So went to the dealer yesterday and the car is now in the UK and will be at the dealer on 18th with a view of collecting it on Thursday 21st July, my fingers are crossed.

  3. Pre-cat is what the ECU relies on for closed loop running, post-cat is for emissions only, pre-cat is generally a wide band probe on most 16V engines.

Can we get a little help? Which parking lot is that? - up to 12 month old orders - between 12-15 month old orders - more than 15 month old orders 😅😁😅

Yesterday I got the first piece of actual info: my car has a VIN (I never had a provisional build-week from my dealer). According to the dealer there's no complete-build status in the system, but she said the good news is that the car will not go into "banking" waiting for components - apparently they can see that in the system. I really wasn't expecting any news, since it's been only 11 months since I placed the order. BTW: I checked the VIN in MySkoda App and I got the error message, so it's probably too soon.

My Car was Completed on the 28th Aug, it was in Grimsby port by the 5th July and was today 13 July delivered to the dealer in Sheffield. I am picking it up Tomorrow afternoon. So my long wait is finally over and once the car was completed everything moved very quickly. Just hoping I like the car now hopefully more of you start to get deliveries over the coming Month.
  7. Been a little while since I produced a post, but I've been busy with work and other life ****e yadda yadda yadda and the car has become a backburner type deal. Okay, I've got the excuses out of the way, time to actually get onto the important ****. To bring you all up to speed in small segments... Part One of Suffering: Brake Servo Hose The split brake servo hose that I masterfully taped up was constantly playing on my mind (what if it went etc etc etc), so I bought another one using my staff discount at the parts place that the work owns. Figuring out how to change this was rather confusing for such a simple part. A chain of PMs between @Breezy_Pete and I eventually cleared up the questions and fears I had about diving into this. Big thanks to him though. Now have a hose without red insulating tape on it. No longer fully matches the car, but ach well, safety and that. Part Two of Suffering: Stereo Replacement I blew up the old Sony stereo I had. That was daft. Didn't mean it though! Anyway, after accidentally making a blood brothers pact with the stereo cage that made it look like I'd got into a fight with a cheese grater, I had a car stereo with functional CD changer again! Wooooooo!! Now I can have Jesus Jones with the fantabulous autoreverse as well! Part Three of Suffering: Death Wobble The death wobble over 55mph was doing my head in, especially on longer trips as my hands would get really sore from clenching the wheel or the continuous vibration. To rectify this, wheel balancing was more than a must, it was a ****ing necessity. So that got done. I opted to check if the car needed tracking, and the garage checked, but honestly it's not bad enough, so that's fine. Part Four of Suffering: The Immediate Future At the time of writing, I have received a post-cat lambda sensor in the post and I'm trying to figure out where the hell the MAP sensor I ordered is, as I haven't got it. I'm seeing something variable between about 31mpg and 42mpg on longer trips, it's weird and costly. Got some trips coming up, so it's getting used quite a bit too. How exciting! Still got more to do, including procuring some front tyres as the tread is getting to where it's almost lower than I'm comfortable with. Part Five of Suffering: The Distant-but-not-too Distant Future I don't know the long-term for this car yet. I know that something will be incoming at some point this year, so that may mean the Fabia is gawn oot of the household, but there's a few things needs done with the incoming vehicle before I take it on (which the current owner is rectifying). It's non-Skoda, so sorry to disappoint. In an ideal world, the Fabia will be staying though. Even if only on limited use or something. Part Six of Suffering: Overall Conclusion Yes. Progress is finally happening. Got some more things to do still. 'Nuff said, eh?
  8. Europe's most powerful electric vehicle charging hub (allegedly) 10 x 350kw, 12 Tesla v3, 22 x 22 kw AC, nice for Zoes and easy upscaling due to its ultra high connection to grid and massive battery storage.....

I've got a challenge for you. Go search for my mamba green According to my dealer, it should only work when the car is in one piece. Mine worked early this week. No news still about it being delivered.

