Advice on new (to me) 25-plate Scala SE 116 TSI
@Aldfort Thanks for the reply. I've had the aircon on a lot recently, I guess that may be part of the problem, although I haven't noticed that the aircon is speeding up - i.e. demanding more power - before the engine restarts. @rum4mo Yes, if the engine has auto-stopped it starts OK when I depress the clutch (and move the steering wheel? Maybe that was just coincidence...) but it will also re-start seemingly at random without me doing anything, usually after a few seconds. In fact, the last few journeys, the engine has never stopped at all at traffic lights / junctions. The 6th gear display issue was weird. It has only happened once, but I've only done one motorway journey. I'll see if anyone else has any ideas, but at the moment I'm inclined to use the car for another week or so to see how things go before taking it back to the dealer. I don't want to be taking it back every five minutes when something odd happens; I'd rather find all the issues and then get them all sorted. regards, Andrew

Same thoughts as above, I’m guessing that you mean if you press the clutch pedal down while stationary and the engine has auto stopped. The suggested gear playing up is wrong.

Slugish up slight incline
@Hobron What had you done to solve the issue, and was it a lack of go issue? Where there fault codes when you had an issue, where there mis-fires? Was the fuel OK, the fuel filter OK and where the Spark Plugs, Coils , cables? Was that what you replaced to solve things? How many miles has the car done?

Fuel Tank Cap Replacement Seal
I noticed this being mentioned as now being part of the MOT checks in my usual car mag a few months ago, so checked wife’s 2015 Polo before handing it in - still acceptable so I might replace it soon.

Still diluting oil!!!!!!!
It's one of the annoyances with most automotive forums. When someone posts a problem for help but then never returns to say what the solution was.

Would love to know if there's a way to tell if it's been fiddled with or if a remap has been done. I've got the same issue...

Skoda Finance Redemption
I’d check the exact finance offer rather than assume the old Karoq deal still works the same way. Škoda/VWFS still allows early settlement, and you can request an up-to-date settlement figure through the finance account. The important bit is the wording of the current offer: if the £700 (or whatever the current contribution is) is conditional on taking the finance, check the terms to make sure there isn't a minimum period or other condition attached. Current Škoda offers still include finance-linked contributions and service incentives, so the basic idea hasn't disappeared. I'd get the dealer to give you the full finance agreement and settlement figure before signing, then compare the total cost against simply paying cash. If the contribution is genuinely greater than the small amount of interest/fees incurred before settlement, it can still be worthwhile—but I'd want that confirmed in writing rather than relying on how the 2018 deal worked.

I can help with a couple. Lots of things cause the engine to restart on it's own if stop start is active. This can include the AC demanding cool air. The radio mode might be set to local to automatically change to a local station when in range. There is a margin on the speed warning system. after the first ping then you don't get reminder pings unless you are more than 2-3 mph over the posted limit. The other stuff will need a trip to the dealer.

Boot liner 2026 Kodiaq (5 & 7 Seat convertible)
I bought a BootBuddy for my 19 pate Octavia Vrs Challenge estate, now using it in my 23 plate Kodiaq Vrs, it's got a rigid plastic base, sides and back, can be bought as an extending version that can reach to rear of front seats when rear seats are folded, contains all the dog hair. I always have dogs in a cage.

Fuel Tank Cap Replacement Seal
I think just on a visual check. hadn't triggered any fault codes, yet. It dosen't look that bad at the moment, you can so scuffing type marks and maybe some faint cracks forming. Didn't fail an MOT because of it, just an advisory to act on immediately.

Fuel Tank Cap Replacement Seal
Thanks for that, a great help. I might give them a call and see what they have in stock and price. They quoted me £65 to fit a new seal!!! I said I'd do it myself.... I've seen them for £6 online. Got aircon back though, for now.... It had a full service / MOT / aircon service and an attempt to fix the passenger window where it doesn't open fully. They replaced the regulator some months back. They couldn't fix that in the time available after faffing about with it. They said they could control it fully using the OBD port, but just went back to playing up when using the buttons.

Brake pads installed wrong in the past?
Yes I wonder if they were bedded in one side then swapped around if that could cause vibration. Now at 160 miles on the new pads and discs and all good so far!

Tire pressure value can not be seen on central infotainment display
The Sensors can be a PITA. I had a new sensor fitted front passenger side yesterday before a MOT. It was already showing before i broke the valve as being on the drivers side from the last fitting of All Season tyres as the fitter put wheels to the wrong side. Anyway the MOT tester who fitted the New Sensor pre-mot coded all 4 sensors. Supposedly. After the MOT and a pass he took the car for a road test. When i left the place the Drivers Side was showing 2.4 Bar & 36*oC and the other 3 wheels / tyres 2.2 Bar and 24*oC. I carried on a few miles & thought the new sensor on the Passenger Front would re-set. But no. I stopped off and let them know, but it was closing time for them. So once i have time it will be going back to get coded properly................. Re Setting low pressures. On my BMW you go on the cars screen to the Tyre Size on the Car and Summer or Winter tyres and it recommends the Tyre Pressure range. Then it asks if you want to set to a pressure different from the recommended range. If you do you accept then Set the TPMS as you have inflated the tyres.

Brake pads installed wrong in the past?
I think a lot of people don’t realise the crescent moon goes piston side It’s there mostly for anti squeal but I bet it can contribute to a little vibration tbh Your previous pads may not have been bedded in correctly too, so be gentle for about 150miles
