  • Personally, not really in the spirit of the forum to be selling the update file.  Also, with no documentation, or indeed any reference to this update on the web, I would not install it at this point.

  • Just for clarification, in the past I supplied a lot of files for free. The costs that I made then we're not high and I could cover it with other works   However since last year the costs fo

  • I have now sourced the 1985 update package and installed successfully.  Everything seems fine but got a long journey tomorrow which will confirm its stability.  I’ll happily share it FOC over the week

And as I say that this afternoon I got a message regarding an OTA update of 164x Mb and that it would download in the background blah blah blah..

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for it to download.

So both 2023 and 2024 models have received 1985 OTA now. I'm on 1969 on a 2022, but nothing yet.

Since I have updated to 1985, dashboard unit keeps throwing up a communication error (when checked with OBDEleven). It does not seem to affect function but is nonetheless annoying. I tried clearing the error but it just came right back.

I cleared all errors before updating the firmware, so I presume it is not a hardware issue. Does any one know what this error mean and whether it can be cleared permanently?

Does your navigation, voice control, compass in VR,.. works?

This error happened to me when upgrading from 1941 to 1969 (MR 2020). Columbus functions suddenly stops working after update.

I have to go to the local Skoda dealer and they have to add some PIN codes to unlock the Columbus unit.

Navigation and voice control work normally.

What is compass in VR?

The small compass that can be visualized in one of the clusters in Virtual Cockpit. But if navigation and voice control works for you, the problem is probably somewhere else. 😕

I had an OTA update, and then it said there was an application update too. After that was installed I have a new onboard Manual, which is vastly better than the old one!

Just to close the loop: problem went away by itself after driving for two days, so all is well now.

I apologise, I did not explain myself well... they are no longer as wide as the screen... they now have two vertical black bands on the sides.

I think I've found a bug... android auto/carplay are only smaller when you are logged in with your skoda account, if you log in as a guest they go back to full screen... crazy! Can anyone try to certify my thesis?

It's not a bug when AA is set as a widget than the window is smaller delete the AA widget and AA is on the complete screenScreenshot_20241031_173128_Chrome.thumb.jpg.04d828e78f21446632a44690adbccd0e.jpg

No no.... widgets have nothing to do with it. it is just the size of aa/carplay that changes whether I am logged in as a guest or with my user

Hi, is there a way to have the icons back on the left side of the screen instead of the bottom? They took away a lot of room from the app windows.

No, not a bug.

I had this a few days ago. In AA, open settings and there's a setting of something like "widget" or "preview" (I can remember exactly). Switch that off.

if it were as you say it would always do so, not only when I am logged in with my user skoda....
also because I have the same behaviour with carplay

Ah ok never tested with guest account

Hi to all.

I have a MY2024 Octavia (delivered on Nov 2023), and it came with 1940 SW version. During the past year I received few minor updates, but the SW version was always at 1940.

Few days ago as I pulled off to a self-servicing car wash, I got the info about SW 1985 OTA update. While I was washing the car the SW update went on and after cca 15-20 minutes it had finished successfully.

MY 2024, non FL.

@386ka I'm interested in figuring out this model year vs calendar year thing. Could you tell me, what is the 10th letter of your VIN?  The car I am waiting for and which was advertised as a 2024 car has an "R", but then characters 12-15 read "2023", so I am not quite sure what to believe.

My 2021 car has been in for work at Skoda today, they told me when I booked it in this morning that it was showing as needing an over the air update. Nothing was completed by them as it's down as OTA which the customer can do but still showing no update when I've picked the car up this evening. May suggest the update is coming to older cars soon but who knows.

The 10th letter is indeed "R". It was manufactured and delivered in January 2024. Your VIN ending in "2023" is just a coincidence.

This Wikipedia article describes the format of a VIN

This Skoda article states that P is model year 2023 and that they skip Q, from which I deduce that R represents model year 2024. What is not entirely clear is whether FL models would be model year 2025 and have an "S" - perhaps someone with an FL can chip in?

Has anyone of you experienced problems with CarPlay since the update to 1985? For me, the album cover of the current song is no longer displayed in the cockpit, and I can no longer answer calls directly via the steering wheel. I have already unpaired and re-paired the iPhone with the Octavia, but it doesn't change anything.

I have absolutely the same problem and I've no idea how to fix it. I don't remember if the album cover was showing in the cockpit on 1969 fw but It was stating the names of whatever was playing via CarPlay and was switching instantly when the next audio started. The album cover now stucks for whatever audio it decides and after changing the songs from spotify it does not change. Also the song's name does not change for a long period (10-15 seconds) even though it plays properly (talking about the instrumental panel).  When switching through the radiostations I get the name and logos in the instrumental panel but not if the audio is coming from Carplay.
I don't get the callers name in the cockpit as well - only on the main display, hence I cannot pickup through the steering wheel.

I had 2 occasions when everything was working properly but the rest is the above mentioned.

Did a factory reset and everything - same.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
