Finally got my car a couple of weeks ago. And it pains me to admit it but I’m glad I waited.
  2. Got a better shot of the full moon with my old tz70 - love how clear the Tycho crater is👍

  4. You need special tools which bolt in place of the water pump, these are there to set the timing within 0.1 of a degree of where it needs to be. with active cylinder technology it needs to be very precise or you get all kinds of faults. You’re very correct, I’ll look into it in a bit more detail later today and just see what kind of price I’d charge if I did buy the tool.
  5. Theirs isn't a great illustration but yes, thankyou part #4 it is. So it's 32mm long x M10 part number N90930902 . Yes breezy_Pete, you were correct!
  6. 10.9 rated and captive grippy washer by the looks of this page, n90930902 VAG Болт (autocode.ru) Duff info sorry, pics on that page were of different part number. 😁 but it seems that different part number supersedes the one on Lee's page, so same observations apply.
  7. All good. 👍(you get the Seat part number on it in a Seat obviously also has the Seat FeC in it unlike that release once) Leave MartiniB to sniff out the RoW one.
  8. Apparently , having been told yesterday by the Dealer its a 6 to 7 hour job being the ACT engine, have done about 3 so far , and advised having problems costing the job , due the the amount of Time it takes , iam hoping that they would have gained a bit more experience before mine is done in december now ( Quoted £725 ) skoda dealer in Ashford Kent

Thaught id start a project thread while i do the odd bit here and there....having come from an r53 and f56 mini by christ its a big car🤣 Some what of a poverty spec in vrs terms, but only 14k on a 2017 plate so it was too good a deal to pass up on. Thaught it was a 220bhp model but turns out it had 230 on the dyno. Told myself id keep it stock now ive got a "grown up sensible car" Sooooo first mod was an apr open filter. Ummmed and aaahd about remapping it for a while, read very cobtrasting things about revo vs other companies and could the clutch take it etc ...got advise on here that it should be fine so i thaught sod it Booked it in at west yorkshire tuning having seen them repeatedly reccomended on octavia groups and had it mapped and made a tasty 320 bhp. Realised soon after on full boost heavy acceleration that the revs did a little dip, so ive upgraded the standerd intake hose and turbo elbow to a vagsport hose and turbo elbow to increase air flow and it seems to have resolved tge issue. And thats about it for now

  13. Manuals used to be a single PDF download but Skoda seem to have stopped that for some reason. The last PDF for a Karoq I could see is from 2018: https://ownersmanuals.blob.core.windows.net/ownersmanuals/en/Karoq_NU/11-2018/OwnersManual.pdf The latest online manual states: It might be worth trying to access the manual via the headunit: You could also ask questions regarding what you're trying to achieve as other users might have the answer for you.

