  1. Well it is not Rieger side skirt. Actually I got it from China, shipped to OZ by marine. Cost me about 150 bucks for the side skirt itself, 20 bucks for shipping fee, 300 bucks for painting. I paint it with red on top, and black on bottom. It was like this, sorry for the low quality img. I was loving the side skirt at the beginning. But lately I felt it was a little bit too low for my taste. If you check the first pic, the side skirt was much lower than front and rear bumper. It makes the car looks like a guy with big belly. So I simply cut the black part, it looks much better for my taste. Simply Clever. I also made a pair of removable black side skirts.
  2. To quote Faith No More "I CARE A LOT". When you floor a stage 1 Sportline Superb with 360 ponies ripping up the tarmac it is somehow extra satisfying to see 2 large puffs of steam being blown out of those twin exhausts to remind you why you didn't buy the diesel.
  3. For our grand daughters 5th birthday, my mrs bought a skirt with multi coloured lights in it on ebay, ordered from China 4 weeks ago We waited and waited for delivery. Last week a pair of raybans turned up Can you have a word elfen please
  4. Happy with my Superb now. Wheel spacers, Rieger skirt, Scirocco R exhaust tips, R600 intake... And the giant red flappy paddles are hilarious, people look at them at traffic lights thinking “what a saddo” and then BOOM I’m gone 😂

It's to basically run all the auxiliary 12v systems. And to operate the door looks and remote locking etc. Otherwise the DC to DC converter would need to continually run to provide power to these systems which would consume power in itself. Even Tesla's have a 12v battery!
  6. When I had my 300+bhp front wheel drive Octavia I used to give the 280 boys a hard time regarding how heavy the Superb is but the reality is you have total traction all the time, even on a soaking wet road so it really doesn't feel its weight because none of the available power is wasted unlike powerful front wheel drive cars.
  7. That's just designed to confuse. I just like the way cyclists get all this whilst paying nothing to use the road..
  8. I have an Octavia L&K 2.0 litre DSG 1969 that came with twin electric seats in the front. There was no unbrella holder present and I was told that it could not be added. Today I took delivery of an underseat drawer from AliExpress that was actually advertised for Audi or VW but was for electric seat versions. Cost was £34.92 and it took 2 months exactly to get here from China. It fitted the seat as it should clipping in the back and using the two suipplied screws to secure at the front. I used a M10 socket to undo the four seat fixing bolts in order to allow the seat to tip back enough to see what I was doing. I also needed a T10 screwdriver to take the front off the drawer to get at the fixing screws. Although it does not match the seat surround perfectly it fits under the seat well and opens and closes properly. It had to go on the Drivers side because the Canton SS Amp stops it fitting the passenger seat. Hope this is useful to the group.
  9. The only whiny noise I get is when my wife sits in the passenger seat..... 🤭
  10. Well, simply because I am a Chinese living in Melbourne. So I can access to the Chinese e-commerce website Taobao without any restric. 😋 Items listed on Taobao are always much cheaper than those on eBay, even they might be exactly the same thing. I was working for ebay & Paypal when I was in China several years ago. So I know how these things worked😋 Basically all my cosmetic items are purchased from China, all the performance related or safety related items are purchased locally, or from those reputed manufacturers in EU and US.
  11. It's well known there is no hidden data, it's just the SD card CID which needs to be correct. Most SD cards have the CID locked but some versions of the Samsung Evo don't so it can be changed to match the original Skoda card. I have one here for when the maps do pass the 16GB limit which I previously used to trick my RNS-310 I'm sure I once saw that there's a file with a list of valid CIDs and some people figured out how to add an extra CID to cover their card. Can't seem to find it now though...
  12. New to the forum. Here is my 2018 280 Sportline. Absolutely love it!
  13. I have been after a Dragon Skin Green Superb Sportline 280 hatch for some time and found 'the one' in deepest southernist England, then COVID happened and I had to wait and finally missed it. With all the uncertainty around work at moment, I decided to play it safe and went for something that would cope with a longer commute if I have to find a new job and cost a hell of a lot less..... So ater 2 years without a vRS (bus till a Skoda), vRS No.5 has been acquired. 14. Working on my car bit by bit. Got this beauty installed today Love it. Strait from carbon-fibre master from Mother Russia (I am not joking ) . Quality is just amazing! real carbon. #carbonfibre
  15. So ... I had the firmware updated a month or so ago. I've only just started driving it again after being furloughed but it feels a lot smoother. I've not noticed anything detrimental so far and the MPG doesn't seem to have been affected. Fingers crossed. I've done maybe 600-700 miles now and no issues. Still a little jerky when cold but nowhere near as bad. Oh and on the way home from work today ......

