  1. You lock it touching the sensor on the raised area on the outside handle and not using the fob. Only if you have the newer Kessy Advanced system does it 'Autolock' or unlock as the key fob goes over 1.5 meters away. Or comes back into within 1.5 meters.
  2. AFAIK, auto relock only operates if the vehicle is unlocked, then left for more than approx. 35 seconds without any door being opened.
  3. Finally, I found the VIN/ Weights plate and yes, it was on the bottom of the "B" pillar, low down, and on an inward curve to the rocker / sill panel, difficult to see at nigh time, and even in good daylight also because half of it is in the shadow of the rear door. Anyway, here it is, and apologies for the delay. Thanks for all your help and Best Regards, Jim. Kodiak Piller Plate Weight 20260621_151145.heic

  5. One option is to remove the other three wheel covers, clean the wheels and leave them exposed. You can get a set of wheel centres, etc from a Škoda dealer.

Hi, so yes the independent report was £390 and we waited until Thursday this week to get the report. They stated it was not driver style and listed a number of underlying issues it could be including slippage and other issues with transmission. They indicate it was the cause for the first clutch needing replaced too. It didn’t nab the underlying fault unfortunately so now we are waiting on the garage. This whole time I’ve not had a car, no offer of a courtesy car and the branch sent me a letter to say I’ve been ‘specially selected’ to be sold a brand new car on great terms. The whole thing stinks.

Yup my mpg always better when spring arrives. Anyway its a brake issue as had someone look today and will know more tomorrow
  8. No i am sorry i don't have it anymore.
  9. I am gonna check my laptop of it's still there one moment
  10. The ota is not that accurate. It is possible to do the update yourself. I don't have the software anymore. It is written here on the forum how to. Change of the screen is really simple but a good screen will cost around 400 to 600 euro. New around 1000 to 1200 Hope you will found a solution. Otherwise the volume slider disconnect. Then the problem is also solved. This is also to find here on the forum
  11. Yep that is correct. The hardware Version h44 is the problem. The H49 hardware Version is build in end 2023 and newer. You can replace them without any problems. I have mine for 10 months now. Untill now no problems
  12. As far as we know this is hardware related.
  13. 1989 is the newest version.
  14. ^ She's a bit too far north to collect Columbus. I hope someone managed to get a message to him ...
  15. Try switching the car radio from DAB to FM. Even if you're using bluetooth or android auto, the DAB selection in the background can still cause issues. No idea how that works, but I had crashing software for a year before I fixed it with this change. A software update made no difference, and Skoda Garage mechanics blamed it on a specific IOS problem, even when I told them I don't have an iphone lol. The DAB fix came from a sales representative who told me lots of customers had my issue, but didn't seem to after separate repairs removed their DAB antennas - a solution found by coincidence. I found that just switching the radio to FM fixed it.
  16. That was my thoughts. The SF3 as on websites they are marketed as having a rim protector too and have a good comfort profile. Not as comfortable in the motorway as continental though apparently? Best wet grip but not as good range or lifespan apparently. But although we dont get a lot of UK snow. When we do. We need traction and apaprently Michelin or Goodyear do it better. Pros and cons to all my options. Guess the question is. How much are Sf3s better at rim protecting than the rest. Surely all premium all season tyres will offer some degree of rim protection?
  17. You didn't say the car's year. Earliest may have had hydraulic power steering but the majority have electric power steering. Check the fault code as it may be just be a sensor issue. Common reason for the steering wheel symbol is that it has lost the information on the position of the end limits due to disconnection of the battery. A bad cable will do the same. Lock to lock movement is the reset but if this doesn't work, read the fault code.

On about 720 miles now revving up to 5k so still steady driving , I am loving it but I seriously think it needed a manual to make it perfect to me

If the original fob works fine I agree its most likely the new fob. Wonder if theres a way to compare signal strength beteen them. Maybe an auto locksmith could check. Also check that the new fob is operating on the same frequency as the original? Had a quick google and Ai says its 433.92Mhz for Skoda but it came from Ai??? Think it should be written inside fob somewhere. Alasdair
  21. I would check that the garage used a full kit and what make and not just the clutch disc. If as Warrior pointed out if it was a diaphram/spring failure on the original and it wasnt changed the new clutch isnt going to last very long. Have heard of a few clutches being replaced at around 15k which I reckon would point to a manufacturer defect somewhere along the line. Sons MK1 fabia had 60k on the clock and clutch totalled itself. No warning or prior slipping just suddenly no drive in any gear. All that was left was a bell housing full of clutch fibres. His was older so I put it down to the age of the clutch. Alasdair

Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and leaves us in situations we'd rather not be in, and there's little to nothing we can do about it. Fully understand your view point given the position you have found yourself in, all the best in the future - CNC.

I have a meter but wouldn't know how to test it and seeing as it's working at the moment I'm loathe to interfere with it 😱 plus 2 locksmiths have had the same problem so seems a bit weird, I would love it to be just the battery as everything points to that

hi everyone, from Croatia. Specialized in VAG vehicles. Looking forward to help each other on this forum. Regards
  25. I did it today, worked like a charm. Had some trouble disconnecting the antenna cable from the radio but otherwise it was really simple. I used the clamp with the voltage regulator board and could read the chip from the first try. Total cost was 9 USD including the ch341a and the radio keys both from AliExpress. Thanks for the information
  26. @Alex707070 do you have an update on this replacement clutch failure? I'd associate breakage of the clutch diaphragm with a sudden failure as you describe - this would almost certainly NOT be normal 'wear and tear' or 'driver error'.
  27. Only things I can guess is that they are referring to the refrigerant pressure sensor, or the solenoid valve that varies the throughput of the compressor. Ask them which of these is the problem, according to the diagnostics that you have paid for. Whereabouts are you based?
  28. Just got the bill for this £232 inc VAT & Fitting! OUCH!
  29. Yup, just removed the air bag, old wheel off and this one on with everything working as it should using the same airbag. The dealer checked compatibility etc before hand
  30. Mission accomplished! Thanks to all those who helped!
  31. I don't recommend attempting to replace filter without draining oil, you'd finish up with a lot of oil on the drive. Bite the bullet and do it properly would be my advice.
  32. Glad I polished the car roof 😄
  33. 73/100 is provisionally sold pending full payment. Deposit received.

Pictures 1 and 3 are 100% damage from bird lime and not the responsibility of the dealer or manufacturer. That said it would never have lifted the lacquer on say a MK1 Octavia but modern vehicles use low VOC water based paints.
  35. This definitely doesn’t work from my car. I left it unlocked walked into the house and left the keys in the sitting room, then went out after a minute or so and it was still unlocked. I read somewhere on Google that this feature will only apply if it has a particular interface installed. I’ve no idea if I have that interface 😅. So as things stand it seems it’s either a fault or I don’t have that particular feature.
