  1. Update OI_P119_EU_202425_Offline_Update.zip contains data from 23.12 (YY.MM). You can check this for example in the MIB31_EU.ROOT/3D/PRODUCT.NDS file. This is a SQLite database, you can find this information in the updateRegionTable table.
  2. I've recently bought a Fabia Mk1 1.4 for motorsport events. A few Autotests and Trials completed it is now time to rally, which is the purpose of the car. It was already fitted with full roll cage, harnesses, bucket seats etc. and ticked all the boxes for me. First rally complete and needless to say there's a few issues, but all sorted now. Most important of all it was some serious fun, looking forward to a lot more!
  3. Seemingly there will be a ban on Computers / Laptops / Chrome Books, Mobile / Smart phones / watches / glasses, doorbell cameras, CCTV, Facial Recognition, A1 and anything with Semi Conductors / Micro chips. Also ****s that make youtube videos are going to be banned and made to walk everyplace or ride pushbikes with fixed gears.
  4. I've always understood the left column is front and the right is rear as the orientation of the sketch of the car above. I would suggest using the fully laden pressures should be selected.
  5. Amundsen2 Owners Manual Page 47 The unit uses the GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite signal for route guidance. Outside the range of the GPS satellite signal (e.g. in dense vegetation, in tun- nels, parking garages, etc.), the unit navigates only with restrictions using some on-vehicle sensors (such as speed sensor or steering angle sensor). The unit offers the possibility to show in the split screen display the following Position » Fig. 32 on page 48 information about the current geographical po- sition of the vehicle and the satellite signal.  Geographical longitude  Geographical latitude  elevation  Number of received/available satellites To view the information on the longitude and latitude of the current vehicle position display requires the reception of GPS signals from at least three satel- lites. 6. Did you use a system like VCDS or just a standard OBDII reader? An OBDII reader will not pick up ABS faults.
  7. Ok, last time I'm going to ask. Have you read the owners manual on satellite reception?🤔
  8. Once the fault is on it can only be cleared with a diagnostic tool, and as @Paws4Thot says the fault code would highlight the where the problem lies. You won't get much further without diagnostics being used to find the fault code logged.
  9. We've spent a fortune over the last couple of years replacing Huawei network devices with Junipers as have Openreach and any one else running a telco network
  10. Hopefully I can increase the potential buyer appeal for the the Altair wheels by suggesting that they will make a 'bog standard' Octavia look like a VRS 😊
  11. Just wanted to post some good news, the ACC on my car (2020 Octavia first edition, 1941 software). As soon as I started driving in France, then through Belgium and Netherlands, it changed to work as a LHD car. Quite relieved 😀
  12. 1 point
Maybe look at the vcds owners list and map. An autoscan might give some clues as to why the parking module is unhappy. Could be a sensor or even just the buzzer it uses.
  13. 1 point
Just a thought, if a previous owner has tried to change some settings, using say OBD11, it's possible that they have screwed up the settings causing the system to not recognise the sensors. I am speaking from experience with different function.
  14. So the driver simply said "it doesn't matter, you were behind me" when I said that I was stationary and that they had gone into me. We both took photographs of the damages (his kid jumped out a few extra times to take additional photos but when I approached him for his name, number, insurance and so on, he said we couldn't do it there and that I had his registration plate and that was enough. I got his details though much later on askmid.com for a tenner. Fast foward that day I rang my insurance company, then a few days later got an email from them stating that the TP did not claim liability. The latest update is that they've passed my dashcam footage to them and simply said "they have no obligation to respond until we pass on our costs to them". That and I have a hire car at the moment from Enterprise, and having my car repaired by them too. It's funny that they mention that we all have a "moral obligation to keep costs down", but I can't imagine that with the hiring and repairing procedure. I used to have "motoring legal" prior but this was before the the general marketplace took an increase back in 2023, I opted to have it removed to save a bit. Sod's law. Now I'm just going to keep that option in mind when I renew. Thank you all for your posts. I figured this is how insurance and claiming is supposed to go ("if you claim once you're more likely to claim again"), but when premiums are going through the roof it feels very strange.
  15. 13th August new versions of Octavia launched in UK https://skodamedia.com/en-gb/releases/1514 and new brochure dated 14 August 2024 https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/0bcfc2d5-654f-49b2-a524-91e141293e36
  16. Looking back through documentation it had a new steering motor, followed by application of lubrication (TPI repair 2062129/5) and then most recently replacement of both front top mounts. The noise dissappeared following initial lubrication and then top mount replacement, but returned a short while thereafter. I plan to raise the return of the noise with the supplying dealer and will report back once I have an update👍

  19. Interesting. That's a facelift Superb - must've been introduced then. The pre-facelift doesn't have it, nor the clips on parcel shelf.