  15. My other car has 650hp (although 4WD), a little more power never hurt 😀
  16. Hi, Just bought the car. So wanted to reset everything and update to latest firmware. Especially that now the DAB is gone. It was there when I bought it. On my way home I did a factory reset of the unit and now DAB is gone.
  17. Location location location regarding using Maxxis AP2 all year & then sizes & vehicle will be relevant. Maybe the AP3 are a different kettle of fish. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/382657-maxxis-ap2-all-season-tyres
  18. I've used maxxis all season tyres & their summer performance tyres within the past, found both good & had decent longevity. I'm new to Skoda, but generally speaking an all season tyre would give you good all year round performance, you'd never gain extreme levels of performance from one during the summer months, compared to the best summer tyre available, well within my experience, anyway. With my particular type of driving style, I'd be happy to settle for good all year round performance levels from my tyres. I've also in the past ran with two sets of tyres, winter & summer. As I live up north & can experience harsh winters. I have summer tyres fitted to my Skoda right now, but have narrow tyres fitted (relatively speaking), plenty of tyre choice, too. So when I come to replace mine I'll also be putting on all season tyres. When I had the Maxxis all season tyres fitted to a different car they were the Ap2's, happy enough with those for all year round use & from memory I think they also had 9mm of tread from new, which was surprisingly good news . Not sure about the tread depth on the AP'3's from new though. I'd be happy to use either.
  19. Hi The fact that you are getting fault indications for both tail lamps and indicators makes me suspicious that there is a bad (high resistance) common earth which is causing all or part of the current from one bulb to find its way "backwards" through another, rather than all going to earth. Although this can make lamps dimmer than normal, it may not be immediately noticable to the naked eye. However, the current monitoring circuits aren't so easily fooled and will complain due to the current being lower than the expected value. The rapid flashing (synthesised these days) is to alert you because it "thinks" the low current is due to a failed indicator bulb. I suggest you check the earth pin in the car socket (Pin 3 if it's a 13 Pin style) for tarnishing.
  20. Yes can send MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0369T version if you like via PM
  21. Dropping oil (or other fluids) on the track will pretty quickly get you a black flag from a marshal. Normal, road-going people have to take their chances.
  22. After couple of days, after listening my music in car, i came to the conclusion that audio quality is the same as before update. So, i’ll stay with 0490 firmware. Ne need to downgrade.
  23. That oil ash comes from material in the oil that cannot be burnt into smaller particles. The value for your car is nothing to worry about, wait until you get to 230k km and measure again then, and every 30k km after. The higher the value, the more frequently the car will try to regenerate to maintain health. In particular, your soot measured is lower than the car thinks, so is a very good thing, sign of a healthy DPF.
  24. I got mine unpacked without errors but haven't tried installing it yet. This version of 7zip I did use use the Russian link but I think that's all the same http://map.audi-mib.ru/ Right clicking on the unzipped three items gives this... check the bytes with what you have MartiniB. I just did the drag and drop. Well I unzipped it with WinRAR and got no errors like 7zip. Check above is the same..... I'm wondering whether your download went wrong MartiniB... yet to check it in the car. Property check on the original zip file:
  25. If they need to trained and get experience then that can not go on the hourly rate charged to customers. But what ever the book time for the job is dealerships hourly rates will be going up and not down. Parts are unlikely to be dropping in prices and there will be more customers being told about 'on back order'.

Installed that lamp, mirroring the original one on the left side. Just had to make a more-or-less correct size cutout in the plastic, popped in the lamp i got from the local ebay, installed the two LED fastoons, and voila, I have a lot more light to see in the boot during the long dark winter months on the countryside. (closest streetlamp is 200m away, so it get's properly pitch black in the carport) ran a cable from the original lamp to the new one right next to the original wire loom under the boot doorstep, so all looks decently original. Fylaktos, nah, I'm a native Hungarian and got a Hungarian speaking job here for good salary way back when I was a live-in-slave in a hotel in Essex. In the UK I was just another of the not too welcome "Eastern European" (mind me, i'm an Anglophile, and can't blame them: there was a plague of us, but we kept the economy rolling) and here the Poles actually like Hungarians (we are probably the only neighbour they don't really have a historic animosity with... the same on our side in Hungary, but here it's much much more pronounced). But would I say no to a place in Italy, preferably on the South, with the great kitchen, the good wine, the awesome car history? 😛 Hahaha, I guess, not.
  27. S00.1000.17.99 release = "MHIG_EU_SK_K1552" MUVersion = "0411" I will send you a link to this update
  28. I see the production date was September 2022 feels about right. I'll try it in my Seat later. Let you know.
  29. I will send you a link via PM, odds are it's the correct file.
  30. @ApertureS It looks like there are going to be plenty of owners or those maybe buying a used 1.5 TSI ACT's over 5 years old trying to find anyone that can do the job for less than Main Dealers can. It will be interesting to see how VW Group / Skoda UK deal with Dealerships that do not want to be doing customers cars, or even 1.5 TSI ACT Approved Used Cars with a FMDSH that have not had the timing belt changed. Vorsprung Durch Technik. Maybe not enough thought was given to the matter of servicing and maintenance 6 or 7 years back.

