Another update…I just got today email from the dealer “car is on it’s way to Slovenia from CZ” 🎉🎉🎉
  4. Sold my car over a year last October due to a motor bike accident nearly three years ago that prevents me driving a manual. Started driving a year ago, the wife's Mokka X 1.4 turbo. Anyway have now ordered a new Volvo XC90 Ultimate plug in hybrid in Crystal White with charcoal interior, which can take my disabled kit. I would have gone for the hybrid Kodiaq that was coming at one point and then wasn't, was very disappointed with Skoda on that one but the bean counters got their way. So I ordered an XC60 and promptly changed that to the XC90 because of the boot size when seats 6&7 were folded down Will still pop in now and again if nothing else than to be amused by some of the posts and maybe add a comment or two. Anyway best of luck everybody and stay safe.
  5. If it's rear and left (like this picture) it'll be the exhaust. Which, if I'm right in saying, has an outer shell type thing and another inner layer.

Hey hello hoi Bought my first Skoda, and its a station/combi/estate. In 2009 we bought daihatsu cuore from the dealer. We had it untill 3 months ago and it had +-360.000km on it. Now we have a little me, 12 weeks old son. So the cuore has not alot of space within the car. Time for a new car. We spend around 2 months searching for a new car. Our top 5 cars; Skoda fabia mk1 or mk2 5door hatchback Opel astra 2008/2012 5door hatchback Mitsubishi colt 2008/2012 5door hatchback Ford fiesta 2008/2012 5door Honda jazz 2008/2012 5door They needed to have 5 option to be buyable. 130.000km or less €4500 or less Airconditioning Cruisecontrol Isofix for the babyseats My wifey found me a colt at this car occasions shop. After looking at it, it was a little more than our budget had to offer. It was on a sunday so we looked around to soo other cars and found this fabia combi. For €3800, 99.745km, cruisectrl, Airconditioning and isofix. At first i thought, daimnnn am i at this part of life that i am buying a combi/station/estate? After first testdrive, i felt good about the 1.4 acceleration. But also having in mind that a am 203cm tall and my knee was right in between of the radio and streringwheel. Not a good thing to have a painfull knee while riding.. Second testdrive i found out the setup of the steringwheel and driverseat could be changed. What a lifesaver, what a space!! So we wanted to buy thos 2007 skoda fabia combi. Im not a good nagotiator so that part was for my wifey! Why this forum? I am member to learn more about this car and how i can improve the car and handling. Hope to learn alot!
  7. It was my fault I thought it was an issue with the single seat so had it out and back in 3 times but it was in fact the double seat sitting back to far as I had not located it in the central spigot correctly 🙄

I have really bad news, yesterday i was by my car dealer and he told me some bad informations. My car was built 14.2.2022 and i have already VIN number. First he told me that car must be finish in 3 months when car get VIN number, but now when every week i get information, when car will be finish and date move "+ 1 week". So my car must be finish till 15.5.2022 but this will not heppend. I write really hard email and tell that i want informations not lies and deceiving. Then dealer forwarded this email to supplier in Slovenia and he told him sorry we don't have informations car must be finish till and of Avgust and this is still not confirmed so again 3 months delay they are stu... and i was realy angrey. So i screamed to dealer that i want accurate date, when car will be finish and that this car is not anymore new, because is parked space on bad wahter more than 3 months on parking space and they must give to me aditional discount. He also write another email to supplier and tell that customer want date and informations, because have problems and cost with old car. Now i wait to answer. I wrote another email directly to Škoda and I am also waiting for a response there. So colleagues when you get VIN this means nothing, Škoda parked car on parking and they lets you wait and always 3 months delay and delay and delay. So if this is true waiting time is 17 months for Octavia. So i think that we will not get our cars in 2022 i speak about Škoda octavia (limousines are problematic) 😞 😢 Can i ask if someone got Škoda from 1.3.2022 till today? If someone got car, write car informations.
  10. Oh yes.. what it looks like on a Seat 😂 It swaps in the Seat part number 🙂
  11. Sorted the rear seat thing all nice and flush now.

So far that I know of in this chunk of work: gearbox out, replace rear main seal, replace clutch slave, remake leaking clutch line, replace all gearbox input and output seals, replace leaking rear diff seals, repair wobbly gear linkage, replace gearbox output shaft bearing, new clutch friction disc and bearing, machine flywheel, rebuild pressure plate, wheel alignment, fix various wiring issues, new dizzy cap, remake main coil lead, check timing, troubleshoot and fix firing issue, remake leaking low pressure power steering line. Oh yeah and welding that mount. Probably more stuff. I could have bought a nice reliable older Suzuki Swift for what the bill will be.

