Hi Guys,
I live in the Northwest - Wigan to be precise (no jokes on pies, I'm officially a Boltoner)
I have been lerking for around a week, now's the time to post some pics and say hello
my wife managed to get some photos of the car on a day out without kids and picnic blankets rocking the background.
I am well and truly settled into the grown up life of cars, its been a rough patch but im back.
i was always into French cars as a teenager, pug 106, 205 gti, saxo vtr previously owned cars (all of which i was a happy and active forum user)
then i found Japanese cars i finished my car hobby with a starlet GT turbo heavily modified with good old Japanese imported parts, but choose a future with a good women and back burned the car hobby when i dropped a gearbox (13 years ago!!)
since then all cheap run to the grounders:
ford fiesta - 200 quid as we had a holiday booked when the gt turbo died, this thing lasted ages, didn't lock it, mole grips to fasten windows.haha
Toyota Yaris - this thing didn't beat an eyelid, never went to garage other than service and MOT, my 2 kids grew up into toddlers with this car
Vauxhall Zafaria VXR - long story short, i pined for some sort of car again, wife reluctantly let me get a new car, nowt wrong with the Yaris mind, i wanted a mk5 golf gti but we needed bigger for family days out, this lasted 1 week, turbo and head blew, empty of oil on purchase, i had my blinkers on!! i was done over by a trader in Oldham, following threats etc, I dropped it, i paid for that car for 2 years while getting the bus to work at a hospital. nearly cost my marriage. sold as scrap to a performance specialist and believe it soon became body for there company performance car,400hp i am led to believe as we kept in touch.
lancer 1.6 - coilpacks went but had no "buffer" money left so scrapped
then i found the VAG scene - Audi A4 b7, absolutely loved it, 3 years she lasted, exhaust mods, mapped, roof bars, lowered etc i have found my true love of german cars, plus i had to stick to VAG as i had coughed up for VCDS/Rosstech.haha
So last week the Audis oil pump gave up, she was weathered anyway and her time was up, i was ready for another stand in cheap car, and maybe cycling to work again, the wife knew i had always wanted a vRS but had swallowed the idea, for my kids and wife come first, so here we are, an early birthday present(although i pay the loan.haha) no hassle from the wife, let her help me go look at it, picked it up together etc, think she likes it more than i do, perfect combination of performance, mahoooosive boot for kids days out, we enjoy Hiking in the Lakes and i am completely sure we could sleep in the back!!, comfort and style. i still cant stop looking out my window, i have effectively a dream car on my drive, and pray that all goes well and smooth, issue free driving
all my cars get named: meet Vanesa the vRS
