  4. Title: Škoda Approved Used – should outstanding scheduled maintenance have been completed before sale? I'd appreciate some opinions from experienced Škoda owners, particularly anyone familiar with the Approved Used programme. I've recently purchased a 2019 Octavia vRS Challenge DSG from an authorised Škoda dealership in North Wales. The car had covered approximately 41,500 miles and cost £19,250. It was sold through the Škoda Approved Used programme and came with a 12-month Škoda Approved Used warranty. I was provided with the vehicle's service history printout. The first three years were serviced through Škoda, followed by a period where the car was serviced by an independent garage, and then a more recent service. The dealership also gave me an A4 preparation sheet listing various items they had attended to before collection. However, shortly after purchasing the car, I contacted my local Škoda dealership in Worthing and asked them to check the vehicle's maintenance requirements using its registration number. Their system identified three outstanding items: Engine air filter – £55 Spark plugs – £140 Front differential oil service – £199 Total: £394. These were identified as due according to the vehicle-specific maintenance information in Škoda's system. I also have an issue with the Start/Stop system, which isn't functioning and hasn't done since I bought it. I've contacted the selling dealership to ask whether they would contribute towards the outstanding maintenance. Their response so far is that the service history documentation was discussed before purchase and that they cannot contribute towards additional work. My question is: When buying a vehicle through the Škoda Approved Used programme, would you reasonably expect the dealer to have checked the manufacturer's service schedule and completed any outstanding scheduled maintenance before handing the car over? I appreciate that it's a used car and that not every service item necessarily needs replacing before sale. However, I thought part of the reassurance of buying Approved Used was that the vehicle would be properly prepared and its maintenance brought up to date. Has anyone had a similar experience with Škoda Approved Used or another manufacturer's approved used scheme? I'd particularly welcome opinions from anyone who has worked in a Škoda dealership or is familiar with the Approved Used inspection process. I'm trying to establish whether my expectations are reasonable and whether it's worth pursuing this further with the selling dealership. Thanks in advance.
  5. Dealers can supply it I just got a 6 page full PDF of my build
  6. Looking at a facelift S3 next weekend. Fingers crossed
  7. Just looked the numbers up, both valid for S3, also shows those numbers as left hand drive versions. If you swap your modules over, it shouldnt need coding, but will deffo need alignment with workshop equipment. Not tried out my Beissbarth MLD 9000 on matrix lights yet,(bought cheap for retrofit of LED lights on T6 Vans) may get a chance if I buy the car I'm looking at next weekend. I can't find anything published why they wont fit on ETKA, PR numbers are the same for both. Always a bit of a gamble not using the same numbers, both numbers are valid so one may be a high and one a low version.
  8. No warranty! Doesn’t even need to be powered tailgate. If you find the central locking motor in the rear lid. Thick purple wire for positive feed circled in red. Edit: actually this might not be constant positive. It would need checking with multimeter. It may only energise when locking/unlocking. Thin grey / blue wire (circled in brown) gives switched earth that will energise when boot open. This is how the standard trunk lights (w18 and w35 on the diagram) are switched in the hatch so should be no issue. And the draw from the positive shouldn’t be an issue I don’t think. You can splice in the wire anywhere or make y connection at the plug. I think these are the right plugs: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EwDOgHg You would just need to cut a rectangular hole in the plastic in a strategic position to install the lights.

  10. Hi guys I have the same problem with my MK3 Octavia 1.8tsi , the error just started few months ago so I thought it was a faulty sensor , which does not show up on a obd scan Thinking it was a faulty sensor I went ahead and got that changed by cross referencing the part number from the old sensor 03C 907 660 M 6PR 009629-05 I bought the part from TPS but I did not get the exact part number on the sensor , cause apparently they changed the part number 06K 907 637 B , fitted It to my car and it didn't make any difference so i thought maybe because the part numbers are different that it failed to rectify, then I ended up on this Czech website called Skoda parts and looked for a sensor with the engine,model... and so on it said that a Hella part would be the right one so I ordered that without doing any research because it had the part number from my old sensor along with another number 03C 907 660 T 03C 907 660 M Now I've fitted the sensor today while doing an oil change and the problem is still there , what do I do ?

