  1. Hello, I made a solution for this kind of issue and also made a short movie how to fix touch panel under the black panel which is under the display if you have problems with self clicking or volume goes up or down all the time - this is the solution. Sometimes when on/off button is self clicking all the time - unit keeps rebooting as well.

3rd agree, should be attached to the exhaust as they look like dampers to me. Also there is no tray, they go into a cross member between the subframe. Thats without looking at a parts list.

Agreed... They are the exhaust hangers (or in this case they are 'inverted' hangers

After a two year gap on “other” brands, I’m back with my 7th Skoda, which will be a 2019 Superb Estate Sportline with a 1.5tsi DSG. Its main duties will be carting one or two MTB about (inside) and taking us, our Labrador and grandchildren in various combinations on days out and holidays. On the test drive for the Superb I realised that I’ve really missed the Kodiaq that I sold. I’m impressed with the DSG in the Superb compared to the one I had in a 2012 Octavia VRS. Seems a lot smoother, but perhaps I “enjoyed” the VRS rather differently. ACC and DSG is a very interesting combo in traffic. Can’t wait to try that out properly. Forum is still a great resource. Thank you. 😎

I have spent a lot of time on this and made some progress. Firstly, for those who don't know (including my garage) the aircon drain tube exits into the transmission tunnel inside the drivers footwell, underneath the footrest ( same as Octavia (Screenshot_2019-05-22-21-35-34.jpg.9c10c83445932916cf97ab10ce1b31a2.jpg (1440×2560) Even though I had checked that water was draining from the scuttle under the windscreen, I took it all apart and found quite a bit! There was a build-up of debris (dense, like wet soil!) in front of the drain on the O/S, acting like a small dam. Just above there is a hole through the bulkhead, which should be sealed with a grommet - mine was missing. When I poured water onto the windscreen, which ran into the scuttle, it pooled in front of the 'dam' and whilst a lot went down the drain, quite a bit went through the hole into the drivers footwell just behind the accelerator pedal. I plugged the hole with a large amount of Bluetack, cover the whole area with Gaffer tapeand formed a really good seal - result no more leaking into car. I then removedthe mudflaps and prised the inner wheelarch covers away, to find a mass of 'compost' and dry leaves, mostly on O/S. Why this isn't part of the service schedule, say every 50k miles, I don't know. It would take a mechanic 10-15 minutes to do this and prevent a lot of problems. Having done all this andchecked the drain tube (shown in photo) was clear, I ran the car with aircon engaged and the drain tube end put in a bowl - water dripped in, so all seemed to be working, so reseated the tube end into the chassis hole and it then dripped out underneath the car. For the moment, I'm hoping it's all sorted. Placing towels etc. underneath the felt-type soundproofing under the carpets, to try to dry everything out. I'm now going for a beer and a lie down!!
  6. So many new and nearly new and hardly used EV bargains about though. Cars cheap as chips. Cost to Public charge is high or pretty much as fuelling an ICE costs. Home charging is no place near the cost of liquid fuel, but there is a charger to pay for. Unless like me you use a 3 pin plug cable. eg, 350 miles for £8.00 or so while Petrol or Diesel @ £8 a gallon or so might take you 35-60 miles.
  7. Running costs may be cheaper but the cost to change is still very large and takes a long time to recoup. This is what matters to most people. I'm sure you'll mention cheap PCP deals on EVs but they done matter to many people buying through savings or second hand.

Unless I'm missing something, aren't they supports for the exhaust rather than pipes?