I don't think you were really 'hypermiling' @willwn , from what I read all you did was what I regard as sensible driving. I think the term hypermiling originates from the US where protagonists will do absolutely anything to get ultimate consumption, and consequently drive inconsiderately and unsafely resulting in a terrible reputation with other road users. There are a few factors that would have contributed to your excellent consumption: It was a longer journey and most it was conducted on a free-flowing road which is always a good contributor. You 'sacrificed' 5 mph off your permissible speed which probably meant the automatic systems you employed were able to work more smoothly without excessive surging or braking, while integrating with the traffic. It is five years since I drove on UK motorways but the usually high level of traffic means a lot of unintentional drafting which helps a lot Your driving decisions meant your 1.5tsi engine would have been able to make high use of its highly efficient two cylinder mode and that requires at least 1500 rpm and low torque demand. A comfortable ambient 18 deg C temperature meant the aircon would have done little or no work and the radio has no perceptible effect on consumption, unless you play heavy metal Considering your average consumption included the 10 miles out of London then you must have been getting over 70mpg on the motorway. It is fairly easy to get good consumption in those conditions, there is little difference in consumption ( 8 year old 1.4tsi) whether my wife or I drive on the open road, however I can get 30% better consumption than she does in urban driving. I can get 60mpg or better driving off-peak on our urban roads with 50% 'luck' at traffic lights and with due regard to other road users. In heavy peak periods I hope to better 40mpg, but in our hot summer weather with aircon at full blast then it will drop down to 35 mpg. There are a lot of positives to sensible driving, reduced costs, improved safety, nice green feeling, a small poke in Putin's eye and all for probably less than an extra 5 minutes on your journey.

That's the sort of crime that would probably get you toad in the UK..... 😇
  15. Hi Guys, I live in the Northwest - Wigan to be precise (no jokes on pies, I'm officially a Boltoner) I have been lerking for around a week, now's the time to post some pics and say hello my wife managed to get some photos of the car on a day out without kids and picnic blankets rocking the background. I am well and truly settled into the grown up life of cars, its been a rough patch but im back. i was always into French cars as a teenager, pug 106, 205 gti, saxo vtr previously owned cars (all of which i was a happy and active forum user) then i found Japanese cars i finished my car hobby with a starlet GT turbo heavily modified with good old Japanese imported parts, but choose a future with a good women and back burned the car hobby when i dropped a gearbox (13 years ago!!) since then all cheap run to the grounders: ford fiesta - 200 quid as we had a holiday booked when the gt turbo died, this thing lasted ages, didn't lock it, mole grips to fasten windows.haha Toyota Yaris - this thing didn't beat an eyelid, never went to garage other than service and MOT, my 2 kids grew up into toddlers with this car Vauxhall Zafaria VXR - long story short, i pined for some sort of car again, wife reluctantly let me get a new car, nowt wrong with the Yaris mind, i wanted a mk5 golf gti but we needed bigger for family days out, this lasted 1 week, turbo and head blew, empty of oil on purchase, i had my blinkers on!! i was done over by a trader in Oldham, following threats etc, I dropped it, i paid for that car for 2 years while getting the bus to work at a hospital. nearly cost my marriage. sold as scrap to a performance specialist and believe it soon became body for there company performance car,400hp i am led to believe as we kept in touch. lancer 1.6 - coilpacks went but had no "buffer" money left so scrapped then i found the VAG scene - Audi A4 b7, absolutely loved it, 3 years she lasted, exhaust mods, mapped, roof bars, lowered etc i have found my true love of german cars, plus i had to stick to VAG as i had coughed up for VCDS/Rosstech.haha So last week the Audis oil pump gave up, she was weathered anyway and her time was up, i was ready for another stand in cheap car, and maybe cycling to work again, the wife knew i had always wanted a vRS but had swallowed the idea, for my kids and wife come first, so here we are, an early birthday present(although i pay the loan.haha) no hassle from the wife, let her help me go look at it, picked it up together etc, think she likes it more than i do, perfect combination of performance, mahoooosive boot for kids days out, we enjoy Hiking in the Lakes and i am completely sure we could sleep in the back!!, comfort and style. i still cant stop looking out my window, i have effectively a dream car on my drive, and pray that all goes well and smooth, issue free driving all my cars get named: meet Vanesa the vRS
  16. I was fretting so had to go and take photos then searched the site. Yep it looks like the outer skin of my back box is peeling! Panic over - I think! Just wasn't nice to see something parting company!

