Got my RS IV monday this week It was ordered in week 20! And only one month delay to the original planned delivery. (Have been told I was lucky! 😅)

I've been using 11 since I was able to get it on developer preview. I absolutely love it, I am really impressed. I found it simple and intuitive, the only thing I found frustrating was the start menu being placed centrally, but that was configurable to put it back to the good ol'place.

You can't get wheel bolts anodised, they're high tensile steel. Get some non-toxic crayons and colour them in yourself, careful not to eat the crayons though, don't try marker pens, you'll just get them all over your face and your mummy will have to take you to the hospital.
  4. Well, there wasn't. There probably is now that everyone has decided they needed to buy fuel today 🤪
  5. I'm not 12, but I have the skills (and hammer) to disable the Kodiaq brake lights, albeit in a more... permanent manner 😛.

1.2 TSI water pump does not run on the cambelt so no point replacing it on that engine.

Here's a list of standard rear springs (including KYB RA5337) for the Superb MK3 Estate 2.0TDI 4x4 190PS showing that they are sold to replace OEM part number 3Q0511115M https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/coil-springs-10213/skoda/superb/superb-estate-3v5/115169-2-0-tdi-4x4?criteria[100][0]=HA The "VW Online Parts Catalogue" shows that 3Q0511115M is used on the VW Passat 2015 onwards. The VW online parts catalogue only goes up to 2016 so doesn't include the Superb MK3. Take a look at the following 11 sports springs (lowered 15mm) that are used on the VW Passat 2015 onwards. The list goes from softest to hardest, or weight range 1 to weight range 11. 3Q0511115S 3Q0511115T 3Q0511115AA 3Q0511115AB 3Q0511115AC 3Q0511115AD 3Q0511115BH 3Q0511115AE 3Q0511115AF 3Q0511115AG 3Q0511115BD However, autodoc don't list any matching aftermarket springs for these 11 sport springs. You could order any of them through a Skoda parts department, but you won't know the specification, other than knowing what the weight range is on the Passat or where that particular spring is in the above hierarchy. rear axle | Volkswagen Passat/4Motion/Santana 2016, suspension shock absorbers fr.wheel drv 1 3Q0511115AH coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YA 1 3Q0511115AJ coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YB 1 3Q0511115AK coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YC 1 3Q0511115AL coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YD 1 3Q0511115M coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YE 1 3Q0511115N coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YF 1 3Q0511115P coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YG 1 3Q0511115Q coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YH 1 3Q0511115R coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YJ 1 3Q0511115BC coil spring Model data: PR-1JA+0YK 1 3Q0511115S coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YA PR-UA0+0YA 1 3Q0511115T coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YB PR-UA0+0YB 1 3Q0511115AA coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YC PR-UA0+0YC 1 3Q0511115AB coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YD PR-UA0+0YD 1 3Q0511115AC coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YE PR-UA0+0YE 1 3Q0511115AD coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YF PR-UA0+0YF 1 3Q0511115BH coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YG PR-UA0+0YG 1 3Q0511115AE coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YH 1 3Q0511115AF coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YJ 1 3Q0511115AG coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YK 1 3Q0511115BD coil spring Model data: PR-1JC+0YL 1 3Q0511115BG coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YA 1 3Q0511115AN coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YB 1 3Q0511115AP coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YC 1 3Q0511115AQ coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YD 1 3Q0511115AR coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YE 1 3Q0511115AS coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YF 1 3Q0511115AT coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YG 1 3Q0511115BA coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YH 1 3Q0511115BB coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YJ 1 3Q0511115BE coil spring Model data: PR-UC7+0YK http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/PA/year/2016/drive_standart/793/hg_ug/511/subcategory/511000/part_id/0/lang/e VW/Audi/Seat/Škoda Option Codes Decoder 1JA = Rear shock absorption, basic design 1 1JC = Rear shock absorption for sports design UC7 = Rear shock absorption, chassis with increased ride height http://igorweb.org/equidec.aspx
  9. Humans are generally not sensible about anything, so expect short-term chaos. Fortunately, people don't have much storage for petrol other than their fuel tanks, so it should fizzle out rather quickly. I question the format of the thread title if being sensible is what the OP really wants, even if intended to be ironic.
  10. I asked about this in the VCDS Facebook group and was told it wasn't possible. Since then I've started applying the handbrake in situations where the brakelight is going to be dazzling. When it's time to set off I just give the accelerator a quick tap to disengage the handbrake.
  11. No bedding in required, I wonder if they've refitted it incorrectly and pinched the rack by using the wrong bolts.
  12. Hi all, I purchased my Scala SEL 110 BHP manual around May 2021. I got a lease, no extras. I came from owning a Fabia redline. I thought I really liked the fabia, until I got the scala. The scala is just better in almost every way. The only niggle is as the scala is a bigger car, its slightly heavier, and therefore not us punchy / nippy from a standstill. But that is only a small niggle. But that is only a small niggle. I agree the arm rest is little low and would have been nice with some adjustment, however I recently, actually today drove a fabia again, every time I got into the car I would want to rest my arm on the arm rest. I could not wait to get back into the scala. The scala has a much better ride quality and the interior is 100 % better, yes there some hard plastic, but so what? There is hard plastic in I think all cars in this segment and there some good quality soft plastic where it matters. Bottom line its a good buy, Skoda offers a lot for your money compared to other brands. More on the question about the Ford, I understand everyone has their own opinion and likes. I have found the inside of a ford look little dated and the infotainment screen just looks out of place / odd. The Scala has a bigger boot, its longer , however just ever so slightly narrower. At least you can test drive the 2, when I ordered the car we were in a lockdown and unable to properly test drive the Scala. ( still happy I made the purchase ).

They are the premium brands in the group with similar parts. Only going if what Skoda dealer told me.

Waiting for my VRS and Just been told that Skoda may start to change the specs of the cars, taking out standard features that are holding up production due to the parts shortage. Ordered mine in End of July and told should be ready end of December then after a couple of weeks it went to March next year.☹️Also Audi and VW are being prioritised over Skoda.
  15. Ah what a numpty I am. Will report back again on attempt two.

They have hundreds of cars in Dealerships owned by VW Group and surely their staff driving these Management cars (demonstrators) must notice some as faulty.

  19. It's the roll off, just seems to loose it in technical songs - I'm maybe just being a little picky with it! Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I was hoping Skoda would have avoided this but after going on their website today, I see they now have a pop up stating their is a delay to new vehicles! I will come back to this once ordered (99% I will be ordering one) and let you know the "estimated" delivery time!
  20. Well that’s great news ! Last time I checked it was between 5 and 600 quid I think. Just renewed now and it’s exactly the same price as last year with zero excess. Comes out at £387 ! Bargain !
  21. Have you got a video? There shouldn't be any boost at idle so I don't think it's intercooler piping related. Does the car feel slower at all?
  22. Getting my Pod Charger fitted next Friday. Octopus say their Go tariff is only a Beta product so can change at any time, we will see. Zoe charged up on granny cable and now showing 100% and 241 miles range. Will try and do a 205 miles to Reading services and back without mid journey charge. Got all my 12v bike, car, scooter batteries to charge up and got a 1000w 12v to 220v ac invertor on hand to keep the lights one. Queue. Apparently there are only a few thousand place where you can get this liquid that internal combustion engine cars use compared to millions of electricity outlets, off choice of motive power. https://news.sky.com/video/motorists-queue-at-petrol-station-after-delivery-issues-caused-some-closures-12416523
  23. Shy - remember him! He's probably still using his initial stockpile.
  24. Tenacious Tape maybe? I bought some to repair the pocket in a cycling jacket and it'll undoubtedly outlast the jacket. Be warned that it lives up to its name. Measure lots, once it's on it doesn't want to come off. Gaz

This table tells the story for model years up to 2020 (there's a separate table for later years). Use the engine code (see the sticker at the bottom of the driver's B-pillar) and model year. The QI6 column is for variable service-intervals, the Q1-Q4 column is for fixed. The notes on page 82 are:
  26. I don't think the difference in mpg, if there is a difference, is significant enough to cause extra visits to a petrol station.
  27. Well, Grant Shapps actually. Specifically GS appearing on the BBC and denying that there is a fuel shortage (where the fuel needs to be) "because it only takes 10 week to get an LGV test (well, he actually said "HGV" but that's wrong). I can think of 3 specific issues with this:- You don't just need an LGV licence to drive fuel tankers, you need a trailer licence as well, which is a second test. You need a Driver CPC, and that applies to anything over 7.5T GVW, not just tankers and/or trailers, which is another week. You need a Petrol Regulations certificate to drive fuel tankers. You need an LGV licence to even do your PetRegs course. Now, unless you can get in the queues for all of these in consecutive weeks, I make that more like 22 weeks. And yes, I would have expected the Minister for Transport to know this before being interviewed about "the driver shortage". Actually, I would also have expected a journalist who was interviewing him to know this.
  28. It’s crazy, no doubt someone somewhere has posted on social media that petrol/ diesel is going to run out, next thing every fuel station queued out this morning, our local Tescos certainly was. Next thing the fuel station tanks will be empty, and with the driver shortages will take i while to get refilled. Why can’t people just go about there business as usual and realise that it’s panic buying that’s a big part of the problems we’re having.
  29. Its the same old basic - Stupid people being stupid. It certainly doesn't help that the media a pumping out shock headlines. From what I gather, there is only a very few stations that have not had their delivery, no shortage, no panic buying required, but people being people...
  30. Does using the EHB with the engine running not put undue pressure on the DSG. Sure I’ve read on this forum that you need to select N or P if you are applying the EHB with engine running.
  31. I still can't quite get my head around knowledge that is less than zero 🤔 I've a nicely weathered jerry can that it my time has had diesel, petrol, two-stroke and paraffin in it, with no adverse effects. It's a great can, very useful. Inherited it (well stole it really) from my Dad, and knowing him I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's had tea, coffee, squash or god knows what else in it in its lifetime. Certainly wouldn't trouble me switching it between contents of diesel or petrol. Gaz
  32. The dealer is an idiot - the remap is applied to the engine ECU but the infotainment update is applied to the infotainment system ECU - which is totally different!

