I ordered my iV VRS on 7th October and it arrived at my dealership on 12th of this month. I'm not picking it up until this Friday though. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for what comes out of the factory.

I doubt it, after spending so much time here it’s a cherry on top of the cake after getting the car 😉 I know I won’t forget when my time finally comes 😊
  5. There's always an excuse why they won't even have a crack at getting some of it out. My favourite was "Sorry, I normally have the door card off and everything to get the glass out, but the hoover's not working". He didn't look happy when I said "No problem, I totally understand - I'll get you mine"
  6. I promise you a vacuum doesnt touch half of it. What I do at work is remove the door completely, strip everything off of it, turn it upside down and vacuum what comes out, rinse and repeat about 10/15 times and you get 99% out. I hate rattles.
  7. I have a picture of my mate somewhere with his entire door off the car and upside down trying to retrieve a bolt and remove the broken glass. I’m not saying you should do this but it worked 😂
  8. Poor on snow? I disagree. Different to a locked, limited slip diff car? Yes. Will most people notice the difference if they're using the correct tyres for the conditions and driving on treated roads? No. Splitting the hair: the Haldex will by definition wait for some slip before diverting power. It's not a viscous coupling where there's always 5% of power going to the rear wheels, but it's more efficient as a result. It's not a synchronous system where 50-50 splits are the norm, like the Subaru, nor is it a Torsen mechanical diff which will be faster in pushing power around but also less efficient. Having written all of that, I've been driving two different systems this past winter and the differences are shades of grey. They're both a world better than the FWD, spikes or no (all cars currently run Hakka 8 spikes in different sizes). What conditions? I've been driving to the office, which is now 400kms away, and we moved house from south to north, 300kms further north. I've plastered so much snow on the rear hatch that I've had to dig my way in to the handle to open it. Plate has been unreadable many times because of snow. I've put well over 16000 kms on the Superb in some varying, sometimes absolutely atrocious conditions, down to -28C, with regular snow and ice from October through to late April; I changed to summers again beginning of May and had winters on already in mid-October. I'm not looking for the ultimate in grip: I want something that gets me from A to B rapidly and without drama. The Superb pushes those buttons really rather well. The electrical gizmos in my wife's Suzuki S-Cross mean that the Auto pushes too much power too late to the rear wheels, so it's unnervingly unpredictable. Setting to Lock and Snow mode - so power 50-50 and front / rear the same rotation rate - makes a huge difference and it's much more predictable as a result. The viscous coupling in the previous Swift was faster to react and better to a point, but in normal (even normal winter) driving, the difference is nigh-on undetectable unless you're looking for it. ESP on the Swift felt like it was reading your mind, the Superb's lets things get a little more lairy, the S-Cross and A2 systems just feel slow. The Superb does a great job of shifting some power to the rear when it's needed and ESP an even better one of limiting the excesses of slides. My personal favourites are definitely the ESP Sport mode in the Superb and ESP off / snow / lock in the S-Cross. Both are eminently controllable with a sensitive right foot. Flick, destabilize, add power, sliiiiiide, dab of oppo, and we're good. Feeling like a hero at 20km/h I will be trying to push the Superb on the ice track this winter if we get an event set up, I really want to push the limits harder. But from here, as a long term winter driver being relatively new to 4x4 in its many forms, this is a game changer for stability and I don't want to revert to FWD. There was a grand total of one time last winter when I actually felt I had to seriously slow down as the car was dancing. We'd had 10-12cm of snow at around -10C and it was essentially unploughed on the main road to Jyväskylä south of Suonenjoki. Speeds down to 60-65km/h and we were good. Further south, where the ploughs had been through, 80km/h was possible again. I'll repeat myself: Poor on snow? No. It's a stunningly good all-weather cruiser for long distances. I regularly do 250mile one-way commutes - so 800km in one day - and it's quiet, comfortable, and eminently capable, come rain, ice, snow or glom of nit.
  9. It's not clear which part numbers you're looking for? There are two different Octavia virtual cluster part numbers: - 5E0 920 790 (no sporty display) - 5E0 920 790 A (with sporty display) I retrofitted the A variant to my 2018 car. I added a MOST (fibre optic) to the headunit and also changed the MFSW buttons to 3V0 919 719 E (this adds the 'view' button). There are loads of MIB2.5 part numbers, my car came with the following Amundsen which works perfectly with the VC: - headunit 5Q0 035 874 C - display 5E0 919 605 M I'm no expert on older cars with VC installs but I think you might need a newer CAN-gateway. If you use the sporty display mode, you'll might find the output power bar doesn't work either. Image of the display modes:

Yep, I had exactly the same kind of dialogue with my dealer. The answer was "no, we can't guarantee that; since we cannot guarantee a delivery date anyway... but there are so many unfinished cars 'cause of lack of components..." Therefore I thought it kind of made sense... I'm not going to miss the park-assist; it's the reverse camera I regret giving up. Now seeing the very same configuration (even higher spec'ed) ordered later and delivered sooner than mine, that really pi*** me off! So far I wasn't giving a rat's ass on the delay... now it bothers me.

