  1. Yesterday I fitted a reversing camera. I set off the 'virtual pedal' whilst in the boot and ended up shut inside and had to shout for my family to let me out. 😂🤔😂

  3. 20 kWh @ 6.7 pence =£1.34, giving you 70 miles maybe. (3.5 miles a kWh.) 30 kWh £2.01, 105 miles. Eon Next 7 hours @ 6.7 pence a kWh.
  4. From a Skoda point of view, I think only one of the Enyaqs creeps below £40K? if you don't mind a smaller boot, Elroqs give you more choice including a bigger battery option. I believe rear seat space in the Elroq is similar to the Enyaq. 75 mile a day commute adds up in service costs and fuel - I used to do a big commute in a Fabia 1.9TD so the aforementioned Polo 1.9TD sounds spot-on! However it's still worth adding up what you pay in fuel per year, as it takes a lot of fuel savings to offset a cost of a new car, and even cheap rate overnight electricity starts to add up if you're using over 20 kWh per working day.
  5. Confirming that it works on Porsche PCM4.0 as expected.
  6. New rear discs and pads for me this morning - just over 9 years old and a smidge under 42,000 miles. It had two front lower suspension arms done in March for the MOT but apart from that maintenance costs have been minimal since I bought it.
  7. Don't have the car keys within 3m at the rear of the car. Leave the keys anywhere inside the car, or more than 3m away, or in a room inside the house, far away. It won't eat u then, nor try to decapitate u.
  8. Been there done that. In fact it was 2 years after I bought my Superb (2nd hand) that I realised I had a virtual pedal. Wondered why the boot kept closing for no apparent reason when I was loading shopping in & out of the boot.🤣
  9. Work had just released a new EV car scheme to us with some option that are even making me consider it. I've little interest in EVs tbh other than as potentially cheap transport so I have little knowledge of the cars or the tech these days. However we're getting offered salary sacrifice on EVs plus 4000 free chargin miles plus ev rates (it's with octopus so 5p kwh ev rate over night). Little 'un about to start school full time needing a daily commute of about 75mi a day total (cripes never noticed it was that much). Currently using some fairly petrol heavy cars so 32mpg ish. So couple of questions - any decent cost calculators online to see if it's worth it? I've looked at a few and they are terrible Need some direction re cars, looking for <40k, I guess about 200mi range (couple of days + spare), 5 seats that will take adults in the back, comfortable and not made of the same plastic that toys on kids magazines are made from. Octopus doesn't have all that many brands tbh. Not too bother about looks, it's a dishwasher on wheels after all.
  10. Coming from a remapped and slightly modified Fabia MK3 I wanted something a bit more sporty with a lot more oomph! Originally I had set my sights on a Meteor Grey Octavia, but when I saw my pop up on Auto Trader I didn't hesitate and a week or so later she was all mine!
  11. Hey Briskoda people, Just a quick note to say hey. In the south east of england with a 2007 octy estate (1.6 TSI)
  12. Hoping someone can help. I’ve read a few threads on here but can’t find one specific to our vehicle age. Basically, we purchased a Fabia (2018 pre facelift) for the wife last year to do school runs, shopping etc. it has 1 prev owner and full Skoda history. Now, it’s due a service and I called the dealer for a quote and asked what oil they will be using. I was told it’s 0w20 on their system for this vehicle. However, on previous invoices etc, it states 502.00 spec oil which is 5w40! There is mention of fully synthetic 5w on one invoice as well but no info on the rest. Bearing in mind this is the same dealer! So now I’m confused! Wasn’t planning on using this dealer anyway as it’s way too far, but wanted to find out what they had been using but they couldn’t tell me only that it states on their system that the recommended oil is 0w20. I just want the best oil to ensure long life of this little engine doing short runs. Cheers
  13. Yeh I went for the RPM Performance anti-drone one. Haven’t fitted it yet, it’s sitting at home. When fitted I’ll report back
  14. At least with VW cars, at some point in time, it was only the bigger cars that got "winter pack" that got "low fluid warning" built in. My wife's 2002 VW Polo with winter pack did not get "low fluid warning nor does her current 2015 VW Polo with winter pack. My personal import 2000 VW Passat 4Motion did get "low fluid warning" as it had Xenon headlights - but as it came from/through a Dutch dealership, or some other reason, the coding was set up wrong, so I needed to buy VCDS to sort that out as my local UK dealer said "tough - it needs a new dashpod, fitting and coding - and that will cost you quite a lot" - well a quick sniff around the internet and buying VCDS had that sorted sharpish without needing to buy any new dashpod - chancers! The cars that ended up with Xenon headlights, do use that low fluid sensor to stop washing the headlights when the washer fluid is getting a bit low - so leaving it for washing the windscreen only.
  15. There was a sixth gear upgrade for the 1.9TDi PD100 box. Bit pricey so I never sorted it on mine.
  16. I`ve read somewhere, that they are plug and play, even the Aliexpress ones. Had a problem myself some time ago, almosr replaced one, but it was just a moisture problem on the surface of the handles.

