  1. I'm guessing the extra 2ft is with the load bed tailgate down? Either way as others have said it's stupidly heavy and a stupid childish design. I'd be embarrassed to be associated with it in any way to be honest... Be that in relation to its design and engineering or just driving it.
  2. Even if the Cybertruck is an F350 competitor it's still mighty heavy F350 5,878-8,132 lbs (2.624 - 3.630kg)
  3. Could it be that they are not used to driving an automatic in snow/ice conditions?
  4. Hmm With the snow this morning (3") the the number of EVs that were falling foul of the hill in our street was surprising, unable to slow enough to make the stop at the junction and equally number (probably) unable to maintain momentum / traction up the incline, could it be extra weight, higher tyre pressures ? driver ability ?
  5. I watched that video a couple of days ago and thought there was nothing wrong with the way he was parked because he was very clearly filming with the car and also of course there was literally no one else waiting to charge near him as there were 2 other spaces on the other side of the chargers so clearly he was not causing anyone to have difficulties. As to the way he talks, nothing wrong with that either, it's a phrase he often uses, and he is quite knowledgable about electric cars, we all have our little sayings that some may not like, but to judge him and his content on just that, well, words fail me.
  6. @m18rusif changing wheels at home (unless you have a lift ) because VW use silly bolts instead of wheel studs for the sake of your back I suggest you buy and use one, or better still two, wheel alignment tool, or two or four if swapping front wheels to rear. Below is just an example, plenty around to chose from, I've no idea of the quality of finish of this example. - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223480382915
  7. In all my time on several forums I have never seen a post about issues with a GPF. I don't think you need to be concerned.
  8. Another muppet that not only takes up two parking spaces but then shows it off to the world. I didn't get to hear what he had to say, the initial "YO! Whatsup!" was enough for me to abandon it.
  9. My wheel arch providing some shelter to a robin
  10. Am I the only one who thinks the Cybertruck looks as if it was designed by the old TG team?
  11. I have a good few miles to do in the next few days and using the MINI just because of the All Season tyres on it and comfort and i think i am OK for the chargers i will be using. Leaving with 100 % charge and temp at -5*oC and car pre conditioned. Today just me and dog. Plan is charging at 75-80 mile each time other than a 90 mile between charges, maybe some driving on white stuff so i will see as i have alternative chargers but they are just not Free or cheap. I reckon on maybe 5 charging seasons at most on 50 kW chargers, but i will see. The MINI actually seams to be pretty good in the cold as long as the heater is at 18*oC and AC just on occasionally if needed if any steaming up. That is the beauty of a small interior and the heated seat only needs on for a few minutes occasionally when getting in to cold leather or before getting in.
  12. Updates on work in progress. Due to the overboost pipe over driver side we will have to make new air inlet in bumper. Best anti vibration solution silicone hoses-tripple wired. Crash bar initially drilled in center and both ends, 3 more holes to come on each side, 9 holes all together. Brackets are welded onto FMIC, for the same fixating points as old Forge FMIC-proven to ne good

Hi Moribund, I'm embarrassed to admit that my problem was in fact my own ignorance. My old Octavia only had one temperature dial and the new one has temperature control on the left and on the right. Everything else was a red herring. Apologies if this doesn't solve your problem. All the best, Nick
  14. Very foggy this evening......... 20231201_182916.mp4
  15. Ah, someone made a mistake at Tesla, still isn't corrected on UK website. https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck It's 6,843 lbs on US website, which is about 3,100 kg. More reasonable than the Hummer EV, which is 4,373 kg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMC_Hummer_EV
  16. That just about sums up the level of stupidity, they do an oil and filter change, the engine knocks and the low oil pressure warning light come on, do they question what they did? No they expect a fault code reader to tell them whats wrong!!! Shame there is not an OBDII code for incompetent mechanic.
  17. A good observation. I definitely honed my skills on old nails with skinny balding cross ply tyres, snow was a summons to go out and play, sometimes with not so good consequences. Anybody remember James Hunt owning an A35 van and his comments on why he did so? I took my driving test in a complete nail of an A35, I had bolted up tight the sliding clevis to the mechanical rear brakes from the master cylinder, it was the only way to get them to work (for my limited experience), it meant when you braked hard the handbrake lever came up and held the brakes on with its ratchet, as the lever was between the drivers seat and door I thought the examiner would not notice me repeatedly releasing it, quite the opposite but I believe he realised that if I was capable of double declutching (syncro was shot on all gears) while keeping a straight trajectory against the wheel shimmy with one hand while pushing the handbrake down with the other I perhaps deserved to pass. I took my test 14 days after my birthday and had no driving lessons from anybody, when he told me I had passed and asked for my license he saw that it was already full of endorsements 😒
  18. Old biddies get old by living a long time and seeing many winters. Even those that do not check tyre pressures or treads or still drive old cars or newer with narrower tyres and lighter cars seldom seem to have issues in winter. Maybe they just drive as the road condition and under foot suits them or they remember Cross Ply,s and drive to the conditions and Paddy Hopkirk doing Snow Rallies in a Mini. Or them driving whatever in the 50,s and 60,s.
  19. Aberdeen is crazy on an icy day as those in Prestige and performance cars think they can take rat runs and cobbled streets and can not pull away at junctions. As for Glasgow it is BMW,s you see sliding into kerbs or on low loaders.
  20. Which engine type? I think the 1.2 TSI has a common 'gotcha' where a seal gets left behind by the old oil filter and screws things up with similar symptoms.
  21. I remember my ex manager complaining bitterly to me that the Skoda Superbs were dangerous in snow and ice, which I found rather odd given that I have been driving nothing but Superbs since they were first released here in the UK back in 2002 with the Mk1 and I have never had any issues with them on snowy or icy roads and I'd be doing about 30-40,000 miles a year and I still drive one now I'm retired, the last 3 of which have been auto's, my old manager only ever had manuals.
  22. @Stoker If you want it buy the products which are available at not crazy prices and you apply it. You are as well qualified as the people that will do it for a dealership. With the money saved for your labor and no commission to yourself you can buy something useful.
  23. I refused it, it was added on without me being asked and any paint damage meant a complete re-application at my cost. .
  24. Yes the spaces are supposed to be for more than disabled or infirm or wheel chair users. Parents & Guardians taking children in an out cars at chargers. Then you them design disabled charging like in Forfar, dropped kerb, long cables and the surveyor spoke to me when i e-mailed the councilor to tell them they were unusable. Dundee did them right. bottom pictures. This on Forfar has the water gather as not enough drainage and it becomes a sheet of ice. The 2nd picture is NHS and 2 public bays. Forfar.
  25. Yeah oil is absolutely fine. Dipstick perfect etc
  26. Confirmed. Another update today, but this time I was given 3 tab options one of which was 'Update now'. Selected 'Upodate now' whilst on the move and the system went and did it's thing without complaining about updates can't take place whilst driving. About time !
  27. Push the plug and socket together to release the tension on the clip momentarily while you press the release tang, then gently wiggle it off.
  28. Do Telsa know what size the load bed is or am I missing something? https://www.tesla.com/en_gb/cybertruck
  29. He is with the car filming so not going to stay there Shirly. Unlike the Hyundai blocking the one charger at Turnberry & the Kia that has been charging 90 minutes at Girvan and is full and still locked in or the Merc getting 11 kw on the AC and has been a few hours. Funnily an Open Reach EV driver was needing a charge as he has 20 miles range and 16 miles to home where there is 1 public charger. He said report the ar53 in Forfar with the Open Reach Van. I charged in Stirling on a rapid that was dead slow and i got 18 kW in the 40 minutes. then had to go on the AC to get to 98%, (Did 90 miles and still had 16 miles left and that was in very cold weather and not going slow.) The other 3 chargers occupied. 2 had arrived just before me. I was still there when a guy came back that had been on 1 hour 40 minutes in an Audi. He was not bothered it was a £1 a minute over 40 minutes as a works car. He said never again taking it to go south it was hell.
  30. And if like me you found your Significant Other didn’t comment on the ride so often, it’s all around a result 😂
  31. I would be 'delighted' that the Dealer is owning the repair - you don't have the option to reject a used car now. I would then either sell it privately and have the paperwork showing a new sunroof cassette, or keep it until you can change it for a late SEL model without a panroof. I've just bought a new to me Audi to replace our Volvo and I avoided the panaromic roof option like the plague, because of your and others experience on here. I looked into Audi forums for my model and people have had issues in warranty (under 3 years old) so I thought it was too much of a risk for a used car purchase.