@shyVRS245 Yes I suspect they did as there is not any space for a battery in the engine area 🙂 @TbirdX Not sure but I would spec the VC and traffic signs as with the new systems these two give you a far better experience 🙂 Also ensure you get the new manual. Not sure where you live but if you sign up for PodPoint (no cost) you can get free charging at Tesco 🙂 John
  17. If you're upgrading for looks, I'd go at least 17, maybe 18". Tbh 18" looks small on the vRS Octavia however on a non vRS car you don't want to go ott otherwise it'll look ridiculous and not suit the car. The O3 has 19" as a factory option so it fitting isn't an issue, but whether it suits the car or not will be. Personally I'd stick some other slightly bigger skoda or vag wheels on it. Putting fancy looking wheels on a non vRS car just looks like you've turned up to a nice restaurant in old ripped jeans and a £200 pair of smart shoes, it'll stand out like a sore thumb.
  18. Yes. This. But for me about 60bhp less, and no traction! Lmao, liking the random Trump rant mid-thread 😂
  19. Hi All, This is my first real post here - I picked up my Kodiaq a few weeks ago and love it so far. But the tech is daunting - The Jeep Grand Cherokee I traded was stone age tech compared to the Kodiaq! Everything is working, and I'm trying not to get too deep into the millions of things I don't know yet, but there is this one thing. I've had the same ringtone for years. And I struggle a little to recognise my own phone ringing when it is some weak jingle I don't know, and with Android Auto, I don't get my ring tone, I get the Columbus weak jingle ringtones. It seems that with Android Auto and my Samsung I do not have the option of using the phone ringtone. Has anybody worked out how to upload their own ringtone into the Columbus Telephone - User Profile - Select Ring Tone menu? Cheers! John K
  20. Yes @J.R. that's the 3/8" set, I also have a 1/2" and a 1/4" set. I can report nothing but great service from them, with the exception that using the back of the 3/8" ratchet handle as a hammer may result in breaking the forwards/backwards ratcheting selector lever. Not sure which wise man might have done that, as I'm the only one that ever uses the set? 😑
  21. You forgot getting Trump re-elected this November..........hang on a minute.........low flying pig overhead with exhaust flaps open.......no just a pigeon on a bombing raid.
  22. The 280/272 is not a fleet vehicle. There are just 836 280’s / 272’s across SE L Exec and L&K types in the U.K. today and I’d hazard a guess that 95% of those have been bought outright or PCP’d by individuals, most of whom almost certainly DO care.
  23. May be one of these would do the trick for you. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hot-Diesel-Start-Starting-Fix-VW-Golf-Passat-Audi-Seat-Skoda-1-9-2-0-2-5-TDI/201911548894?epid=0&hash=item2f02ddbbde:g:Ry0AAOSw0vBUgZKs
  24. I do like that green on a VRS. I'm a blue car guy, but the green is very striking, noice!
  25. Looks like another fine sunny day in Dublin.Needs the red shift up lights like an F1 racer to be UBER COOL.

Dear peeps of Briskoda, I salute you. Been lurking around these forums for a couple of years now but never got registered. This is partially because most of the info is available without registering. :) With the greetings, allow me to say thanks at the same time. You helped me save hell of a lot of money on the car in all sorts of ways. Won't be posting that much actually but wanted to get registered anyhow. Cheers Andrija
  27. Yup, plenty of sellers on eBay are happy to change the CID before dispatching cards too. Once 32GB is required, I'd expect to see a spike of eBay sellers offering suitable cards ;)
  28. I am afraid Bose system will not work as expected in Superb - in Audi woofers are located in the front and overall number of speakers in different. If you don't want to show what you have done then my proposal is: 1. install vibration damping matts inside the doors 2. replace speakers, I recommend Gladen Audio One 165 SQX for both front and rear 3. add digital sound processor and 8 channel amplifier, I am very pleased with STEG SDSP8 4. tune new system to your preferences Estimated cost 1200-1500 GBP.
  29. I think you need to stop swearing at the car because you have clearly upset it's feelings. BTW my name is Bob and I'm very much alive fortunately.
