Well I need help again, when I factory reset my device, I also lost the app for apple play and Android auto.

Wagster, could you provide me with the APK?

Even better, can you provide me with all the side apps?

Installed agama today and I noticed that for whatever reason, the volume control of agama changes the system volume and not the general volume.

  • The job is never finished until you leave DNA behind!

  • Small update as have now gone back in and put a generic external microphone in place. I opted not to put it behind the trim where factory one is as it's blanked off on driver side and didn't think it

  • That screen to map out the steering controls is identical to that on mine.   If you did want to add DAB to it by the way then I can highly recommend the rear amplifier and splitter option.

I will see what I can find and upload it but as I never tried the Zlink app to use Apple play or android auto I have no idea if it was working or not.

Thank, I didn't have a chance to try it either

So after a lot of discussion and a littl refund, they finally made a custom cable for the usb that they are sending me to test.

Seeing how it is built, it should work.

I wil add some heatshrink at the base when i recieve it to secure the cables.

I couldn't find the one from mine but did manage to find 2 versions. Try them out and see if one of them works.

My quadlock assembly arrived yesterday so spent today wiring in the power supply for the USB and all works so now have use of the factory USB port :)

Also wired in the factory microphone which does work but doesn't seem to work as well as the inbuilt microphone on the head unit according to my son who had to endure me phoning him over and over to check which was better so going to leave factory microphone disconnected.

Also fitted the double Fakra to FM aerial lead but hasn't really made much of a a difference to the FM reception.

Wow good news.

Have you tried android auto from the usb port?

I tried the APK of tlink you sent me and it works.

For the factory mic, have you tried increasing the gain in the settings?

Your son is patient, my girlfriend won't pick up after the second call lol and my son is 7 so I guess the same thing...

Too bad for the FM. I really think the tuner is so so because on my friends 9 inch Android 11 the same stations have better reception.

Haven't installed tlink yet so no idea if it works. Which version did you install out of the 2 versions I uploaded? Also did you activate it before you did the factory reset and does it work wirelessly for you as well?

I did have play around with the gain settings but it didn't improve enough to decide to use the factory mic, I might take another look at it sometime in the future though.

I only tried the FM whilst driving round town this afternoon so will see if it is any better on a longer drive with less poor spots.

I installed the 1.77. it only works wired for Android auto.

To activate it, you only need to have an internet connection and it activates automatically.

The wireless is for Apple carplay. For Android wireless auto it seems it only works with zlink and headunit reloaded.

Indeed, I just tried and it connected wirelessly, activated WiFi automatically.

For the radio tuner, I went with the free version of navradio, it is so much better the the Factory one.

Same to you.

HNY folks! I was thinking about going Android from mib1 (2014 VRS) but after reading the last 7/8 pages I'm having second thoughts 😂. I take it there are always some settings needing corrected but this sounds like too much work for me! (Technical ability rather than laziness😉)

Just watch the installation video linked in the thread a few times. If you think you can handle that, that's about all there is too it. The rest is just us playing about beyond the standard plug n play setup.

Yes it is quite plug and play, except for the factory usb. Once I test and validate the custom câble the seller made for me then you can just ask for the same.

The reste is really just getting the settings right. Read the whole topic, you will get many answers.

Every one here is really helpful so you won't be left alone

Something else, I don't remember where I saw the menu for the mic gain settings. If anyone remembers it would be great.

I Also sent a message to the seller.

If I remember correctly without looking,  open up the Bluetooth app with a phone connected and then look in the settings option icon and should give the option to change the gain.

That's good to know, thanks. All I'm looking for is for things to work as they currently do. At least if I have any problems I know where the experts are too👍🏻💪🏻😉.

Any recommendations, thinking at least 4gb/64gb? They all look the same anyway, pretty much..

Most of us have the 4gb/64gb here so I can't pronounce myself for the other models. I have a friends 2gb sitting around. I juste played around quickly with it to see if it was working and extract some APK. I didn't notice much difference, maybe a little slower. I must wait for him to use it a little longer to have a straight opinion.

Also I think only the 4gb model supports wireless Android auto and carplay, the others is wired.

Others here also have the 2gb maybe they can give their impressions.

The rest will work mostly the same. The only thing I noticed on mine is that the car settings menu is not pretty (but you go there juste once) and my ac mode setting doesn't work ,but I can set it the car settings menu (again you just go there once)

Then if your bluetooth is activated, deactivate it with the stock infotainment before removing it.

That's all, the reste is just how your taylor it.

Magic, many thanks. Probably go 4gb/64gb then. I think I saw some with wired Android auto so I will check this first.