Right you are unfortunately... Today I found out from a friend that his neighbor just received his car, almost identical to mine - same trim level, but even more options than the packs I have. He also ordered a TDI 150hp DSG, but his order is almost 1 month later than mine, so he ended up paying several kEuro more than me. That's because some clever-pack discounts were no longer applicable in Romania several weeks after I placed the order. So why the *** did they ask me to remove some options from the order??? That's a really bad joke!!! I now admit I was stupid to accept their proposal, but I must give the credit to Skoda for most of the guilt.

  14. So... some kind person has kindly introduced their car door to the sharp edge of my rear nearside wheel arch whilst parked in a car park. I've been to our local 'chipsaway' body shop, and I've been quoted £408 to put it right, this is due to poor access of the panel, so will require a drill & pull. It will also require the rear door to be sprayed to blend it. So I've two options, accept that it happened and move on, or pay to put it right. Has anyone had any experience with any local body shops in the midlands that might be able to beat the £408 I've been quoted? Gutted is an understatement, I accept cars get knocked and damaged, but this has been done with some force.
  15. That's very helpful both of you, thank you. 👍
  16. What they mean is that it is impossible within the time constraints they have to do the job for a fair market price to remove all of the broken glass, some will likely remain.
  17. Errr, no. I’ve been assured by a certain QW that flapped cars are now achieving £750-1000 over non-flapped cars… 😁
  18. Just some information for those owners being asked to renew their Skoda Connect subscriptions (for Infotainment Online, and Care-Connect Remote Access). Because of all the software issues I've had with the infotainment system in the last year, and all the other problems I've had with the car, I emailed Customer Services and asked them to give me a free year's subscription - on the grounds that many of the functions of the system had been hampered in the first year by numerous software and hardware glitches. In response, to my surprise, they agreed that would be reasonable. I had to pay for the annual subscription up-front - and send them the invoice - and they then sent me a cheque (for £80). I know I'm not the only one, by any means, to suffer from these problems - so I suggest anyone else who has had problems should try contacting Customer Support.
  19. If it was one of the vehicles that was part of the Service Campaign to have the software update applied then that should have been done. That can be checked. The Service History, Warranty History & any Recall Action / Service Campaign history in the first 3 years should be on the Skoda System that a Main Dealer can access for you. If the car you pick up misbehaves do not accept it.
  20. lol, true, but these days I ride Unicycles more so they fit in the boot quite easy 🙂

@StillwaitingforoctaviaYour trade in will be with a Skoda Dealership not Skoda, best check again what they are saying now since cars are selling for so much, not a time to let them try and take advantage and give you less even after so long. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506409-potential-issue-with-finance Find someone else that will pay what your car is currently worth.
  22. Time's undoubtedly not on their side. I had similar with a Honda Accord that was broken into (They stole a faulty CD player that skipped like a good 'un ). A reasonable job was done for the glass that was on show, but my children were young at the time, so I took it upon myself to clear all the broken glass. Taking my time, it probably took half a day, including taking the seat base, and door speaker out for better access to a tricky area. Sorry you've had it happen - any fallen objects nearby or projectiles in the car (might be really small), or grazes in the paint? Gaz
  23. Update: Adjusted the camshaft with one notch and that solved the problem. It was me that did a sloppy job when installing the new water pump. Always bad when you have no onw else to blame than yourself :P
  24. If the dealer has done any testing then it will be linked to your account on their systems - which means it may be covered by the data privacy and access laws. I'm no expert but it may be worth looking in to it and then submitting a Subject Access Request for a copy of all data linked to you.
  25. ah right great thanks

I know, it’s really cases like these that make the whole waiting issue even more intolerable…

They still deliver TDI's and they deliver the ones with better margin first. This year I read an interview with someone at Skoda. He mentioned they have better margins for Scala, Enyaq and I think also Kamiq if I remember correctly. So I agree with AudreySI. I am not saying you are wrong about emissions, but also margins come into play.

Congratulations! You have an interesting order date; it falls on my birthday 😀. I can only dream of getting my car in time; I've been waiting for it since July 2021.😞 There is a reason, though: orders for Octavia versions with a higher profit margin go into production before other, prior, orders. It's more profitable for the company, and in the times of setbacks in the supply chains and rising inflation, it's reasonable company's strategy. They have enough orders to pick from. The rest of us are just waiting for their mercy to pick up our order and get it to the manufacturing pipeline.🤷‍♀️
  29. The lid is brand new as well as the tank, so unlikely to be those. Currently being investigated again at the garage that fitted them, so we’ll see 🤞