  20. I spent all of last night hoovering all the mouse fun out of it, fully masked up and gloved. The car was owned by a smoker, so there's that to deal with as well. It's clean of debris now, but it's due a healthy bath of disinfectant before we can really get into it. It still can't select any gears, the lever moves left and right fine, but front to back is locked up, you can see the linkage at the gearbox end move a BIT when moving the selector back and forth but I don't know where it's bound up. I got under the car and doused the selector joint under the car with penetrating oil just in case it's sticky in there somehow. I'm sure I'll get it figured out. Till then, this can never be unseen
  21. Worth asking in the Octavia 4 forum?
  22. Unfortunately not... I sent you link for SW upgrade in PM. If it doesn't help I beleive you need to have it replaced.
  23. No, clips are not present. With the previous genuine Skoda Net Under Shelf kits, they have included the net and the mounting clips (along with a template to drill the holes in the shelf to attach the clips.
  24. 75kg nose weight is about 1 adult on their graphic.
  25. @nta16 (see what I just did there?) Thanks for coming back Nigel. I'm still trying to learn briskoda's particular ways of doing things, so apologies for the double post. I was forgetting the editing limitations and instead I somehow repeated it instead. Yesterday I received a brand new spare wheel, complete with speed sticker, which is now sitting snugly in its stowage. Unlike you, I've always carried a spare wheel and feel a lot more secure with it. Even as I gather the required tools I know that calling out the breakdown services (AA in our case) can now ensure a wheel change, especially if my wife is alone with the car. I've yet to see how the wheel gets on unrestrained (turns out the Mk4 peg bolts are on back order) but I'm sure I can come up with a temporary tie down arrangement in the meantime. Thanks for your help, and indeed to everyone who have offered so much help and advice. All greatly appreciated and a great assistance to a newbie!
  26. wait until your car (ICE or EV or whatever) somes with something like Crowdstrike preinstalled ;o)
  27. That's incorrect - aftermarket springs do NOT require DCC to b turned off! They're just trying to scare u. Plenty have used lowering springs with their factory DCC shocks with no issues, provided ur springs don't lower the car by more than 35-40mm. A DCC Recalibration procedure is highly recommended once the lowering springs have settled. H&R or Eibachs r the popular tried n tested choice. I myself have been running Eibach Pro-kit springs for almost 5 yrs now. I have DCC, so the drop was only 20mm. Been no issues whatsoever, both DCC and springs, or any of the connected systems such as steering, lighting and braking. This is mine, before I changed the wheels.
  28. It seems slow but it evens out, keeping up with traffic is best practice and looking ahead, anticipating slowing traffic, lifting off and smooth acceleration all helps and makes the journey a bit more interesting. Even if I drive quickly the mpg is still amazing compared to the cars I drove in the 80's. Given heavy traffic on most routes, if I want more engaging motoring, I leave the car on the drive and take my Kawasaki out through the Lincolnshire Wolds up to the coast.
  29. Have you checked pcv system for leaks as that can cause oil to be burnt as it passes back into the intake tract. Also how many miles has the car done.
  30. finally got around to buying the Travall dog guard setup I've been meaning to get for months so we can split between luggage and room for the beagle in our life when we go away together (makes mental note the sand needs clearing out before anyone comments)
  31. 120000km service done by myself this aftertnoon: - Engine oil change + oil filter remplacement - Air filter replacement - Cabin filter replacement - Front + rear wipers change + Air Quality Sensor replaced DSG6 service planned for tomorrow morning + system information to reset €248 for spare parts, without AQS.
  32. Please forgive me if being silly but how do you lift the drivers wiper blade yp...it gets stuck behind the back of bonnet so can't raise it fully ? The bracket hits the bonnet...also my wipers make an awful noose wiping - is that normal on a karoq? Blades newly replaced by garage Cheers
  33. Skoda standard fit wiper blades are notorious rubbish, best getting yourself a set of Bosch Aerotwin wiper blades. How to put wipers in maintenance position, from owners manual….
  34. Spot on, I recall explaining the same thing on a thread where someone was complaining to Bosch about brake pads bought from ECP, he was convinced that they actually made them and expected far better of them, in the end he realised that all his conversations with ECP and Bosch were with bots!!!
