  3. Hi everyone 👋, I'm one half of Scott and Alana 4x4 and at the back end of 2024, Alana bought a Skoda Yeti 4x4. I currently own a Land Rover Freelander 2 which we use for everyday life things as well as using it for some off-road fun. This is exactly what the Yeti will be used for too, but we'll be a bit more gentle with it on the off-road stuffs 😁. Whether we are out green laning or out on the drive fixing/modifying our cars, we generally don't have our trusty GoPro too far away. In this thread you'll find a mix of videos from our time owning our 2015 Skoda Yeti 4x4. So have a scroll down and see if anything takes your fancy 😁. Our YouTube channel was dedicated to our Freelander 2, but it's now being shared with the Skoda Yeti which you can see here: Scott and Alana 4x4 YouTube There is also a playlist of our Yeti videos that you can watch here: Our Skoda Yeti Playlist If you have Instagram, Alana does a great job of posting pictures and videos to our Instagram account in which you can follow: Scott and Alana 4x4 Instagram We also have a Facebook page that you can follow: Scott and Alana 4x4 Facebook I'll try and keep this thread updated with all of our Yeti videos with the newest video at the top 😀. 4. Yes, the diff will also get done. It was apparently done by the dealer at POS, but I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. Even if it was done, I doubt they blew out the gauze properly, etc. I drive the car quite hard (but never on a track, Skoda UK Warranty Team!). My usual VAG Indie are being a bit difficult about this, so I'm looking to go elsewhere. I was almost sold on my local main dealer (who have been really good) but then I remembered how many times I've been scr**ed over by a main dealer, and decided against it. The car is at 39k and the annual service isn't due until the summer, so I've got a month or two to do my research and find a good place. First job is to fix what the gritter did to the front end this morning!
  5. In the glow of street lighting
  6. That’s why I kept my 85 edition to under 40k, going to miss the matrix lights and the electric tailgate, but have a workaround “shut the boot dear”
  7. If only I’d got the whole reflection 🙄
  8. I'm almost with LincsToffee. I agree that there are reviews saying DCC isn't worth the extra cash, nor the Heatpump. As far as the wheels are concerned, I liked the look of the 20" Vega Alloys, but I too have old creaky bones and decided that the standard 19" Regulus Anthricite Alloys would be more comfortable and easier to keep clean. My only regret with my order is that I let the wife talk me out of the towbar, although with the Edition, towbar prep is included so, presumably, Skoda Dealerships should be able to fit the towbar after delivery.
  9. I don't seem to be able to add coolant temperature as an option. I have now had the water pump replaced under warranty. The warranty covered the cost of the pump and labour. I paid the extra for a timing belt kit.
  10. Yes a short drive following a left to right full lock has cleared the warning lights, thanks everyone for your help.

OK, so non-turbo 1.2 12-valve 3 cylinder. Have you checked the vacuum pipe which connects the brake servo (booster) to the intake manifold? These crack at the junctions of the hard plastic sections causing false air to enter the manifold, out of control by the throttle body.
  12. All sorted. 👍 Bought some proper hose clip pliers too fed up trying to make do with standard pliers. 😂
  13. My Daughter's currently in Switzerland, 3km up: She says it's -4ºC, but feels quite warm. Gaz
  14. Told yesterday my Sportline is due mid June
  15. 10th December for me, what really gets me is dealer confirmed by e mail no usb socket on rear view mirror, but they could hardwire a dash cam, sent details of camera, and they promised to be back that day, with a cost despite 3 chasing e mails and 3 weeks later no response
  16. No confirmed delivery date. Just the same message as you that the delivery will be very soon in March.
  17. Has anyone had any delivery dates as yet, when I can actually get hold of my salesperson, only by e mailing, never get them on the phone, just get an e mail, not long now!! I really get fed up with the lack of communication and seriously thinking of walking away and doing a deal on a Ford Explorer delivery in 1 week.
