Being an ex mechanic but not of greatest of health I bought my kamiq with a two year warrenty at 7000miles and 14 month old I changed the oil when I bought it because it was obvious it hadn't been changed I got the "free" service this year in July at 12000 miles the oil was changed but the service advisor said your brake fluid needs changing, I declined after showing the brake fluid tester showed 0 percent water the brake pads and disks were reported as needing changing, again absolute rubbish as disks where nor worn and pads less than 1 quarter worn front and rear the cabin filter had not been changed original build date on the filter when I replaced it myself It's a shame because I hoped the dealer would be good to use All I can advise is check as much as you can, especially when parts have dates on them and question everything

You seem to have gone through more bottom arms than anyone i know 😳 Glad to hear you are getting somewhere with it. I'm keeping an eye on my rear links being Whiteline and my fronts failed prematurely but so far they are holding up. Time will tell. Will replace my front rotors too next year thinking going Clubsport S discs unless i find something else😁 Next year I'll be getting the timing chain replaced with all the tensioners as well as new uprated water pump and thermostat housing. For now i need to save some cash as this year i spent far too much going stage 2 and installing Brembo 4 pots on front 😎 My subframes are still oem, no plans to replace them anytime soon 🙃unless car decides otherwise 😀

Well moral as in whether you want to get rid of it or not and live with it. It was never an issue about emissions as it would still pass without it. Interesting read on MOT regs changes. Certainly looks to ramp up the MOT requirements and enforcement.

The barrels in the vans were empty, and it would seem that they were attempting to steal diesel from farmers' fuel tanks and sell it because of the high London prices for diesel.

The 2.34 tonnes if the Gross Vehicle Weight ie max weight allowed on the road and this is what the licence reading cameras work on to catch those who should be paying the extra parking charges in these cities applying these rules. My Scenic is roughly 1.75 tonnes sat by the kerb with washer fluid etc and can take almost 600 kgs of people and cargo and be legal classed as below the 2.4 tonne limit as it GVW as recorded on the V5 and DVLA as sub 2400 Kgs. Skoda bigger cars can be as low as 1560 Kgs kerb but also as high as about 1850 KGs kerb ie diesel, 4x4 and all the toys and the GVW nearly 2.4T, or close to 2.5 tonnes, which would seem to indicate that the payload, passengers and luggage allowed might be only about 500 Kgs which either sounds wrong or very poor as it is not difficult to hit 500 kgs with passengers and say luggage for a holiday. Check yours as the diesels look to have less headroom and you would not want a ticket for overloaded. Spent many a day on multi disciplinary exercises with the police, two departments of Dept of Transport, DWP and us as HMRC intercepting Bootleggers of Alcohol and getting them on overweight q was one of our best tools, as well as me seizing the cargo and the vehicle of course ! So cars have surprisingly small differences between their kerb weight and GVW. To me it should be at least a good 600 kgs in a C or D segment car but some are a bit less than that and the owner dies not realise it and is sometimes driving over the manufacturers weight limits and therefore illegally.

Is it just moral? Potential new regulations on mot in 2027. Unless that’s just diesels. Recently discovered mine hasn’t done a regen in 50,000 miles or so. That might get interesting.

1 - not 4x4, but the 280 is the only one (it’s not the only 4x4 as there is a diesel one). 2 - do you mean can you cut the tailpipes off the 280 exhaust and fit it to a 220? Ummm no. The 220 will be a FWD variant of the ea888 design which routes differently because of the haldex. There will be better things to do. Well if your EV Scenic weighs in at 2340 Kgs, then it is heavy, my owners manual shows my Kodiaq, 4x4 TDI 110Kw Edition 5 seat and it has a large Ad Blu tank fitted, and comes in at just 1762 Kgs, 582 Kgs lighter . It is also 227 mm longer as well.

Whereas I like Martini’s option of subtly changing the tailpipes despite keeping the exhaust standard. Like this badboy

If you are paying Monthly, it would be reasonable for them to ask for any money needed to make up the difference between how much had been paid and the service costs received.

@JR RS has done a brilliant guide. Make sure you have a good battery charger connected as a failed battery during this process can be catastrophic.
