  2. Tescos had contaminated fuel a fuel years back. Silicone contamination. Quite a few people got compensation for engine damage. £8M paid out. Thurrock plant contamination.
  3. Could be worth asking Skoda if they will contribute to the cost via a goodwill gesture as the part hasn't lasted as long as it should have? Do you have a main dealer service history?
  4. I think you missed the point of my comment, I was saying that you don't get sidetracked talking to other drivers when doing a splash and dash or even a full refuel with liquid fossil fuel because you have to be there, squeezing the trigger for the fuel to flow to your tank, unlike an EV. Of course, rain, snow, etc is going to have just as much impact on the rolling resistance of an ICE car as it does on an EV; that's pure physics.

  6. Hi Andy, Audio Tech Direct have a comprehensive list of aftermarket Head Units for Skoda Cars. hope tthis helps.https://audiotechdirect.com/oem-style-units/skoda/
  7. @lol-lol The Superb they used was a standard one and the only things modded were the fitment of low rolling resistance tyres, which many owners do as well. The only other thing they did was lower the suspension by 15mm to match that of the Greenline version. All Superbs have a smooth underfloor, unless someone has not replaced the various undertrays after doing a service on the car? The fuel tank holds 66 litres because it is a bigger car than the B and C-segment cars you mentioned; the Superb is D-segment and so has a heavier weight and has a larger wind resistance to overcome. An Octavia is a C-segment car and has a 50-litre tank, but their WLTP ranges are broadly similar, so the extra 16 litres did not give it any advantage in range. As to the fuel being chilled to allow more fuel to be stored in the tank, as far GWR is concerned, that is not allowed. What was that about Tesco fuel destroying ICE engines with water and other debris in their fuel, and yet you use it for your 5p and 8p-a-litre discount vouchers, which you use up? 🤨
  8. Unfortunately not, I'd already checked there. We do have a couple of non-Skoda ones in the boot though.
  9. Thx for the reply. You didn't find the eibach pro kit too firm for daily driving? Also i thought that for optimum performance you should use b8 shocks with the pro kit because the oe-spec shocks would wear out faster, thus the use of shorter shocks like the b8's.
  10. Crank sensor on the 1.4/16v is on the back of the block, low down, pointing in towards flywheel area. The sensor has a captive cable, I think, with a plug/socket somewhere higher up, in the area of the top of the dipstick tube, from memory. Check spark plug for cylinder 3 first, and if that's OK, change the pencil coil if it has individual coils on each plug, which I think will be the case on a 2003 1.4/16v.
  11. Just wondered if anyone could recommend an aftermarket space saver spare wheel and tyre for a 2025 Mk4 Fabia Design edition. Thanks in advance.

  13. Just as an update as I said I would. Drove the car this morning in the dark - right side of the motorway was kept in the dark, trees on the left were lit up. So mine all looks fine to me. 2021 L&K with Full LED Matric etc
  14. @TSIspirit Is there a sticker in the spare tyre well to show that Service Campaign / Recall Action was ever done since May 2014. '34F7' DSG oil changed from Synthetic to Mineral and a Soft Ware Update?
  15. Hi, yes sorry...cylinder 3. It went into limp mode and the codes were P0322 cylinder 3 misfire, P0343 Camshaft position sensor and P0322 Crankshaft Position Sensor/Engine Speed sensor no signal. Its a 1.4 16v
  16. Hi all, I'm wanting some advice on upgrading my existing Skoda stereo for a 9 inch android after market device, but there are some many to choose from I have no idea what fits my car. I have previously got a replacement unit and although the website says it's fits my car, there is no way in hell it will go in the hole. My current stereo is the swing and I'm wanting a unit that will fit flush with the dash not floating. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Andy

  20. Hi! I'd also like to update my software, since Google Maps recently started refusing to run on my infotainment after some under-the-hood update of google play services. Here my info: Device: 5Q0035840B HW: H30 SW: [This one is blank, I wonder how old it is...] Media Codec: 3141.0.0.1 If anyone could PM me I'd be very grateful, thanks!
  21. You'll need to tell us which type of engine your Fabia has, there are several options. No idea what 'bank 3' might mean unless it's something referring to cylinder 3? Guessing it might be one of the 3-cylinder 1.2L variants? Does it start and run, or not?
  22. Hi, Not much to say, but I do enjoy my Fabia, so nice to meet you all!

  25. So, for the first time in my retrofit history, I'm abandoning an idea... O3 mirrors manufactured by Magna Mirror O4 mirrors manufactured by SMR The design of the folding mechanism is fundamentally different. Therefore, modifying the brackets would only be possible by cutting and welding aluminum. I'm now using OEM O3 mirrors with integrated blind spot LEDs in the glass. The right one is already here: dimming, automatic dimming, blind spot indicator with glass! Complete side mirrors for €100!!!! Including shipping 😁 I just need the glass for the left one, or maybe I'll find another bargain.
  26. Hi, trying to get my car back up and running before MOT next week and having trouble locating the crankshaft position sensor. I had 3 fault codes, leading to cam position sensor (now replaced), bank 3 and crankshaft position sensor. But I cannot pin down exactly which one is the correct sensor. Appreciate any help. Have attached a pic of what I 'thought' it was but now think thats a knock sensor.
  27. Hello, from Switzerland. 2016 Skoda Superb which we have had for about 2 yours now. Now, on to the forums. D

  31. Thanks everyone. I will keep it, but the change will come at some point. My only fear is that now I can get some money for it, but after a while, I doubt that I would be able to, and will have to fork out the full new car price. This is my point of change.
  32. Oh please, oh please let it be a ….. 🤞
  33. Hello guys ! Does anyone knows how can you reset oil change and service inspection message for skoda scala 2024 essence, without buttons on the steering wheel? As i understand, even with the OBDeleven device, after year 2024 its not possible, because VAG just blocked everything. So i assume, only option is official dealer?
  34. Deffo not gonna use gates kit, looked closer at the tensioner today and it was cracked on the shaft
