala Select and double-click on: Year - eg. 2019, 2020 or 2021 Thereafter have fun! Otherwise you register, log in your VIN and pay your EUR €8.40 per hour using: https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do
  45. So how much did it drop and how does it look? Here are some not ideal photos I could take at the moment (from a photography point of view) but they do ok to provide the comparison: For me it's almost perfect. The front is exactly as I wish it would be: 20-25mm drop measured. The rear seems to have dropped more (in comparison) a 25-30mm in total. As stock, the rear was sitting 10mm higher than the front (clearly visible on the top part of the photos), now both ends sit at the same height. This looks pretty sweet I have to admit as the car sits level now, but I wonder how it will be once fully loaded with 4 people and luggage. Need to check this. For sure, if i hadn't opted for the 6.5mm thicker Audi TT bushings I'd be in trouble and the rear would be lower than the front so my recommendation: If you have a 272, you most probably need the Audi bushings too (they were 16 EUR in total) A couple more: I have to say I absolutely love the look of the car right now with the wider alloys and the new ride height, clearly purposeful and as aggressive as it should be (for what it is with near 400bhp) without getting too extreme. But the best thing was the handling improvement. I really didn't expect that amount of change as I've experienced in my first test drive an I can only attribute it to the Sportline's DCC set up which, has to be different than the L&K's otherwise my findings simply don't match the ones from L&K owners at all. As short as I can put it, the springs almost eliminated the effects of weight transfer during almost every change of balance. Gone is the squatting during acceleration, the brake diving and the bit of initial roll still left even after the arb upgrade. In Sport, it's a real performance machine now but the weird thing is that the comfort hasn't been compromised at all. The car turns in and corners almost flat, and what I noticed is that the point of the thicker arb's intervention became imperceptible now. No more "bit of roll - then lock yaw" behaviour, just an increased opposition to roll right from the start and much more tendency to follow whatever your input is. Driving it "blind" you would have to assume it's some focused GTI and I did live with one for 3 years so I have a good reference I think. The exploiting of the extra power now is so much nicer, you don't feel as if you're forcing the car to do something too hard but rather something it was designed to do from factory. Everything just works better and doesn't stand out. Obviously the Sportline's damping (on Sport) was set up right from the start but the stock springs were the weak link letting it down. I can't explain it any other way. I'm usually picky with suspension and handling and as it stands, changing the dampers doesn't even cross my mind, it's that good now. On the other hand, if you don't have a Sportline DCC and decide to change springs on your own, do yourself a favour and put some new shocks in (Koni Actives got great reviews recently here) while you're at it. The thought of having to do that if my DCC-springs combo wasn't up to the job made me dizzy, thankfully it wasn't the case on my car. The only other thing needed now is brakes I feel. On an open road, you are now getting so tempted to attack anything not in a straight line and once you do the limit has been raised that much that you find yourself needing to stop from higher speeds way more often than before. So it's something that needs looking at at some point. Overall a great transformation into something so much more potent and enjoyable helped by all new bits in place, looking forward to just find time to drive it now...
