  3. Hi, I've moved your request to Octavia MkIV seeing as you list your car as a 24 plate. Hopefully someone will pop along to help out.

  5. Any advice will be welcome. Just bought Octavia 24 plate. It has a USB-C portal. I've got an 10 year old+ Apple i pod which I had in my old car but even with an adapter and everything connected, I can't find an option on the media screen to access my I pod. Any ideas please. Thanks

  7. I have looked about and apparently the S3 subframe fits as do the Passat wishbones but don't want to order it all unless I am sure it works such like the lighter hubs etc any advice welcomed if you have done the swap or not if it doesn't work
  8. WTF. I was at the charging hub with my dogs and it is busy with only 3 rapids out of 4 working. People keep trying the out of order one. A brand new on trade plates Audi, top of the range pulled in. The guy looked like he never knew what to do. I went over. He was going to use the tethered AC 43 kW cable. I asked if he wanted to slow charge, he said it can only use that charger, he had been at NcDonalds and the charger would not fit. He was correct. Both ports on both fronts wings had AC ports only. No CCS. No removable cap. It was moulded plastic. As it was his phone or credit card would not work. He is delivering the car. 70 miles range showing and 70 to go near as damn it if no diversions. Last 30 miles are motorway, Off he went. He said he would just get it recovered if need be.

  10. Thanks I'll recheck the long coding and just try to match the bytes. I did find a web post refering to virtual module 4C. The comment was that vcds was including it in the Gateway list (which then throws errors) when they should have masked it out as invisible. I'm always aware diagnostics relies on the software writer interpretation. I perhaps rely too much on the helper for Byte coding. On previous versions of vcds they incorrectly linked the wrong label files. Label files are the human friendly text created by Ross-Tech. IMHO ECU label files don't always match what you have. My Yeti has ESC et Al and some comments I found suggested indirect ABS TPMS may not be possible. But I'll persevere. Any idea of mileage for the ABS TPMS learning phase and can I expect it to be inactive until it's learned? I am testing by letting air out of a tyre after coding and vcds reset, but it occurs to me, many may change the coding and not actually test immediately after.
  11. You have my sympathies, it’s a nightmare situation, I had the bonnet stuck shut on my Golf - I was amazed at how difficult all the workarounds were…….

  13. It is usually more than just an LED such as door open indicator. Have a look for a broken wire in the drivers door to door frame rubber trunking.
  14. No recall? Not what I've seen!
  15. Even if 5w 40 FS VW 502 00 non long life oil of the correct saps was more expensive than VW,s recommended Long Life oil be it VW504 00 507 00 or 508 00 / 509 i would use the 5w 40 FS in a TSI pre or post 2018 & do oil changes at 10,000 miles 12 months or sooner. I run cars and get the fuel consumption and emissions i get, i do not run a car on a Rolling Road indoor as VW Group do for the old tests and the new one. In the old regime they run TDI,s with diesel in the engine oil. Well VW / Audi / SEAT did at times.
  16. Not sure if much help but this is the diagram of the cables from the manual: The only thing I can think of is the sacrifice the front bumper. If you disconnect everything from the bumper lower fixings, both wheel arches, washer hose, electrical plugs etc, and see if you can flex it out enough it may be that there is enough softness in the upper parts that are still attached that the bumper can flex up and out of the way to allow you to reach the latch mechanism or cables. Guide to front bumper removal here, also with pictures of it removed so you can work out an approach.
  17. 32 000km interval is just insane! I will follow the 8 000km to my new Karoq 1.5 TSI also (I will do the first one at 5 000km). Since it is in warranty I will keep the VW 508 for the four oil changes in the first three years and then I will rethink for the VW 504 later.
  18. It was VW 508/509 0W20 originally in the car, changed only on 32000 kms and 66000 kms. i bought it with 82000 kms and change oil and filters same day. in my skoda service manual it says oil can be 0w20, 0w30, or even 5w30, depends on climate, only notice is: with thicker oil, emissions can be higher and fuel consumption too. I put 0W30 because its 50% cheaper and i like to change everything by myself, not just oil. so i bought 5x5 liters to have in next 3 years change 2x a year, it is my hobby, car is my pet 🙂 have a vacuum pump also.
  19. I had this recently, i had a little Pool in the spare wheel well. No idea exactly where it came from. Cleaned all the rubbers around the tail light, massaged/lubricated the main boot seal and touch wood not had an issue since.
  20. Discovered the 9.2” screen had a stress crack/line of dead pixels. Luckily just in time for an eBay return. Replacement ordered and installed and all is well. Quick lunchtime job to swap out another failed speaker. Getting quite quick at removing and replacing door cards now! Rear door this time so just swapped with more up to date OEM version. The 3v0035411A have a problem whereby the plastic becomes brittle and eventually the magnet falls off. Third out of 4 speakers to have done it. Replaced with 3v0035411J. I have another two arriving later this week and the other rear door will be preventatively changed out for the J version and one spare for the shed. For info the pop rivets required are 4.8mm x 14mm.