I bought that one because Bink said it worked and cheap, been faultless
  10. I don't do less than today trucks and if want or need to go slower then just get off the motorway. Scenic does have a Misubishi cousin i gather now and the Nissan Ariya is also with the same under pinnings mainly though they have 4 wheel drive Nismo version with over 400 hp as one of the variants.
  11. Appreciate All @Evolution13 @Lee01 @Breezy_Pete for their time and trying to help me , Yeah Fabia Mk1 have cable and Mk2 have just lid lock no motor controlled flap through central locking system. Thank you so much for clearing my confusion happy that this is not issue. Flap has not been opened for months and so it was jammed was scared to force it but slight wiggle had opened it and at least I can see understand the mechanism . Once again thank you so much for your support. Kind Regards
  12. If you just want maps the Official Skoda website has them available for download , as long as your Official Skoda SD card has enough space for the new maps you will be fine, some older official Cards are to small for the new maps to fit on, hence why people suggest a new larger "Official" card (the standard MIB2 Units are locked down to only use official SD cards). The mib-helper website is a good place to start for information about updating or patching you system, or there are some very good YouTube Videos on the subject too.
  13. I use all sorts. Clean glass with white vinegar or meths if I don't drink it and rub with old newspaper then Rain X, fog X clear glass or whatever. Buff with old y fronts or a soft cloth. Treat window rubbers. Or not bother sometimes. Today I did most of that 3 times. Brae nicht the nicht, fair drawing in.
  14. You just press in flap and it opens. Unless stuck. Frozen winter time. Czech built cars. Not that great in island nations. Some even had an ice scraper you could not get to.
  15. That's what my Google says as well. Don't the MkII's have a release cable in the boot somewhere under the trim panel?

Hi. I have the cheapest one I could find on AliExpress and it has literally worked flawlessly since the day I got it. https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ex5BdpG
  17. @Rhencullen Have you ruled out the tailgate dampers not being the cause of the rattle? Have a look at this thread for more details... Link to forum thread
  18. Where the door wiring loom passes from door to A pillar is definitely a know cause of door related electrical problems and is usually only a matter of time before continual flexing of the drivers door loom (which obvious gets used more than other doors, except I guess in a taxi) causes a wire to break and give problems. Mine went at 93K miles at the start of COVID. Just shut off main speaker in driver's door (initially thought I'd gone deaf in right ear :-) but depending on wire that breaks, can affect any door as I believe main module for controlling all doors lives in that door. There is a design flaw in original door looms where the wires are slightly too short and hence flex excessively / kink rather than bending smoothly. So if one wire has broken, very good chance others are not far behind. Hence, rather that face a future of playing whack a mole chasing ongoing breakages and faults, had complete new door loom fitted. The new door looms have been redesigned with slightly longer wires to overcome the known problem so in theory should last life of the car, I've certainly done another 88K since then without further problems so fingers crossed the redesign has worked. You can buy repair looms to splice into loom just before it leaves the door which in theory fixes all wires in one and you essentially end up with the redesigned loom. But a lot of effort to solder all those wires and so makes sense to me that once you have the door opened up that you do the job properly and replace complete loom as a single plug and play operation. Before you do anything though, recommend you get the car scanned to get full list of fault codes as whilst the door loom looks favourite here, there could be other issues at play (e.g. genuinely faulty control module).
  19. Hi, I will make ebay auction for it asap and let you know. that touch panel was made by me. works great, already repaired 50 pieces of that radio in octavia 4. The problem is gone.
  20. Hello @LivornoBart , That's really amazing. Thank you for sharing with us. Can you also provide more details about the sensitive touch PCB being replaced(Part no, web link where we can buy it)? All the best
  21. Dear Team , All sorted . Great learning it took some time but I feel have built up good knowdgle for airbags related wirirng , connectors and about seatbelt tensioner etc. Always grateful to Pete @Breezy_Pete for his timely and invaluable guidance, he had kindly provided all necessary material and support to accomplish the task, without his support I would have not dare to start the project. Please DM me anytime should you need any knowledge on electrical related to AIRBAGS. It is NOT rocket science but need lot of patience and time. I have faced challenges at multiple stages but finally had happy ending. thanks Kind regards

Had the same on our Kodiaq and gave up with it. I replaced it with an AAWireless2 that works flawlessly
  24. The whole point is that self charging hybrids and plug in hybrids still rely on combustion engines. Self charging only have an very short ev capacity and PHEVs, mostly are not plugged in they used as tax dodgers.
  25. The reduced Oil Refining facilities in the UK and none in Scotland is not good for Transport Fuel or petrochemicals security in the UK and the reliance on LNG from the US is a risk. The Scottish Dual Fuel Ferry Glen Sannox that has been nothing but trouble & hugely over budget has been running on diesel since July. A major issue that seemingly was not life threatening. We will see..... A valve and sensor issue and lack of shared information from a manufacturer about updates and modifications to the owners / operators/ staff maintaining and sailing the ship.

Rubber mounted exhaust support, as far as I can see.
  27. Light Goods and HGV,s will be fuelling up with DERV for many a year. as will many millions of diesel cars, and petrol cars will be getting fuelled up for a decade or 2. As to BEV,s, plenty people that can offroad park and charge off the road are still not buying or leasing BEV,s. The wish and dream of Politicians or Interested parties is just not happening at the pace they would like.
  28. Price-gouging. Three Monkeys Government / Government Agency. Supposedly the Competitions and Markets Authority found no evidence of that by UK Fuel Retailers. Or 'Widespread Price Gouging in the UK'. Obviously they are incompetent and not fit for purpose. I have never understood why only one Competitions & markets Authority, or as the were called Competitions Commission. They have a monopoly on things.
  29. Toddington services near Lutton i gather. Profiteering !
  30. Here, they shove the price up instantly without filling their tanks
  31. Last week I paid £1.80
  32. Fancy a coffee and maybe a few litres of fuel ?
  33. 334 being the main OS?
  34. Simple really, best wait until there are Cars on Display at Dealers or Shopping Malls that can be sat in at least if not until there are Demonstrators to drive, otherwise you might have buyers / leasers remorse for 3 years.
  35. First you have to patch it using More Incredible Bash. Audi systems require licenses for map updates. More Incredible Bash will write the lifetime map update FEC that’s default on Skoda and VW as an example.
  36. Hmm, with the dpf deleted wouldnt the car smoke a lot and blow big black clouds of exhaust fumes out the back, with that kind of oil consumption. Personally wouldnt want to be driving behind your car...the exhaust fumes would smell really terrible and couldnt see **** for a while🤣. A working dpf really makes a difference, the diesel exhaust stays clean and doesnt smell anything like the old diesels did. Also in my country its illegal to delete dpf, if you get caught, the fines you get from doing that are counted in thousands of euros.
  37. Hmmm.....I'm sure I get a dash light showing a car skidding.......? I'll check tomorrow......
  38. Amundsen maps need to be on an SD card that had the correct ID so it is (or looks like) a genuine Skoda card (or it appears you can hack the Amundsen to accept maps any card) - I use a 32GB genuine card I got off eBay. Amundsen music can be on any SD card - I use a 256GB SD card.

    2014 Elegance 4wd, DCG, 2.0 diesel 170BHP - does this photo help?
  40. Plenty TDI,s (Millions) are on long Service / Variable / Flexible oil and filter changes and used with the annual mileage and usage to suit that and do not use excessive oil.
  41. That's the same update @MartiniB posted in July, thanks for the repost, can't wait for the next one.
  42. I think job cuts were always on the table. Once they moved to low volume and only two models (I think there is another in the pipeline) it was almost certain. It looks to me like they are aiming to be a lower priced Aston type of manufacturer, with initially very low sales, moving up to simply low-volume sales. Initial reviews seem to think the car is superb in all the things that a Jaguar should embody, but I can't see that saving them. They need something beautiful as an opening number, not brutal and minimalist. Mind you, I can see rappers buying them.
  43. Is that not the one posted above.
  44. This is why I love forums, just whipped the tags off the plug, flipped it over, 5 minute job and it’s transformed the sound entirely. Nice one @spacelord
  45. Worked perfectly but it was to hard to get it readed the clap is tricky i Have unsoldred and soldred back
