We've just dumped a Thatcher loving 'Cold War warrior' PM who couldn't get over his obsession with old style union/management warfare.

So vag reports over 2 billion loss in the last quarter and a drop in sales and not one worker on strike.

Maybe they shudnt have lied then

So vag reports over 2 billion loss in the last quarter and a drop in sales and not one worker on strike.

Sales were down 3.7% for the same period of the previous year. The 2bn 'loss' includes 6.7bn they have set aside for some of the costs of the scandal.

Why would the workers go on strike?

I am not excited because VW is losing money, German government will help them.

I am only excited about fix of my 1.6 tdi 2011 vehicle and consequences to performances of any kind, resale price drop...

1. Can I refuse to perform car fix?
2. Ask for car exchange with new one?
3. buy a new car with not so negligible discount
4. If they are going to buy back vehicles, then how to make fair assessment of vehicle value, due to mileage, age...?
5. What if I dont want to change my car and dont wan to fix it?
6. What about poisoning of my family? Do you know how many VW-s in my underground garage are parked?

The Boss of VW and the Boss of VW China (& the Boss of Germany) are in China telling anyone that will report it that all will be well,

VW is big and great and will continue to do fantastically well.

'Those bad people that did them wrong will suffer seriously'. etc

So once they start getting honest, and telling what they knew, when the knew it, what they are going to do,

and do they know their ar53 from their elbow?, it will be sorted.

*They are using getting caught out and revelations a month ago as an excuse for the growing mess the company was already in.*

Amazingly VW do really seem to think telling people nothing really is helping them gets out of this mess.

Keep feeding out 'German Customer Satisfaction Poll results' 'Trust in the Corporation polls'.  'We will stay Customers of the Company that Employ us and our family members' polls..

2016 and then we will see how much the sharn hits the fan,  putting off the inevitable now will be costing them even more.

Europe takes emissions seriously. Not!

Anyone else think this thread should be closed? Quoting from newspapers etc just to keep your post count up is BORING.

Should stay open...

It's minimum one year in front of us to finish this... emission scandal...

It's minimum one year in front of us to finish this... emission scandal...

So does that mean it will take a year before anyone gets to read Anzio's post about closing it? Drat :(

.....or one could always go to that other forum looking for contributors.

Once you have posted in here, it will always draw you back in!!! The 'My Content' page always shows the updates, so you have to visit. I must admit I don't bother with the links posted any more though.

For me the emissions thing has been done to death and then some. Nothing genuinely new seems to come up, just links to the odd news article. I'm more interested in the fall-out now. things like will the new Golf 400 get put on the back burner? or What about the next Bugatti

Oh Amanda! I think I'm falling in love with you.

Well at least it's good to see VW reprioritising quality ahead of quantity.

It's not really started yet Just over 2500 posts and up to now it's just speculation, apart from not being able to sell or px a Vag as easily as you could prior to the trouble.

the answer to your problem is in your own hands, that you opt to no longer read it. I am sure there are many who want it to continue as a medium whereby they can be kept up to date, and read the views of others, which could be of great use to them. So we expect not to read any more postings made by your goodself.

In any case forget the 'length'

Feel the width.....errr I mean 'depth' (of the discussion)....where exactly IS the corner anyway?

'nothing new comes up'.

'Just the odd new article'. 'Nothing genuinely new seems to come up'.

The VW CEO speaking in China  & the UK Transport Minister speaking in the House of Commons came up,

Brand new, happened yesterday or the day before,

and was there to read in The Guardian, Telegraph  or some other Journals & if anyone missed it, it was there in easy to click on links.

Who cares about post counts, ? certainly not me, (wipe them for all i care.)

but i wish those always wanting threads closed and getting on about others posting would count how often their posts are about members, post counts, IBTL posts etc.

But Ziltz on the subjects the threads are on.

(Not always men over a certain age that have a Yeti, but often it can be. Not always SUV Diesel Drivers that might be emitting high Nox, but some might well be, low mileage but they tow a caravan so need that torque.)

Thank goodness for WWII and how the Free World has free speech and for ColinD with a Forum that has a General Chat Section, since some like the Yeti Section is never allowed OT.

Papers now speculating of £500 compo to VAG owners for loss in value since the scandal started and that alone would be £600 million ,I'm sure the solicitors will take at least double.

It's that word again!!

If they had any sense then they would offer VAG Group customers £500 - £1000 ontop of any valuation of your vehicle when it comes to trade in therefor offsetting the impact of the devaluation on their customers but simultaneously guaranteeing loyalty.

As a petrol head occasionally watching this thread I note that most owners seem rightly concerned about the devaluation and hassle and potential change in performance.  Fair enough.

With VW-Audi Group diesels making up about a twelfth of all new cars of the last 6 years or so and the apparently fact that they actually put between twice and six times as much dangerous Nitrogen Oxides in to the air we all breath as the lab tests on the VW engine showed it would be nice if SEAT, Skoda, VW and Audi affected diesel owners not only considered their plight with these cars but other people who suffer from the emissions of these cars, and other diesels,by driving their cars in consideration of the facts exposed by this scandal ie use a light foot, use an ECO setting and get the fix ASAP, and I am happy you get any compensation due, even if it bankrupts VAG who do not deserve to continue without totally changing their ethics, as this is the bigger picture ie public health rather than individual wealth.  Thanks for you time.

And another one added to my Ignore list!!

Have you opened the Friday night bottle of wine early today?