Got a challenge for those who are waiting: Can you find your car?
  12. You and your posh autoreverse cassette malarkey. Only the latest tech for you
  13. Romanian wheeled white goods update. 8000km done and it's still just OK, fingers crossed it remains free of the UK market reliability woes, but after 10 months it's clear that I prefer my ancient Seat Toledo (née Rapid) 1.0 TSI. The engine, handling, and especially the perceived quality are all superior in the old-tech VW product. And both cost me the same brand new, so Dacias volume models dont now seem so cheap really. The saving grace for the Dacia is the price of LPG, 50p a litre with the Spanish Government fuel rebate until the end of the year.
  14. I don't think that's true as there are separate TPI's and updates for the screen and MIB2 units. I can also confirm I had no issues with the 0480 update in my car, the screen was running 8130 both before and after the 0480 update Example TPI are below showing the differing updates. TPI 2049708/1 (14-Dec-2017) covers a screen update. TPI 2049459/14 (05-Oct-2021) covers the MIB2 update. 15. You don't need the thermo controlled flap at all. I took mine out altogether. Now it just takes in cool air from the front of the car as I blocked up the hot air hole to stop the engine taking in warm air from the engine bay. If your mate has a cone filter his engine will be taking in the warm air from the engine bay, which I guess doesn't matter a great deal but I don't think it's ideal.
  16. Just checked now, looks alright?

i was told the same on last tuesday. ,that car was on its way and should be at the dealers no later than 22 july but after pdi it could be 29 july.at least there light at the end of this very very long tunnel.I HOPE
  18. Whilst excellent to see so many chargers at a single location, making queuing or broken charger a thing of past...... for a while...... If the location for more of these going to be is more dictated by grid connections, instead of road connections....... I would prefer if trunk road services stepped up and get half the car park filled with rapid chargers.
  19. As @sepulchrave says. Also, make sure you are actually using a genuine VAG coil assembly.
  20. email yesterday car will be with supplier 3 September so hopefully will be delivered few weeks from that date
  21. No, it won't work properly, just replace yours if it's faulty otherwise don't bother.
  22. Have you checked cabin fuse number 7 (5 Amp)? And strip fuse number 5 (50 amp) above the battery? For the price of about 10 litres of diesel you could equip yourself with the necessary KKL cable and download freeware VCDS Lite, if you have a windows laptop.
  23. I already sent link for downloading MHI2_ER_SKG13_P4526 (1440) via PM. Firmware update was NEVER possible via OTD in this unit (Columbus MIB2.5), the message simply means your Skoda Online Services are not valid anymore - your subscription expired.
  24. You can update the firmware from MSTD_EU_SK_P3420 (0435) to MSTD_EU_SK_P6230 (0490) Maps answered above by @FrankNicklin
  25. I fitted the new front discs and pads yesterday they all fit on well and a big difference in the braking. I used red rubber grease and re greased the slider guides big difference the car stops in a straight line. I also cleaned the caliper and carriors with wire brush and screw divers flat ones. This is to remove dirt, brake dust and old metal to stop any going on the new brakes effecting them or getting between any parts. It's well worth cleaning up a bit and doing the red rubber grease as with age needs doing. I did buy a 21 kit brake caliper rewind kit it makes it so much easier to do the job now no messing about. The old pads were very low and old discs warn a bit to so had to rewind both brake calipers back a lot. This is where the brake caliper rewind kit saves a lot of time and messing about.
  26. Use the existing LED +ve to switch a relay or transistor that drives the extra LED, take power from the 12V supply.
  27. I got the green plastic clips they work great holding the door card on. The rivets I decided to use my own slightly smaller so drilled holes next to the bigger ones already there. So I just filled silicon in the old bigger holes. I just thought I got a big box of rivets 300 to 500 may as well get use out of them and it works fine.
  28. Its a Google pixel 3A (they are up to the 6's now I think) I bought a cable but it cozied up to AA straight away and no disconnects until the one I mentioned, which may have been all the radio traffic around the surgery.
  29. I'm sure you meant to type 10 miles per litre there, which is 16km.

