  4. Hi everyone! I'm currently developing my own automotive application for Volkswagen Group vehicles (VW, Audi, Skoda, SEAT and CUPRA). I'm trying to find free or open-source databases, APIs or other resources that provide reliable vehicle information. I'm particularly interested in: VIN decoding and vehicle identification Factory equipment and PR codes Engine codes and vehicle specifications OEM part numbers and compatibility Service and maintenance information Diagnostic data and ECU information Does anyone know where I could find this kind of data for free? Maybe there are some public databases, GitHub projects, open-source tools or APIs that I haven't discovered yet. I'm especially interested in data that can legally be used in my own application. If anyone has experience working with VW Group vehicle data or knows where developers can obtain it, I'd really appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance for your help! P.S. I accidentally posted my previous question in Polish and couldn't edit it. Sorry for the duplicate!

  6. I tested the Epiq (and the Peaq) on a drive from Munich to AUstria (Seefeld) and then back again. I am serioulsy thinking of replacing my Enyaq with an Epiq 55. Here's the video I made of the drive from Munich to Seefeld. https://youtu.be/1rWut1ialGM
  7. Dragging this up, do you need to have the correct BCM for this to work for a normal USB in the centre arm rest? With my step down being ripped apart by Skoda when doing my warranty work they have offered to pay for the parts etc so was wondering if I could go factory with this rather than factory USB socket in the arm rest and then step down (5v/12V) from the rear cig lighter to the usb.
  8. While that will happen, Skoda's stated reason for having fitted adaptive cooling shutters to the Fabia when the Mk4 version was introduced in 2021 was (as I highlighted in my posting of October 17 above) to improve the car's aerodynamics and reduce its fuel consumption - the same reason for Skoda fitting 'aero' trims to some Fabia Mk 4 wheels. My late-2023-built Fabia Mk4 SE L car's standard specification included the aero wheel trims, but the trims were dropped from the specification for the following model-year. My car does not have the cooling shutters and, apparently, neither does the 2025 Monte Carlo Fabia owned by @Alvin600 This May 2026 article compares the Skoda Fabia Mk4 with the Mazda 2 https://carvago.com/articles/car-battle/mazda-2-vs-skoda-fabia Active cooling shutters are mentioned in the "Aerodynamics and innovation" section of the Fabia review, but I suspect that this is an assumption based on Skoda's press releases rather than the reviewer knowing it to be true. (Perhaps @BACUPIAN could check if his Fabia has the shutters?)
  9. Today, I dropped off my Fabia (1.0 TSI – 110 PS, DLAA engine, 6-speed manual) for its scheduled 4-year service, even though the mileage is quite low at 35,000 km. I had noticed that, quite often, the car struggled to pull away smoothly and gently when applying a little throttle, but I didn't consider it a significant enough issue to address. So, taking the opportunity today, I mentioned it to the technician. He performed a few short test starts inside the workshop and suggested that there might be an issue with the clutch slave cylinder. He’s going to verify this, and if that is indeed the case, it will be replaced under warranty. Once I get the car back, I’ll provide an update on whether a replacement was actually necessary and if that was, in fact, the root cause of the problem.
  10. Hello all, I've managed to activate smartlink, thanks for sharing all the steps. Now I have another problem, maybe someone else has a solution. connecting the phone with cable, all good, androind auto is working, no problems there. when I try to connect a wireless adapter in the car's USB port, connects with the infotainment, but when I pair the adapter with my phone via bluetooth, the infotainment gives a USB error end keeps resetting. It could be that the cars's USB port is low on amperage and keeps getting errors? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  12. Just take it to an Skoda/VW independant, it'll be a lot cheaper
  13. Hi! It’s still working perfectly! No error codes or anything like that!
  14. I experienced this neck-whiplash inducing emergency braking several times before I learned to manage it and now I only rarely encounter it. To my experience the trick is to constantly have some pressure on brake pedal and this prevents the emergency braking. If you let go the brake pedal even momentarily the car is going to take over. In my 265hp 4x4 the reverse gear is too tall anyway so I really do not mind reversing with constant brake application so that the clutch is slipping during the whole reversing motion and the car moves slower. I keep auto-hold enabled all the time but start reversing from so far away that slight blip on the loud pedal is not a problem. The same trick works also driving forward preventing the annoying collision alarm. If there is some car turning to side road and it would otherwise cause big beep you can prevent this by applying some constant slight brake pedal yourself the whole time when distance to this turning car shortens but because you are braking the car thinks you have situation under control.