  18. Oh, progress, excellent! I will think about next step tomorrow morning. Does the AC have known amount of refrigerant in (recent regas?).
  19. I'm thinking of adding loom repair to my window motor repair service so I would do you a very cheap rate for a repair if you like. PM if interested.

3 years of my MPG by month. Folk might find useful?
  21. No lower boot floor I'm the 7 seat 2022 Sportline which was in my 2018 Edition. That was handy in keeping things clear of the spare tyre and also hiding things in the tyre well

Thank you for such detailed info. You must be furious as you ordered in March 21 yet still nothing - or even worse, car is made and parked in the open. I also fear that the same scenario will happen to me as the next week will pass by and will receive nothing but pushbacks. I also heard the story from the dealer that Skoda makes the effort to finish the already built cars asap, but that’s just another story and speculation imo. They don’t know what else to say as Skoda also doesn’t provide much info… Please keep us posted if you receive some new answers (O bet Skoda’s will be just another generic one, if you receive it at all).
  23. Hi @Gerrycan all is okay, life is just being a bit of a dose the last couple of weeks, with spud jr waking during the night -makes getting up early for a run a non- runner (pun intended.) and evenings. . for some reason its getting later when the 2 spuds are in beds and i mught get out, but its then getting too late - near 9pm starting a run up a big hill... its not ideal. but i have been out - did a new route the other night that i did something odd on - i drove to a start point. its a route i spotted while looking at the strava maps through a forest block on a mountain side up to a small lake. irs lovely up there, so lovely i left my head phones out on the way back down and just listened to nature. being fully off road it feels more natural and calm up there. and a decent climb the whole way up too... isolated, eerie, calm, half waiting for the lady of the water to come back and tempt into the water (bit of irish folklore on that )
  24. I start getting cold air within a few seconds of starting the engine on my 1.4 TSI and it was the same on my 1.9 TDI. I recently had it regassed as there was no record of it being done before.
  25. @LongWait Maybe post a picture. Dealership Service Desk staff like upselling & workshop staff assist with what they write on the service sheet. Why have you been advised to replace these scored discs, have the pads been wrecked? 'Apparently' is the issue. Have you been given an estimation of how worn the pads are, or the discs are? Dealerships are often advising replacing scored discs but if you were to trade your car in to them for another then likely the next owner would receive the car with the discs on it now. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/472653-rear-discs http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/499193-70-plate-kodiaq-rear-discs-and-pads-needed-do-you-think-this-is-reasonable-replacement-discs-pads
  26. How did you manage to sort it?
  27. Try swapping the unused one in position 6 (no wire attached) to position 3 if you want to be sure. Might be a 50A instead of 40A rated, but will prove the point. Don't replace non-faulty parts, waste of time and money. Not sure about your coolant level observations. One thing at a time.
  28. The relay clicking means that the signal from the thermoswitch is getting through, energising the relay coil correctly. The lack of full speed action from the fan could be due to the strip fuse being cracked/broken/blown, or the relay inside the fan module having burnt-out contacts, or one of the wires involved (from strip fuse to fan module, or fan module to fan) being broken. Can you post a photo of your battery fuse panel?
  29. I'd start by disconnecting your dashcam to rule that out?
  30. The kangerooing was just a 1.5 TSI thing and if the car has had the software update and it worked there should be no issue so you need a long road test. As to FSH. A Full Service History needs the full servicing and maintenance to the Manufacturers Recommendations / Guidelines, even use the word Schedule. A history if Minor / interim & Major services and Oil & Filter / Inspection services does not mean that the brake fluid was changed at 3 years or spark plugs at 40,000 or any other stuff so be aware of checking what was done even with a FMDSH. Even Skoda Approved Used Cars that come with a Skoda Used Car Warranty might not have been serviced to the recommendations / guidelines. Maybe best give the 1.6TDI a miss unless you really want a diesel.
  31. I see Skoda have sorted out their unzipping issue with this release on 7zip. All signatures correspond as well between the VW and Skoda release before anybody says they are different releases.
  32. You have a picture of a wrong type of module at the top of your pictures, why?
  33. Hi

