  1. Well Well Well. This was waiting for me when I got home. Make of it what you will.🤣 I
  2. The guy says the Tech heard me and checked the passenger side again and Vauxhall will not replace as it is ok. Well I will not be bringing it back in to have more work done after they do this job right, if they do. Motability can collect the car or arrange to have the repairs done at the Vauxhall workshop that is no longer a dealership for Vauxhall but has the trained and qualified mechanics, equipment and does Vauxhall work for customers. 1 mile from my home. They supplied and PDI,d the car. Then left the Vauxhall Network. They are still a Kia dealership.
  3. If StopStart function is on your vehicle, you need an EFB or AGM 096 battery (marked as such on the lid). A standard SLI flooded isn’t up to the job of handling S/S charging profiles over time and wears out quicker than the S/S graded batteries even if S/S function is switched off. S/S function is more than just cutting the engine when stationary.
  4. I discussed with Master Tech from my local official Skoda dealer this morning. That’s exactly what happened. He said it’s bullsh*t. His guys should never have used this sticker. He was quite nerved to see that his mechanics still use stickers which are outdated for years. He confirmed me I could remove this ugly confusing sticker and that correct timing belt replacement is every 210000km without time limit. Just wanted to make a feedback with official information.
  5. Back at Arnold Clark Vauxhall Service Centre for the fitment of drop link. Supposedly front drivers side. Keys handed over and through to workshop at 8.40. So I will see how things go. An automatic Corsa (electric) would have been available but as this should not take long I will just sit and wait. Time booked for 8.00 am and should be less than a couple of hours. It certainly should. Lol not. PS. The other day the car did an over the air update and what ever had been updated that always had the car assuming that when charged it would get 4 miles per kWh disappears and it went back to being accurate to the last efficiency. So today at around freezing it had 50% battery and showed 46 miles range. 20 miles later with a slow drive on ungritted roads and AC off it was getting 3 miles per kWh displayed and 41miles range. 47%.
  6. @Tell So today I managed to run the maps from the 64gb USB stick, I downloaded the whole map # ECE AS(A1) 2023/24 15.3 Gb VW portal: https://vw-maps-cdn.lighthouselabs.eu/vw-maps/DiscoverMedia2_EU-AS_2010_V17.7z And I downloaded to a 16GB memory card and both work # ECE 3 2023/24 5.4 Gb VW portal: https://vw-maps-cdn.lighthouselabs.eu/vw-maps/DiscoverMedia2_EU3_2010_V17.7z Thanks for the advice bro. 329093415_9145838088761447_4458729154356824444_n.mp4
  7. Once was true, but is now an urban leg end due to a change in the law.
  8. Which part of "average greed scamera" is confusing you? I really hope it's not the "average", (actually mean) which is taken by reading the time (in decimal hours) when you pass the exit camera, subtracting the time when you pass the entry camera, and dividing by the distance between the 2, to give your mean speed between them.
  9. I would have thought that all the glass would drop to the bottom when its closed, so i vacuum cleaner in the boot with the hatch 1/2 opened should do it with the trim off. I have a pipe with a shovel type of end that gets down the side off my VRS seats and will get into most places. Perhaps a small well trained child?
  10. The Dacia Duster has tyre sizes 215/65R16 and 215/60R17 depending on specification. There's none of this nonsense with 18" and 19" rims. The Karoq is an SUV, not a VRS. Dacia Duster with sensible tyre and rim sizes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacia_Duster#/media/File:2018_Dacia_Duster.jpg

  12. This is the problem, what is the ECU type?. Of course it may not matter to some tuners so will drop the guys above a line and if I can get to mine, see if there's a makers ident on it. Cheers @AGFalco.
  13. Sorry, you are right. I also have offset values as 0 in live data. What you are looking for is "Horizontal angle reference segment left, in angular minutes". And the same for right. In my case for example it 36 and 24 minutes accordingly. This is the value you need to provide during basic settings of matrix. I think it shows angle between headlight axis (which might differ slightly depending on how it was installed to the chasis, as there is some adjustment) and camera axis. Based on that computer can calculate which segments to switch off when camera sees a car in particular position.
  14. Get a picture of currently fitted battery (make sure we can see the battery cover also) The new battery And you still need to post the year of your car
  15. Here is some guidance on reading wiring diagrams and tracking and tracing through that everyone has contributed to.
  16. It might be a CV-joint. I had the same issues (vibrating at WOT around 2-2500RPM) after remap, so I replaced the CV-joints on the left side drive shaft (FWD). The vibration is almost gone, and I'm planning on replace the right side as well. The old CV-joints were tight, but dry, so I expect the other side to be the same.
  17. 0253 in next 15 minutes or so
  18. Generally when the maps are loaded in the first time there is a delay. Think it writes new FeCs in, how on Seats you get a collection of FeCs when you use the "workaround" for Mapcare that isn't required on Skoda and VW so there is a first time day. You do have the 20 minute power on after turning off and if the infotainment system is left on, unlocking starts the process. Probably enjoying that one.
