  8. @SkOmk4, My answer in line: 1. All the Release Active DTCs will be present only on the SFD locked modules. The reason why the DTC is still present on that module is that you forgot cu SFD Lock the module after coding. The correct "procedure" to do some coding is: a. Open the Hood (to bypass car firewall) b.Check for previous DTCs before do any coding c.SFD Unlock the module you what to code d. Do the coding d. SFD Lock the module back e. Check for DTCs 2. Backup of whole cars/modules is a MANADATORY step (prerequisites) before start playing around with OBD11 dongle. The saved backup is the only one that can save you if something goes wrong, apart from a visit to your dealer. 3. Like I mentioned in my previous message, try to forget about the built-in OCA, and do the coding manually. If you mess something up(sometimes it can happened due to some parameters in German), just check the History section on that module and revert/rollback your changes. Hopefully this is useful for others too!

  11. Dash and carpets are now out of the vrs Noticed the wiring on the fuel pumps are different. Might be able to just swap the tops but might swap the entire tank, not sure. Kind of crazy how dirty the sdi is inside as a result of being a farm car for so long.
  12. erWin Skoda, you can download your workshop repair manuals, this information lives in wiring diagrams. EDIT: Forgot to say, it costs 7 Euros roughly for the 1hr of access you will need.
  13. Thanks! This is just a fragment from the manual, which I did use to find out, why my trunk stopped to open. But by some reason the table with fuse destinations and their positions doesn't have a column with fuse types. So it works well only when your fuse is still in place 🤣 Thank you so much, @varooom! You've saved my life. Is this information available only in special service documentation?
  14. Yeah but how many days of rain have you had in 2 months, JR?
  15. Please tell us exactly what tow bar has been fitted including details about what wiring kits have been fitted. When you say he has the 'correct scanner' what do you mean by this? What diagnostic tool is he using - if any? Do you have a copy of the fault codes at all? What coding has already been carried out?
  16. Pretty sure mine come on/off with the ignition rather than the engine.
  17. Just count the spokes Themisto have 7 pairs, Luxon have 9 pairs 👍

The factory kit also includes better engine cooling and a ton of other things. If you are not going to tow 2 ton trailer, go for a aftermarket one from non dealer.

  22. I don't think the part is too expensive to get hold of, and maybe armed with the PN, you can scour the internet auction sites to see what comes up. Call a SEAT dealer and check the price and if it can still be purchased.
  23. The recall applies to the Skoda models Fabia, Rapid, Yeti, Octavia and Superb made between 2013 and 2018, as well as SEAT’s Ibiza, Toledo, Leon and Alhambra, manufactured from 2014 to 2017. https://www.timesofisrael.com/car-importer-announces-massive-recall-due-to-airbag-concern/
  24. It's not a default thing and has to b coded in via VCDS or OBDEleven.

I won’t bother emailing them myself then as it sounds like the answer will be the same as the one you received. Essentially then we just have to sit and wait with absolutely zero reliable information at all. As I said earlier I am trying to keep this in perspective, it is just a car and there are people in the world struggling with far greater problems than this. That said though, I absolutely cannot believe how badly Skoda have handled all of this. The very least they should be doing is contacting everyone who has placed an order with an explanation and an apology. We all make mistakes, things happen that are out of our control, but the least you should do is have the balls to front it up and apologise.
  27. Time will tell for the UK across the models. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions http://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall Check 2017 Octavia rear wheel bearing RECALL. Any reason it shows for 2017 and then disappears off the DVLA site?
  28. They're very well built. There's a Y-reg Ghia TD-Di kicking about Ayr that I quite like, sadly a hatchback or else I'd have left a note asking if it was for sale... This one has Zetec seats so loses a little of the plushness but overall isn't bad, it's still a damn sight comfier than the Fabia's seats. It's cosy, that's the best way of describing it.
  29. I use it the Skoda sat-nav in preference to Google maps, but that said, for the vast majority of my journeys, I tend to know where I'm going. I don't use sat-nav enough for any clunkiness in the user interface to be a nuisance. Entering an address in the Skoda system isn't as easy as Google maps, especially as you can use voice control for Google maps, which is really handy. The voice control on my Skoda is rubbish, which considering it's a 2019 car, is a big disappointment. I'm not a big fan of Google Maps, which I find tends to give very poor instructions. Example: Google maps tells you to leave the M42 at the "Bickenhill Interchange". What it means is Junction 6. There is no signage on the motorway that tells you junction 6 is the "Bickenhill Interchange", so it's a poor instruction. Obviously it's clear on the map, but it's a silly mistake the Skoda sat-nav doesn't make. I've also found Google maps gets confused on some roads under certain conditions, but that may be down to urban conditions affecting the satellite lock. Whatever the problem, my Skoda system is more dependable. I've navigated a journey with both Google and Skoda sat-navs running, and I found the Skoda sat-nav gave more timely instructions than Google maps. If I could only use one system, I'd choose the Skoda system. If I was a delivery driver, I'd probably choose the Google system, as the voice control is so useful.
  30. I used to drive a W-reg turbo diesel MK1 Focus Ghia quite regularly as I looked after it for the owner. I loved how plush it was inside.
  31. @bolixYou are right to doubt it. If they are no more than 250 Nm of torque and FWD they might well have a DQ200 /DQ200-e. But no 2.0 TDI or TSI or PHEV has a DQ200, they will have DQ381,s or DQ400-e's.
  32. Channel 4 are running a story on the millions of Defeat Device affected cars still on the road in the UK 7 years on. That is VW Group cars but also others. It is time that the UK Government had the Manufacturers buying up the cars still on the road that are those that have the defeat devices. Maybe have those that got compensation hand in the cars to be scrapped. The SMMT are as usual giving guff statements as they are only bothered about manufacturers and not the generalpublic.
  33. Black pozi drive screw heads = clone. Unless you know the seller you are better off buying new from an authorised Ross-Tech distributor, second hand interfaces sell for almost new money anyway. 99% on eBay, Amazon, AliExpress, Facebook Marketplace etc will be clones.