Greetings! Just joined today having recently become the owner of a 2015 DSG Octavia Scout. Just done a 'maiden voyage' 500 mile round trip in it and loved every minute of it! Cheers TubbyWadlow
  34. You’d need to ask Mrs R, it’s like Mary Poppins bag. Everything to cover any eventuality when we’ve got the grandkids magically comes out of that glovebox
  35. haha r line is better than a sportline kodiaq Tiguan R is better looking than a VRS
  36. Thanks! it’s 95ps has has 37000 miles. I don’t know about the spark plugs or air filter, though it it has been regularly serviced. I’ve just bought it from cinch and will ask if they can have any details.
  37. Welcome. What country are you in? Toyota are the ones with over a decades experience of self charge hybrids and have addressed and sorted issues promptly over the years and are not still messing about having snagging faults with hardware and software like Skoda are with mild hybrids, plug ins and even just pure ICE Mk4 Octavia.

this kind of color maybe on a small city car, but on a sw i'm pretty sure you ll hate it really fast second reselling value would be lower than a grey/white/black car and much harder to find a buyer
  39. Engine temperature has nothing to do with the performance of the climatronic, and the coolness of the air. The compressor is running when the engine is running and the climatronic's A/C function is turned on. If there is enough gas on the system, you should have baltic cold air within 30-60 seconds of starting the engine.
  40. MartiniB eagle eyes reported on Seat side this... New "AS" maps V16 2023 https://vw-maps-cdn.lighthouselabs.eu/vw-maps/DiscoverMedia2_EU-AS_1910_V16.7z or https://navigation-maps.volkswagen.com/vw-maps/DiscoverMedia2_EU-AS_1910_V16.7z So we are off now on the June updates a month early. I see they had your 197 high release. Test them tomorrow.
  41. My Cupra had same engine, the 280ps EA888. "only" 320bhp after the remap, but prodigious torque, it was too much tbh. It was great for overtaking anything anywhere, but it wasn't fun to drive as it was just too fast / too much grip for public roads. I think a 350+bhp Superb is a brilliant idea, but I can't live with the fuel eco given my business mileage. The 220 will remap to 300bhp / 450Nm on a generic S1 which is more than enough, and since I partially fixed the woeful dampers I'd actually be able to make some use of the extra power. No hurry to do it, It's a keeper and I need it to last beyond 100k
  42. Get rid, it's what I did. I got more than I paid for mine by selling to another Skoda dealer.
  43. I'm with you. The 280 Superb is a great Q car. More than quick as standard & is bordering on being a hooligan with a stage 1 remap - Revo in my case. Like you I don't rag mine at every given opportunity but I do like surprising the odd boy racer now & again. I got mine used at 2.5 years old & half it's new price & plan to keep it a while. I'm retired now so my annual mileage is low, 5-6k miles a year at best so the 280 is aging like a fine wine. Like you I think the 280 will become a desirable classic in time.

The dealer told me the car is ready and have vin early march. The status was the same until that Monday, when they told me that the car arrived in the dealership.
  45. First* thing I did with my 2022 model was to put in the umbrella I kept from my old Kodiaq, along with the boot nets. Don't keep anything in the glove box that rattles, so couldn't care less about that. *Wasn't really the first thing...
  46. Just ordered a RaceChip XLR pedal Box for our Karoq 1.5TSi DSG 4x4. Been discussing the pros & cons of Pedal Boxes vs DSG remaps over on the Superb forum when it struck me that a Pedal Box could be the answer to the positively biblical delay between pressing the accelerator & anything happening under the bonnet on my wife's Karoq. Now I know coming from my 280 Superb into a 1.5 Karoq is not a fair comparison but even so the Karoq does have a very lethargic off the line delay which I suspect has a lot to do with the fix Skoda had to apply to smooth out & cure the Kangarooing problems the early cars had. Either way the pedal box should sharpen up the throttle response & make it much easier to drive for my wife & me when I drive it. I did look at a DTUK/DTE pedal box as well but that was £40 more expensive. The proof will be in the pudding so I'll report back in a few days after it arrives & I get time to fit it.
  47. Congratulations! If you're only half as pleased as I am, that will still be quite something.
  48. Went out to Bayham Abbey this afternoon looking for inner peace after a crap week dealing with planning. Creative juices didn’t flow, all I could see was a pile of rubble!
  49. Gave to old girl a birthday clean this weekend. 20 years old and still slaying the Mustangs.