  19. This reminds me of my Mk2.5 - Went to my car one morning to find a pebble in the centre of the rear window. As it turned out, there wasn't a single rear windscreen with the diversity aerial etched into it in the entire UK - so I had to drive with plastics covering the rather large whole for nearly a fortnight while one was shipped in...... Anyway, I digress. Window replacement company come out, just want to get the job done as soon as possible. Every single time I opened & closed the hatch the annoying noise of sliding glass could be heard. As far as they were concerned, window replaced, no longer their problem. As it happened, my car was in at Skoda having some other work done and I mentioned the issue. They said they would take a look. Basically one guy spent an hour with various pieces of trim off, opening and closing the boot and getting more and more glass out until all you could hear were maybe 2-3 tiny chips moving around. They charged me an hours labour, but I was happy to pay. I can's see the Mk3 being much different - all rather time consuming.
  20. Challenge the NIP then and ask for furthe evidence and clarification.
  21. 1 point
I only have about 6k km, so no service yet - but will make a call and ask, this can’t be normal behaviour.
  22. Same as any mainstream VW group seat I've tried. ( never sat in a Bentley, that might be different though I doubt it ). One benefit of VW electric lumbar is it can move vertical as well as horizontal so you can tailor the support depending on the height of the driver, that's why given the choice I'd always chose electric seats. But all massage does is move that lumbar thru the two planes to give some effect of.... well I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to represent but it's certainly not like any back massage I've had. Of course as a result of the lumbar movement, the reality is you've just lost the lumbar where you need it most and as a result, I found the seat more uncomfortable when the massage function was on than when it was off ! 'Gimmick' sums it up perfectly but we're all different and I'm sure someone will like it. It's amazing how £775 can twist your mind. I suppose they have to justify it somehow. 🤣
  23. 49,000miles, crazy how the clutch would need replacing so soon!
  24. Matrix lights are really not about a Stylee thing and just how they look, but about how they perform for the car driver. (Personally i love them.) How what they light up looks to the vehicles driver. And the way you get used to no longer dipping the headlights. How they look when working is what affects other drivers and road users and pedestrians when it is dark. When they are working correctly then there should be no issues, sadly there are many out there fitted to vehicles that are crap in how they function.
  25. I’ve got the high Beam cost £180 it was standard on my Hyundai Tucson premium se . I wanted the matrix lights they look so nice but no much I thought for lights I can’t see from outside 😁 so I upgraded to winter pack and alloy wheels & ambient lighting instead and upgraded to full leather and some other tech . Colour I’ve got is moon white very smart when clean 😁
  26. Occam's razor says 'it's a fair cop'.
  27. I'd have thought if you can demonstrate that the photo's were taken outside of the average speed measuring area, then you have a question to be answered, as you could've been doing 70mph (presumably) at these points, which would increase your 'average' speed if the average speed zone is a shorter distance. Having said that I can't help but feel I'm missing something. I'd be taking a photo of the 'Not in use' cameras if it were me. Gaz
  28. Thule 7106 are the carrier feet you need to attach the bars. I have the 7112 wingbars (118cm). I can fit four bikes on it. You will also need 186096 kit.
  29. The page is tabbed, which is why it shows only one video. There's a tab called "Software Update", and within that are two videos. The one I was referring to is:
  30. It seems like I never replied to you @Carlston I was hoping to get a set of Pepperpots, but I never found any, so I ended up buying a set of new MK4 Avus 15" 6J wheels I found on sale. I fitted the stock size on them (185/60R15 Michelin Energy XM2) and went to Aliexpress for a set of generic hub caps, since the original ones have the old blue and white logo and look kind of odd. They didn't come that way, though. I had to buy the loose silver and black emblems and glue them. I replaced all five wheels, including the spare (I now have a full size spare, so no 80 Km/h limitation). Ride quality is fine, not great, because I'm afraid to hit some pothole and damage the rim. That's why I've been using 36 PSI on front and 34 PSI on the back. Steering is quite nice and I get very good mileage (I've seen as low as 4.xl/100 Km). Alloy wheels are definitely stronger than steelies. It looks really clean to me...
  31. Update. The DSG had to be rebuilt, as far as I can make out, at great expense (most of it labour charges) , but now the car runs beautifully.
  32. On mine the both the normal boot-light and torch-light switch off as soon as the tailgate is closed.
  33. I've got Yakima whispbars on mine
  34. It’s largely a waste of time if you don’t have memory seats. The mirror isn’t able to store positions without the memory so it’s hit and miss wether it works properly or not. Mine was miss, so i reversed the changes.
