  5. Yes, this is still confusing me. I would expect some residual oil if it "drained away". Normally oil is difficult to disperse, but this sensor was totally dry. It led me to think it isn't operated directly by oil at all, but by a plunger inside the head. I've thought some more about this since my last post, and I think it's worth doing as above suggestion, i.e. unscrewing it and running the engine - at the weekend, I'm busy working until then ... Luckily I can use a different car.
  6. Today
  7. Normaly No Key.. https://mega.nz/file/A3kVnRrb#5USQHMiRRmq3dhy1cjEvacw4y6GoXxRMGnsVhhOIhAw
  8. Fair one. Such a shame when someone’s incompetence causes so much hassle!
  9. 3.4 GB file on MEGANo warrenty
  10. No time, no inclination. I need a car to do my job, so i need to buy a replacement to keep me mobile.
  11. Last speaker swapped out this evening. I thought I was doing it preventatively but one tap from the hammer on the punch to knock out the centre of a pop rivet and the magnet fell off the speaker! Hopefully these will last a good while now but I have a spare just in case and have got it to less than 30 minutes to swap them out. Even in the dark with a head torch!

  13. Not worth writing off and buying back to repair?
  14. Tell replied to RodDuggan's topic in Skoda Karoq
That's saying 26.10 so you have an update ahead of the file one so it won't degrade. That's an over the air one.
  15. Probably... Trouble is insurance will have worked on new parts and you'd be looking at about half that just for the bonnet... It's a rip off if you can't choose where it gets repaired and how and I'm sure they prefer to write them off as it's cheaper for them. Means decent cars get written off for small amounts of damage.
  16. The first step is to get the 0334 update for the infotainment which then allows the other applications to update successfully... You can wait for the OTA to be offered with you but it seems this can take a long time and there's no way to force it. You can ask the dealer to start the update for you but it's probably not free unless your car is still in warranty. Or you can follow the instructions from PeterTr above to do the update manually yourself. Gabbo
  17. Everything other than the village names works OK. Using the same map data on the same Skoda SD card shows the villages on a similar unit in a friends Golf but not in my Octavia. On that basis there must be a difference between the two Amundsen units, and the firmware might be the difference? I don't think the firmware on my unit has ever been updated, so I think it is worth trying an update from version P0241T to P0253T. Can anyone help me in obtaining the files for the update?

  19. Hi! As the warning lights on your 2019 Škoda Kodiaq 2.0 TDI come on as soon as you start the engine, before the car moves, I would consider a wheel-speed sensor failure to be less likely. I would start by checking the battery, as a weak 12 V battery or a voltage drop when starting could generate similar errors. Could you check the battery voltage? It should be at least 12 V; when the engine is running, it should reach up to 14.5 V depending on the state of the battery and the smart charging system. WBR Primoz
  20. If you don't have this kind of tool. You can proceed this way: 1. Set ignition ON (without starting the engine) for 10s. 2. Set ignition Off for 15s 3. Repeat 1 & 2 4 or 5 times 4. Start the engine (if it stalls, start again from the beginning) 5. Rev the engine around 1500 rpm for 30s to get rid of potential air bubbles in the fuel system I've done this about 10 times on several TDI engines over last 20 years. Never had any problem.
  21. Thanks, but in not after a leggy car, looking at les than 40k miles 😀 Insurers rarely use second hand spares, must quote on new parts.
  22. Thank you, I've done it for a few years now. I don't get the actual money back (~£1500) but it changes my tax code upwards. Not as good as getting 55p/ mile expenses......
  23. Hi @zer081, We're not talking about the same SW version. See the explanations above to check the infotainment SW version. ;)
  24. There’s a few iV L&k on Autotrader currently for less than your payout. E.g https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202610207160878?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios-app
  25. If your company pays you less than the maximum permissible HMRC figure, you can claim for tax relief on the rest. Just need logs and can claim up to 4 years in the past. https://www.gov.uk/tax-relief-for-employees/vehicles-you-use-for-work
  26. sorry forgot to update, i managed to get a set of 4x genuine vag ones at a good price, and thankfully the mechanic at the garage i use got all 4x glow plugs out and replaced them with no problems. thanks kev!
