  1. Take it Arnold Clark to sort it out. The Motor OmbudsmanWhat is the Consumer Rights Act, and how does it affect m...If you bought your car after 01 October 2015, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies. This means that, when you buy the vehicle, it has to be of satisfactory
  2. Quite old for a hire car I didn't stand a chance 😁 G
  3. Nope I'll put you out of your misery... It was a 2008 Allure 1.2 manual in that bluey green colour It was actually a far better drive than I expected, that 1.2 was a punchy little thing and the 'nagging' software was nowhere near as bad as the Nissan Qashqai I had previously. What was amusing was my mate trying to drive it after years of driving and automatic... Lots of revs, clutch slipping and jerking...
  4. Thanks. As you predict, Skoda are being no help at all. Dismissive even. I am so angry at the lack of customer service. Their website says Skoda website says “"Tow bar preparation" for the Škoda Superb IV means the vehicle is equipped with the necessary fittings and wiring to easily attach a tow bar, but the actual tow bar is not installed. This allows for the tow bar to be fitted later, either by a dealer or specialist garage, without major modifications. This preparation includes mounting points and electrical connections needed for towing, making it simpler and quicker to add a tow bar when required. It ensures the vehicle is ready for safe towing once the tow bar is installed and properly secured.” Nowhere does this state that the towbar must be a Skoda manufactured one. I am not giving up...
  5. As you said it reverses pretty quick I assumed you had your right foot on the gas and the left on the brake. It shouldn’t reverse that quick on tickover. As Evolution13 said.

Finally took delivery of my 130 ordered in December, very pleased so far although having driven manuals for 40 years might take a bit of getting used to an auto!
  8. It should be on a data plate on the slam panel (very front bit) under the bonnet. I think.
  9. Chris Harris and friends have had a drive in the car and seem genuinely impressed with it. I'm becoming excited that this once great British manufacturer may survive and produce cars worthy of the marque...even if they don't have proper engines
  10. Hello Jay , welcome aboard. Gaz
  11. Have had cars pass MOT for years without them. As long as the discs are good and brakes work it should pass. Alasdair
  12. This is for a 1.4l, but might be of help to you.
  13. Lot of work going on Engine and all out Front off Shed load of parts to go on 6 speed has been taken from the vrsdi Spare 5 speed box from another monte gone in, bolts straight in etc, provided you swap EVERYTHING, works just fine. New shafts and all going in this. Finally the Cr170 turbo ive been sitting on for years being put to use Took some bits down to powerwash, intercooler came up insanely well, bit of polish and itll be golden. Subframe being stripped and repainted, again. Be touching up some bits of rust etc, very slight but its all apart so its being done. Turbo off. Box off. Currently at 188k miles. Clutch has had its day anyhow, never slipped never gave me any trouble, original clutch all along. Springs rattling around in it so was due in anycase. New rad and condensor. Rad was weeping slightly and not had working ac in years, used compressor going on also.
  14. AliExpress delivery day today for a few more upgrades. First off - battery clamp that I found was missing. Nice easy fit. Black Sportline badges (not the best photo as it was getting dark) Black mirror caps Again a relatively easy fit. Although the glass takes quite a bit of force to remove. As @JR RS found, the Chinese copies have the middle fixing tab in the wrong place. But secure well using the two side catches. Unfortunately the passenger side didn’t go so well…. I was shocked at the price of the auto dimming glass. £300+! So I shall squint into a £25 non dimming version in future. Hopefully Thursday I will get a chance to fit the black roof rails to finish the look. I shall put the links to the parts used in my project thread.
  15. No, just standard cruise.
  16. Hi, I guess, you should find answers here : and there : Both thread were "built" based on a December 2017 Superb Estate Mk3. Enjoy 😉!
  17. Hi all, Long time lurker, finally pulled the trigger on a mk3.5 superb l&k iV. Really impressed so far, very comfortable, great on fuel and plenty of space for the family. Came from a Leon fr, so getting used to not chucking into the bends 😅. Hope everyone is enjoying the recent good weather in the uk. I look forward to contributing to the forum, already had a good look about the various topics on here and can feel my wallet getting lighter. Cheers, Jay

A Mod can move your thread then. I will flag it for you.
  21. After playing about a bit longer I have managed to get it working thanx for your help 👍🏻
  22. DSG Oils. If not going to a Local Motor Factor for Oil & Filter then maybe a trusted trader like http://opieoils.co.uk
  23. That's interesting, thanks for sharing! In my case, I've provided dealer my VIN and the part number, they confirmed it was not fitted originally but they've shown no resistance and confirmed I can fit it myself. So they ordered the part and just today I've picked it up from dealer.
  24. Wow first guess is spot on... Seat Arona 1.0 115bhp Style manual in black over dark metallic blue. I'd argue that it's a size below what I ordered as I was quoted for a Peugeot 2008 which is 200mm longer but we squeezed the cases in ok and it's been a good little run around with far better tech than the Leon I had a couple of years ago. I'm actually glad it's small as some of the underground car parks in Spain are incredibly tight with just a few inches either side of it on the ramps.

