  2. We've sold our caravan and swapped our 2019 Karoq Edition 2.0 190PS 4X4 DSG for a 2020 Kamiq SE L 1.5 DSG. The Kamiq was from our local Skoda dealership and met our requirements by having: Reversing camera - to assist in reversing out of our drive. Variable boot floor - to allow the dog's crate to fit when the rear seat is down Heated front seats - for Mrs SDA's bad back Amazingly there was only one other Kamiq with that spec. on Autotrader and that was 200 miles away in Devon. We collected the Kamiq last Friday and there are several odd issues: Smell - the interior has a strong odour of white spirit that wasn't there when test driven. Missing floor mat - the driver's floor carpet mat is missing, though the other three are in place. There again I guess it gets the most wear. Missing lever - the driver's seat lumbar adjusting lever isn't there. The stub of the adjuster is there but no lever. The passenger side is OK. Missing tools - there is no spare wheel, but there is the foam tool kit tray which only contains a locking wheel nut and a jack winding handle. No jack, tyre compressor, tyre gunk or anything else. It would be good to know what it should have as standard.
  3. Can you compare them to the bits I used. See the post above which also has the part numbers listed as well. Thanks. AG Falco
  4. also tried a 1.5 Monte Carlo trim, much sharper, but nearly 50% more on price for similar age
  5. hi, I just moved from a Seat Leon FR130 to a Scala 150 SE with DSG The cars are about the same size externally, internally the Scala cabin is a bit smaller, but the boot is larger, which works for me. The controls are more reminiscent of my 2016 Leon FR 150, as is the power. Maybe the handling is'nt as sharp, but that's down to tyres mostly. The Scala is a softer ride and with D mode is an easy motorway cruiser. Price , a bit more than your budget, but not much, 6500 miles, <1 year ex demonstrator. Took me while to find it, still would have preferred a manual, but it seems they are no longer around

  8. Hi folks, Can anyone advise which fuel filter is correct for my application? I’ve searched the usual parts places eg GSF, Opie, ECP, Parts in motion, Autodoc but not one of them tell me the exact fuel filter to use. I’ve done a little research it’s for my 2011 Octavia Mk2 2.0TDI 140 version with CFHC engine code. I’ve even noted the part number on the canister 1k0 127 399 CL but still can’t find any reference to which filter should be in the canister. I’m assuming the canister part number is superseded and the after market fuel filters are referencing the later number perhaps? Anyone help? TIA Nick
  9. I sought help from citizens advice and write a letter describing the problems to the overall Company and setting out my rights and what the law requires. I received a reply saying that they will take the car, leave me with a courtesy car, and give the car a run around and basically sort out the problem....to we will see!!
  10. TSI,s can have misfires that might not log because not enough in a cycle. Back with Mk2 Fabia vRS there could be 'Limp mode' and not logged in the codes. @Sklinda Is it a 1.0 TSI or a MPI?
  11. I think I've got all the right parts in my cart (see attached), but I'm not mega confident of being able to do this myself. Skoda Citigo 2014. Does anybody know of a place in the North West of England who can do this? Thanks
  12. Gasoline Particulate Filter. Some have had issues with lots of short trips in cold weather. Covid years, You do not clean a OPF/ GPF in the same way as a DPF.
  13. I believe that even petrol powered Mk4 Octavias are equipped with a particulate filter and require the weekly blat to unclog them.
  14. I forgot to add photo's.... Black 17" low profile tyres (not keen) 16" MK1 VRS wheels (better ride) at my age I find them smoother...
  15. On a 21 plate the Corolla will only have 122hp with the 1.8 and gen 4 hybrid running gear. From 23 plate it’ll be much improved in many ways inc 140hp, gen 5 hybrid, better infotainment CarPlay etc… Do you have the Suzuki Swace in your country? - which is a Corolla TS in drag, frequently cheaper, better spec but didn’t have low profile tyres (quieter!). I find my 24 plate relaxed on a run , even on a motorway. It frequently drops to electric only - especially in roadworks. You don’t “hear “ the engine come and go. However the 1.5 engine is a lively beast in the Scala and should be pretty relaxed on a long run. Can’t comment re other noises.
  16. Fabia 1,6 TDI (105bhp) Reg Date; 2013 (13) Colour; White Options; Amundsen satnav & Bluetooth, Mods; Changed to 5J 16" VRS wheels

  18. Welcome to the forum. Doesn't look bad actually - I rather like the bi-plane and extra 'kick up' look. I wonder if it actually helps to keep the rear window a bit clearer in rain?
  19. The Jag is bold but that Alfa, wow. It'll look amazing on the back of a recovery truck
  20. UPDATE: Car has been to the garage, they have replaced the crank sensor and asked me to see how it goes, I will keep you updated. Regards Tony
  21. Hi at all, I found your forum because i have the same problem. I have to update with de swl file but i can´t find it. My unit ref is: 3C8 035 680 HW : h26 SW: 6270 Can you help me? thank you
  22. I used to drive petrol volvo 940 s for years and loved them. Nearly two ton fully loaded tank that shifted when you wanted it to. Alas at 35mpg max it became a bit expensive for long runs so swapped to Octavia 1.9tdi to get 65mpg plus. Bomb proof car with no dpf to worry about. Now on a 1.6tdi and dont cover the miles required to keep DPF healthy. With the increased MPG of modern petrol engines and the price of diesel these days next one will be petrol. (Not an electric fan) I reckon at 40miles per day (10k per year) the savings on diesel wouldnt be much these days. I would go to a dealer and have a test drive to see what a petrol is like to drive. 27. I have had diesels since 2001, (SAAB 9.3, 2010 Seat Leon 170bhp, and now Octavia Mk4 200bhp). I love the torque of the diesels, but increased cost relative to petrol now makes now makes petrol a better choice unless you are doing very high milage. I used to do 15,000 a year when I bought the SAAB, and towed a caravan with it, but on my current mileage and relative fuel costs the choice would be petrol. Another downside of newer diesels is the emissions system, which will immobilise the car and cost a lot of money if it fails, or you run out of AdBlue. As for high daily mileages, you can do more in a car than you could in a lorry with a tachograph. I once did about 600 in a day, on a 650cc motorbike, by I was young and still immortal then. More recently I did over 800 miles in a day in the Seat Leon. I had set off early from Miranda de Ebro in Spain, intending to drive home via the Channel Tunnel in two days, but it was the first Friday of the "Gilets Jaune" protests in France. I stopped for fuel near Bordeaux and was warned that nothing would move much on Saturday or Sunday, so I drove home in one go.

  31. I think you have done the right thing. You might have had a better result by getting the car fixed, but you might also have had a bigger bill than a 13 year old car was worth, even with that low mileage. Better luck with whatever you buy to replace it.
