  2. @Evolution13 the thought behind the post is that just maybe, some of these problems would be prevented if the cars were sent for servicing at regular intervals. Surely cooling of the battery and motor is one of the critical aspects on a EV. There must be some evidence in the cooling system etc of issues like that in the video.
  3. @Graham Butcher what do you think that makes that video anything to do with servicing? It is a design, manufacturing or material fault. Servicing of an EV motor is not going to involve opening a motor like that. There is servicing of parts as with an ICE vehicle. But tell me more than cam belts or changing water pumps has you into an engine in 100,000 km these days?
  4. No worries, hope you get it sorted 👍 Seems to be a VAG issue. I noticed that there’s even a steering lock emulator to get around this problem…but it seems to involve a bit of tinkering and still needs coding to the car.

  6. Oh, IT IS correct IT IS now a FeC, Patch Unit
  7. Everyone who is seeing this problem should report it to the DVSA https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-recalls-and-faults/report-a-serious-safety-defect That way , there's at least a chance that VAG will be forced to admit there's a problem
  8. That’s what I heard too, but 4x4 cars have it! I believe I should coding something more, like simulating the presence of a 4x4 traction, changing parameters of abs, traction control etc. too risky imho
  9. My brand new Enyaq 85 SEL has the same issue the driving data, trip etc will not show on my virtual cockpit. The left and right buttons change the screen layout but the scroll wheel is inactive whether you scroll or press it nothing happens. When I am driving the trip data shows but still the scroll wheel does nothing. Then when I have come to a standstill this data disappears and I am left with a blank screen. I have done a soft reset. This made no difference. I am taking the car back to the dealership in the morning. If they can not fix it then I will expect a replacement vehicle. I did not pay £37600 for a car that doesn’t work

  11. hi i found 5Q1953549F wich was taken from 5Q1953507GF octavia mk4 but is from LHD , automatic gearbox but my car is RHD, manual gearbox can this difference cause errors?thx
  12. And you know this how?
  13. Tell them that knock sensors and the ECU hardware and software that interacts with them react in fractions of a second, so their argument is utter tosh.
  14. Reported to the dealer that it was still stopping on E5 and their reaction is that 350 miles is not enough time/ distance for the engine to relearn and it would need 3-3500 miles. If it relearns and the result of that is the behaviour goes away then what happens when I switch back to E10…… does it relearn again and the behaviour reappears? The price difference is too much to continue to use E5 and the car should run on E10 (as stated in the filler cap) the latest communication reinforces the view that we get rid and move away from Skoda/VAG altogether. Daughter has a manual A3 with an earlier version (68 reg) and it has never done it.

Try Blackrod Service (or MOT) Station. Have used them in the past for MOTs and service/repair work. Have always been fine to deal with.
  17. I'm from Austria... the parts were way too expensive. 5Q0 is rubbish, just upgrade to 2Q0. Much better.
  18. Yes you have to 'withdraw' from the finance agreement within the first 14 days, not cancel it. My interest payment was £9.48 for 3 days. All straightforward enough.

  20. Just to mention that I bought the 5Q0 radars on ebay from Austria which were from a similar Skoda Octavia mk3 2017 and both units cost me 252€. The original used mirrors with dimming from ebay cost me 136€ (one was chipped), the cables I bought from aliexpress for around 50-60€, the radar mounting brackets I bought from skoda-parts.com for 24€/both, also needed to buy a couple of cables, pins and connectors from aliexpress for around 10-20€ max. So everything cost me around 500€
  21. Reckon if its still there its either worn splines or worn cv joint. Get someone to hold shaft and try turning wheel by hand if its still there it would I think rule out Gbox and inner cv. Alasdair
  22. That's an excellent project and thanks for providing so much valuable info, I didn't know the mirrors from mk4 could be installed on the mounting bracket of the mk3! I also love that the LEDs will be integrated in the mirror casing instead of mirror elements since they are incredibly expensive and can easily be stolen I also heard that the 2Q0 radars are better than the 5Q0 ones because their range is bigger. I have just finished installing BSD/RTA myself this week on my Skoda Octavia mk3 1.4 TSI 2017 using the 5Q0 radars and original mirror elements with BSD LEDs and dimming and I am happy how the system works: I will follow your topic @Cairus to see how your work evolves! Good luck!
  23. Or maybe not 🤔
  24. Dont Work anymore What i know Can check with my 3 devices
  25. Thanks, makes sense! Do you know what dataset I need for my unit? I tried to search here https://mibsolution.one/#/1/9/Datasets/MQB/5F by my unit number 5Q0035874C and couldn't find anyting.
  26. Yes
  27. Maybe, but still true nonetheless: all demos are always done in as near-perfect conditions as possible, never reflecting real-life situations and therefore spreading misinformation and false hopes.
  28. If you're going away from OEM sizes you probably need to clear it with your insurers.