  12. if you search for "stalling" in this "Skoda Octavia Mk4" forum, there are other users of the 1.5 Tsi manual who have also experienced this same problem when slowing down..... It is also worth looking at other model forums that use this engine such as the Kamiq and also where it's used on the VW platform
  13. @RogueWagon ThanQ , I thought I’d risk going by the label which looks great for the price, but was then told that there’s no real regulation and each band (A to E) could be vague between one manufacturer and another

  15. @Binx1310 ThanQ .. yep I’ve got powered tailgate, and just ordered another set of the led lights I fitted into the boot last time,
  16. Run these tyres on my Porsche wheels They handle really good in wet and dry!
  17. Ambient Lighting Hi all, I've just bought my first karoq (a 2020 sportline) and noticed the ambient lighting strip on the front passenger door isn't working. Have checked settings and it's on max brightness. Wondered if anyone has had this problem and could suggest a fix. Thanks
  18. Well a couple of weeks ago I had 4 new tyres fitted as when I bought the car all 4 were different types, I just got some unknown ones from National Express,, I’ve bought Cabin, fuel, Air & Oil filters, still got enough oil for this service, and I just received a new DSG gearshift trim (the chrome was peeling of the original) and while on eBay I “accidentally” bought a replacement boot light, that the seller showed the sticker and was the F version ( £30+ p&p) I’m blaming you lot …
  19. If you have a powered tailgate there will be a constant power to the latch motor and there may well be a switched earth from the catch. If not will be vice versa. Should be achievable without running new wires out to the tailgate. I’ll have a look at the wiring diagram later.

  21. I wish the hatchback had lights in the tailgate like yours … thinking of fitting something similar but need to work out how to switch them
  22. Complete new headlight. ( not just a bulb change ) Did wonder if the motor was wrong level so with new headlight unplugged I lowered the other headlight on the dash control switched off then plugged in new headlight again hoping that when I restored the level. control the beam would rise but to my surprise the motor operated and lowered the beam to match the other headlight , so a new headlight goes to the same level as set on dash

  24. Took my car to my detailer Just for an inside clean He ended up washing the outside of the car for me as well So we can see how much bodywork it needs And also cleaned the engine bay as well done for free to Nice base for me to keep on top of it 👌 And know what needs doing going forward
  25. A true honest beast of a bygone era. I had to take the decision to part with the 78 as I failed to materialize my plans to travel around .... but I really liked it. Also very accommodating to work on ... everything straightforward. You might not need, but I do have workshop manuals and such (electronic), I can share if you want ☺️
  26. Have a 2012 estate and today reversing sensor gave long continuous beep. Next time on the screen its jumping all over the place mainly middle to right hand side. I assume one or more sensors have failed or perhaps wiring. Whats the easiest way of removing and checking them plus is there a way of finding out which one or more thats causing the problem. They are the type that sit flush in bumper and are colour coded to match. Had a quick look but it doesnt seem that easy to get to them without removing bumper. I dont have vcds etc but is there a way of disabling them until I get it sorted or perhaps do without. Alasdair
  27. Replaced top two boot lights, can now see everything yay Went with these https://a.aliexpress.com/_EwTWKJ0 which @ile7 said about the other day
  28. could be water in underfelt. Check your coolant level in case its coming from heater matrix. Also check around spare wheel. Had water in there due to a grommet being missing. Alasdair
  29. A repair-shop visit needed or a friend of yours may have a VCDS in his laptop or even an OBD11 which works with a smartphone. Even if you perform an ECU-reset by yourself if there is an error it will show-up again soon, it must be erased. The coolant sensor is ''OK'' if you measure his contacts, from outside may look good but maybe it isn't. Check the hose connection in the fuel pressure regulator and in the intake manifold. The throttle body must be calibrated and do some Kilometres in normal driving so the ECU ''will learn'' your driving style, a scan tool is absolutely necessary in that case. I have changed mine plus 2 ECU units and also i had a vacuum leak in the past.
  30. And the aim moves at the same time? These bulbs are not easy to fit in my experience. They need a twist to completely locate in the correct position. Perhaps check this and compare to the other side. You can't see the bulb from the front which can help with this. I use a mirror from the back of the housing to check. Bulb goes up then beam reflects down? Thanks. AG Falco
