I’m a little bit shocked and very happy that the EFI conversion kit I bought in January 2021 arrived recently!! It looks excellent. I’m in two minds as to whether I install as the car is running well at the moment. But it would be a cool project. As for the delay, I don’t know what happened. The first parcel was lost by UPS, remember when that ship got stuck and messed up global shipping? Then after a few months everything went quiet. The company reappeared in January 2024 and is filling all back orders.
  3. The easy way is to peer underneath the car and see if the rear axle has a drive shaft going to it. Or this site might help: What Generation of Haldex is on my car? – Haldex Parts and ECU Repairs by Auto Fault Finder Ltd (haldexrepairs.co.uk). There are a lot of factors that affect consumption, so you need to supply a lot more information if want a more definitive reply. If you do a lot of journeys less than 10 km then your consumption is very good. If longer trips on motorways, then fairly poor Your typical driving conditions urban/country/motorway and usual journey driving distance and average speed would be helpful for a more definitive reply Condition of car: distance on odometer, condition of diesel particulate filter (DPF) would be helpful for others to reply. Are you in Northern Ireland and working in miles or Eire with metric settings? I only ask because if the latter then you have to make sure you are converting L/100 to imperial mpg not US mpg for correct figures. Surprising how many make the mistake of using the Internet US preferences.
  4. ^^^ I have got my young lad interested enough in the Ioniq 5N to arrange a test drive of one.
  5. There is some kind of airlock. Check the header tank levels. It's worth checking to see if the Silicone 'bag of death' has split in the header tank. If it has, you need to get a coolant flush done asap, otherwise it will chaos with silicone getting into the cooling channels on the block etc.
  6. If it helps, the boot buttons are fitted to a variety of VAG cars. New they are expensive for genuine, I paid £20 for a second hand part labelled as an Audi part. Once the large inside plastic panel is off its easy to pry out the button and get a part number.

  9. +1 Mine is almost 7 yrs now and the DCC shocks r still good. 5 of those 7 yrs have been paired with Eibach Pro-kit Springs. No issues. U need to use the Search function of this forum - u'll find the info u need. You can find the how-to guide for the DCC Recalibration here. As for the DCC Slider Mod, u can find that discussion here.
  10. I can confirm. Some of the multimedia units will have a notice advising to use a newer part revision. Example:

Hi guy just taken delivery of a Karoq SEL .......part leather in black ordered November the 3rd last year
  12. UPDATE: got feedback from the workshop. They started troubleshooting, and quickly found out the fuel pressure sensor was done. So kind of fuel starvation? They were going to try to replace it and run some tests, and the car should be working tomorrow.
  13. As everyone else has a picture thread for each model, I thought we could have our own on here too. Photos to inspire, and share with other. Would like to see everyones Super B's (Superb for Gizmo) on here too! I'll start with my v6 4x4 Twindoor in Mocca Brown, with Ivory interior Standard so far, not quite sure what the plan is... I've owned it for about 8 weeks now, and I love it!
  14. Starting to get to grips with the new Scala. I like the way the adaptive cruise control automatically changes for the speed limits when the camera reads the signs, but it gets confused in some places where it thinks it's 60mph not 70mph, because it hasn't seen the national speed limit sign on the entrance to a dual carriageway, but halfway along it must read the sat nav data and corrects itself. I like the fact I now have android auto wireless, so for short journeys I don't have to take my phone out of my pocket and plug it in to use it. One niggle I have is that the rear seat belts now need to be plugged in all the time or it starts to ping at you and flash the red seat belt symbol at you. The other niggle I have now is that when listening to android auto and using the sat nav at the same time it now stops what your listening to while it gives the direction, where as the old system used to just over lay the announcement on top of the audio you were listening to. It doesn't do it when you are listening to the radio. I have solved it for the moment by changing the sat nav to just chiming when a new instruction is given, and this is over laid on to of the audio. One thing I do like is that the system starts much quicker when you turn the ignition on, compared to the old one.