  18. This was a good deal & should give you another 100k worth of Worry free motoring. Great result. Assuming you had a 1 year warranty with the purchase?
  19. Seen a few reviews where they say the DCC wasn’t worth the cost , I decided against it and went for 20” As for the heat pump think this would be more beneficial for the smaller units
  20. I would guess it may well differ by market. Here in NZ mine came with Goodyear Eagle F1s. They seem okay but I always run Michelin Pilot Sports on my cars so will switch to them when the OEM tyres wear out.
  21. We have just had a few days away and I have never seen so many Yeti's This was as we came out of Days Inn Kendal yesterday morning,
  22. The guy who had his Columbus fixed by the Surrey company is away on holiday at the moment. I think he's back at the weekend so I will ask him then. In the meantime I've just noticed an Ad from this company https://www.satnavsystems.com/product/vw-rns-510-skoda-columbus-navigation-repair-service/ (This could be the same company but either way it's worth a try.} Best wishes
  23. Hi all 👋. Let me start off by saying that I've told a little lie in the title, this is not my car per-say, it's Alana's, my partner in crime 😁. You know how it is, what is mine is hers and what's hers is...hers? 😄 Anyway, we have own a Land Rover Freelander 2 and until recently, a Renault Clio and a 2004 Mini Cooper S (the supercharged one). The Clio got scrapped and the Mini sold at the back end of 2024 and was replaced with this, our 2015 Skoda Yeti Elegance, 2.0L TDI, 170bhp. I'm not sure how many others have gone down this route on this forum and we might be committing all sorts of crimes 😁, we have added a few little bits here and there to make it off-road ready. We have been documenting each stage of the Yeti's journey over on our YouTube channel: Scott and Alana 4x4. I look forward to getting to know all of you on here, particularly any of you that have also used your Skoda's offroad 😀.

OK, well I don't always trust car mechanics, but if you are convinced to try it, you could just fit the replacement one and try it. Officially you should adapt the engine ECU to the replacement, using VCDS or similar. See Throttle Body Alignment (TBA) - Ross-Tech Wiki. This educates the ECU about the voltages on the position feedback potentiometers within the throttle body at the limits of travel. I think it will probably work OK without doing this. Disconnecting the battery will do nothing that taking the key out of the ignition switch doesn't do, as far as the engine ECU is concerned.
  25. My father is looking to get a new car. Aside from a 220i Coupe (G42), I'm struggling to suggest anything. He is a BMW man at heart, but the new 1 Series looks like a Kia (and only comes in 130bhp or 260bhp), and nobody is paying £45,000 for a new 320i. Then there are the options - this is not just a thing for BMW (I've also seen it on VAG cars) - but how on earth can they justify a £30,000 car in 2025 without heated wing mirrors or lumbar support! My 2011 A3 had both, and cost £3,500. Yes, there are the options of Cupra, Skoda, etc, but nobody is paying £32,000 for a budget 1.5 Golf. Speaking of VW - how can they have an average starting price of £42,000 for a Golf GTE?! Have a look here if you want a laugh - it doesn't matter if it's an Audi Q7 - it's a Volkswagen with a near £90,000 price tag. Just take a look at the SF90 market crash. If the people that own those cars can't get rid of them fast enough now the battery change is due, what chance does anyone have with a PHEV... just take a look at the 330e market! Everything is overpriced, cheaply made and overpriced. After buying my vRS I had the pleasure of being in several courtesy cars - a 1.5 Golf, a 1.0 Leon and 1.0 Arona. All three were somehow worse than the last - cheaply made, uninspiring/vague to drive and all costing more than my vRS. I love my cars - I always have. As @Aspman said though, I'm done with them for the moment. Looking on Autotrader is like looking on the menu at an Icelandic restaurant. That's if you can even find the cash price, over finance.