I don't fully understand your post. How can going from a Fabia vRS PD130 TDI to a non-turbo SDI (64 Bhp) be an upgrade?
  26. The voltage reading at terminal 30 I think is battery voltage so at 12.109V seems to be low and will probably drop further when cranking which may be affecting starting etc. I may be wrong but maybe battery is low and could do with a check/charge. Alasdair
  27. If they normally failed they would have to be getting a fix for that, or would likely Exclude from a Warranty. What might be an External Influence like Sunlight or Deep freezing frost? Service Desk staff are really quite funny. You would think they were Guardians of the Money.
  28. I've spoken with national windscreens today and they have said as the bracket has fallen away it would require a replacement screen as the bracket is bonded to the glass at manufacturer. Booked in with JCB Skoda Maidstone for the 9th of June which is the earliest date they had. We have only had the car 11 months and when we bought it we were given a 3 year warranty which we increased to 4, but straight away they service guy stated it probably won't be covered by warranty as they don't normally fail so could be some external influence.
  29. I did have one fail once as the front one was badly coroded/loose and not held on by much. The MOT guy said he wasnt allowed to remove it himself but if I ripped it off he would pass it. Alasdair
  30. Skoda have Customer Services and Bots / AI and contractors providing the service. No idea if Ireland use the same system as VW Group UK, but they can be so so and sometimes almost brilliant. But then that is how many Customer Services are now.
  31. At the end of the day, everything boils down to the individual that you are dealing with,,and unfortunately in too many instances, you will unfortunately, meet the one who is completely unsuited for such front of house position. And from previous experience with the local dealership, the help I got was grudgingly given, because I didn't buy the car from them. I'm not to eager to repeat the experience. But I do get your point, and thanks for your help, Best Regards, Jim.
  32. Just to close the loop on this: For reasons I cannot explain, my latest charge last night DOES show in the app's charging history. I made no change to any settings in the app or car. Well, that's the wacky world of software for you.
  33. I do not chase the most recent software and stay on 1941 still. So far did not regret once, reading this forum I see people have many issues on newer versions which I don't. So if everything works, I'd say stay on 1969.
  34. No worries. That’s the joy of a forum. Everyone gets to chip in and you learn a lot! Fingers crossed the wheel works as I hope!
  35. The trouble with wreckers now is they all see the prices achieved on eBay so there’s no bargains anymore. Getting there finally. Got a few more fix up jobs and cosmetic thing to do. Then I’m deleting AliExpress app!
  36. A Dealership or Skoda Ireland should act like professionals and help someone that has a Skoda Vehicle and might buy another or might not on how Customer Service. Is. It is not Skoda Secret Service other than when there are Recalls, Sworkshop Actions, Software Updates etc.
  37. Sorry was for the Other User
  38. A little unusual, but possible that slightly lower voltages could have been upsetting the oil level sensor. Much more common for TPMS and SS warnings when the battery is starting to struggle. Just monitor and see how it goes. Find yourself a reliable independent service garage.
  39. The end of a very hot day 🥵
  40. At the Res earlier................
  41. Mine was 10 months out of warrenty 😕
  42. Posting this incase it helps anyone... A couple of days ago my 2020 Octavia 1.5 petrol started having this issue. I went out to the car after it had been parked overnight and the infotainment screen was lit up and the radio was playing, even though the car was parked and locked up. Then when driving the system was continually restarting over and over. I disconnected the battery overnight hoping that would sort it out, but the issue persisted the next day. I read somewhere that this is either a hardware fault with the infotainment control module if you're unlucky, or possibly due to issues with your skoda driver profile getting stuck in a loop when it tries to sync with the cloud. I switched to the guest profile and then removed my driver profile and did a factory reset of the infotainment system. So far, since doing that the issue has disappeared. Time will tell though if it's fully resolved it. I'm going to give it a couple of days before adding my profile back. I'm guessing that this advice may already be in this thread somewhere, but thought I'd add my experience incase others have recently faced this issue and head straight to the last comment like I did. 👍🏻
  43. I've got a Yeti and before I ordered it back in 2013 I took the advice of the most knowledgeable Yeti owners and got Skoda UK to agree 16" wheels rather than the standard 17" wheels. Thirteen years on they have withstood British roads and potholes well, I find them comfortable to drive on and when I've had to buy new tyres I'm happy saving around £40 a tyre compared with the 17" option. I'm on my second set of Michelin Cross Climate tyres and they seem to suit the car well. (For what it is worth, I've also found the MCCs pretty quiet in terms of road noise).
  44. The claim: We're moving to LED because they will outlast the vehicle. The reality: Well they would if we didn't install the cheapest, lowest quality garbage we can get our hands on, to hopefully limp through the warranty period...
  45. Well, I can't give any advice for aftermarket units (especially chinese ones based on Android) but if you would like to get MIB STD2 PQ unit you can contact me. It should also be possible to repair your Columbus, this seems like a typical failure of PowerPIC that requires just resoldering.
  46. All finished off gloss white with wax coating on top. Car passed clean sheet this time. Normal exhaust painted and back on. New fitting kit for the rarb, painted it yet again. Fixed a few other things, cb etc, refitted brace too. Also got a few things off skoda parts, including an old irc sticker, always wanted one.

Lucky have a carport so was under cover nice n dry...... Don't worry about terminology I'm as bad.... So yes the sound proofing (the felty type stuff yeah?) underneath there are plenty of gaps to put the wiring in. This was the easiest part of the lot underneath and across to the right hand fuse box. So along the roof you can just prise it open just enough for the wiring to push through, where it can then be held enough. Going down the left pillar then, again prising the plastic trim just enough for the wire, then pushing the rest of the wire down near enough prises open the trim as you go down. It's also covered by the rubber door seal. Then before cutting across underneath the dash from left to right, theres a joint between the pillar trim and the floor trim, ended up tucking the cable between the joint, and under the dash, tucked under then all the way from left to right. I'll do a quick video tomorrow and put it up on YouTube.