  15. I wanted to thank all you Briskodians for your posts. As a new owner (less than a month) I am trying to get to grips with all the Superbisms and Skodaisms on my new Mk2 and reading your posts... old and new.... has been so helpful. Things that I have learnt so far from you include: That my Columbus is called a Rns510 and how to load firmware, and then update maps to v17, which I have done successfully. That if I hold down the lock button on my key for 2 seconds it folds in wing mirrors....and as this didn't work on my Superb initially, I also learnt how to reset this by (bizarrely) opening and closing the windows. Where to buy a car boot bumper protector for my Mk2 that fitted. Even the posts complaining about niggles with the Superb have been really enlightening and I have learnt loads not only about my car but also the expectations of other owners... I think as this is without a doubt the nicest car I have ever owned I am more easily pleased than many of you. 😍 I am slowly working my way through the owners manual as well... But your posts are much more interesting to read! So please reply if you can, with any other secrets that a newbie like me might not know. Thanks again Zea

Back in April last year I had the misfortune to have my car written by someone else, this started a massive car hunt for a replacement and some may remember I posted some photos of a white Superb which looked odd, and I thought that it might have been hiding something, I post these photos again here. To cut a long story short it was, at the time I had a loan car and the insurance company indicated that they wanted me to accept their valuation of my old car, and they wanted the loan car back. I'd driven well over 1,000 miles looking at other Superbs, and none of them lived to what I was looking for. I spotted this white one on Autotrader and as all the good cars had been snapped up within a day or two of being listed, I phoned the instant it appeared for sale, was told that the car had not been prepped yet so was not ready for viewing, so I decided to put a deposit down to hold it so when it was ready, I had first refusal, as long as the deposit was refundable, I was told yes. When the car was ready, I was called to view it. Off I went, with my son to London, when we got there the car was soaking wet from where they had just washed it, the inside was not prepped to any real degree, the car had its chrome trim put back in place and was hanging off in places, the windscreen has massive cracks in it, doors and bumpers had dents and scratches and the tailgate was very noisy in operation. The photos used in the listing never showed any of these, apart from the chrome trim was missing. I rejected the car, and then they refused to refund me as promised, I had a feeling something was wrong at the time, so I paid the deposit with my credit card for the extra security. My bank got my money back for me. I did some checks on the car while I was waiting for it to be prepped and discovered that they had actually used photos of the car, taken a year earlier, just prior to its MOT in March 2022 and the car had a fresh MOT on it when I saw it, that had already alerted me that this car was dodgy, and guess what, the dealer still has this same car on sale today and is still using the 2022 photos of it in the listing. I'm so glad my spidery sensors were working when I placed that deposit and not used my debit card, which I would normally have done. Tomorrow, 1st of June I'll have owned my current Superb for a whole year, and while it had 140,000 miles on the clock, it has proven to be a pretty good car overall, all the major items timing belt, water pump, brake discs, pads etc had been done, yes It's had a few minor issues since I got it, but is to be expected on a high miler. It passed the MOT again and breezed through the emission test, so all looking good.
