no real updates as had family things taking up life and lost motivation i guess, but have fitted the black silicone coolant hoses 😁 and have a new genuine landing panel to drop at the body shop for colour matched paint , new radiator , condenser and receiver dryer as well as new rad mounts so a/c can work again and she can keep cool 😎

Hi, Turns out it wasn't an air lock, the mechanic showed me on his code reader the temp figures and all was normal for this engine - which he said always runs hot. The warning triangle and dash alerts were a separate issue and another common Skoda fault he said, which is the worn selector switch under the gear lever - a white plastic piece which wears out in the middle. So thankfully car is all good now and I will have the switch done in August along with my 40k DSG service. Water Pump and thermostat was replaced last week due to increased coolant loss which I'd been topping up every few weeks..

Many thanks Skomaz. I have had a possible wheel bearing failure mentioned to me locally. I shall have it checked out before I do anything else. Will post back findings for other forum Kodiaq owners to view.

It may be a MOT failure if there is a fault light in the instrument cluster indicating ADAS issues, as these systems are supposed to enhance vehicle safety. The fault may be that the Front Assist radar requires recalibration and/or replacement of broken mounting brackets - these are very easily damaged, even in only a very light shunt!

Think your guess is correct. Read this on a vw transporter forum Why there is no ABS light The ABS and TPMS computers have different sensitivity thresholds. A tyre pressure fault can be triggered if a sensor briefly misses a few pulses or detects a minor rotational difference. However, the main ABS system requires a more severe, continuous malfunction before it triggers an active ABS dashboard warning. I would change sensor or remove and clean it and check wiring to it as there not that expensive although I would assume if it was a wiring fault the ABS light would kick in too. If that doesnt cure it it may be a failing bearing or failing/dirty magnetic ring in bearing. Alasdair

The 'little spacer' which is mentioned as being required between the mounting lugs and the caliper carrier bracket is actually some chunky washers with a total thickness about 5mm. I had in mind that the holes in the mounting lugs had to be re-tapped for larger bolts, but I can find nothing about that in this thread so I am not sure now. Next time I have a front wheel off my Caddy I will check the size of the caliper mounting bolts and confirm on here. I discovered that I have a 14" wheel here too, so I will try that and see if the Mondeo calipers fit under it. It is actually a Vauxhall steel wheel so it will not tell you definitively whether your 14" wheels will fit, but it should show conclusively if they will not.

To me, given the description and the errors you quote I think it's not actually a gearbox or clutch issue but actually a brake sensor or hub bearing issue... Especially at that mileage.

Councillors have approved planning permission for the biggest Solar Farm in the Scotland in Perth & Kinross region. Not that there is a shortage of renewable electricity in the area, just a lack of National Grid infrastructure and electricity generating businesses being paid to not generate electricity. What is the potential generation already, 4 times what Scotland homes and businesses require. The UK Government have already approved the biggest and second biggest Solar farms in the UK, in England.

Warning light after 5 minutes suggest the coolant was low when last driven or more likely it has been leaking while standing. As time is critical, I suggest you ask a garage to presure test your system. Take their advice on topping up as distance to the garage is important. I know from my experience that a failed water pump can go from no obvious leak to loosing a large volume of coolant in less than 5 miles on a summers day.

Gotcha It was just that there is a multi-VAG make dealership there that fitted the mixed customer service description 😁

Just a small update, ran a last revision by Kalam @ Russell Road and Racing on the weekend and final numbers are 410hp and 554nm. Car is running sweet and no hiccups. He is happy with the results and so am i 😎💪🏻

Got the car back last week, back in tomorrow to sort loose trim pieces and the steering wheel not being straight. But the A/C and Recirculation button is working! France next week

OK - so on the list is: Superpro LCAs - standard replacements with poly bushes. @Awesam would be good to get alu items but I want to move to poly bushes and any combination of poly and alu ends up being £500 upwards and don't come with bottom ball joints so more cost Superpro Front anti-roll bar Superpro Front and rear drop links (may as well upgrade the rears while I'm looking at bits to swap out) If that doesn't kill the creak as well as tighten up the front end a little, then it must be top mounts by the that point and I'll aim for those. Now downpipes...

All UK-specification 2026 Fabia Mk4 models will have LED headlights and there are two types - 'basic LED' or 'adaptive LED'. I THINK that 'adaptive LED' headlights were standard on 2026 Monte Carlo and 130 cars, but all other models had 'basic LED' headlights as standard with 'adaptive LED' headlights as a cost-option. The 2026 Fabia Mk4 Owner's Manual exterior lighting-related section includes the following guidance My 2024 Fabia Mk4 has 'basic LED' headlights (ie. without adaptive functions) with the usual UK 'left-hand traffic' dipped beam-pattern that lowers the beam-angle and aims it leftwards with a significant 'kick-up' on its left-hand end to illuminate a road's verge. If my car were driven in 'right-hand-traffic' (eg. in France) that 'kick-up' would have the potential to dazzle ongoing drivers. (If I asked a Skoda dealership for assistance, I assume they would suggest I fit temporary beam deflectors like "Eurolites".)

If I have the right airbag, you can have it for the cost of postage.

If it has LED the pattern is usually flat and no action is needed, if bi-xenon then there is often an option that allows you to change the drive pattern, if its Halogen lights then deflectors will be needed.

If its failing or dirty/damaged wiring and giving a slightly sporadic signal it can cause tyre pressure warning as car thinks a tyre is slightly soft but not drastic enough to trigger ABS light. Alasdair

Further update: The Kamiq went in for investigation on 30th June. Verdict was "requires clutch pack adjustment as TP1 & workshop manual." Inspection report said 'covered under warranty'. However, today 13th July VW Warranty have told me that this will not be covered as it is an adjustment, not a fault being repaired. They will need the car for a week to remove the gearbox and the cost is in the region of £3k. The fact that this same Gearbox warning appeared last Sept and they replaced an oil pressure valve is irrelevant! The service staff at the dealers are being very helpful and I appreciate that it is not their decision. I am going to challenge this. Even if I pay up there's no guarantee that it won't happen again.

Spotted this mischievous little bugger in the garden earlier. He's been getting in the bird feeders and emptying them for a free for all on the ground. Hardly even flinched when I caught him 😂

Both mechatronic and gearbox fluids changed today, old fluids slightly dark but no contaminants 🙂