@fr1nklyn post 2020 models should be fine, but you can try 😁
  18. Thanks AP, much appreciated. 40.5 avg mpg?? Did you find a /gearbox design engineer at VW who managed to supply you with a higher 5th gear, if so give me his/ her name & number. It revs its heart out in top at 3000 rpm. A drop to 2800 to supply same top-end would be beneficial. Have a good day, once again thanks for your help... IainGill.
  19. I suppose first and foremost question for you, can you charge at home? Have driveway? I suppose you can charge at home when you mentioned 5p/kWh overnight. (keep in mind cheapest Octopus EV tariff is 7p/kWh) There's so many choices of EV out there these days, it'll be personal taste. In general, German premium brands are inefficient and built on modified ICE platform. VW ID range/Skoda El**/Renault are pretty good, using EV platforms. Korean/Chinese cars are very good EV's but stuff feels low quality. Forget Japanese and try to avoid Stellantis. Why not list a few of the options you like and we can direct you to informative reviews to help you narrow your searches.
  20. Mine certainly has a low washer fluid level warning; it’s pre-FL, which may or may not make a difference.
  21. A bit more than me, I'm on 5600 miles 😄
  22. According to the online manual you should have a warning message for low fluid level. It sounds like it's a fault. I had the same fault on a nearly new Passat I owned. https://digital-manual.skoda-auto.com/w/en_GB/show/74c16e67a62fd18b0088d10d1a760e7e_2_en_GB?ct=2d07bf56b150add4ac1445251cafd1ab_2_en_GB#titled58112657e40606
  23. Fabia still using older "press in" wheel bearing assemblies and not "bolt on wheel bearing assembles" - so not an issue for that exact detail.
  24. No, nothing like that. VAG cars use coding and adaptations for features and internal settings, and you're simply changing that with the software like VCDS or Carista. Don't get me wrong, it's still a lot of options and it can be dangerous if you don't set it up right, or brick your car until it's sorted, but when you know what you're doing, it's almost as simple as ticking a box here and there.
  25. It’s usually in the front of the manual on a sticker. Unless they stopped doing that now.
  26. Very much of personal taste as there is so much choice out there now but there is so much choice there is something to suit most people I reckon. The Renault Scenic I have was European Car of the Year last year ie 2024. The rear passenger space is very roomy and one has 4 USB C. Renault UK reduced the price of the Techno and Alpine version to under £40k to avoid the Expensive Car Supplement. Range 300 miles or so even in winter. Most nice EVs, with plenty of rear space are over £40k RRP. Struggling to think of any other in the same league as the Scenic. It is front wheel drive and "only" 220hp. Charging up to 150 KW though it does dip when that hits 50%. Running costs are low with both energy, servicing and even insurance all relatively low.
  27. We're not paying at all for cars right now so it making the choice a bit harder. We keep what we have and only pay fuel service (JCW so parts are a bit eyewatering) or start to cough 300-500 for a lease car but have little to pay for fuel. JCW probably worth £16-17k on Motorway.
  28. @wyx087 or @lol-lol for this. I am not a business user in Scotland. I am replacing a Diesel Estate with a MINI 5 door petrol & just using the MINI Electric i have for local use and home charging. When the MINI Electric goes back i will get a PHEV. Public Charging is far too expensive now unless using Tesla Superchargers. 2023 cars for me from now on, i loath the new standard safety tech from 2024 into this year.
  29. @Ootohere @wyx087 and @lol-lol are your one's for this I believe If I missed any out apologies.
  30. Is there any way to temporarily turn it off ? It tried to eat me about 6 times during my cam install...

No issues whatsoever with comfort, alignment or tyre wear. My current tyres, Continental MaxContact6 have done 50k+ kms, and r only now due for replacement soon.
  32. Go on either eBay or Amazon and get the one that comes with the specific VAG canbus lead and box I’ve got this one in a SE , just waiting for facisa plate h
  33. Thanks mate, its driving me nuts ! I've worked out its something to do with the temperature setting, below 18degrees its OK, 18-22 it gets worse & over 22 its really bad. That was with an outside temp of 14.