  32. My vRS is a month old and not seen any issues reported by other people....
  33. It's always odd to me when I hear complaints about insufficient lighting. With type approvals becoming more stringent decade upon decade you'd think all would be well. My first car never had reversing lights 😜 they were a common DIY upgrade back then from your local car mart like Les Smiths etc before there was a Halfords in every town. But even now on my California which has H7 bulbs (and I find them perfectly adequate but not the most desirable from an aesthetic approach as LED's) people still berate their performance. I guess we all have different expectations and abilities that influence opinion. Looking forward to picking up our Kamiq on Tuesday, it's the 1st car I will have owned with LED headlights.

  36. They are lug bolts, with M14 x 1.5 threads Tighten them to 120 Nm torque If you buy the correct pattern of wheel then you can use same bolts without any spacers, or different bolts
  37. Just passed 105k views, making my thread most viewed one in project cars, proud to be so💪💪💪💪
  38. I tried it on my diesel, it just started with exactly the usual parameters despite the throttle to the floor then after a momentary but perceptable pause when the revs dropped to the usual running idle speed the engine then revved up to the stationary 3Krpm rev limit in response to the throttle pedal position.
  39. OK.... Bargin for 200 for the outer two lights 110 each for inner two Center trim in black 174 Various bolts and screws and trim covers.. including some trim from Czech 🇨🇿 approx 100 Obviously doesn't include the time, effort and loom making from Elliott

AIUI each of the following are available in the car (infotainment screen and virtual cockpit) and via the app... Long Term - keeps count up to 9999Km or 99h 59m then automatically resets. Can be manually reset. Since refuelling - just that Since Start - just that, unless stationary for less than 2 hours in which case it continues the count. Can be manually reset. However, I've noticed the app misses some journeys if the Škoda servers are down or unreachable for a period of time (e.g. parked up in a mobile 'not spot'). Also, the car data may be reset if there is a major software or firmware update whilst the may app retains it. Alas it all seems a little amateurish.
  41. But for sure it can't harm, right?
  42. The specification of the 16" Kamiq rim is either 6Jx16 ET35 or 6Jx16 ET38, and the specification of the 16" Kamiq tyre is 205/60R16. The specification of the 16" Seat Ibiza 2007 rim is 6.5Jx16 ET43, and the specification of the 16" Seat Ibiza 2007 tyre is 205/45R16. As you can see in the chart below, the outside diameter of 205/60R16 is 10.4% bigger than 205/45R16...which is far too big a difference. Outside diameter of tyre 205/45R16 590.9mm 205/60R16 652.4mm (+10.4%)
  43. EKAGRIP for flywheel is comming to
  44. I just picked this up on Saturday and drove it 450 miles from the dealer in Perth back home to Somerset. Loving it so far.
  45. The old but still with us BBS CK015's and BBS levelling caps fitted below.
  46. And we go again..... So afew more things to update on.... Engine bay
  47. Strange as mine has no rattles etc. Otherwise I agree ... fantastic car.
  48. @BeePM do you know specifically what your dealer fixed on your car? Anyone else who still suffered from leaks but has tried sealing the plastic-aluminium joint looked at the overlap of the front of the main seal into the plastic tray (the one I have the cotton bud in)?
  49. It's perhaps not surprising though, that the manufacturer will "sell" them as different features! All it costs him is a few lines of code. All the hardware is already in the car anyway. There have been a few occasions (usually a tight parking space on a slope) where I have wanted to disable Autohold and just let the car roll back(or forwards) slowly on the brakes a few inches at a time. On the uphill occasions, the hill hold becomes a right pain in the backside because you can't disable that! (At least, I don't think you can)?
  50. Although they both work by maintaining the pessure in the brake lines, I don't consider them the same thing. Hill assist will only apply if the car is on an upslope and only stays on until you attempt to move. Auto Hold comes on every time you stop, uphill, flat or downhill, and although Avocet says it only stays on for 10 minutes, it is not something that I will verify. So in my opinion they are not the same thing.