  17. Check the battery is correctly coded into the car; If that's wrong it could explain all you reported codeds.
  18. The start-stop has a list of requirements before it will operate but if yours isn't activating when it normally would then simply recharge ASAP be it a longer drive where you're not using the battery power too much so that the battery can regain or very simple, easy (non) work recharge it with an appropriate battery charger maintainer reading and following the car's Owner's Manual and chargers instructions with as low slow long recharge as possible and get the battery to fully recharged even if it takes more than one go. Do it now before the battery goes down more and you could get much more useful life out of the battery, consider preventative charges too when required or reasonable. The heat of summer helps the battery to self-discharge more, twice as much at 30c ambient than 20c and twice as much between 30c to 40c ambient (like it was a couple of years ago) and of course cold winter weather, so just before or after these types of times, when changing to and from winter tyres if you do that, whatever suits. A battery maintainer if the car sits for many days or a few weeks. Using a battery charger may extended the life of the van battery too, make it a family heirloom for when you've gone to the Bus Lane in the sky. 😁
  19. Yeah perhaps done correctly to their Dealer level but perhaps not thoroughly as an owner might do it, being the owner and user, professional levels of doing work aren't necessarily the highest levels (or anywhere near sometimes). Sounds like you are lucky to have a good local Dealer, next time if they are still there and you still consider VWSkoda products you might be better buying the car from the local Dealer, just being local can be very handy but if they're also decent why risk elsewhere, there's a lot of low quality in the English car trade. Use the coolant gauge as just a gauge, obviously if it shows very high then it's very warm to hot, but the needle is biased to show a rock steady 90c even though the actual temperature could be a bit below and above this and fluctuate between, this is so ordinary drivers don't worry about the variances. Better to have the oil temperature showing in your dash to confirm against the coolant gauge. Have a look in your Owner's Manual for oil temperature range (80-110c IIRC), engine oil is fully warmed at about 90c so you want to be at or above that to have the oil working well, my wife's 1.2 TSI SE runs at about 95c only going much higher when pushed. What you have in your new formerly clean expansion tank might just be release residue dirt or wotever residue from the previous work done but the selling Dealership but it'd have been better to have got rid of that before fitting the new clean expansion tank and have it full of fresh clean (VW number) coolant, An old diesel might look rough but a newer and petrol with new tank and coolant should look factory fresh (almost perhaps?). Try one long drive with the heater on full cold, no fans going, and then the next same long drive with the heater on full hot and fan going at say '2', check everything reamains cold then hot and engine temps readings and that should satisfy you if all is well. I changed the "lifetime" VW coolant on my wife's 2015 Fabia and it was clean before I started and after I'd finished (no silica tea bag) and it was only a drain and refill (because VW make what should be an easy job with their PITA ways). Good luck.
  20. Try turning the Bluetooth OFF. Thanks. AG Falco

You could try 1K0511115BG rear springs. These are normally fitted to the Octavia MK2 front wheel drive estate with towbar. So if you've got a hatchback, they might be two or three up in the hierarchy to what was fitted in the factory. Lots of rear springs sold to replace (but not always matching) 1K0511115BG listed on autodoc https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/1k0511115bg?supplier[]=246&supplier[]=85&supplier[]=37&supplier[]=253 KYB RH6788 rear springs (matches 1K0511115BG) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235478942810 Kilen 63118 (matches 1K0511115BG) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355735726130 If you want to refresh the rear shock absorbers when changing the rear springs, Bilstein B4 19-183749 and Bilstein B6 33-158723 rear shock absorbers should both be suitable. The Bilstein B6 are particularly nice, because they have a superior mono-tube design whereas the cheaper Bilstein B4 have a standard twin-tube design. However, even the Bilstein B4 should work as well as the OE ones. 23. I just took a video of starting the car, activating the sync function. Then turning the car off and and on again, and showing how SYNC had disappeared from the left control, but the left control would work to control temperature on the left and right side of the car. Finally followed by changing the right control which would then immediately break the sync and the controls would then operate independently. Then, when I had the loan car I took another video of activating sync, then turning the car off and on again, and SYNC still being active on the left control.
  24. Okay so an embarrassing update😳I had a quick look under in the rain this morning and assumed it was the drive shaft. Got a look under the car now and that's the exhaust ( i know, mortifying😱). So the fuel economy is very poor. I'll need to get it checked out and order an ODBC dongle in the meantime. Apart from a longer run, is there anything else I can do to help trigger or complete a regen? Or other general maintenance tips for keeping the DPF happy? Thanks again for all the help!
  25. I have asked local Skoda dealer who asked the factory and after 2 weeks they stated that in cars which do not have multifunctional wheel it is not possible to change the layout of the digital display and the variant with a speedometer is selected. Skoda Scala Essence trim level for Eastern European countries does not include multifunctional wheel while in Western European countries it is included in Essence (lowest) trim level.
  26. Many thanks @Gerrycan for the detailed answer. The car has 200,000km on the clock and was (as far as the service history shows) was well looked after by one owner from new. I have no dealings previously with a DPF as my last VRS (2007 diesel) was remapped and had it removed. I'll probably need to look for best practice in keeping the DPF sweet. The fan runs after most journeys which I believe (!) is normal? As regards consumption the first few weeks was mixed driving - some short journeys, a couple of 100 mile/150 km journeys of motorway and some days on a 30 mile/50km run to work. This resulted in around 38mpg (around 610 km for 45 litres). In recent days it's been (mostly) long runs of over 100km on regional Irish roads (plenty of bends and gear changes). Very gentle driving most of the time resulted in 505km on about 33 litres. Big fat driveshaft heading for the back wheels do definitely a 4x4 - so lower consumption anyway! But is 40 odd mpg normal or acceptable or do I ned to check the DPF? Car was fully serviced before I bought it. THanks again!
  27. That brings up no results for a separate "fuel filter", when searching for that exact phrase for your VIN, just: 3Q0 919 051 Fuel delivery unit and sender for fuel gauge D >> - 05.12.2016 Yours was built 09/11/2015, so well within that date limit. That's been superseded by 3Q0 919 051 AD, which at £372 plus VAT for genuine new would be one expensive filter change if it is inbuilt! (and you bought genuine from Skoda).
  28. Seems like a proper Rolls. I think a 250 mile range will be fine for a car like this as any further it will be private helicopter or jet for the rich folks that may buy it. Even so, charging is unlikely to bother the owner either, Parker will do that!
  29. Apologies, it's a 2.0 tdi. The garage have said its a 7 speed.. very odd. M.O.T history is good, it's had 2 timing belt changes despite the age. All services have been main dealer.
  30. The part number you are after is 6Y0858332. You will not be able to get one of these from Skoda themselves anymore. As Sepulchrave says, your best bet is a breakers or eBay, I bought mine from the latter, but had to wait for one to pop up.
  31. My car was in for routine 30k km service yesterday. I had reported 2 issues detailed in this forum - a) car wont start for ~ 15 mins and simultaneously shows rolling errors on dash (now happened twice in 1 year of ownership - 6 months apart) and b) infotainment system on a continuous restart loop and volume mutes (happened only once about 1 month ago). I had recorded a video of 1st issue so had an exact timestamp they could use to search car's logs. They informed me that they found both of these issues detailed in bulletins and separate software patches were needed and applied for both. Service manager is "confident" it will resolve both problems. I am not as confident but all I can do is wait and see. Main software version of infotainment system remains at 1941.
  32. Probably built in to the fuel pump assembly in the tank, and no, definitely not worth replacing. Can check with VIN if you like.
  33. Dennis has covered it. The start/stop has a computer program for the battery so battery details are entered, plus it would help VW monitor build and any battery issues under warranty - there was a one time a Recall, when more likely it'd have been the computer program at fault as VW might not have ben as clever as they thought they were with it but as we all know they could be very clever with using computer programs to fiddle the figures when wanted. 😆 If you've not got start/stop then it might well be worth fully charging the battery with a charger, unless you have used, abused or neglected the battery too much, or a car fault has done so, you could well see more years out of the battery. Up to you of course. Good luck.
  34. If anyone was wondering, I gave up but I did find a solution. I have a DSG car so there is a hole cut with a rubber grommet covering it where the clutch pedal is meant to be. The insulation just needs to be moved to see it, and in the engine bay, it's behind the heat shield.
  35. you've also probably introduced air into the system hence why it won't start. You need to cycle the key a few times to let the pump push the air out. If it still doesn't work then you might need to pop the return fuel line and cycle the key until all of the air came out. If you're not car savy or don't feel comfortable handling fuel then you can guess what my advice would be.
  36. Went for the safety recall and other issues mentioned in my earlier post. The finally did some updates: 1. MIB from 1803 to 1941 (not 1969 😞 ) but still a lot better than i was. I will leave it on this for a few weeks before jumping to 1969 if possible 2. Audio Controller to 4019 - should fix my canton no Audio and pop issue. Plus the safety recall stuff. They did not fix the AC SYNC issue 😕 said it is normal for the 2021 build cars... 2024 car they had for service did not have any issue. but as their system did not show as an update available they did not do anything.
  37. This is on mine - MY17. We don't get L&K version here in Oz, but according to Skoda Erwin, it's based on a Style. From MY18 onwards it became full color, i.e. it changed the background color to match the ambient lighting color. Pre-MY18 can't do this sadly.