  30. Choose me some lottery numbers please. I need some luck.
  31. My maps are back!!! It was exactly as FabiaGonzales said. It seems a bit of a poor show from Skoda though, as there is no hint of this on the instructions in their On-Line Portal. You would naturally think that, as long as you follow their step by step guide, it would be no problem. Thanks again to all respondents, especially FabiaGonzales
  32. DSGFabiaSEL - that's shocking. I'm guessing that there's a bodywork inspection to carry out as part of the service regime, and they haven't ticked the box as having done it? It's one of the problems of not having a proper service book anymore. On my service paperwork there are sections titled internal, external, under bonnet, brakes suspension and bearings, underbody and steering, other. All are ticked with no advisories. I don't know if this is a Skoda standard report or dealer specific As for the P error, £229 labour for 1/2 hour????? Sounds more like 2 hours. The complete gear selector incorporating the switch had to be replaced on my car. The centre console was removed, and the exhaust had to be dropped to do it, then set up on the laptop. This took longer than 1/2 hour. I understand that the switch has been redesigned so that only that part has to be replaced, making it much cheaper. Unfortunately, it has not fixed the issue in my case. It was rebooked to have the new style switch fitted, but when I took it in, Skoda advised that the new type switch had already been fitted as part of the gear selector. Hope you get a positive result with customer service
  33. Thought I'd try a JB4 first, as if I don't like it (I'm a VTEC bummer, so torque feels weird and makes me paranoid something's gonna break, I actually sold my R26 megane after mapping as it felt like something was going to go bang, despite having been mapped by one of the country's best mappers, Chris @ EFI) I can sell it on. Plus it's removable for warranty. Taking it to Shak at LSG in Bolton. He's supposedly the main man for Jb4.
  34. If you go with a quality mapping company, you should see over 300bhp. I have just mapped my car with Racingline OEM maps. Stock power was shown on the rolling road as above Skoda figures and after the stage one map the car achieved 329bhp with 499nm or torque. There are no other hardware mods on the car either. The guy who mapped the car did say I had an extremely healthy car to start with. Bloomin thing really does shift now, very enjoyable, as well as useful at times.
  35. My stage 1 on the 245 was 302bhp and 467nm so you should be in that ballpark. As long as you are not 17 years old with zits and wear a baseball cap the wrong way round you will be just fine.

Hi, this is taken from Ross Tech WiKi I would run an Autoscan to make sure there are no outstanding fault codes that would prevent it doing a re-generation, such as EGR or Injector or timing errors. Where the text states 'Regeneraration while standing' that refers to Service Regeneration It also states that 'this may take 30 minutes' mine took nearly 40. You can check out quite a lot at Ross Tech, download their manual, FAQ's, Support, WiKi pages and there own Forum. In the measuring data if you type 'partic' in the search box it will bring up the measuring blocks you need to measure the soot and ash content. You can do this without doing a regeneration. To answer your question, yes it would reset to '0' but if there is any residual ash then obviously that might distort the reading a bit. I reset mine after a 'chemical clean' using the JML 2 stage process so not too sure what medium / long term effect resetting the value after it has been running will have. Hope this is some help? 1.6l/2.0l R4 CR-TDI (CAN) With the newer CR-TDI engines there are 2 different types of regenerations available depending on the actual soot mass/load. If either the calculated or measured soot mass is above 30g but below 40g you can initiate a regeneration while standing (Idle will be raised etc.), a forced regeneration while driving is also possible. Once the values are above 40g (but below the max 45g) the regeneration while standing is no longer available and the regeneration while driving is the only way. Regeneration while Standing/Idle Prerequisites (General): Ignition ON Engine ON (Idle) Fuel Tank at least 1/4 full Transmission in Neutral/Park Parking Brake engaged Coolant Temperature above 70 °C (see MVB 002.4) Particle Filter Load below Specification (see MVB 108.2/3 -or- 241.2/3 VCDS should give the specified values) If the Particle Filter Load is above Specification the Particle Filter needs to be replaced since the car may burn down when regenerating. Power Consumers ON (Light, Seat Heating, Front/Rear Window Heater, Climate Control) Engine Hood Closed [Select] [01 - Engine] [Security Access - 16] Enter the Code shown by VCDS next to Adaptation Enabling (e.g. Regeneration while Standing) [Do It!] [Basic Settings - 04] Select Block for Regeneration while Standing [Go!] [On/Off/Next] if Basic Settings isn't automatically ON at the top of the screen. Follow the Instructions on the Screen. This process may take up to 30 minutes. [Done, Go Back] Check the following groups after the regen. The Particle Filter Load should be as low as possible (close to 0 %) [Meas. Blocks - 08] Select Blocks 099 and 108 at once. [Go!] MVB 099.2: Exhaust Gas Temperature before Turbo Charger MVB 099.3: Exhaust Gas Temperature before Particle Filter MVB 099.4: Exhaust Gas Temperature after Particle Filter MVB 108.2: Particle Filter Soot Mass (calculated) Alternate group 241.2 if 108 is blank MVB 108.3: Particle Filter Soot Mass (measured) Alternate group 241.3 if 108 is blank [Done, Go Back] [Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
  38. ah, i didn't realise ur from Oz too @elfensin 🙂 i'm based in the ACT. i was about to get those same Taiwan sourced side-skirts too, but i had my eyes set on the Rieger side skirts. how did u get urs so cheap though. when i looked at those ones, the seller on ebay was asking close to $1k for it shipped to Oz. i think the black lip in addition to ur side-skirts made it look even fatter. good thing u removed it. my Rieger ones make the car fat too, probably cause it protrudes outwards in the center bits, but i don't mind that.