  32. I always appreciate a recommendation but sadly the tool to do this isn’t worth me investing in, required tool is the VAS611007 and costs over £1000… and that’s second hand! If I was to invest in it, the amount of belts I would have to end up doing would be massive to pay for itself, either that or id end up charging more than the dealer. the job itself is a bit of a pain too, requires water pump and housing to be removed, lots of additional bits in the way. on the hole it’s not a terrible job, just a pain in the ass really with the additional costs. Sadly can’t help with this one 😞
  33. You might be able to use some generic aftermarket GRP arch flares like a rally car and trim them to fit.
  34. Same link is on here tohttp://map.audi-mib.ru/
  35. Not an LED bulb is it?
  36. Seems your caps lock key is stuck? The first posts states the maps are from 2022.05.24 but VW class them as 2023/2024. They are, at time of reply, the latest maps available for these headunits 👍
  37. Well had the service done today at main dealer Skoda 71000 miles/5 Years , needed brake fluid change , MOT , Pollen Filter . Was going to do the Cam Belt , but was told after arriving that as its the 1.5 Engine , they would have to do the Cam Belt another day , indicated they were getting the first few 5 Year old cars in on the 1.5 petrol type, and that the Job was taking them 6 to 7 Hours , They have booked me in again with a free loan car over 2 days in a few weeks time . Was advised that the going price for a normal , non 1.5 engine is circa £550 , but on my model ie 1.5 engine 2017 facelift , they are trying to be realistic and quoted me £725 . So all you owners with a 1.5 Engine , LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BEING QUOTED OR THOUGHT THE PRICE WOULD BE ,Thanks
  38. Could be something simple, like a bad bulb or a bad earth. Try replacing the bulb. Check the earth wire is secure as well inside the light fitting.

It is by the calendar with the VW Group, VW / Audi / Skoda / SEAT and that is at 3 years or 30,000, which ever comes first. (30,000 is my mileage, and a 15,000 mile a year car will come up in 2 years) It has been so for years now. (It was at 4 years / 40,000 miles until VW changed that to the more frequent service advice, guidelines, recommendations or even schedule, that was after failures, a year or so later Skoda eventually appeared to, not that all Skoda Dealership employees seem to have caught up on that.) 2014. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/310764-cambelt-change-and-haldex-oil-service-and-interval-cost 2015. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/359288-haldex-oil-change-frequency Volvo has had it at 20,000 miles for years now. The DSG Servicing is by miles not years. Then the cars with a VAQ Diff are @ 3 years / 30,000 miles and not as some are told, not necessary. do it next time if you want.
  40. Sounds correct to me, as when I picked the car up after mine was updated by the dealership it immediately did three OTA updates on the way home, one of which it stated was to correct a data sim error.
  41. Not at all. Just there were a lot of odd bits I required and it was cheaper to buy complete parts and interiors. Seems a shame to throw the bits I dont require away when im sure the community could make great use of it especially when its free and saves people money!
  42. Some Porsche godies installed-oil and coolant cap. They look much better than R8 ones.
  43. Probably the flap that controls the mix of hot/cold air is getting stuck? Diagnostic tool will be able to show if one is sticking as it often flags a fault quick.
  44. If you're more concerned about fuel consumption than enjoying your drive in a cracking performance estate, forget a vRS. Stick it in Eco on longer journeys/commutes (slower but not slow and uses much less fuel) and leave it in Normal or Sport for the weekends when you want a bit of fun.
  45. No problem closing with the load cover in place. The load cover does make contact with the wheel but closing the boot door holds it perfectly in place. 👍 I initially carried the spare in the “proper” place with the styrofoam fillers and some wood to support the sides of the floor but that wasted way too much space so tried the side mounting route and suits what we do much better. With the type of long haul journeys I do anything other than a full replacement wheel isn’t an option, if I have a puncture (and I’ve had a few over the years) I want to change the wheel, crack on to where I’m going then sort it out at my leisure once there. And, from the numbers of cars I clocked on a long haul yesterday and today stuck at the side of the road with a puncture, that’s not a view I’ll change. I know the risk is small but it’s the old risk vs consequences - minimum risk but total PITA consequences. 👍
  46. check out https://www.karoqforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=568 it may help
  47. Check your battery voltage with a multimeter (if you have one) first thing in the morning and before turning on the ignition. The only time I had this chime, it was low battery volts. It could be the alternator is not producing enough charge or you have a low constant discharge when the car is locked. To check the possibility, connect jump start leads between your battery and the battery on another car. Start the other car before starting yours.
  48. Free bump - I have these same tyres for my Kamiq on my 16" steelies, awesome tyres in the snow!
  49. I can send 0253 via PM, next few minutes
  50. Thanks, I thought as much, just wanted to see if I'd overlooked something.
