  2. There’s all sorts of stuff (mostly useless 😬). I did find a battery temperature app though which I’ve added to the Home Screen.
  3. If you find that you need to do a lot of charging not at home then it may be worth knowing about Tesla's charging network. Many of their "supercharger" locations are open to all. Tesla cars pay a reduced rate per kWhr. Most locations are open to all and if you dont drive a Tesla you can buy a "subscription" to get the cheaper rate that Tesla cars pay..... From Duckduckgo ....

  5. Thanks for your very comprehensive reply Arianne. I use exactly the format and folder structure you describe above on a Samsung 256GB usb-c stick. Also tried with other makes of sticks and a 1TB external ssd. Well that was my last shot at fixing my media playback woes. I’m in the process of ordering the Honda Civic eHEV in Advanced trim. I love it’s driving characteristics, fuel economy and ergonomic control layout. It comes with an 8 year guarantee too. Not as luxurious as the Superb but I can live with that, I came back from my test drive with a huge smile on my face!
  6. Yes, its literally a few posts down from this one. A few of us got the file from one of the guys and it works perfectly.
  7. Is there a firmware upgrade I need to do on my head unit ? If yes where can I get a free firmware file from to fix the clock ?

  10. Few days ago information popped about this update and I clicked 'Cancel'. How to make it appear again or somehow force update check availability?
  11. Yeah, I tend to trust him as I got several recomendations for him. The car is 2015 and it has done 96k approx. In recent years since begin of Covid it has seen a very little use and it resides permanently in Bulgaria now. We agreed he should try and replace the faulty injector with a second hand one, to get the car running again and then we will consider full change over when we get the chance to test all all 4.
  12. Hi, had you had any luck? Im wanting to do this as well to my Mk2 skoda superb

  14. I have seen various questions regarding the correct replacement struts for the Yeti, and a few other models as well. I am just replacing the original German made ones on my 2016 Outdoor. There is a lot of 'advice' out there via Amazon & Ebay etc, but most is computer generated and aimed at selling their preferred type. To cut to the chase, I recommend that anyone wanting to replace theirs go to SGS Engineering at Derby, either via the website or pick up the phone - yes they have one! I was able to sort out my correct replacement whilst talking to someone who knew his buisness. They were delivered in 24 hrs. The thing is - they make them here in Britain, give a 2 year guarantee, and mine were half the price from a very popular retailer for German car parts. I am not on commission for SGS, but having bought a 2 ton trolley jack and stands from them a few years ago with similar savings can only highly recommend them.
  15. I have 2 very similar, very good but very similar Octavia's and it might be a bit much. ( I STILL haven't serviced clutch on my petrol 2014 vRS manual with 80k but getting around to it soon, either been unwell or its been stinking hot this year and I just didn't feel like engaging in the heat but will do ). Hell of a car, the only thing I've been less keen on is the colour Black. Also though, have an L+K 1.8Tsi is amazing but just different (DSG) in that metallic grey. Only about 20K on that. Surely got to be around 10K worth surely that is something someone would snap up? Electrically adjusted comfort seats, same Canton stereo as vRS, front "active" cruise control etc They are very similar though and take up drive space awkwardly. What would I get rid of? The L+K might seem that it would probably yield the most value, and the vRS pips it on out and out performance ( but probably more performance than most situations need ). The 1.8TSi as an everyday car is probably more than adequate for most people. Have 2 other cars ( wifes citigo and convertible) to boot ! Would keep both but I don't know how practical that really is, this is my first year having them both after my dad stopped driving and gave me L+K. Thoughts?
  16. Just look on kwikfit, they are very clear which have rim protection when buying. I bought continentals for the 1.8Tsi LK I acquired from father as that was what was on it. After fitting these were chunky around rim offering protection and was clear when trying to buy them which ones are protected (not mentioned below for some reason though), so just use the websites. 2 x Continental SportContact 7 at £95.50 Tyre Size 225/40 18Y EU Tyre Label Info - Vehicle Type C1, Fuel Efficiency C, Wet Grip A, Noise Rating B-72dB Load Index: 92

  19. Has anyone got any recommendations for roof bars for the Scala. It appears to have bolt holes in the door reveal to take something. Might also look a a roof box for holidays.
  20. With respect to the repeated infotainment unit application updates I received an email today from Skoda Digital saying they are aware of the fault, are working on a solution which will be pushed out over the air, so watch this space...... at least they are admitting there is a fault now.
  21. Could you re-upload ?
  22. Hi guys I'm hunting the web for the correct P/N for the rubber O ring seal for the fuel cap fitted on the car, nothings really jumping out. Just got flagged on the MOT though not triggered a failure as an advisory. Can anyone help with that one? Fuel cap has a P/N of 1JO 201 553 AH on it Only seal P/N's that seem to come up are:- 1K0 201 557 A 191 201 557 1K0 201 557 3C0 201 557 Any ideas?!

  25. It'll be the bigger one so south of £300. Ring up and ask 2 or 3 dealers.
  26. JD52 started following Final Drive Service?
  27. Ask the supplying dealer and get a written answer. A lot depends on the mileage of the car. If you are on the mileage limit then get it done. You don't want to be arguing if you have a problem in year 3.
  28. It might well be chargeable, not saying it's not but 2 hours is steep! What's the tech going to do, sit and watch it update? The My Skoda app has limited access to the car and does not affect the OTA updates provided the car , and you as it's user, are registered with Skoda.
  29. @ johnnnie47. Yes that is exactly what I was saying.
  30. My Kamiq was registered in November 2024, but was last serviced in September 2025. In order to satisfy the new car warranty conditions, do I need to have it serviced in September or can it wait until November. Is it strictly 12 monthly service required?
  31. Hi all I need to get new tyres for my front wheels. I currently have Michelin PS4s on 18" Gemini alloys. My other half has a bad habit of scraping kerbs with the front wheel. I'm looking for a tyre with decent rim protection. Anyone got any recommendations?

  33. I really have no opinion on packages sold locally, as they certainly differ at the hands of the importers... Even I skipped on the heat pump (Norwegian, close to Oslo so its somewhat coastal climate). It is my understanding after speaking to a local VAG quality claims-resource there have been some issues with the HPs in the past, but it seems to have improved quite a lot. But I got the input from a local owner, it really was of no big issue for daily driving, as one just preheats before departure as per quote above. But sure, a SCOP (feed vs output) of heating the car wit heat pump is surely better, by all means. I just wanted to go a bit basic with our spec to replace a Roomster. Then again, I tend to cherish the time with our Skodas, keeping them for too long anyhow... Chinese offerings seems to be quite cheaper, but I chose what I will enjoy over time and ease of ownership. Opted for the new 60 (new more efficient motor, and new LFP battery). We do keep our Octavia 3 though for now, as it has a significantly better boot capacity. The Golf/Octavia/Passat platform has become a rather good one, despite its age. Best of luck with your decision making !
  34. Smell of hot clutch fluid getting out of an underground car park, and then car not going above fourth gear....... anything I can do myself to check transmission fluid or anything else? In Spain, and seemingly in trouble. We've been over a month away, so any breakdown cover no longer valid? Does it have to go to a VAG dealer?
  35. Hi everyone, I have just brought a 2020 VRS 2.TSI Challenge edition DSG and the paperwork says it had a FInal Drive service at 47k and Gearbox service at 99k. I'm trying to work out if they are one and the same or if it's a different service with different fluid. Chat GPT thinks it's the same but another search says it's different. Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks
