The only time I get that symbol on the dash is when I engage sport mode. The two green ‘arcs’ move towards the rear of the car image as I accelerate so I’ve always assumed it’s some kind of half-baked G meter (or whatever they’re called). Either way I find it completely pointless.

  4. Just in case anyone is interested. I took my key to my local Timpsoms, they wanted £220. Went to a local locksmiths, who put me in touch with a local auto tech place, where they cut a new key, provided a new case with my “inners” inside it, for £50. So quite happy with that.
  5. I’ll be heading north, and should be on the A34, just shy of the M40. Hoping for a convenient lay-by… … either that or right on the junction 🙄

LED https://a.aliexpress.com/_EIdElNC Mirror caps (Without hole but I have a dremmel!) https://a.aliexpress.com/_EI3ItCA Pre-made mirror caps with led. https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ez8JPmw And this is the blind spot kit I have to avoid the coding and cabling and cost of OEM. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyC34RY I also have OEM radar brackets and the mounting nuts so don’t have to drill into metal work. I will install blind spot kit first with its standard lights just tucked into the base of the A pillar and then if it works well I will buy the other parts to make it look OEM and remove the standard lights.
  7. You are Welcome You have a Link from your AliExpress parts?
  8. Brilliant thanks. If I progress beyond proof of concept stage to install the lights I’ll order some terminals!
  9. Thanks According to chat gpt it’s: 000979034 and 000979035 I look forward to finding out if it right!

  12. Had a look this evening and that’s the wrong plug type. It’s 8K0972702 which you can also get repair pin out kits for. car side looks to be 8K0 972 701 which I can’t find pins for as yet. Any guidance gratefully received!
  13. Car is 2016 Octavia 3 diesel vRS with the CUNA engine. My aircon seems to be on its last legs and the guy who re-gassed it last week recommended a new compressor and condenser, the latter being a bit "crusty" in his words. I think i've found the correct part number for the compressor - 5Q0 820 803 - but there seem to be about a dozen different part numbers for the condenser. Can some kind person confirm I'm correct with the compressor PN and let me know the correct condenser PN please? TIA.
  14. Great stuff Breezy_Pete. That's just what I need. I've got access to a hydraulic press but I'll get Gen2 tool kit to be on the safe side. Thanks a lot.
  15. First one, ending E. There have been some superseding numbers but they usually quote all that match on the aftermarket.
  16. Gen2 bearing type that needs special tooling to make sure you don't press on the hub face when installing. Search youtube for demo vids with tooling examples.
  17. Thanks for the quick reply and info Alasdair 1. I didn't know about the PR codes but now I've checked them all and unfortunately the sticker doesn't have what I need. I've visited the link you've provided where there's a chose of two part numbers but as I don't have the PR code I can't be sure which part I need. They really don't make it easy! Regarding the puller is it a Gen2 puller that's required? Thanks for your help.
  18. @SkodaJosh pls post your unit part number and SW version

  20. My octavia is the same but weird my sons 55 plate fabia is spotless. Think it depends on what part of the country they have been in due to road salt. Have a look at Bilt Hamber rust cure. Seems to work well and can be overpainted and also a reasonable price. Hydrate 80 is what I use. £25 per 500ml Alasdair
  21. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/FABI/706/4/407/407011 Link to front wheel bearing etc 2011 fabia Look on the sticker in boot to match PR code They are press in press out on the MK1 and maybe MK2 I got a cheap puller/press on amazon that did the job fine. Alasdair
  22. Go to https://www.lllparts.co.uk/ and browse by manufacturers parts diagram. If you input your vin it will narrow it down. The listings of the bearings may have a PRcode which there is a sticker in boot near spare wheel. You could also try febi parts finder. Find it pretty good. Alasdair

  24. Hi there. I hope I've not missed something obvious on your forum, but does anyone know how to find OEM part numbers? My 2011 Fabia 1.2TSI front wheel bearings are getting very noisy. I've looked on various motor factor websites having input my car reg but there seem to be different dimension assemblies availabe. The only thing I suppose I could is to remove one the bearing/hubs and measure it up but my wife can't afford to have the car off the road while I order a spare part. I've tried Catcar info but there's no numbers there. The local dealer won't give me any help which is fair enough. Is there a reliable EPC available to help please? Thanks in advance.
  25. Update, cleaned front EGR valve (looks like a throttle body) and cleared the N18 P0403 int malfunction code and taken it for a 10 mile test run and its not reappeared ! So let's hope.