  39. This was happening to me. It’s a common fault, the Superb has a coolant pump which has a plastic housing and often fails or cracks. I think there is a revised part which isn’t covered by any recalls as it wasn’t “common enough” {{ EDIT: Maybe my engine differs to yours (2.0 220bhp) but I asked him to do the cambelt but he said that this plastic water/coolant pump was not run by the cambelt so that would be an unnecessary cost - a bit like changing your head gasket with your spark plugs 🤷‍♂️ }} I ended up paying about £450 to replace it, and that was an independent VAG specialist, can’t imagine Skoda prices! Initially I took the car for diagnosis and they took the diagnosis cost off the bill at the end. They said it only leaks when engine is running and hot, and because of the location of the pump plus the plastic under trays meant that no puddle would form on the driveway. I hope this isn’t your issue as it’s an expensive one, but it’s worth paying for a diagnosis to avoid irreversible damage to your engine. Mine has been fixed for a couple of months now and coolant hasn’t moved 👍
  40. I agree, that really is ridiculous. Exactly... we all know it’s China causing global increases in C02, with their man-made viruses, 5G radiation and controlling the sun....
  41. Here is the PDF @SuperDuperSuperb....... removing rear bumper.pdf
  42. I admit, my sleeper has evolved... It’s funny, I did like the idea of hidden exhausts to a certain extent, it reminded me of an old jag that didn’t need to show off exhausts, it was just fast lol... I had an idea in my head 2 years ago of what I wanted, I was originally thinking a standard pair of VAG round chrome exhausts like an older A6. After spending 2 grand on having it all changed/swapped/replaced because of a pair of complete morons, I came across the Rieger skirt and my ideas changed. I’m well happy with it now, even if my circumstances mean I’ll have to let it go sometime soon my Superb is not like any other, I like that 👍
  43. First ride after the correct rear Eibachs were installed. With them and the thicker Audi pads car retains the OEM 1cm difference between front and rear but is overall 25mm lower than stock. Yeah I like it a lot now.
  44. Is that a Bahco socket set case that the cap is photographed on? If so you are an even wiser man than I thought
  45. As mentioned before, you'll need your engine and gearbox code to ascertain which clutch kit you need. From my experience of websites like that, they are all suitable for your car, it's just a question of which manufacturer you choose. LUK or Sachs are the two main ones for OE quality I'm lead to believe.
  46. My wife Fabia some years ago was bought with 40k at 3 years old and came as part of the deal with a new cam belt. I risked 8 years with this over 39k miles before I chickened out and replaced it.
  47. They will be back tho gregoir, its only that the silicone spray has filled them and made them less visible for now 😁

I’ve got one arrived last week impressed so far.
  49. I decided to get up early this morning and head off for a drive. We're lucky that there are some amazing roads round here and that on a Sunday morning the only real traffic on the roads is the occasional sheep or pheasant. The route is about 74 miles and goes from Scarborough up to Whitby, over the tops and then down to Danby, Castleton, Blakey Ridge and back home to Scarborough via Pickering. I also took a few photos along the way as it seemed like a good idea at the time. The car performed brilliantly and even returned nearly 37mpg despite the occasional use of the right foot. It's been ages since I used the car for anything other than going to work and back so I'm glad i made the effort.