This might help. I am not definite as I haven't been down to the car to check, but looking at the picture, I think there is a circular slot at the bend (next to the wheel brace) in the foam for the locking wheel nut.
  35. Just as an update to this - mibsolution appears back up and running. MIB3 only has v332 now though so they may have had a bit of a cleanup of older files in case anything can't be found...

I've got the Hardrace Pro rear sway bar (7758) on my FWD Superb. It's 28 mm thick. Made a very noticeable improvement They make an AWD version too, which is 30 mm thick - 8781. It is the same for Superb, Kodiaq, Golf R and Passat 4Motion.
  38. On a single carriageway road I’d agree. But on a multi-lane motorway surely that depends on how fast the other traffic is going? To be clear, I don’t think it’s useful when overtaking on a single carriageway road, but it is on a motorway when often people in adjacent lanes are going at quite similar speeds.
  39. Hi SZABO, I experienced exactly the same problems that you describe for over three years with my 2020 Octavia. Endless trips to dealers all ended the same way. Lots of software updates, reboots, fuse removals and replacements, none of which worked. The infotainment system just continued to go crazy, doing it’s own thing and making the car essentially unusable and dangerous to drive. Tired of getting nowhere, I resorted to complaining to Skoda UK by email, detailing as much as possible all the occasions when the car displayed infotainment problems and sending several videos (with sound) showing the faults. I then received a phone call from a Skoda UK Customer Service agent who was quite sympathetic, and a case number was raised concerning my complaint. I was advised to book my car in to my local dealer and Skoda UK would liaise with them to decide how to proceed. Almost inevitably yet another reboot, followed by a software update was recommended and carried out. This was done in the early Autumn, and from then on until early April I had little trouble, apart from the radio occasionally starting up spontaneously. Then, on the first really hot day this year, all the old problems cropped up again including the infotainment system becoming permanently live, flattening and damaging the battery. I took more videos of the system malfunctioning and emailed them to Skoda UK once again. I also copied the videos to my local dealer who agreed to liaise with Skoda UK. This time the help and perseverance of my local Skoda dealer paid off and, after another reboot/software update failed whilst the car was still with the dealer, Skoda UK authorised a replacement infotainment screen under warranty. This was done last week. Since then, despite some pretty hot days, I’ve had absolutely no trouble with the infotainment system at all. Early days, I know, but I hope at last that this will be the end of the problem. My dealer was really proactive and helpful in all of this.
  40. Received my Sportline, manufactured between April/May 2025. DCC is noisy, after all introduced fixes by the factory so right now it is a feature of the new Superb4 probably until facelift model would appear. Otherwise I am very happy coming from B8 Passat. Interior quality is good, no cracks or whines, completely silent on the road. Materials are nice quality besides everything is sad black inside.
  41. No, you are already on the most recent firmware. All others check your PMs. The recommended way to make the firmware upgrade: 1. format SD (best max 32GB) under FAT32 2. unpack to root (metainfo2.txt and all the folders must be placed directly on SD, not in any folder) 3. insert SD card into the slot 4. enter Service Menu (long press MENU button)
  42. It is dead cheap and could be broken for spares and get that money back plus. Nothing much to do if it does run well and that haldex works. If the rear end is not rotten it needs little spending on it.
  43. Totally agree, especially for private use vehicles, and is the gist of my email to the Škoda DPO.
  44. I’ve given feedback to the Support team and expressed my frustration that whilst I pay the subscription for what I consider useful services (which includes the likes of mpg, distance, etc) disabling the driving score (which I don’t ask for) also disables stuff I pay for. Also asked them to pass the feedback as a requirement to the development teams (which they agreed to do). And yes, have emailed to the DPO too.
  45. The only obvious mod is the exhaust, I'm guessing at the very least, it's been mapped though
  46. Nice - I must admit, having a 15 year old Golf and a Superb estate, both with bonnet struts - I'm forever surprised by how much the Karoq bonnet weighs and the effort required to lift it..........
  47. Just check the firmware on your MIB2.5 system. This issue with incorrectly picking up the wrong location on the SD card - was a bug. For MIB2 Amunsden and Bolaro systems, you need to be on version 0480 (for SOP 4.x). Anything less than this - and you need a firmware update. If you are running 02xx firmware, its version 0253, if its 03xx firmware, then it should be 0363, if its 04xx, then it should be 0480. Press MENU (and hold for about 3 secs), go to firmware and firmware version.