  27. Do it right for a DQ381, not as with a DQ250. VAQ Diffs, (Front) Mk3,s @ 3 years / 30,000 miles done properly. Some say, tracked / hard use @ 20,000 miles. MK4,s if a Dealership even bother to tell you might now say @ 20,000 miles / 2 Years. Plenty cars not done. That can cost you. They need Serviced Properly. .................. Pointless really doing oil changes without filters being changed. Or when screens then cleaned at least. Properly cleaned.
  28. Despite the modern ICE being much more complicated than the old carb and points system, consideration should be given to the fact that the modern engine is cleaner, more economical and more powerful than in the past. Not a lot of consolation, but many of the problems with the modern ICE will be from the myriad of sensors required for it to run correctly. P.S. My wife's Fabia (1.0TSI 110PS) currently has a very similar problem - apart from the rough running - DTC code thrown is P003A. A reliable OBD11 code reader is very affordable and perhaps should be considered to be an essential accessory nowadays.
  29. Thanks for your help guys. I've ended up going for a Challenge, not so much because it was a Challenge but because it also had VC, Canton, DCC, rear cam. Taking delivery today and can't wait!

What. No, no, no, no. 340mm front and 310 VENTED rears are for the 280ps petrol model exclusively. I already bought the wrong discs once and i have a 190ps diesel awd. What fit correctly was 312mm vented fronts and 300mm solid rear discs. As far as i know, nothing but the 280ps petrol with twin real exhausts get the uprated brakes
  32. The depicted ones are for 1.9tdi PD and 1.6/2.0 CR engine ea 189. Also vag has come up with a new set for 1.6/2.0tdi cr engine code ea288. I have both sets. The depicted one (one of them) meant for the 1.6/2.0 tdi cr ea189 engine will also be useful for the ea288 engine. The new set specifically designed for the ea288 is just a little better or one could argue it to be more practical. The former is way cheaper than the latter. The 1.9tdi pd crank locking tool will not be suitable for the cr engines. If I remember correctly the pd tool has its arrow mark on the tools wave top while the cr one (fits both ea189 cr and ea288 cr) has its arrow mark on the wave bottom.
  33. We can retrofit all of the above & more :-) The work is completed using new genuine parts and includes a 2 year warranty
  34. Haven't driven a 1.0 Karoq, but we are enjoying my wife's 1.0 Polo. The 110 HP engine. DSG too. Can be wound up quite happily. But I guess the Polo has a better power to weight ratio than a Karoq. Some of the owners above clearly get on well with a 1.0 Karoq, but I couldn't live with the lack of grunt once you fill the car. You can only try one out to see if it meets your needs.
  35. Here are my two videos. Res delete, Stage 1, 200 cell downpipe. Downpipe almost has no effect in sound. Drone starts at 2800rpm.

1970dazzler If you are desperate to replace your Fabia's horn, you might try removing the front-left fog-light (I think all UK-specification 2022 Fabia Colour Edition models had fog-lights as standard) and see whether that would allow sufficient access. If not, you'd probably need to replace the front bumper.
  37. If it's anything like other Skodas just take it for a drive and do a full left lock to full right lock and back turn of the steering wheel.
  38. These sort of jobs are not so much difficult as perhaps difficult to get someone that has, or allowed, the time and inclination, in them or not knocked out of them, to do the job properly and thoroughly, if you have the necessary equipment you would possibly do a better job than many professionals as you would (hopefully) allow sufficient time and care about doing the job properly and thoroughly. If any filters need changing as part of the service or just needed then they should be changed. The correct oil(s) need to be used (possibly to allow for VW past mistakes and/or compromises) they doesn't necessarily mean the bottles have to have VW labels. TVS Engineering DQ380 / DQ381 DSG (0DE / 0GC) general info - https://tvsengineering.com/en/dsg-gearbox/dq380-dq381/ @Ootohere may know more about DQ381 VWŠkoda serving.
  39. Which tells that you have a fault. Unless and until you can supply associated fault codes and the reader they were taken from that's as far as we can go.
