  4. Hello all, looking for some input on the following: Recently acquired myself a beautiful Race Blue 2022 Octavia Combi. I noticed it currently had software version 1889 installed and was looking to perform an update on this to the newest 1989 version. However when delving into the update menu, I noticed it currently has MOI3_EU_VW_R8890L installed, rather than an EU_SK counterpart version. My question is whether someone has seen this before and whether or not it'd be possible for me to update the firmware to MOI3_EU_SK_R9890L without hassle. Good to know that I have not received any OTA updates about it in my 2 months of ownership so far.
  5. adding stiffness without change clearance - Eibach Pro Kit from Kodiaq on Superb Mk3.FL 280ps AWD -> https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/510961-2023-280ps-lk-replaced-2016-220ps-style/page/3/#findComment-5854160
  6. @MarioVrs They're Bilsteins on there - B6? Has it settled any more? I know if they're not equally adjusted they will put torsional forces on the arb but I don't think they would have enough to lift a corner. Also, I had to relook at mine, I don't think Racingline ones are top/bottom; seem entirely reversible so possibly the mechanic just didn't think there'd be that factor? I see the 034 ones come in bits to put together though. RL ones are already made and you just rotate the main middle bar to extend or retract both when car is down on the floor etc.
  7. In case @Macsamillion isn't around much: Try this post @MartiniB will also have a table to post too πŸ˜€

  9. What was the part number for the rear eibach springs? My car has just failed it’s MOT on a broken rear coil spring, so looking to replace them with eibach ones
  10. So further information. I realised once the black plastic slide clips are off one also has to flick off the 4x stainless clips from inside of the wagon door - I used an O ring picker. Light gently pushes out after that. New light needs these clips refitted before clicking into place.
  11. VW Caddy,s from 2013 involved in the Global recall that does not include right hand drive vehicles.

  14. As far as I am aware, it depends on the generation of the steering system: MQB_VWBS_GEN2 -----> affected (2WD?) MQB_PP_APA ------------> affected (4x4 vehicles?) EPS_MQB_ZFLS ----------> not affected (2WD?) So, it looks like all the direct MQB generations are involved. All three types are currently in use within my circle of family/acquaintances, which is how I know for certain which ones are affected and which are not. However, this is purely my own speculation.y own speculation.
  15. If the slide clips are off, it's just stuck. There's nothing else that holds it. It will break if you pry from the outside

Folks, I picked up my "new" Octavia s few weeks ago and in the boot area are 2 almost vertical bars. Here's one. I'm thinking it was a dog barrier,. Has anyone got any other offerings?

  20. Hi, I am trying to update my MIB3 system because version 0270 is very buggy. My software train is MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P27005P. Can someone or @pab567 help me with the download links to do the intermediate update to 0306/0308 and then 0324? Thank you!

  22. you can try to buy original oil filters, but dont touch sump plug.
  23. This is REALLY smart. So I can just go to to the service to official dealer workshop at 29 000km and 58 000km for oil+oil filter change so no problems with warranty. And on my intervals (every 8 000km) I change the oil with vacuum pump! What about the oil filter though? I do not want to have only two oil filter changes in 58 000km! It sounds terrible for the engine, or? If I replace it with exactly same original one, will it be noticed? In previous Skoda 2018 I bought it brand new and did all oil/oil filter/spark plug/brake fluid/G13 to G12evo anticoolant change/brake discs/brake pads (battery measurements still on good intervals ) services myself from brand new 0km to 93 000km that is now, never went to any dealer or workshop so I have few experience with them. Thank you.
  24. It's probably a MK3 if its a 200. The equivalent on MK4 is 193. The first two years of warranty are unlimited miles. You can also go with the 'All In' plan once it hits 3 years of age which is good value at (I think) Β£38 a month. This includes basic servicing, roadside assistance and MOTs as well as a warranty. My dad in law has a MK3 (think its a 190 TDI, so similar) that has topped the 200k miles mark and still going strong so not an unreasonable expectation if maintained well.
  25. Having exact same problem myself. Seems like they never fail until physically broken. Have everything disassembled and slide clips off but unable to release light assy. Will keep prying 😬

  27. Suggest you contact OBDeleven support about activating the Hill Hold assist-feature on your car. https://obdeleven.com/support?srsltid=AYCX9vIwlFscsdEPBYvC0PS44GKToWgQzUtm4NLBco8rQYEs9xV1V50E There is some online discussion (forums and Facebook) about doing this on Fabia Mk4 cars that do not have the feature as standard. But it may well be that -when the Fabia has been built recently - it will be much harder (or even impracticable ) to modify its software coding to enable/disable the Hill Hold feature. This potential limitation was highlighted here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/532808-obdeleven-coding-and-adaptations/
  28. Mine is a 2017 so 5W40 FS will probably be my choice. Brilliant response gents thank you.
  29. For the past few months or so I've been having issues with Google maps connecting to Android Auto on my Skoda Octavia, I get an error message coming up saying "Android Auto has encountered an unexpected error". I've never had issues before since I purchased the car back in 2023. I've tried a number of troubleshooting solutions which have temporarily fixed the issue but then when I restart the car it has the same issue. What I've tried is updating android auto via playstore. Clearing cache and clearing data in settings apps for android auto, forgetting my phone n Skoda mobile and restarting the phone and reconnecting. Pressing and holding down the power button to the infortainment system. There are probably other things I've tried but I can't think of at the moment.

  32. It would appear that the massive increase in the use of nitrous oxide as a fertiliser has risen massively, and in 1950 it was 50 million tonnes globally, and by 2000 it had reached 300 million tonnes – that's 6 times. It also turns out that it is 300 times worse than COβ‚‚ for global warming and thus climate change, and as it makes up now, some 8% of the air, it therefore seems logical that it has far more effect than COβ‚‚, so maybe we should be turning the attention away from combustion engines and start looking at ways of drastically cutting the use of nitrous oxide as a fertiliser. It has already been shown that being indoors (at home) exposes us to far higher levels of harmful pollutants than standing at the roadside, especially while cooking is being done, and that would also explain why when air quality monitoring stations are located next to catering facilities such as fast food, cafes and restaurants, those stations measure far higher levels of pollution than those situated right alongside the A406 (the north circular road) in London.