Not sure if I can still believe, but just got a call from my dealer and was told that car is fully built and my Octavia Style 1,5 TSI 110kW mHEV DSG will be delivered next week... So after ordering Sep 2021... moving dates 3 times (Order Sep 2021->first estimate Apr/May 2022 -> estimate update to Oct 2022-> estimate update to Feb 2023 -> estimate update to Apr/May 2023)... it is finally coming true. Still being afraid to be happy and thinking, that something will change and will get a call saying " sorry, we mixed up" or something Fingers crossed 🤞
  35. As it says press ok to download drive to work or where it’s going to park or press ok to download on your drive leave car lock it it then download will be download as long as you don’t open the car. If you do open the car it saves what it’s down loaded will continue once locked some updates are 8gb or more so can take hours when the green circle on the top left is full it’s completed When it’s downloaded it says installing. It even says all this in the kamiq owners manual under online system updates

Ignore the 015E/017E numbers... you might have more luck using the the fact it's a Hella headlamp with part number 1ZS 247 047-11. Also scrapper will be your best bet, should be plenty around to find a part eventually. But as mentioned by @softscoop do some drying/investigation work, we all know water and electric are not the best "friends" Also, you can bypass mad dealer rates, and learn how to drop bumper off, first time is always fun, and better with a partner (joke there...) it becomes quicker to do once you know how it all comes together, and worth seeing if you need more parts around headlamp area that might be broken. As for the dealer calibration, you can most likely do this yourself with VCDS tool or equivalent, plenty of people in West Yorkshire can help out with those (me included)
  37. So Haldex oil change including pump dropped and gauze cleaned by great independent place as recommended by @numskull . Digital record updated and took pics before and after. Before: After: This is on a car with less than 13.5k miles on the clock. So definitely something that should be advised. God knows why VAG don’t recommend it if they care about cars running for as long as capable. Really grateful for the forum for stuff like this 👍🏼
  38. The front brake pads fitted to the Kodiaq depend on what size front brake discs are fitted. So as you can see below, one has a width of about 160mm and the other has a width of about 175mm. As you have a 2.0TDI, you probably have the bigger pads. The smaller pads might only be fitted to the 2WD 1.4 petrol models with 125HP and 150HP. So all 4WDs and all diesels, will probably only be fitted with the bigger pads. However, it's best to check the car's buiild codes to be sure what brakes the car left the factory with. Build code 1ZA or 1ZK means you have 312x25mm front brake discs. Build code 1LW means you have 314x30mm front brake discs. Build code 1LA or 1LG means you have 340x30mm front brake discs. 312x25mm front brake discs have TRW brake calipers that use these brake pads 1ZA 1ZK 314x30mm and 340x30mm front brake discs have TRW brake calipers that use these brake pads 1LW 1LA 1LG
  39. I actually found the same part on aliexpress for about £12 delivered. I’m waiting for it to be delivered and will report back on here once I’ve fitted it.

  42. Hi Andy, for MOT’s I’ve used Macclesfield MOT centre, but not been too fussed who I used in the past as unless they are going to check the car first, the MOT test is regulated in what they do. For Indy servicing, I use Links on Fence Ave, in Macclesfield. These guys are all VAG main dealer mechanics and have been great for Haldex service and shock replacement. Do check the price with them as they are only marginally cheaper than Mitchell Skoda, but much more convenient for me.
  43. Had a little accident month ago, woman was backing into parking spot and went full pedal to the metal into me, ruined my front end, car was fixed but I ended up swapping grill and added front splitter, few more bita coming in following weeks.
  44. Mine today was a bit different, I saw a base model one of these. First I've seen in christ knows how long... I like these, also the COO plate is a funny one. Moo. But seriously, I most definitely wouldn't mind an Escort, even if they bloody rust as much.
  45. If I had a red Superb - I would've got that. I did however replace my chrome grille surround with a black version though, from Kopacek.