  16. I have never heard about such firmware. Moreover, I have never found installation files for any newer software than MST2_EU_SK_P0359T. The solution you can use is to: Patch swdownload to enable installation of different firmware. Install VW firmware MST2_EU_VW_P0480T (metainfo2.txt must be adjusted to enable installation on your unit). Install patch to enable VW FEC/SWaP codes. Enable VW FEC/SWaP codes. Install modifed SKODA HMI.
  17. Yeah I know. 😃
  18. Back in 1991 when my mk2 Golf was built it had two pressure switches, one that covered the bottom end of the rpm spectrum, the other covered everything above that. I think some recent Skoda engines have gone back to having multiple switches, but only because oil pressure is being actively controlled to minimise wasted pumping effort. So that needs monitoring to know if the control system has failed.
  19. From memory oil warning light comes on on my old MK2 octavia after oil change until oil fills filter etc then goes off. Stays on at idle for about 5secs with audible warning. Alasdair
  20. Hello @Krisz-III-FL ! I am looking for a solution for my 2018 Skoda-Superb and I have read here what you achieved. I will Try also on mine. How did your solution go so far? Thank you !
  21. Thank you so much! Donated

  23. I find it really hard to understand VAG reasoning that oil pressure doesn't require constant monitoring!
  24. My Android auto has stopped working because of the 00:00 bug. I believe I need SK_PQ_P0369T - is anyone able to help please? Many thanks!

  26. it is for cold winter, where thermostat dont open at all. so airflow thru cooler is not needed. with this blocage engine warms up more quickly.
  27. The main things to watch on the BMN, going by the workshop procedure for that engine: - **Get the right bits before you start.** The seal kit (heat shield/washer and O-rings), plus new clamp bolt and rocker shaft bolts, because they're stretch bolts. Worth getting new ball studs and adjusting screws for the rockers as well, as the procedure says to replace them. - **Before you take anything apart,** if you have VCDS, record the injector balance values (measuring block 013) so you can compare afterwards. - **Getting them out:** the rocker shaft needs to come off evenly, and a stuck injector needs the proper slide hammer puller. Don't lever on the solenoid or the connector. Suck the fuel out of the bore before the new one goes in. - **O-rings:** lubricate lightly and fit them without rolling or twisting, otherwise you'll get fuel in the oil later. - **Refitting:** the injector has to be pushed square into its seat with the clamp while you tighten. If it isn't, it won't seal properly. - **Rocker adjustment:** this is the bit people get wrong. The adjusting screw is set with a dial gauge against the injector after fitting, and the procedure is specific to the engine. Get the workshop data for the BMN for this step and the torque figures, and don't copy figures from the 8v PD or the common rail engines, as they're different. Afterwards, prime the fuel, check for leaks, check the balance values again, and keep an eye on the oil level for the first few hundred miles in case an O-ring is leaking fuel into the oil.
  28. Thanks CKO that's good to know. Your best figure is basically what Skoda give as an average mpg . I'll just have to live with petrol MPG now given the demise of the good old diesel VRS. Thanks again - Ian.
  29. My colour edition also have fancy wheel trim inserts ( removable ) fitted to reduce the air flow 🤔
  30. 1. Where to put the display (Web Interface): No external display needs to be mounted on the dashboard – the screenshot you see is taken directly from a web browser. The CarKit1 box itself is hidden wherever the Comfort CAN-BUS is accessible, for example under the dashboard next to the Gateway. It features built-in Wi-Fi and its own web server. You can view the data directly on your phone, tablet, or on an Android head unit (if you have one installed in your Superb II) simply by opening a web browser. 2. What the Lite version can do & Price: The Lite version is a purely local Wi-Fi variant (without an LTE modem or SIM card). It reads live data from the bus (fuel consumption, driving parameters, battery voltage, central locking and door statuses) and saves a local trip logbook / driving statistics into its internal memory. The target price for the Lite version would be around £75. 3. How the Active Alarm works (PRO version): The PRO version has its own built-in 4G/LTE modem. When the car is locked, the module monitors the CAN-BUS for the status of all doors, bonnet, boot, and ignition. If an unauthorized door opening or ignition turn-on is detected while the car is locked, the unit immediately calls your phone and sends a warning SMS specifying the exact reason the alarm was triggered. Also, if you have MQTT configured, the alert information is sent there as well.
  31. i put new hidraulic mount, Lemforder, and on lower mount i put powerflex yellow insert. now engine runs in idle like a diesel, but i think it will settle down more after a while. hidraulic mount had bad play, new one have almost not play at all.. https://photos.app.goo.gl/4hDEtQ2Q3wDCwcx7A