  35. Just an update guys. The issue has now gone. A couple of days before the issue (violent misfire) I added some engine oil to the car, I misread the dipstick and foolishly added more when it wasn't needed, about half a litre. I never thought that that this would cause such an issue, as I still had a slight misfire and rough idle before adding the extra engine oil (that started a few weeks before). Anyway, yesterday I checked the dipstick and it was showing above the max line, so I siphoned some oil out with a syringe and tube through the dipstick hole. I also removed and cleaned the map sensor at the back of the engine behind the inlet pipe. Car now runs better than before and the slight dsg jerkiness I had before has also gone, dsg changes have gone really smooth now. I reset the DTC codes with a scanner and the EML light hasn't been back. I've driven around 30 miles in the last 2 days. Not sure what fixed it but it seems to be sorted now, the car feels different. Thanks all
  36. A couple of things. If it is the sicate issue. 1. You will probably see some evidence of it inside the coolant expansion tank. 2. If your car has the silicate bag in it will be stamped with mitt silicate. 3. I have read quite a few instances accroos a couple forums of late with matrixes being replaced without resolving the problem indicating the issue was elsewhere. I do not know the 1.6tdi but on ea888 gen 3 for example, as used in the vRS tsi, there is at least one solenoid valve that cab fail and block flow to the heater matrix. Not saying they're definitely wrong but the other possibilities need exploring and discounting first. There are some cases recorded of the matrix clogging without the silicate bag being the cause as well...
  37. As limescale etc builds up inside the jet, it really does not take much "debris" to affect the spray pattern, not sure how the plastic would react to removing them and dropping them in some limescale remover in warm water................maybe even lemon or vinegar would work. Might be worth removing and trying it. failing that, replace them.
  38. use the 27 amp wire.....the fuse has to blow first to protect the wiring.
  39. Haha, what? Ignorance does not excuse for poor service. It's actually more reflective of their poor conduct.
  40. I'm technically the third owner of my car as it was a failed lease contract. I've owned it since it had twenty four miles on the clock. The two previous owners were VW & VWFS. When I took it in for its first service, I was pleasantly surprised that the car came into my possession with a three service plan, already paid for, that I'd had nothing to do with 👍 Gaz
  41. Is the Service Plan able to travel with the Vehicle when you sell it ?. Or does it just become obsolete. If it can travel it could be a good selling point or make the vehicle worth more.
  42. I can only imagine how annoying the inconsistency must be. I'd hate that. That's why I will keep one of my ultra reliable 30 year old Toyotas (although it will be used sparingly in view of the extension of ULEZ). So far my ULEZ compliant Rapid has been great but I've only had it for 2 months. I did consider a Zoe but I still remain to be convinced over infrastructure and real life inclusive costs.
  43. @Carlston Amazingly concise information, that’s brilliant thank you! I’ve no idea why you can’t spec a different rim size from the factory, I just don’t understand the obsession with huge alloys 😆
  44. 225/40R19 is a hard riding tyre, especially when fitted to the Karoq's relatively wide 8J rims. You would easily notice the improved ride by changing from 225/40R19 fitted to 8J rims to 225/45R18 fitted to narrower 7.5J rims. Then you would easily notice the improved ride by changing from 225/45R18 fitted to 7.5 rims to 225/50R17 fitted to even narrower 7J rims. So you will be getting not one, but two easily noticeable improvements. In fact, I suspect most people would be happy with the ride on 225/50R17 fitted to 7J rims...unlike the really quite awful riding 225/40R19 on 8J rims. Avoid over-specifying the tyre, such as W and Y speed rated tyres, because the Karoq doesn't go over 150mph. If you only need V speed rated tyres (or H speed rated tyres) then choosing W or Y could make the sidewalls stiffer and therefore the ride unnecessarily harder. You may also want to specify SL Standard Load tyres, rather than XL eXtra Load tyres, but that may depend on what tyres are available. One of the tyre reviews commented that the Continental All-Season tyres have a good subjective feel...which is always a good thing. Continental All-Season 225/50R17 98V XL (Euro label B B 72dB) https://www.camskill.co.uk/m140b0s8019p152836/Continental_Tyres_All_Season_Car_Continental_ContiAllSeasonContact_Continental_Conti_All_Season_Contact_-_225_50_R17_98V_XL_FR_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_B_Wet_Grip%3A_B_NoiseClass%3A_B_Noise%3A_72dB
  45. Hi Guys My Sportline come on 19'' 45 profile, looked great but the ride was stiff. This winter I'm on 17'' alloys wearing Continental Contact All Season. Softer quieter ride. 17'' was the smallest wheel option when new so I was happy with hub and brake caliper clearances etc. Black wheels look 'less lost' in the wheel arch as the tyres help (also black 😄) and of course match the black sports trim Photos below (I just need to decide if I put the summer 19''s back on next year, however................On balance we have more winter and rain than summer sun ?)
  46. I would definitely be keen on this as would like DCC to be mid way between normal and sport. Good luck, do let us know how you get on!
  47. It's not applicable in this case, but clutches are only covered for six months under a new Skoda warranty, other brands have a similar approach. It's shocking, in my opinion.
  48. 19s here... I got 12mm front and back and i like it. The car is just too elegant for 15mm spacers that go flat vs the wheel arch (typical sport cart). And it's on H&R springs so the arch feels closer due to the lowering.
  49. Hey! A little update on this topic: I have ordered Eibach spacers 15mm for back and 10mm for the front. Also I have ordered these new DCC compatible H&R Sport lowering springs. I will add this setup on stock R19 wheels and post a pic how it looks Springs will arrive in 3weeks.. Should be similar to this, as I got same springs. Just different wheels.