Ask dealer for update, don’t wait for them to call you, ask them for current status so they have to look it up, some will be lazy and just waffle : sorry, no update. Regarding service on current car, it is generally your problem to get it done and paid for it, the normal assumption being it will defer the service due dates on new car instead (due to later commencement date), so long term averages out. However as the old saying goes if you don’t ask you don’t get, so why not push for a free service due to delay, and only if the agree, ask them to do it on current car rather than new one, if they have agreed to do one anyway.
  32. The dash displays liters per kilometers or kilometers per liter. It's different than the ones you have in Europe. Currently it's around 30 degrees Celsius. I use 95 octane fuel. We also have 98. Would it make any difference? I have checked local forums, and people around here also get around 10 kilometers per liter. Some more some less.
  33. The pre-cat only helps by accelerating the warm-up phase. Theoretically, with a properly warmed-up engine, there should be no difference but I don't know the nuances of the whole operation, whether there are differences in lambda probes part numbers, ECU values, etc. I give my car a good ol' Italian tune-up before going in (just to make sure its cats are up to temp) and it passes with flying colours.
  34. I've looked from the above and there you can see two parts of the windowl and probably vinyl like material between them.

Sure, let them make an example of me. I don't care anymore. If anything, I will be happy if they cancel my order ASAP. They should have done it long before. Turds.

Hi everyone, I have waited very patiently from ordering a new 1.0 estate SE Tech. on 31st July 2021, read the forums , sympathised and had the same frustrations as everyone else has had. I just decided to grin and bear it, didn't call the dealer, he didn't call me and that is how we left things. the car was for my wife and she was equally patient, unusually so for her. She had a Renault Clio on a PCP deal which was due to finish on 4th July and there was a bit of a quiet concern as to what was going to happen. As it was we got a final value to purchase her Clio for £5374. We paid the amount and sold it on to a dealer for £8900. When we settled wit Renault Finance we had a residual of £3525. We are collecting the new Octavia tomorrow having secured a very god PCH deal back in July21. All in all things have not turned out too bad for us. I hope that those of you that are still waiting will not have to wait very much longer. Keep your spirits up, everything will work out just fine. I don't see much point in visiting the forum again but I wish you all well,
  40. Everything is in order! Canton, Side assist, soundproofing windows + Ergo seats that I have NOT ordered 😃
  41. I have exactly the same noise you describe and above 30mph. It's been like this for a couple of years now. Mine is defo coming from the OSR and initially I thought it was a wheel bearing but recently I discovered my OSR caliper is binding slightly due to a seized caliper piston. I'm just about to replace the caliper so I'll report back if the noise disappears once replaced? I have a feeling the slight bind is what's causing the 'mooing' noise?

I think the new FIA president didn't appreciate being challenged or ignored by the drivers or teams immediately after his appointment. I mean, he had a massive strop and threatened to ban Hamilton from racing for not attending the FIA prizegiving. He also didnt like the teams forcing the sacking of race director Masi. Its clear to me where these clampdowns on trivial rules are coming from. The head shed, whose name I forget since he's not remotely as famous in motorsports as Balestre, Moseley or Todt.
  44. @R_Blue @J.R. If you're prepared for some proper redneck engineering then you can boost almost any carb with a pressure cooker stolen from mums cabinet. You just cut holes for the carb to sit at the bottom and drill holes for the linkages, bolt the unholy contraption to your intake and hope your float and needle valve hold on to dear life as you try to cram 50psi down the throat of a poor chinese Weber clone. It "works" for a while, but isn't definitely something I'd like to take on the road. Mate of mine did this kind of setup on his Opel Ascona C ice ring racer. It held on long enough for him to flip the car on a dirt road
  45. I'm going back to a mark 7 Golf GTI. I had one before and loved it, as did my wife. Our toddler daughter no longer requires half of the contents of our house when travelling so the tardis boot is never full anymore! I will miss the ability to look at almost any object and say, "Yes. That will fit in the car!"

Dear colleagues after 68 week my Škoda Octavia RS finally arrive. 🥳🥳🥂 pictures from the salon, waiting to be picked up:
  47. Woo woo noise... is it the police?
  48. I have had this go on mine (airbag light on). As someone has said above, the wiring in the door panel becomes brittle and breaks with age, especially in hot/cold climates’. We get -28C to +28C and it plays havoc on door looms. (within the door and at the point where it goes across the door to the front wing panel). Mine is a 2010 car and loom broke bang on a decade. Happened on my wife's Lupo back in the day too. Its easy to fix (door disassembly aside) as it is a plug in/plug out bit of the loom. Good luck with it.
