    Absolute love it 😍 IMG_9464.MOV
  2. New wheels and tyres on the car today.
  3. Such a clear sky here last night (taken with my phone on night mode) Stunning picture
  4. Was just going to say the same - been there done that! I'd be getting the runners changed before it all gets too late and the whole mechanism gets knarled up.
  5. It's impossible for that part to just fall out which suggests the plastic runner has broken so I'm afraid you're going to need to take it all apart to fix it properly otherwise it will probably jam and break your regulator.
  6. Lovely walk in the sunshine earlier ( clouded over now😕)

  8. @Kobayashi since you’re in the north west I have a fully working fuel pump you’re more than welcome to have, no harm in swapping it and seeing if it makes any difference before parting with money to buy a new one.

So, it finally happened. I still can't believe it. RS 2.0 TSI Hatch Mamba/Hyper Green Ordered first week of March Forced colour change for MY22 in the meantime (was meant to be Meteor Grey) Produced late July, from then waiting incomplete Finished Jan 3 In Poland Jan 13 Collected today, Jan 27 It was a long wait (10+ months!), but just a short drive makes me think it was more than worth it. It's going to be with me for the next 3 years for sure. Apparently, it also matches my wife! 😂 Keeping fingers crossed for all your orders to get fulfilled soon!
  10. Another goldfinch from summer
  11. Hi all, just a response to the boot rattle issue, mine only started within the last month or so proper annoying!, went through everything including driving with an empty boot, still there, took the advice of looking at the boot stops and after adjusting both slightly rattle has disappeared! , will let you know how it progresses.
  12. There was no hint of a sunset when I arrived (@ Rufford Park) and in the space of a few moments it looked like the sky was on fire!
  13. I replaced my units. Before removing the old ones I drove an appropriate distance (about 2m) from my Grampa's garage door, turned the headlights on, and marked the door with chalk where the beam met. Once complete the job, the lights went back on and we're adjusted to meet the chalk markings. Haven't had a passing car flash me for the lights yet so they must be okay. Getting them checked before the MOT just to be sure though.
  14. (deleted as link didn't work, I was wrong about it) But agree fully with buying good OEM quality parts for things like this, buying cheap can be very expensive in the long, medium and even short run.
  15. My 16th June 2021 order has finally arrived at dealer and scheduled for collection next Thursday.
  16. Don’t worry, Skoda have righted their wrongs and it’s gone back to order accepted
  17. Turbo's are mostly oil lubricated and cooled, using the engine oil.
  18. OK, heard back from Satnav Systems - having told them my vin no. and specific model - they aid they can repair the unit to full functionality for £599 +VAT (with 12 month warranty), including map update with speed cameras. If it can't be repaired - they will exchange it for a genuine OEM Skoda unit for £1,199 +VAT (with 24 month warranty) - pretty much what Skoda quoted. They also offer lower cost alternative replacement units. At the moment my unit works as it should (except for not being to type any postcode that contains a 'P' - slightly annoying when we live in an 'HP' postcode), but we can work around this for now - if it gets any worse, I may get in touch with Satnav Systems again.
  19. and on checking Twitter, Maz has new upgrades to report.
  20. As above, headlights need to be on. Normal operation is headlight washers operate on first wash of windscreen and every 10th wash after.

I was wondering the same thing a couple months back when I was buying new wheels. I couldn't find any pictures for reference which made it hard. I ended up with 18x8 et40. I've attached pictures so people can see how they fit. 40 offset is still easily inside the arch. You could even go a little lower and get away with it. I think et35 would be perfect.
  25. And the fuel that is drawn from the bottom of a full tank is exactly the same as the last drops of fuel drawn from a tank when you run out of fuel the pick up pipe does not move and the water does not float above the fuel.

There have been a few posts about the MEB based VW ID. Buzz small van / people carrier, but its now been seen out and about testing, so I think its worth a thread all of it's own. Spyshots of exterior and interior here:- https://electrek.co/2022/01/27/leaked-peek-inside-the-new-vw-id-buzz-before-youre-supposed-to/ Video of it in Norway from Bjorn Nyland

There are plenty of people who have had the same issue on here 1. repair solder extend 2. replace whole loom 3. use the repair plug kit with short wires from eBay to replace the whole loom from multiplug to inside the door. Please do a search some of the threads were recent. Mine was replaced within the last few years by the dealer. Started with maxidot not seeing the door open or closed. The door locks stopped drivers and passenger followed by some of the windows inoperable. Hope you manage to sort it
  28. I changed one side before MOT( some kind person had reversed into it and made off) ,but I'd gotten tired of the short life of Halogen lamps, so changed both dip to LED. At MOT, tester had no problems with beam pattern just fact that lamps were not as per spec, so I changed them back to Halogen. Looking back a few posts, the units I got from "energized custom" were DEPO. As I've posted, I've changed both sides and have one passenger side with broken securing lugs and a driver side totally intact, and needing a good polish. The bits on the broken lamp are free to anyone needing them ( unless someone can repair the unit lugs, and then it's free to take away etc), The driver side is intact and is free to a good home ,if collected etc.

I's indeed a shame. My PC is a lot faster than min W11specs,with a decent FSB bus speed and more than double the memory needed. It lacks the TPM chip and the CPU is not compatible. But W10 is still supported till 2025(?). With the current state of the NHS ( no politics please), can I expect my health to be supported that far into the future? So do us older folks NEED W11? And then I wonder. HOW long will corporate clients wait to upgrade from W7 or W10 to W11.
  30. Most of the time, parts being sold branded as VW Group parts, like service parts at least, will also have the branding of the company that supplied them - maybe not the same as the manufacturer in all cases but in most cases, the only ones that have not had that recently, in my experience, was the air filter for the later versions of the 1.4 16V petrol engines and maybe the air filter on these 1.2TSI 16V engines, though I might be wrong about the 1.2TSI 16V engines, it is coming up for 4 years since I replaced the air filter on my wife's 2015 VW Polo and it turns out that I've bought a Mann filter element for the next service, VW Group tend to use a manufacturer that has a presence in Germany, like Mann, Mahle, Hengst or Knecht for air, pollen and oil filters.
  31. I gave my old ones away to a member on here called Hutchy who has/had a business dealing with Fabia headlights.
  32. I've just got the photos of the box with the old HELLA units inside from my for sale listing on here. They're the same boxes though.
  33. Rang every garage around. Most have new stock coming in next few weeks. I had the pick of maybe 20. Most style but I wanted sportline. Got a steal gray with 20in and vir cockpit both extras in Ireland. Waiting on price for runner and towbar and few other bits. But had choice of black red etc. Worth calling around the garages lads. I only started looking 3 days ago.
  34. What a shame, hope you can get it sorted.
  35. No need for a diagnostic, that little triangular indentation in the clamp is the detent, in order to remove the clamp you would normally have to shove a screwdriver into the plastic runner to lift it over that triangular detent.
  36. Just download the maps for free from the VW portal, unzip them and stick em on a usb or sd drive. Then upload them to your drive unit.

@Gomezz Best call back and ask whoever if they want to phone a friend. Who was this that called you? A Service desk receptionist with phone and keyboard skills and not the sense to check with a Tech? Is it for your 2.TDI SEL 4x4 DSG? If so they are totally wrong as it needs serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations.. I WOULD SPEAK WITH THE DEALER PRINCIPAL AS THEY NEED TO ARRANGE STAFF TRAINING BEFORE THEY MIGHT VOID A VEHICLES WARRANTY. Your 7 speed is not a Twin Dry Clutch DSG which does not require Oil Changes. How many miles on your Karoq, what age? Haldex 4x4 Oil due at 3 years / 30,000 miles, & DSG @ 40,000 miles unless they tell you yours is a DQ381 and it is at 80,000 miles , if they can decide on that. I would stick with @ 40,000 miles.
  38. Safer bet to get me to fix his original or send him an exchange pre-fixed one these days @Bertie90 (since I figured out how); and generally cheaper. They don't often come up that cheap, and most ebay sellers won't know how to test them thoroughly.
  39. The other side is fine and the adjuster sitting vertically as it should.Took percussive maintenance to get the wheel bolts off. Tried my torque wrench at its max 110 ft lbs and it just clicked. See someone posting tightening torque is 85 ft lbs so will go for that on refit. Eventually found a robust ex Audi toolkit wheel bolt tube spanner effort and gave it a good belt after jumping up and down on it failed. Theyve only been on a couple of months so the rattle gun strikes again I reckon. The locking bolt creaked noisily but came off to my relief. Thanks for help and advice.

Yes, standard retarded answer. Importer tells you to contact the dealer, dealer gets no info from importer so they put you into an endless loop. Always the same excuse about the chip shortage, WE KNOW. Still other countries get production dates, even if they don't meet them. Some even get cars. I guess we are a piece of **** country, that don't deserve their time.
  41. Apologies, I tend to forget Chademo as I'm looking as a CCS owner. Yes, Gridserve (and everyone else to be fair) have reduced access to Chademo plugs. The same has been levelled at them over AC only cars such as earlier Zoes. They are in a unique position here replacing and upgrading a legacy network - they have to maintain a service.
  42. Well I don't quite agree. Replacing the unreliable Ecotricity chargers is a quick win, providing the same level of charging facility but more reliably can be done rapidly - over 100 service areas done in 6 months is good going. To build hubs needs planning permissions, new grid connections, agreement of the land owner and so on - all of which take time. I think we are seeing the ramp up in chargers now just with the sheer number of hubs Gridserve intend to build. I'm sure getting the chargers at the two locations you need working is better than you waiting 12 months for a hub to be built there? https://www.gridserve.com/2021/12/09/biggest-motorway-ev-charging-upgrade-in-uk-history-underway-with-11-new-ultra-high-power-electric-hubs-in-construction-plus-world-first-electric-forecourt-at-gatwick-airport/ As an aside on the Welcome Break pause in the roll-out, I think this was caused by the Competition and Markets Authority's look at UK charging at MSAs. Gridserve has given an assurance it will not enforce and exclusivity deal it has to avoid an full on investigation. rumour has it the Welcome Break will use this to install it's own branded chargers IN ADDITION to anything Gridserve do. Instavolt are also moving onto MSAs through it's tie up with Costa. Its coming and I think by the end of this year things will be much improved.
  43. Maz's map is really useful and he updates regularly. He announces updates via Twitter (@EpicWinningMaz). South Mimms and London Gateway are both Welcome Break MSAs, so the upgrade has been delayed. The out of service chargers are the old Ecotricity Electric Highway chargers, not run by Gridserve. Hopefully these will happen soon for you now Gridserve and Welcome Break have ironed out whatever was holding up the charger upgrades.
  44. If the car is wallowing and grounding occasionally, then there is also possibility that it is : overloaded tyre pressures wrong have damaged spring or damper shock absorbers need replacing wallowing is soft springs, the Superb is specified more as a limo than a sports car (Sportline trim is a look, doesn’t mean gets sports car handling) If DCC is not fitted, then sport mode only really changes gearbox change up points, has no effect on suspension
  45. Servicing for these units (either front VAQ or rear Haldex) is not listed in the main schedules, its under the ambiguous title of "Country-specific additional work dependent on time & mileage".....& is stated as simply "Every three years".. You can remove the VAQ unit, get the correct driveshafts & code out the module..& then remove the existing open diff in the gearbox & fit a proper LSD (wavetrak)....& save weight, servicing & have more predictable handling... Loads on info in this thread on such a conversion Swapping a Wavetrac LSD into a VAQ Equipped car | GOLFMK7 - VW GTI MKVII Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW Golf MKVII Forum
  46. Surely, part of the certificate's usefulness is the mileage readout, showing not just the current value, but how it has been driven over the vehicle timeline - has it done 40k in the first year for example as a hire car, then settled down to 8k a year afterwards Hopefully people will find it useful and Skoda can build in extra functionality as well, drawing information from the digital service schedules too
  47. We are going off tangent here the OP just wants some advice on why his twincharger is missfiring , it has absolutely nothing to do with oil it’s to do with how a combustion engine works it can’t get anymore simple it’s either spark plugs are on the way out or not gapped correctly coil packs or coil pack wiring is on the way out fuel pump & or injectors & or fuel filter is on the way out fuel has absolutely no sway on this issue these cars can and do run on lower octane fuel , different countries I.e turkey & Greece don’t even have 95 octane and still run
  48. Buy the best batteries you can, kessy eats batteries as it sends a ping scanning for car in proximity, cheap batteries will only last few weeks, premium ones last nearer 12-15 months Old style push the button to activate key fobs, had batteries that last years