  22. Solved!!, changed the Sensor G450 my self (51£) , very easy to do. there are two of them on the top back of the engine. one of mine was already changed, so i changed the back one, and the car now is regenerating almost normaly, about every 200 miles mixed circuit but 40% city stop and go trafic.
  23. Hi, i have been searching everywhere for a fix to this problem, for my daughter (passed her test and we got her a 2019 Fabia), and stumbled across this post in the forum. Have put the current firmaware details belwo, if you you think the update would help i would really approceiate if someone could share it with me Thanks in advance, marti BT:C190 AA:S1.3_A8740 CP:210.81 ML: 8740_m,l_2016_11_01 Dpn:6V0 035 869H HW:690 SW: 8740

  25. It's from a team all calling themselves Customer Relations Manager on [email protected]. I've received muddled emails from at least four individuals, all claiming to hold this title. The last email claims there is no further escalation possible. Given how useless the UK had been in the past, I initially went straight to Skoda Connect in March. But they insisted on involving the UK once the work was booked in. Skoda Connect have now stopped responding to emails & I suspect have blocked my address, as I no longer receive the automated acknowledgement. It's all an utter shambles that has ended any chance of any further Skoda purchases, & probably the entire VAG group.
  26. @Rbz5416 Was that from Skoda UK,s Customer Service provider that acts for Skoda / VW Group and often know nothing about Skoda Vehicles? Or was it someone in the Skoda Management Executive Team like a communications manager? They do like dismissing issues as though they have no responsibility for importing and selling vehicles Fit for Purpose.
  27. there is no official or unofficial recall for skoda europe, only VW and Audi. since there is no upgraded bolts, VAG will change bolst with same M12 x 1.5 x 70 mm number N105 524 02. no matter is it left or right sided wheel, bolts are same. i found some pics.
  28. Is the Warranty going to cover it over 100,000 miles. Is it getting serviced to The Manufacturers Recommendation, Schedule or Regime? Read T&C,s very closely as to what is Covered with the Warranty. Clutch Plates are with Manufacturer Warranty, are they on the Extended Warranty. Is the DSG covered OK?
  29. Probably the last post on this given that Skoda UK have delivered their "Final Outcome", which is basically Foxtrot Oscar. So short of the fault fixing itself, looks like I'm stuck with it...
  30. @petertr That fuel you have in your tank is likely Summer Formulation Petrol. More Hydroscopic than what is getting delivered in the next few weeks in Scotland and the North of England within the next couple of weeks and further south eventually and until next March. Often not an issue, as there are vehicles in Dealerships that might even have fuel in from Summer 2025. But forewarned is forearmed. EDIT. My stupidity. I mis-read. Thought you had a PHEV and a tank of fuel. Not that the CrossClimates are good, giving Tank Like mobility. Small Point, really the CrossClimate 3,s are OK, not that great though in Snow. But size / Tread depth dependent. I have had 3 Previous Cross Climate Versions on vehicles. The SUV ones were worst.
  31. Interested too if it's possible and if anyone has done this, I was a bit disappointed to find our 2017 Octavia has a steel front subframe when the old 2009 one we had was alloy.....seems like a backward step but presumably a cheaper component?
  32. This is the mk3 forum so do hit up the mk4 forum as well. But while you’re here, that’s a lot of miles in 18 months. With the DSG in that model, the Skoda service interval is 80k miles but the previous 6-speed was 40k. Most people kept to the 40k as oil changing is really important. So if it hasn’t had it done, I’d do that.