  35. Just to throw something else into the mix.... Brembo friction material (pads and discs) are SHOCKING quality - so many complaints of noisy brakes, ive personally had one with metal imbeded in the friction material out the box! People see the name and think they are quality parts..... Brembo hydraulic components like calipers are wonderful quality, but there is a reason youll see a manufacturer use brembo calipers but wont throw brembo pads in them.... And for those that require proof - The pads/discs that eurocarparts sell and label as 'brembo' are not made by brembo exactly but the name is licensed out to a company in china - https://www.brembo.com/en/company/news/brembo-gold-phoenix-leading-friction-technology
  36. Just pointing out the irony of how people who don't like certain topics in the non car related section shout about how 'this is a car forum so X shouldn't be discussed' yet in an actual car related topic, they go wildly off topic.
  37. have you ever been in a pub with a group of people ?
  38. Thanks to @dubDEAN and @Gaz for bringing this back OT. This is a car forum after all. There are other areas within this forum to discuss languages or even other things.
  39. So.... Jayemm really likes the Octy
  40. My "real" name is Michael and as for alternative pronunciations of it try the Irish. They say mee-hawl.
  41. Pagid might be exactly the same brake pads as the other TMD Friction brands, such as Hella, Textar, Mintex, etc. Notice in the example below (which are Kodiaq MK1 rear brake pads) that all these rear brake pads are labelled 25009 and 25011 which are presumably the internal codes. So it appears that ECP hasn't been given anything unique to sell by being given exclusive rights to sell Pagid brake pads in the UK (if ECP has been given exclusive rights to sell Pagid brake pads in the UK). Notice in the photos below, that the Hella rear brake pads are also labelled Pagid. 42. It's more that we Anglicise foreign words to such a great extent, that it sounds pretentious when people try to un-Anglicise them, mainly because no-one does it uniformly or consistently. It's only on certain words when doing so makes them feel sophisticated. As it happens, my mate is working on a 'Porsh' today!
  43. I'm sure things are pronounced differently, but it always sounds so pretentious when people try and approximate native-language pronunciation of certain words, brands, etc... Suddenly I drive a "Schk-eau-dah" and it's a model "Ock-TAAAAAHH-vee-ah", I wear "Nai-key sneakers", yet I still go to a "rest-ront" instead of a "rrey-stah-rraor" and shop at "Eye-kee-yah" instead of "Ick-ee-uh".
  44. Got one! 72 plate Meteor Grey with pan roof and DCC 👍 Missing the reverse camera so that will be the first job 😄
  45. Quick question. Just taken delivery of my new 72-plate 280 L&K and it's missing umbrellas in both driver and passenger doors. When I bought my last one in 2017, it had 'brollys in both doors. I contacted the dealer and was advised that they should come with one umbrella only and that they'd send one to me (hasn't arrived yet). Anyone know if this is correct? I sold my 67-plate 280 L&K last year, after 4 years of thoroughly enjoyable motoring, for no other reason than I fancied a change, maybe to an SUV type thang. I subsequently bought + sold a Mercedes E450, Infiniti QX30, Jaguar E-Pace, Cupra Formentor and Mercedes GLC43. I also test drove some new cars - Volvo XC40, Volvo XC60, Range Rover Evoque, Audi Q3, Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC250 and VW Tiguan. I think that's all of them, may have missed one or two. I did try and get a drive in a Kodiaq VRS, but gave up after utter disinterest by Skoda dealers. I'd previously tried + rejected saloons from Merc / Audi / BMW etc. After all of that and incurring huge buying + selling losses, I returned to the fold with my new 280 L&K a month or so ago. Climbing back in and driving away from the dealership was sheer bliss. I've greatly compressed this summary, which doesn't convey the pain suffered. Thinking there might be something better out there was an expensive mistake.
  46. First drive - 4.5hrs on the Motorway, fully loaded boot and 3 kids. So impressed with the B16's along with the Whiteline ARB kit. Much firmer and in my opinion so far these settings work best: Eco for the streets and comfort for the Motorway. Surprised how well the shocks coped and didn't rub the wheel arches at all.
  47. Engine: 1.6 TDi 115 Type: SE saloon Mileage: 183k miles Cambelt changed 1 times 5 speed Manual Gearbox oil changed 1 times Any other major work done? heater blower motor, exhaust flap control sensor, electronic coolant pump, fuel flap actuator, wiper blades, 19x services, numerous tyres, brake pads changed 3x, discs once STILL ON ORIGINAL CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL!!
