Hi Sasha,

Have you ever had to deal with the chrome strip around the AC vent peeling off? Its starting to come out on my car and I remember the dealer had repaired it once previously under warranty during a routine service.

Hello Sasha, did you take pictures of BCM retrofit?  what part did you use?

I´m thinking of switching mine to, can i buy the same partnumber but for oder brand for example audi or volkswagen?  5Q0937084CQ

I got mine on eBay, don’t know if they are on Amazon. Search gas strut 55 and see what comes up. Camera came from eBay but can’t recommend the seller as it was wrong the first time and has taken 7 weeks to sort the issue. I don’t even know if this one is gunna be an NTSC camera yet! There are plenty of them around on eBay/AliExpress and I imagine they are all the same product. I’ll leave some links once I’ve got it working :)

Hi, so do you mean that is not possible install a rear camera if Octavia has no parking sensor?

Hi, how did you mamage the 30 colours for background lighting? Is it really playing with the RGB values one by one via vcds?

I've managed to figure out how to add more colours.

Just to check, after having the new colours is there any other adaptation to be done so that the door trims lights are synced? Asking because when I selected the new colours, only the MFD and HU colours changed, but not on the doors.

Hi, I haven’t, that seems odd, maybe the adhesive is failing?

5Q0937084CG flashed to CQ 0253 S/W. It’s not for the faint of heart and yes you can use any brand, mine was from and Audi but you need the correct dataset to get it to work correctly.

That’s how it was on my car, it wouldn’t work without the sensors being fixed but that may not be the case for other cars.

You need to add the same RGB values in the LIN and LIN 2 colour lists to do the door strips.

Forgive me if it's already detailed somewhere in the last 86(!!) pages, but have you mentioned what software/hardware you have to enable you to do all your programming?

I have OBDEleven, VCP and ODIS but I use OBDEleven first as it’s easy and on my phone. I’ve only just got VCP to crack these cameras, was borrowed but I think I’ll keep it. I’ll add VCDS when I can get a cheap one.

Managed to sort it out thanks!

Coding and adaptation for the next mod is now sorted, can you tell what it is yet?

Almost but not quite. CANTON centre speaker is coming as the pins are now active for that but will probably use the SEAT SOUND/Audi Sound System subwoofer without amp for easy fitting and a bit of boost. Just waiting on parts now.

:) must be getting a bit like Trigger's Broom at this point Sasha :) Is it the same car at all anymore 😄

Keep up the good work, always interesting to read this thread.

Hi Sasha.

Which variant of the OBDEleven would you recommend? Or perhaps more importantly, is there a variant of the OBDeleven that is not worth bothering with?

You want the next gen Pro version for the most utility.

I don't suppose you know where the link to all thr mods are for the obd eleven? I saw something ages ago  but can't find it now.

Look at the top of this forum. VCDS mods can be done through OBD eleven.

@EnterName Don't know if they got the descriptions and images mixed up on Amazon but you can buy the Pro pack for £86 on their official site. The Ultimate Pack is £120 on their site while the Pro pack is £120 on that Amazon pic you posted.

https://obdeleven.com/en/products-page

IMO the Ultimate pack isn't worth it, it comes with extra credits (which you can earn anyway by opening the app) and a carry case. Not worth the extra cost.

I’m kinda struggling to see where the second gen models have an advantage over the first gen (which is what I have and have had for a number of years now).

Thanks for that @lway, I'll check out the official OBDeleven site. 👍

Aren't 2nd gen compatible with IOS?

@SashaGrace
As I have the same wireless Carplay mode as you, have had any problems with autoplay?
Some times it connects and the trace plays exactly from where it starts, another time connects but then play 1 second before pausing.

Firmware is the latest as per the methodology. Not the end of the world but is it a bug or a 'feature'...

Yes. When I bought the next gen version, they hadn’t sorted out the IOS app other than to use the OBDEleven mini apps. Since then the main app got updated and you can now do adaptations and long coding on IOS.

Yes and no. Interior and electrical has changed a whole lot, the only thing inside that you touch that hasn’t been changed is the headlight switch haha, everything else has been changed!

If you are on Android it doesn’t really matter but the next gen dongle will likely be updated for longer. If you are on iOS you need the new one. I have it and I love it. You need the PRO pack to do long coding but that’s just a software download.

Mine hasn’t done this, there is a bit of latency but otherwise it’s been flawless.

Spent the day trying to beat the heat and straightened the sagging right side skirt, which will never be perfect as the jack point is caved in but it’s much better now and cut the mudflaps to put back on with them. Should cut down on the spray up the sides. When it cools down again it needs a wash, but for now I’m much happier.