I always loved XP since that's what I grew up using, except Mac OS 9.2 and OS X. I was also quite partial to Windows 7, particularly for the Aero theme.
  34. But AUTOHOLD is so good and applies the front and rear brakes and with a DSG you can just leave in drive and stop / start enabled or not. Sorry no idea how to code out. That was asked in a General Maintenance post a few years back. Not all VW group vehicles do have the brake light on with AUTOHOLD as confirmed in a couple of threads I started. Some adult that knows there R,s and elbow will be along hopefully. Applying the E-parking brake is an option. Obviously long since not a Hand Brake, more a finger operated brake. Thank goodness for modern stuff sometimes, other times it can be a PITA. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/433302-auto-hold-brake-lights http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/438223-didnt-realise http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/455234-auto-hold
  35. Indeed... But on the kodiaq its electronic and seems to retain the brake lights on if the autohold engaged when you stopped...
  36. Wrong. 6. Body, structure and attachments - MOT inspection manual: cars and passenger vehicles - Guidance - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Pretty unlikely to be in need of replacement though, with possible exception of 'dogbone' one if your car has that type between underside of gearbox and subframe.
  37. Or you could ask them if they think it's necessary. There are formal tests of rock amplitude, but they're not part of the MoT.
  38. No, it will not - it's MQB High camera with CVBS NTSC output, for Amundsen+ you need either PQ camera, either high or low, with RGB NTSC output.
  39. A really comprehensive response from Carlston as ever. Your research is invaluable, and helped me to the right wheel and tyre choice on my Superb last year. Now very happily running 245/45/18 Michelin Cross Climate Plus on 18" Zenith in Platinum (Matt Grey Gun-metal)

Yeah it was an iV and was meant to be ready for 1st Sept. Was only told last week that it may be March 2022 so today's call surprised me.

First skoda and thus far very happy. Also looks good in silver i think.
  42. There is the 'All in' scheme with Skoda. http://skoda.co.uk/owners/all-in-service-plan For the DSG Oil change maybe best swerve Skoda Main Dealers if there is a good VW Specialist / Independent around your way. The Oil & Inspection Services & Extended Scope and then the extra cost of parts at ridiculous prices like for the Pollen & Air Filters are not worth paying IMO. A Full Service History with Invoices / Receipts showing stuff actually done is worth more than a FMDSH which might only show how little they have done.
  43. Final result are not great! its a safe tune! What I was the intake temp was c 50 degree and the Dyno cell was mid 30 degrees. Test005 is all mods without the 4 bar MAP/PUT sensor, Test006 is with Meth! However the car does pull like a train however ive been told that a car with a standard IS38 with a good stg2 tune would be faster! Seems like there aren't many tuners who can achieve a good tune with the Superb! So as I can tell depending on the turbo of course its, Ecotune, JBS (Chesterfield) and MRC. Im going to get some additional dyno runs and a smoke test done to under why it couldnt be tune its potential!
  44. That's the last date that the new one from that box can be fitted as a brand new belt. Shelf life, not belt life.
  45. 2021 L&K Hatch picked up yesterday. Ex-GM’s car at Carr’s Exeter - 280 4x4 in Magic Black (which is a stunning colour up close). Pretty much all the main options I can see (albeit some no cost); sunroof, 2-spoke steering wheel, 19” Trinity Anthracite wheels, ventilated front seats. Enjoyed a lovely drive back to London yesterday and Southampton and back today…and got the SOS error already. Otherwise I’m loving the different characteristics in the driver profiles etc.
  46. Picked up a 2018 Superb Estate SE Greenline Technology yesterday...
  47. Just remapped my Superb 2.0 litre Evo 150 bhp engine with a Stage 1/Economy map , had to bench flash it but what a difference in power and economy now , considering it was relatively quick and fuel efficient to start with