Morning All new to Skoda’s just recently purchased a 2015 Rapid Spaceback
  31. The latest update: Took the car in for 30,000 service and defect investigation. Both front door lock modules replaced as they had developed faults, (intermittent locking when entering the car). The lack of interior lights and nearly black infotainment and central displays has stumped them. Car goes in tomorrow for a couple of days for further in depth investigation. Worse case scenario, new BCM and complete software update/reload, thankfully, all warranty work.
  32. You'd be surprised to know that this was actually happening at all speeds, which was why I was so keen to get rid of it 🤯 Maybe because it was inside a home made of hard plastics, that may have enhanced the sound somewhat. Have attached a recording (if the forum will allow it to be uploaded) that was taken at approx. 20-30 kph while turning the steering wheel back and forth. That recorded on my phone sitting on the centre console. recording-file.m4a
  33. Update: Car is almost finished at the mechanic now. Diagnostics show that the start/stop system is inactive. Mechanic tried changing the battery and taking it for a drive, start/stop system still refuses to work. My battery came back as still okay. No idea what’s going on. Suggested take it back to Skoda and push them to fix it. We know how that’ll go down…
  34. Seconded. You've clearly been hoying your superb into some corners to get that to move 😂
  35. As above "Full Load Pressures " In Fuel flap
  36. Not a big fan of having my bikes on the roof. It dries the bearings out on my Mtb which aren’t cheap for my bike 🫣
  37. You could always put two bits of card (Amazon box) with a bit of tin foil (take away container) glued between them. Black paint done. Then a rectangle of non slip webbing and it's job done.
  38. Was going to say when I Tow caravan I have tyre pressures set to the fully loaded but I have stuff in boot. Roottoot has answered looking at the link

Congrats. Yes, the wait was very short, which is not a surprise. People that pay more, get the car faster.
  40. Hello Jos, there is a setting in the infotainment system, settings - 'winter tyre speed warning' - if normal tyres are fitted, you need to uncheck the box.
  41. They're not that bad. Most cars might need one replacement in their lifetime due to wear.
  42. The rubber seal around the filler neck isn’t air tight, it’s just an aesthetics thing as the entire filler neck is exposed under the car, wheel arch and such. the only thing it might be, if the rubber was getting pinched on the end of the filler neck preventing the cap from sealing properly
  43. So hi all here I am again to update you software wise. It is now 1year and 3weeks since I picked up my VRS. 9 workshop visits all of which failed to deliver a full working car software. See all my previous posts. Having posted and followed all peoples postings and given my issues, with my engineering head on it was my conclusion that without a new head unit and so a faster processor it would never be right. So I gave up trying to argue and resided to the fact of living with the crappy software. Then out of the blue a call from Skoda saying we have a fix... Mmm I said... Trust us they said. So dropped off at the dealers had coffee biscuits and a chat as I feel like I work there now! On my way in the courtesy car and await the call. Expected a come and pick up the next day.... But no wait.. 4 days later.. Hi its ready and all is good they say... Mmmm we will see I said. Eat my words I must now do! It's a miracle everything works as it should... Finally. What's the secret I ask. Oooh new head unit and processor they say. [see pic] loads up in 3seconds now and after 3 days trying to make it break I can't 😊 finally a working car. Only taken 12 months but.... Thankfully it ok now. So stick with it people keep giving Skoda hell and eventually it will be ok. 🤞👍

Skoda Phoenix Orange in very bright sunlight. The colour ranges from almost yellow to a bronze in lowlight. I think its a "marmite" colour, but im done with "50 shades of grey" 😳 For the last 12 years I have had black, silver and grey, all neutrals.

I'm new to Skoda. In the past I've owned Audi, Seat, Hyundai and other makes. So far, I'm very happy with the Karoq. The dealer let me know that there was a facelifted Karoq on the horizon for 2022. I chose to order an existing model on the system rather than wait until next year. The car was ordered at the end of October. I was kept informed of its travel from the factory, to Emden (Germany), and then over to the UK. I collected it on 29th November. During the decision-making process I've been reading through all the information on this site and found it very useful. I've also watched dozens of Youtube videos on the Karoq. There seems to be quite a bit of variation in what comes supplied with Karoqs, depending on age and trim level. My car is a 71 plate (MY22) Sport Line 1.5 TSI DSG in metallic Race Blue on 19" wheels. The things it came with included: Amundsen infotainment screen Sport Line flat-bottomed steering wheel Panoramic glass sunroof Tinted privacy glass on the rear windows DSG paddle shifters on the steering wheel 2 x USB-C sockets in the front Wireless mobile phone charging pad in the front next to the USB-C sockets Umbrella in a drawer underneath the front passenger seat Ice scraper inside the petrol filler flap Cargo nets in the boot Luggage dividers / fasteners in the boot 2 x shopping bag hooks in the boot Skoda cuddly lion on the dashboard : ) (see photo) There was no torch in the boot. I'm led to believe the torch was discontinued a while ago. I've attached some photos, taken on the day I collected the car. Looking at the latest information on the 2022 facelifted Karoq it looks like Skoda won't be offering the new model in Race Blue. Cheers PJ