  38. I just looked myself as ours has a deadzone - Navitex seems to be recommended, but not sure about which screens they do.I For our 2017 model there's a good video on YouTube to replace the screen yourself for £25 with just screwdrivers - no soldering or anything. Maybe the Bolero is similar to fix ?
  39. Nigel, Thanks very much for your reply. I've looked in the online manual for my VIN model but I can't find any reference to the displayed message. I'll have a closer look and experiment over the next few days, but as the Infotainment features on this car are all new to me (my previous car was a 2007 Fabia!), I don't want to **** anything up on the system! I might need to go back to the Skoda dealer. That red light on my dashboard photo looks suspiciously like HAL's red light! Thanks again, Nigel
  40. I had the same issue when buying from Autodoc recently, even with cross referencing part numbers. Alot of what it said would fit was wrong when checking specs. I settled on ATE rust resistant discs front and rear and TRW pads, cost me £300 delivered which I thought was good considering. I did check Euro's and ECP but wasnt happy with knowing they were correct. I've read too many posts saying cheap Brembo arnt worth touching which Euros/ECP supply alot of. I wouldnt buy cheap or unknown discs either. The other option is going to a local TPS that supply VAG parts, some will serve to the public, some are trade only. FYI if the rears are solid they are 272mm, if they are vented they will be 310mm. I am pretty sure all facelift cars have 310mm except the 245 which has larger again I believe? If you decide to change the brakes yourself, when you do the rears its alot easier to whip out the rear shock absorbers to get good leverage to undo the triple square bolts that hold the caliper carriers on. Overall, it was a relatively easy job considering mine were 5 years old/45k on them.
  41. ETA: in a 2021 car perhaps you are expected to connect a phone - go against the computer at your peril. 😆
  42. Have a look at your Owner's / Instruction Manual for the infotainment and see what it has. Perhaps the previous owner/driver's phone is still logged in, owner/driver or seller/last user ought to deleted the info (same for ****Nav addresses) but people forget, garages, mechanics/technicians can forget or too lazy or not given enough time. VW Skoda Owner's manual link. - https://manual.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com/Models Below is from my wife's 2015 Instruction Manual. - If this doesn't work you could try a system reset, see if there are any updates or (admitted to) Recalls. Update portal. - https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/ Škoda Recall Campaigns - https://www.skoda-auto.com/services/recall-campaigns If all fails it could be hardware or software fault/glitch/brain-fart/programming, such is the beauty of modern cars. Many may not know that's it's not against any law not to have a "smart" phone in a car and use it, same as men are allowed to read instructions manuals, if they want to and very clever ones do. 😉 HTH.
  43. They changed the matrix. They changed the expansion tank to the revised version (denoted by an M on the end of the part number) no silica bag/insert. I had one installed when my silica ticking time bomb turned the coolant rusty coloured after my cambelt got changed...☹️. (My heater matrix is still partially blocked though, I just wear more clothes in winter and turn the driver vents off else my right hand turns to ice....lol) As mentioned the coolant should a nice tinge of pink, I can see to the very bottom of my expansion tank with the cap off. Looks like you can't. Take it back in and complain its not right! Do you have an even heat with the dash vents open on BOTH sides of the car?
  44. Indeed me neither, but I would have thought that a flush is not a flush if any residue still exists. Plus it's a brand new tank, matrix & coolant. I'd expect my coolant to be crystal clear ( albeit with a pink tinge ) after a bill of £889.90 I'm basing my opinion on what my coolant looks like, both before & after a belt & pump change, and it doesn't look like the OP's. However I've never had a flush due to a burst-bag so could be mistaken.
  45. They can on some VW group models. GPS tells when the engine can be off, or cylinder deactivation etc, recharge a light hybrid etc. But these are tried and used elsewhere and eventually Skoda gets or not.
  46. Going by my own experience, start stop only works if the car has been in moving. If I were to start my car and just leave it in park then it will idle until switched off manually.
  47. Took the car to the Skoda Owners Club event today. Still work in progress, but getting there.
  48. Recommending Biltein B6
  49. Replace it when the car struggles to start on a few consecutive days.