  40. It's not adjusted correctly, you should see whats behind! Possible causes: Wife driving the car before you attending to her hair and makeup. Wife sitting in the rear seat 😁 As someone who had owned 30 + cars after 2 years of driving I never thought I would be where I am now hoping to keep the Yeti for my remaining days which hopefully will be a couple of decades and some.
  41. "I would say the average owner age around here is 70". That's depressing - I now see 70 in my rear view mirror even though my wife says I behave otherwise. I'm thinking about being buried with my Yeti - like a Pharaoh with his favourite chariot or a Viking in his longship - although I don't know how the Co-op feels about such things
  42. Basically at the back of the glove box there's a little plastic hook on an extendable rod, unhook it, prior to pulling the box out. It's best to fully extend it again when clipping it back in. It's a bit fiddly the first time you do it, after that it's a lot easier to do.
  43. Does it help if the picture is bigger https://ownersmanuals.blob.core.windows.net/ownersmanuals/en/Octavia_5E/05-2015/OwnersManual.pdf
  44. Clean MOT sheet for this one. Not bad considering it's been abused. Staring down the barrel of 100,000 miles now, and in the best shape I think it has been in for a long time.
  45. Long story, Happy Fish Friday. My SKY Broadband is pathetic and always has been. I was paying £38 a month and getting nothing like the speed i should have. In January it went up to £43. This had me looking to switch, or get cheaper & each time i tried accepting Renewals cheaper the application failed. When i did get to speak to someone at SKY i got an upgrade to Full Fibre and a low price. This was on 10th January. Change over 14th February, new router here by the 31st January. Before the 31st Router Arrived. BT Outreach guy knocked the door saying was putting the cable to the back of house ready for 4th. On the 1st BT Outreach message me appointment back to 14th March. This week the pavements are dug up for Fiber Broadband and pipes run to edge of gardens. Weeks away or months from that FIBRE BROADBAND. So i am paying £43 still and crap speed and just the lower price would be fine. ....................................................... I GOT THROUGH TO SKY today. I got the perfect call handler unlike the one 2 weeks ago. ' Computer says just wait'. £20 Credited to my Account today. Compensation is £6 a day for every day late from the original 4th February. £42 a week to be paid to my account until the Fibre Broadband is on in my house. It can take for ever as far as i am concerned. LARRY. Happy as. PS. She told me today the Cable going into the house at the rear is Pole Work, but requires scaffolding to the rear of house to be connected. Even if so and it is the 14th March that is about 38 days at £6. £228 plus the £20 gesture today. EDIT PPS. As i found out today, The pavements are dug up and new repaired poorly for VIRGIN Full Fibre Broadband.
  46. A pump learn will also prove the pump works and may indicate if the PRV is faulty. It runs the pump up to the point that the pressure relief valve opens. You can hear the pump wind up and the PRV open multiple times. I guess that's also a possibility - the PRV is stuck open (maybe from a small bit of debris). That's a cheaper fix. See here for the pump learn on an actual unit.
  47. You have identified pin 16 correctly on the diagnostic socket, by the way. You can see that only 8 of the orifices have contacts in, pin 1 bottom right in your pic - ignition switched 12V pins 4 and 5, leftwards from there, 0V/earths pin 6, CANH pin 7, K line pin 14, CANL pin 15, L line to airbag control unit pin 16, permanent 12V I may watch your video later if I find somewhere with better internet.
  48. I am shocked how bad the basic sound with swing radio is in Octavia 4! Today i had a opportunity to drive with kamiq with bolero radio and standard 4 speaker sound system just like octavia 4 and it was MUCH better. Technically both devices Octavias SWING radio and Kamiq BOLERO have 4X20W sound output so they should sound similarly. The audio source in both cases were the same so it is not an isssue. Is there any known fix for poor sound performance in octavia 4? It becoming so depressing that i am already planned how to set up aftermarket amplifier and wire it so it would work, but not quite ready for that much work. I know for a fact that octavia 4 have poor sound even with CANTON, it is not comparable with Kodiaq or Superb for example.
